CCK PD can reduce the number of false alarm of the CCK rates.
It dynamically adjusts the power threshold and CS ratio.
The values are compared to the values of the previous level, if
the level is changed, set new values of power threshold and CS
ratio.
Implement rtw_chip_ops::cck_pd_set() for 8723d.

Life time related setting is related to WLAN active port number,
not its mode. The original setting may cause poor WLAN performance.
In most case, WLAN TX limitation is helpful for BT in coexistence
scenario, especially for A2DP quality.
So this is necessary to fix the setting and constraint it.

The original mechanism may cause A2DP glitch during WiFi connecting AP.
Because the original TDMA may decrease too much A2DP slot.

Add counter to count BT info C2H command for debug usage.
It could present the C2H channel situation.
Fix BT IQK state decision condition for counting.
The original condition is wrong, it would cause coexistence mechanism
going to the wrong strategy.
New format supports getting TDMA parameter from WL firmware, since
coexistence needs current TDMA parameter to decide strategy.
Remove unnecessary operations about scoreboard, it is not a must for
current version.

Some register definition and bit definition were incorrect.
e.g. REG_BT_COEX_V2 should be word alignment to meet the coding style.
e.g. set REG_BT_TDMA_TIME[5:0]=0x5,
But the original is to set REG_BT_TDMA_TIME[7:0]=0x5.
This will cause unexpected hardware behavior.

This patch checks the supported lps deep mode from firmware feature,
and allows different firmware have different deep power mode.
Original module parameter rtw_fw_lps_deep_mode is replaced with

Originally driver checks if firmware has left lps via reading the setting
of REG_TCR register. But this way may fail when firmware is frequently
changing power state. Therefore, firmware provides a safer option for
driver. When firmware leaves lps successfully, it sends a C2H response
to inform driver.

Some functions need the support of firmware with special version.
In order to get the feature of current firmware, we store the information
in firmware header and parse after firmware is loaded. The current feature
list in firmware header includes checking leave lps via C2H and
supported lps deep mode.

In current flow, driver issues power requests to firmware for entering or
leaving deep power mode. But driver does not wait for an ack from firmware
via reading CPWM register when driver requests to enter deep power mode.
The behavior will lead to unsynchronized state between firmware and driver.
Furthermore, consecutive same power requests may confuse firmware and leads
to unexpected value of CPWM register. This patch ensures that the power
request will wait for an ack from firmware and only send one power request
each time.

BT firmware will report BLE-HID and BLE-RCU in different profile.
We can distinguish the two profile from BT info now.
Add the coexistence for BLE-HID coexistence,
it can make BLE HID work more smoothly.
BLE-HID need to Tx/Rx packet more frequently to respond
user operation, but RCU doesn't.
In the case of RCU coexistence, it will make Wi-Fi have a
higher priority to earn more Wi-Fi throughput.
If BLE-HID go for the same case,
it will make user feel mouse is lagging.

There are reports that 8822CE fails to work rtw88 with "failed to read DBI
register" error. Also I have a system with 8723DE which freezes the whole
system when the rtw88 is probing the device.
According to [1], platform firmware may not properly power manage the
device during shutdown. I did some expirements and putting the device to
D3 can workaround the issue.
So let's power cycle the device by putting the device to D3 at shutdown
to prevent the issue from happening.

This patch adds a function which is able to dump firmware fifo when
firmware crashes. If firmware needs more than one time to dump all logs,
it will set a bit called "more bit" in the header of the first log, and
driver needs to set a register to inform firmware that it is ready for the
next dump.

Rtw88 currently has a function to dump reserved page section of the
firmware fifo. Reserved page is just part of the firmware fifo, there
are multiple sections in the firmware fifo for different usages, such as
firmware rx fifo and tx fifo.
This commit adds a function to check not only the reserved page section
but also other parts of the firmware fifo. In addition, we need to dump
firmware fifo to dump the debug log message if firmware crashes.

This handles the situation when firmware crashes.
When firmware crashes, it will send an interrupt, and driver will queue
a work for recovery.
In the work, driver will reset it's internal association state, which
includes removing associated sta's macid, resetting vifs' states
and removing keys. After resetting the driver's state, driver will call
rtw_enter_ips() to force the chipset power off to reset the chip.
Finally, driver calls ieee80211_restart_hw() to inform mac80211 stack
to restart.
Since only 8822c firmware supports this feature, the interrupt will only
be triggered when 8822c chipset is loaded.

The vht capability of MAX_MPDU_LENGTH is 11454 in rtw88; however, the rx
buffer size for each packet is 8192. When receiving packets that are
larger than rx buffer size, it will leads to rx buffer ring overflow.

If rtw_core_init() fails to load the wow firmware, rtw_core_deinit()
will not get called to clean up the regular firmware.
Ensure that an error loading the wow firmware does not produce an oops
for the regular firmware by waiting on its completion to be signalled
before returning. Also release the loaded firmware.

Without this patch, RTL8821CE will not have coex support,
and will crash the system because of the NULL pointers
for the coex functions.
While RTL8822C series are WiFi + BT combo chips, it needs
the co-existence mechanism for the device to work on both
WiFi and BT without interfering each other. And the coex
support has already been added before, most of the mechanisms
are implemented. The driver should just add corresponding
functions to operate on different types of chips and its
coex parameters.

The coex mechanism used to skip upon the freeze flag is raised.
That will cause the coex mechanism being skipped unexpectedly.
Coex only wanted to keep the TDMA table from being changed by
BT side.
So, check the freeze and reason, if the coex reason is coming
from BT info, skip it, to make sure the coex triggered by Wifi
itself can work.
This is required for the AP mode, while the control flow is
different with STA mode. When starting an AP mode, the AP mode
needs to start working immedaitely after leaving IPS, and the
freeze flag could be raised. If the coex info is skipped, then
the AP mode will not set the antenna owner, leads to TX stuck.

Previous settings for TX descriptors of and reserved page packets
are insufficient.
For the sequence number of packets downloaded to reserved page, it
should be filled by hardware.
And for ps-poll packets in reserved page, to prevent AID being
changed by hardware, NAVUSEHDR should be set.
Additionally, the rate should be adjusted based on the current band
for mgmt and reserved page packets.

Fix the transmission is not sent with short GI under
some conditions even if the receiver supports short GI.
If VHT capability IE exists in the beacon, the original
code uses the short GI for 80M field as driver's short GI
setting for transmission, even the current bandwidth is
not 80MHz.
Short GI supported fields for 20M/40M are informed in HT
capability information element, and short GI supported
field for 80M is informed in VHT capability information
element.
These three fields may be set to different values.
Driver needs to record each short GI support field for
each bandwidth, and send correct info depends on current
bandwidth to the WiFi firmware.

Add a set of logic with corresponding coexistence parameters to
handle the situation under BT inquiry/page.
We will set PSTDMA while WL-Busy + BT inquiry/page to separate
WL/BT slots. PSTDMA can protect WL data rate and BT performance.
If WL-Busy + BT inquiry/page and there was BT device paired,
We will set the mechanism to 4Slot PSTDMA.
In 4Slot PSTDMA, the paired devices can perform more smoothly
and prevent some issues trigger from insufficient data.
And to avoid A2DP glitch or disconnection, we will adjust ACL
data priority higher than inquiry/page.
In addition, we found sometimes BT inquiry/page still working
last for seconds after BT had notified inquiry/page finished.
It will lead to A2DP glitch cause of ACL data, inquiry/page
priority toggled. To fix the corner, we add a timer to remain
the inquiry/page status.
And we found WL busy/idle threshold is too sensitive,
it will keep switching in some weak network environment and
coexistence mechanism will switch between TDMA and PSTDMA.
The very frequently switching may destroyed not only the
handshake with AP, but BT performance. And it will trigger
some unexpected error.
To prevent the frequently switching, we add a timer to delay
the status change while WL busy switch to idle.

Some platforms cannot read the DBI register successfully for the
ASPM settings. After the read failed, the bus could be unstable,
and the device just became unavailable [1]. For those platforms,
the ASPM should be disabled. But as the ASPM can help the driver
to save the power consumption in power save mode, the ASPM is still
needed. So, add a module parameter for them to disable it, then
the device can still work, while others can benefit from the less
power consumption that brings by ASPM enabled.

Beamforming is used for directional signal transmission/reception.
Beamformee plays the role for signal reception, and makes the RX
performance better in middle distance range.
Implement beamformee related callbacks for 8821c.
Since 8821c only support 1ss rate, nc_index in beamformee setting
needs to be adjusted based on the capability.

The TX power requires to be adjusted based on the thermal value.
The actual power will decrease if the thermal value raised, and
will increase if the thermal value lowered. Driver comapres the
thermal value, as moving averages. If it changes over a limit,
driver will modify the TX power index to compensate.

CCK PD can reduce the number of false alarm of the CCK rates.
It dynamically adjusts the power threshold and CS ratio.
The values are compared to the values of the previous level, if
the level is changed, set new values of power threshold and CS
ratio.

In order to get a better TX EVM, do calibration after association.
The calibration needed for 8821c is the IQK, which is done in the
firmware. Implement the rtw_chip_ops::phy_calibration() to trigger

The CCK TX setting when switch channel will fix the CCK to
path A only, so if the antenna is configured to path B
(e.g. iw phy set antenna 0x2 0x3 "TX B/RX AB"), then the CCK
packets can never be delivered to the air if only path B is
connected with an antenna (it can possibly be transmitted
through path A, but as path B is configured, the expected
behavior is incorrect).
This can also solve the racing issue of CCK TX setting between
driver and firmware. The CCK TX setting in driver should be
removed. Otherwise, the CCK TX setting would be wrong when the
racing occurs.

Connecting to an AP with WPA2 security may fail. The IQK
and the EAPOL 4-way handshake may overlap because the
driver does IQK right after assoc success.
For 802.11n devices, the IQK is done in the driver and it
could require more than 100ms to complete. During IQK, any
TX/RX events are paused. So if the EAPOL 4-way handshake
started before IQK finished, then the 1/4 and 2/4 part of
the handshake could be dropped. The AP will then issue
deauth with reason IEEE8021X_FAILED (23).
To resolve this, move IQK routine into managed TX prepare
(ieee80211_ops::mgd_prepare_tx()). The callback is called
before the managed frames (auth/assoc) are sent. This will
make sure that the IQK is completed before the handshake
starts. But don't do IQK during scanning because doing it
on each channel will take too long.
For 802.11ac devices, the IQK is done in firmware and it
takes less time to complete. Therefore we don't see a
failure during the EAPOL 4-way handshake. But it is still
worth moving the IQK into ieee80211_ops::mgd_prepare_tx().

Coex mechanism used to make BT have higher priority and more time to
transfer data when BT inquiry-page, which leads to poor WiFi performance.
Should take WiFi traffic into consideration. If the WiFi is having heavy
traffic, use another parameter to make sure WiFi has more chance to TX/RX,
while guarantee the priority of BT for inquiry. If the WiFi isn't busy
(connected or not), set proper parameter to fix originals.

Without setting antenna control owner, the WiFi could be disconnected if
the BT has traffic. Because the antenna is switched to BT side for its
traffic, and the WiFi will have no chance to transfer data. Set control
owner to prevent WiFi disconnect issue.

This reverts commit 07d0f55349.
For rtw88 driver, the SDIO is going to be supported, so there is
no need to remove the SDIO related power sequence settings. And
while the power sequence parser will pass in the mask of the HCI,
the SDIO part will not be used to set registers accordingly.
Moreover, the power sequence table is released as a whole package,
so the next time if we are going to update, the SDIO settings will
be overwritten. So, revert this now.

Currently ldo_pwr has the LDO25 voltage bits set to zero and then

In the current design, chip entry points are built into
the pci module. That makes the pci module depend on chips.
According to dependence, once the pci module is loaded,
kernel will load chip functionalities, including those that
may not be currently used.
We plan to split chip entry points from the pci module.
Thence we export pci symbols that will be used in chip
entry point modules.

In the current design, various chip functions and tables
are built into rtw88 core. That causes kernel to load its
functionalities even if a chip isn't currently used. We
plan to make each chip's functionalities a separate
kernel module to reduce rtw88 core. And kernel will be
able to load the necessary.
Before extracting chip functionalities, we export symbols
inside rtw88 core which will be used in chip modules.

8723D adds some experimental features to word 0x06 of cam entry, so fill
zeros to initialize them to off state. For existing chips, these two words
are reserved and always zeros, so this change is harmless for them.

8723D is a Wifi+BT combo card. To make them work properly, we need coex
mechanism to avoid interference, such as TX simultaneously. Basically,
coex.c provide main algorithm to deal with many use cases, and this commit
adds some parameters and ops differ from other chips, because coex
hardware and WiFi generation are changed.

Flush queue is used to check if queue is empty, before doing something
else. Since 8723D uses different registers and page number of
availabl/reserved occupy 8 bits instead of 16 bits, so use a 'wsize' field
to discriminate which rtw_read{8,16} is adopted.

Without this patch, wifi card can't initialize properly due to BT in USB
suspend state. So, we disable BT USB suspend (wakeup) in shutdown callback
that is the moment before rebooting. To save BT USB power, we can't do this
in 'remove' callback.

When chip's temperature is changed, RF characters are changed. To keep the
characters to be consistent, 8723d uses thermal meter to assist in
calibrating LCK, IQK, crystal and TX power.
A base thermal value is programmed in efuse, all calibration data in
MP process is based on this thermal value. So we calucate the delta of
thermal value between the base value, and use this delta to reference XTAL
and TX power offset tables to know how much we need to adjust.
For IQK and LCK, driver checks if delta of thermal value is over 8, then
they are triggered.
For crystal adjustment, when delta of thermal value is changed, we check
XTAL tables to get offset of XTAL value. If thermal value is larger than
base value, positive table (_p as suffix) is used. Otherwise, we use
negative table (_n as suffix). Then, we add offset to XTAL default value
programmed in efuse, and write sum value to register.
To compensate TX power, there are two hierarchical tables. First level use
delta of thermal value to access eight tables to yield delta of TX power
index. Then, plus base TX power index to get index of BB swing table
(second level tables) where register value is induced.
BB swing table can't deal with all cases, if index of BB swing table is
over the size of the table. In this case, TX AGC is used to compensate the
remnant part. Assume 'upper' is the upper bound of BB swing table, and
'target' is the desired index. Then, we can illustrate them as

IQ calibration is used to calibrate RF characteristic to yield expected
performance. Basically, we do calibration twice and compare the similarity
to determine calibration is good or not, if not we do the third
calibration, and then compare with the results of first and second
calibration. If it still not similar, IQK is failed.
Before doing calibration, we need to backup registers that will be
modified in calibration procedure, and restore these registers after
calibration is done.
A calibration procedure can divided into four sub-procedures that are
S1-TX, S1-RX, S0-TX and S0-RX. Where, S1 and S0 represent to path A and B
respectively. Each sub-procedure configure proper registers, and then
rigger one-shot calibration and poll until completion. For RX calibration,
it needs to do twice one-shot calibration, first one is to yield parameter
used by second one.

LC calibration is done by hardware circuit. Driver sets the LCK bit to kick

This ops is used to do statistics of false alarm periodically, and then
fine tune RX initial gain to adaptive different circumstance.
There are three steps, hold/get/reset counter, to retrieve false alarm
counters that consist of CCK and OFDM. In addition to false alarm
counters, it also collects CRC ok/error counters of CCK, OFDM and HT.

TX status report of 8723D differs from 8822B/8822C, it uses
C2H_CCX_TX_RPT (0x03) with different format. With sequence number
and TX status, driver can know if certain packet was transmitted
successfully.

Set MAC/BB/RF register according to specified channel. The function
rtw_set_channel_mac() is used to set MAC registers, but 8723D only need
some of them.
For channel 14, we need to set different CCK DFIR values, so restore the
values when channel 1 to 13 is selected.
Spur calibration is needed in channel 13 and 14, and we do notch if spur
is over threshold.

This ops is used to parse RX descriptor to know the length of received
packet and containing PHY status. If PHY status is existing, the order is
RX descriptor, PHY status and then packet.
There are two types of PHY status, named CCK and OFDM. Their size are the
same, but formats are different.
struct ieee80211_rx_status is also filled depends on above information.

Implement rtw_chip_ops::phy_set_param and ::mac_init to initialize
mac/bb/rf, and they are used during interface up. The procedure contains

TX FIFO size is 32k and it was divided into 256 pages with 128 bytes.
A boundary is used to split pages into two parts, head part is used to
store TX packets coming from host, and tail part is reserved for special
purposes, such as beacon packet, null data packet and so on.
The TX packets coming from host have many categories, such as VO, VI, BE,
BK, MG and etc. When going into head part of TX FIFO, they are classified
to four priority queue named low, normal, high and extra priority queues.
Each priority queue occupies predefined number of page, if a certain
priority queue is full, TX packet will store into PUB priority queue.
Similarly, RX FIFO is 16k and split into two parts, head part is used to
store RX packets, and tail part is 128 bytes and used to store report.
Thus, we fill this boundary to register as well.

The txagc table is used to map rate_id and txagc register address and
mask, and ops set_tx_power_index uses this table to write TX power to
corresponding registers. Since 8723D is a 1x1 2.4G 11n chip, only CCK, OFDM
and HT_MCS 0-7 are listed in the table.

H2C queue is used to send command to firmware. Since 8723D doesn't support

The power polling command is one kind of power sequence commands. It's used
to check hardware situation, and subsequent comamnds will be executed if
hardware is ready. A special case is PCIE must toggle BIT_PFM_WOWL and try
again if first try is failed.
In order to reduce indentation to understand the code easier, move polling
part to a separate function. Then, the 'while (1)...loop' is replaced by
two statements to do first try and retry.

The mac power-on flow consists of three steps:
1. pre_sys_cfg (Before switching power state)
2. power_switch (Switching power state)
3. init_sys_cfg (Settings after swtiching power state)
When switching power state, driver will load and parse the power sequence
tables. For 8723D devices, the logics for parsing are most same except for
the polling function. 8723D devices need to toggle BIT_PFM_WOWL twice.
The settings after power state is switched for 8723D devices are quite
different with other devices, extract a legacy function for them.
For power-off flow, 8723D devices have the same logic with existing chips.
But warning printed if we run power-off sequence in power-off state:
rtw_pci 0000:03:00.0: failed to poll offset=0x5f8 mask=0xff value=0x0
The scenario is user do 'ifconfig up' that will run power-on sequence to
bring up and then run power-off sequence to enter idle
(IEEE80211_CONF_IDLE). Then, user do 'ifconfig down' that will run
power-off sequence again, and the warning is shown. Original code check
power-on state to avoid to run power-on sequence twice, and this commit
extends to check both power-on and power-off states.

The firmware of 11AC devices need more information to support more offload
functions, such as IQK. And 11N devices such as 8723D does not support
offload these function in firmware, there is no need to send these additional
information to firmware when it comes to 11N devices.

The WLAN CPU of 8723D device is different from others, add legacy
firmware download function for it. A new variable wlan_cpu is used to
decide which firmware download function we should use.
Legacy firmware file contains 32 bytes header including version and
subversion. When downloading to wlan cpu, header is excluded.
Firmware is downloaded via beacon queue to reserved page that is a part of
TX buffer. Since 11N WLAN CPU uses different control registers, this patch
introduces related control registers.

8822C devices have power trim, thermal and PA bias values
programmed in efuse. Driver should configure the RF components
according to the values.
If the power trim is not configured, then the devices might have
distortion on the output tx power.

The logical efuse map is decoded from physical map by parsing the
header format of the physical map. And each different type of chips
has different logical efuse layout. So add the logical map's layout
for parsing the efuse contents.

8723D use SIPI to indirectly read RF register instead of directly read,
so introduce a new struct rtw_rf_sipi_addr and new function
rtw_phy_read_rf_sipi(). Since other chips don't use the new function,
only 8723D needs to fill struct rtw_rf_sipi_addr in rtw_chip_info.
Because there are two kinds of functions for reading RF registers now,
change rtw_phy_read_rf() to chip->ops->read_rf() in
rtw_phy_write_rf_reg_sipi() so that we can switch tp proper RF read
functions depends on the type of the chip.
Though 8723D is an 1x1 chip, it has two RF PHY and we can switch to
one of them, and that should be configured properly. Hence, add a
fix_rf_phy_num to struct rtw_chip_info to allow driver to set one of
the PHY's registers for 8723D, even it is only 1x1. Another variable
rf_phy_num is introduced to keep the constraint number of RF path we
can access, and its value is:

8723D doesn't support beamform because rtw88 only supports VHT beamform
but 8723d doesn't have VHT capability. Though 8723d doesn't support
beamform, BSS_CHANGED_MU_GROUPS is still marked as changed when doing
disassociation. So, add wrapper functions for all beamform ops to make
sure they aren't NULL before calling.

User space program such as iw can set antenna mask for the device.
So add set antenna support by configure the trx mode.
This is useful for some tests want to see the output of different
antenna configuration (e.g. path A v.s. path B).

To support ieee80211_ops::set_antenna, the driver can decide if the
antenna mask is accepted, otherwise it can return an error code.
Because each chip could have different limitations, let the chip
check the mask and return.
Also the antenna mask for TRX from upper space is 32-bit long.
Change the antenna mask for rtw_chip_ops::set_antenna from u8 to u32.

In previous setting, management packets' sequence numbers will
not increase and always stay at 0. Add hw sequence number support
for mgmt packets.
The table below shows different sequence number setting in the
tx descriptor.

Sometimes we need to stop the coex mechanism to debug, so that we
can manually control the device through various outer commands.
Hence, add a new debugfs coex_enable to allow us to enable/disable
the coex mechanism when driver is running.
To disable coex

Add a new entry "coex_info" in debugfs to dump coex's states for
us to debug on coex's issues.
The basic concept for co-existence (coex, usually for WiFi + BT)
is to decide a strategy based on the current status of WiFi and
BT. So, it means the WiFi driver requires to gather information
from BT side and choose a strategy (TDMA/table/HW settings).
Althrough we can easily check the current status of WiFi, e.g.,
from kernel log or just dump the hardware registers, it is still
very difficult for us to gather so many different types of WiFi
states (such as RFE config, antenna, channel/band, TRX, Power
save). Also we will need BT's information that is stored in
"struct rtw_coex". So it is necessary for us to have a debugfs
that can dump all of the WiFi/BT information required.
Note that to debug on coex related issues, we usually need a
longer period of time of coex_info dump every 2 seconds (for
example, 30 secs, so we should have 15 times of coex_info's
dump).

After MAC switched power, the hardware's RF registers will have
its default value, but the default value for path B is incorrect.
So, load RF path B first, to decrease the period between MAC on
and RF path B config.
By test, if we load path A first, then there's ~300ms that the
path B is incorrect, it could lead to BT coex's A2DP glitch.
But if we configure path B first, there will only have ~3ms,
significantly lower possibility to have A2DP sound glitch.

Driver used to kick off every TX packets, that will waste some
time while we can do better to kick off the TX packets once after
they are all prepared to be transmitted.
For PCI, it uses DMA engine to transfer the SKBs to the device,
and the transition of the state of the DMA engine could be a cost.
Driver can save some time to kick off multiple SKBs once so that
the DMA engine will have only one transition.
So, split rtw_hci_ops::tx() to rtw_hci_ops::tx_write() and
rtw_hci_ops::tx_kick_off() to explicitly kick the SKBs off after
they are written to the prepared buffer. For packets come from
ieee80211_ops::tx(), write one and then kick it off immediately.
For packets queued in TX queue, which come from
ieee80211_ops::wake_tx_queue(), we can dequeue them, write them
to the buffer, and then kick them off together.

Add a macro TRX_BD_IDX_MASK for access the TX/RX BD indexes.
The hardware has only 12 bits for TX/RX BD indexes, we should not
initialize a TX/RX ring or access the TX/RX BD index with a length
that is larger than TRX_BD_IDX_MASK.

Each device has only one reserved page shared with all of the
vifs, so it seems not reasonable to pass vif as one of the
arguments to rtw_fw_download_rsvd_page(). If driver is going
to run more than one vif, the content of reserved page could
not be built for all of the vifs.
To fix it, let each vif maintain its own reserved page list,
and build the final reserved page to download to the firmware
from all of the vifs. Hence driver should add reserved pages
to each vif according to the vif->type when adding the vif.
For station mode, add reserved page with rtw_add_rsvd_page_sta().
If the station mode is going to suspend in PNO (net-detect)
mode, remove the reserved pages used for normal mode, and add
new one for wowlan mode with rtw_add_rsvd_page_pno().
For beacon mode, only beacon is required to be added using
rtw_add_rsvd_page_bcn().
This would make the code flow simpler as we don't need to
add reserved pages when vif is running, just add/remove them
when ieee80211_ops::[add|remove]_interface.
When driver is going to download the reserved page, it will
collect pages from all of the vifs, this list is maintained
by rtwdev, with build_list as the pages' member. That way, we
can still build a list of reserved pages to be downloaded.
Also we can get the location of the pages from the list that
is maintained by rtwdev.
The biggest problem is that the first page should always be
beacon, if other type of reserved page is put in the first
page, the tx descriptor and offset could be wrong.
But station mode vif does not add beacon into its list, so
we need to add a dummy page in front of the list, to make
sure other pages will not be put in the first page. As the
dummy page is allocated when building the list, we must free
it before building a new list of reserved pages to firmware.

These routines should also be used by USB and SDIO.
This should not change the logic at all.
memset() for pkt_info is unnecessary, just declare as {0}.
Also skb_put()/memcpy() can be replaced by skb_put_data().

This driver generally only needs to ensure that
(a) it doesn't try to process TX interrupts at the same time as
power-save operations (and similar)
(b) the device interrupt gets disabled while we're still handling the
last set of interrupts
For (a), all the operations (e.g., PS transitions, packet handling)
happens in non-atomic contexts (e.g., threaded IRQ).
For (b), we only need mutual exclusion for brief sections (i.e., while
we're actually manipulating the interrupt mask/status).
So, we can introduce a separate lock for handling (b), disabling IRQs
while we do it. For (a), we can demote the locking to BH only, now that
(b) (the only steps done in atomic context) and that has its own lock.
This helps reduce the amount of time this driver spends with IRQs off.
Notably, transitioning out of power-save modes can take >3 milliseconds,
and this transition is done under the protection of 'irq_lock'.

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language
extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:
struct foo {
int stuff;
struct boo array[];
};
By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which
will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being
inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.
Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by
this change:
"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator
may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of
zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.

Some tests shows that using AMSDU to aggregate TCP ACKs to specific
APs will degrade the throughput on 2.4G band in 20MHz bandwidth
(< 10 Mbps, should be ~100 Mbps for 2x2). Also found that there's
barely no negative impact if we disable TX AMSDU on 2.4G to connect
to other APs. So it seems like we can just tell mac80211 to not to
aggregate MSDUs when transmitting on 2.4G band.
Note that we still can TX AMSDU on 5G band and benefit from it by
having 50 ~ 70 Mbps throughput improvement.

According to some experiments, the original RF register protection
setting of 8822c cannot perfectly make sure that there is no hardware
PI write (direct) during direct write. Modify the setting so that the
hardware block of PI would be turned off via rtw8822c_rstb_3wire()
during the direct write, to avoid RF register racing.
Note that 8822b uses SIPI write (indirect), so 8822b does not
have such problem.

Driver could possibly be dead-locked while canceling works with
*_sync() with mutex lock held. Those cancel_delayed_work_sync()
functions will wait until the work is done, but if we hold the
lock, they will never acquire the lock.
To prevent this, simply release the lock and acquire again after
the works have been canceled. And to avoid the works being queued
again, check if the device is at RTW_FLAG_RUNNING state, otherwise
just return and do nothing.

When driver is coming up, mac80211 will set changed as ~0 (0xffffffff),
and driver could enter IDLE state (power off) before switching channel or
other config event. So move rtw_enter_ips() to the last, to make sure the
driver completed the config events before going to IDLE state.
So, moves leave/enter IPS config to be first/last one according to flag
IEEE80211_CONF_IDLE. If there're more configureations we want to add in
the future, they must locate between leave/enter IPS.

When TX packet arrives, driver should leave deep PS state to make
sure the DMA is working. After requested to leave deep PS state,
driver needs to poll the PS state to check if the mode has been
changed successfully. The driver used to check the state of the
hardware every 20 msecs, which means upon the first failure of
state check, the CPU is delayed 20 msecs for next check. This is
harmful for some time-sensitive applications such as media players.
So, use shorter delay time each check from 20 msecs to 100 usecs.
The state should be changed in several tries. But we still need
to reserve ~15 msecs in total in case of the state just took too
long to be changed successfully. If the states of driver and the
hardware is not synchronized, the power state could be locked
forever, which mean we could never enter/leave the PS state.

Sometimes the TX queue may be empty and we could possible
dequeue a NULL pointer, crash the kernel. If the skb is NULL
then there is nothing to do, just leave the ISR.
And the TX queue should not be empty here, so print an error
to see if there is anything wrong for DMA ring.

TX secondary channel offset is valid only if current bandwidth is 80M,
otherwise leave this value as zero. The wrong value of txsc40 causes
MAC unpredictable behavior.

The rate mask is used to tell firmware the supported rate depends on
negotiation. We loop 2 times for all VHT/HT 2SS rate mask first, and then
only keep the part according to chip's NSS.
This commit fixes the logic error of '&' operations for VHT/HT rate, and
we should run this logic before adding legacy rate.
To access HT MCS map, index 0/1 represent MCS 0-7/8-15 respectively. Use
NL80211_BAND_xxx is incorrect, so fix it as well.

Net-detect is an option of wowlan to allow the device to
be woken up from suspend mode when configured network is detected.
When user enables net-detect and lets the device enter suspend
state, wowlan firmware will periodically scan until beacon or
probe response of configured networks are received.
Between two scans, wowlan firmware keeps wifi chip in idle mode
to reduce power consumption. If configured networks are detected,
wowlan firmware will trigger resume process.

Pattern match is an option of wowlan to allow the device
to be woken up from suspend mode when receiving packets
matched user-designed patterns.
The patterns are written into hardware cam in suspend flow
if users have set up them. If packets matched designed
pattern are received, wowlan firmware will get an interrupt
and then wake up the device.

Wake on WLAN(wowlan) is a feature which allows devices
to be woken up from suspend state through wlan events.
When user enables wowlan feature and then let the device
enter suspend state, wowlan firmware will be loaded by
the driver and periodically monitors wifi packets.
Power consumption of wifi chip will be reduced in this
state.
If wowlan firmware detects that specific wlan event
happens, it will issue wakeup signal to trigger resume
process. Driver will load normal firmware and let wifi
chip return to the original state.
Currently supported wlan events include receiving magic packet,
rekey packet and deauth packet, and disconnecting from AP.

Driver used to download normal firmware only,
but some devices support wowlan and require to
download wowlan firmware when system suspends.
So modify rtw_load_firmware() and its callback to
allow driver to download both normal and wowlan firmware.

Some devices need to configure interface/HCI related reigsters
in power on flow. Add interface_cfg for HCI for the settings.
The driver only supports RTL8822BE/RTL8822CE now, and since
RTL8822BE does not need to configure PCIE, the configuration
is only added for RTL8822CE. Without it, some of the RTL8822CE
device can crash and disconnected to host in suspend/wowlan mode.

When PCI trx rings are reset, the DMA engine should also be reset.
Otherswise, the rx_tag of rx flow is not synchronous to hw.
Remove DMA reset when rtw_pci_start() as we added it in
rtw_pci_setup().

Different interfaces have its own link-related power save mechanism.
Such as PCI can enter L1 state based on the traffic on the link, and
sometimes driver needs to enable/disable it to avoid some issues, like
throughput degrade when PCI trying to enter L1 state even if driver is
having heavy traffic.
For now, rtw88 only supports PCIE chips, and they just need to disable
ASPM L1 when driver is not in power save mode, such as IPS and LPS.

By Realtek's design, there are two HW modules associated for CLKREQ,
one is responsible to follow the PCIE host settings, and another
is to actually working on it. But the module that is actually working
on it is default disabled, and driver should enable that module if
host and device have successfully sync'ed with each other.
The module is default disabled because sometimes the host does not
support it, and if there is any incorrect settings (ex. CLKREQ# is
not Bi-Direction), device can be lost and disconnected to the host.
So driver should first check after host and device are sync'ed, and
the host does support the function and set it in configuration
space, then driver can turn on the HW module to working on it.

The LPS threshold was set to 2, means driver will leave LPS
mode if there is more than 2 frames TX/RX for every 2 seconds.
This makes driver enter/leave LPS frequently even if we just
"ping -i1" to the others.
Apparently we do not want to leave LPS mode if there is only
some background traffics or web surfing. By experiment, set
this to 50 is a more reasonable value to lower the over all
power consumption.

The checks to see if swing_table->n or swing_table->p are null are
redundant since n and p are arrays and can never be null if
swing_table is non-null. I believe these are redundant checks
and can be safely removed, especially the checks implies that these
are not arrays which can lead to confusion.

The FW info was printed everytime driver is powered on, such as
leaving IDLE state. It will flood the kernel log.
Move the FW info printing to callback when FW is loaded, so
that will only be printed once when device is probed.

The level of cckpd is from 0 to 4, and it is the index of
array pd_lvl[] and cs_lvl[]. However, the length of both arrays
are 4, which is smaller than the possible maximum input index.
Enumerate cck level to make sure the max level will not be wrong
if new level is added in future.

Driver just memset() rx_status to 0 before assigning rate indexes.
And driver could never hit the 'else' because the driver checks
if 'pkt_stat->rate >= DESC_RATEMCS0', so the 'else' statement can
be removed.
Also rearrange the if..else statements because DESC_RATEMCS0 is
actually larger than DESC_RATE1M ~ DESC_RATE54M, move the check
of 'pkt_stat->rate >= DESC_RATEMCS0' to the last to keep an
increasing order.

This commit adds several Tx/Rx physical information to phy_info
debugfs for 8822B/8822C. By this debugfs, we can know physical
information, such as Tx/Rx rate, RSSI, EVM,SNR, etc. The
information is gotten from the packets of Tx/Rx path. It has
no impact for the performance of 8822B/8822C.
In the fields, we may meet different kinds of problems, but
we may have no professional instrument to check them. At
this moment, this debugfs is a good tool, and it may provide
useful information for debug.

Support setting bit rate from upper layer.
After configuring the original rate control result in the driver, the
result is then masked by the bit rate mask received from the ops
set_bitrate_mask. Lastly, the masked result will be sent to firmware.

Enable MU-MIMO transmit beamformee support for chipset 8822b and 8822c.
If the driver is in station mode and associated with an AP, and the
capabilities of both meet the requirement of beamforming, driver will
run as a beamformee and the corresponding chip settings will be set.
In addition, module parameter support_bf is added to enable or disable
beamforming. Sometimes driver will need to disable for inter-operate
issues, and it would be easier for driver to debug.

The temperature of the chip can affect the output power
of the RF components. Hence driver requires to compensate
the power by adjusting the power index recorded in the
power swing table.
And if the difference of current thermal value to the
default thermal value exceeds a threshold, the RF IQK
should be triggered to re-calibrate the characteristics
of the RF components, to keep the output IQ vectors of
the RF components orthogonal enough.

With shallow buffer size, certain BT devices have active
A2DP flow control to fill buffer frequently. If the slot
is not at BT side, data can't be sent successfully to BT
devices, and will cause audio glitch.
To resolve this issue, this commit splits TUs into 4-slots
instead of 2-slot for all of the A2DP related coexistence
strategies. That makes BT have higher opportunity to fill
the A2DP buffer in time, and the audio quality could be
more stable and smooth.

Add support for NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_CAN_REPLACE_PTK0 feature.
According to the "Hardware crypto acceleration" documentation section,
when set_key() is called with %DISABLE_KEY command, for outgoing frames,
we flush out frames in the queues with the old key; for incoming frames,
no frames will be passed to mac80211 decrypted with the old key due to
rtw_sec_clear_cam().

It's better to print firmware version at load time.
But since we need to set debug_mask properly to default print
rtw_dbg(), raise the debug level to rtw_info() instead.
Also change the multiple line style to one line only, it will

Set CWmax/CWmin, TXOP and AIFS according to ieee80211_tx_queue_params.
Do note that hardware has only one group of EDCA[ac] registers, if more
than one vif are added, the EDCA[ac] registers will contain value of
params of the most recent set by ieee80211_ops::conf_tx().
And AIFS = AIFSN[ac] * slot_time + SIFS, so if use_short_slot is changed,
need to also change AIFS.

The value of GET_RX_DESC_SWDEC() indicates that if this RX
packet requires software decryption or not. And software
decryption is required when the packet was encrypted and the
hardware failed to decrypt it.
So, GET_RX_DESC_SWDEC() is negative does not mean that this
packet is decrypted, it might just have no encryption at all.
To actually see if the packet is decrypted, driver needs to
further check if the hardware has successfully decrypted it,
with a specific type of encryption algorithm.

When downloading the reserved page, the first page always contains
a beacon for the firmware to reference. For non-beaconing modes such
as station mode, also put a blank skb with length=1.
And for the beaconing modes, driver will get a real beacon with a
length approximate to the page size. But as the beacon is always put
at the first page, it does not need a tx_desc, because the TX path
will generate one when TXing the reserved page to the hardware. So we
could allocate a buffer with a size smaller than the reserved page,
when using memcpy() to copy the content of reserved page to the buffer,
the over-sized reserved page will violate the kernel memory.
To fix it, add the tx_desc before memcpy() the reserved packets to
the buffer, then we can get SKBs with correct length when counting
the pages in total. And for page 0, count the extra tx_desc_sz that
the TX path will generate. This way, the first beacon that allocated
without tx_desc can be counted with the extra tx_desc_sz to get
actual pages it requires.

Sometimes mac80211 will ask us to flush the hardware queues.
To flush them, first we need to get the corresponding priority queues
from the RQPN mapping table.
Then we can check the available pages are equal to the originally
reserved pages, which means the hardware has returned all of the pages
it used to transmit.
Note that now we only check for 100 ms for the priority queue, but
sometimes if we have a lot of traffic (ex. 100Mbps up), some of the
packets could be dropped.

Based on the mac80211's TXQ implementation, TX-AMSDU can
be used to get higher MAC efficiency. To make mac80211
aggregate MSDUs, low level driver just need to leave skbs
in the TXQ, and mac80211 will try to aggregate them if
possible. As driver will schedule a tasklet when the TX
queue is woke, until the tasklet being served, there will
have some skbs in the queue if traffic is heavy.
Driver can control the max AMSDU size depending on the
current bit rate used by hardware/firmware. The higher
rates are used, the larger AMSDU size can be.
It is tested that can achieve higher T-Put at higher rates.
If the environment is relatively clean, and the bit_rate
is high enough, we can get about 80Mbps improvement.
For lower bit rates, not much gain can we get, so leave
the max_amsdu length low to prevent aggregation.

to transmit to a peer, it sends an RA report through C2H to
driver. Driver can then record the bit rate in the peer's
struct rtw_sta_info, and report to mac80211 when it asks us
for the statistics of the sta by ieee80211_ops::sta_statistics

We can indicate IEEE80211_HW_HAS_RATE_CONTROL to mac80211 because
the hardware has its own rate control algorithm. And what driver needs
to do is to choose an RA mask according the peer's capabilities.
But the hardware is not able to setup BA session by itself. So driver
requires to initiate tx BA session for hardware, and tells it if it is
possible to transmit AMPDU. The hardware can then aggregate MPDUs.
And the size of AMPDU is controlled by the TX descriptor and the
register value. Since the TX descriptor will reference the max AMPDU
size from ieee80211_sta::ht_cap::ampdu_factor, just set the register
value to 0x3f, and let it be controlled by TX descriptor.

The mac80211 provides software TX queue for driver, as long as
driver has hooked ieee80211_ops::wake_tx_queue. Each time a
packet is queued onto the TX queue, that queue will be woken
up the inform driver to serve the queue.
Now driver only supports PCI interface ICs, there's no specific
traffic control for each queue, just schedule a tasklet, and
dump all of the packets at once to the DMA ring. Instead of TX
the packets whenever TX queue is woke, tasklet handler can have
more packets dumped to the device, takes advantage of burst
write with DMA engine.
And if the driver is going to support USB/SDIO ICs, the tasklet
can be more flexible for aggregating the packets, enhance the
efficiency of bandwidth usage.

Allows driver to send RTS by filling tx descriptor.
The user may want to set the rts threshold. But since we have not
been taking over rate control from mac80211 to driver by setting flag
IEEE80211_HW_HAS_RATE_CONTROL, there is nothing we can do about it.
So here just store the value, and mac80211 will tell us to use rts
protection by ieee80211_tx_info::control::use_rts.

Driver needs to wait for firmware to restore hardware setting
to active mode after leaving lps.
After getting H2C from driver for leaving lps, firmware will
issue null packet without PS bit to inform AP driver is active,
and then restore REG_TCR Register if AP has receiced null packet.
But the transmission of null packet may cost much more time
in noisy environment. If driver does not wait for firmware,
null packet with PS bit could be sent due to incorrect REG_TCR setting.
And AP will be confused.
In our test, 100ms is enough for firmware to send null packet
to AP. If REG_TCR Register is still wrong after 100ms, we will
modify it directly, force the PS bit to be cleared

There really is no need to make drivers call the
ieee80211_start_tx_ba_cb_irqsafe() function and then
schedule the worker if all we want is to set a bit.
Add a new return value (that was previously considered
invalid) to indicate that the driver is immediately
ready for the session, and make drivers use it. The
only drivers that remain different are the Intel ones
as they need to negotiate more with the firmware.

The module parameter rtw_fw_support_lps is misleading. It
is not used to represent the firmware's property, but to
determine if driver wants to ask firmware to enter LPS.
However, driver should better enable/disable PS through
cfg80211_ops::set_power_mgmt instead.
For example, one could use iw command to set PS state.
$ sudo iw wlanX set power_save [on/off]
So rtw_fw_support_lps should be removed because it is
misleading and useless. Instead of checking the parameter,
set PS mode according to IEEE80211_CONF_PS.

Compare with LCLK mode, PG mode saves more power, by turning
off more circuits. Therefore, to recover from PG mode, driver
needs to backup some information into rsvd page. Such as CAM
entries, DPK results.
As CAM entries can change, it is required to re-download CAM
entries after set_key.

Add a module parameter to select deep PS mode. And the mode
cannot be changed after the module has been inserted and probed.
If anyone wants to change the deep mode, should change the mode
and probe the device again to setup the changed deep mode.
When the device is probed, driver will check the deep PS mode
with different IC's PS mode suppotability. If none of the
PS mode is matched, the deep PS mode is changed to NONE,
means deep PS is disabled.

Deep power save allows firmware/hardware to operate in a
lower power state. And the deep power save mode depends on
LPS mode. So, before entering deep PS, driver must first
enter LPS mode.
Under Deep PS, most of hardware functions are shutdown,
driver will not be able to read/write registers and transfer
data to the device. Hence TX path must be protected by each
interface. Take PCI for example, DMA engine should be idle,
and no nore activities on the PCI bus.
If driver wants to operate on the device, such as register
read/write, it must first acquire the mutex lock and wake
up from Deep PS, otherwise the behavior is undefined.

Dynamic mechanism requires BB/RF working to adjust
hardware settings. But PS state periodically turns
off BB/RF, could lead to wrong setting.
So leave PS state before DM to make sure it works.
And then check if we can enter PS state again.

The original design of LPS enter/leave routines allows
to control the LPS state by each interface. But the
hardware cannot actually handle it that way. This means
the hardware can only enter LPS once with an associated
port, so there is no need to keep tracking the state of
each vif.
Hence the logic of enter/leave LPS state can be simple,
just to check the state of the device's flag. And for
leaving LPS state, it will get the same port id to send
to inform the hardware.

Remove PS related *_irqsafe functions to avoid entering/leaving PS
under interrupt context. Instead, make PS decision in watch_dog.
This could simplify the logic and make the code look clean.
But it could have a little side-effect that if the driver is having
heavy traffic before the every-2-second watch_dog detect the traffic
and decide to leave PS, the thoughput will be lower. Once traffic is
detected by watch_dog and left PS state, the throughput will resume
to the peak the hardware ought to have again.

If the driver doesn't reset the host's and device's indexes
in a single write, the indexes will become different in a
short period. And it will confuse the DMA engine, make it
start to process non-existed entries.
Better to Write-1-to-reset the indexes, for the DMA engine
to know that this is a reset of the H2C queue, not a kick
off.

After firmware has been downloaded, driver should send
some information to it through H2C commands. Those H2C
commands are transmitted through TX path.
But before HCI has been started, the TX path is not
working completely. Such as PCI interfaces, the interrupts
are not enabled, hence TX interrupts will not be issued
after H2C skb has been DMAed to the device. And the H2C
skbs will not be released until the device is powered off.

Interrupt is disabled to stop PCI, which means the skbs
queued for each TX ring will not be released via DMA
interrupt. To avoid those skbs remained being left in
the skb queue until PCI has been removed, driver needs
to release skbs by itself.

Report chains and chain_signal in ieee80211_rx_status.
It is useful for program such as tcpdump to see if the
antennas are well connected/placed.
8822C is able to receive CCK rates with 2 antennas, while
8822B can only use 1 antenna path to receive CCK rates.

This mechanism reduces the numbers of false alram in cck rate by
dynamically adjusting the value of power threshold and cs_ratio.
We determine the new value by three factors, which are rssi, false alarm
count and igi. Based on these factors, we define the current condition
into five levels. Compared to the previous level, if the level is changed,
we set the new values for power threshold and cs_ratio.

Since 8822c requires to do not only IQK, but also DPK.
Move these calibrations that need to be done once the channel
is determined, into phy_calibration.
And note that the order of the calibrations matters, 8822c
should do IQK first, then DPK.

Power amplifiers are not linear components, and require DPK to
reduce its nonlinearity. DPK is called Digital Pre-distortion
Calibration, can be used to compensate the output of power.
DPK tracking is in charge of tracking the thermal changes. And
it then shifts the power curve accordingly, which makes the
power output remains linear even if the PA works in different
temperature.
To perform DPK, the parameter table should also be updated.
And the table will be applied when device is powered on.
Then DPK will reference the values to calibrate.

Add support for doing IQK in firmware
Ideally the RF component's I/Q vectors should be orthogonal,
but usually they are not. So we need to calibrate for the RF
components, ex. PA/LNA, ADC/DAC.
And if the I/Q vectors are more orthogonal, the mixed signal
will have less deviation. This helps with those rates with
higher modulation (MCS8-9), because they have more strict
EVM/SNR requirement. Also the better of the quality of the
signal, the longer it can propagate, and the better throughput
performance we can get.

Enable 8822C Tx/Rx interrupt migration.
In some platforms, performance test may cause heavy cpu loading and get
bad results. Interrupt migration can decrease the amount of interrupts,
and lower cpu loading.

MSI interrupt should be enabled on certain platform.
Add a module parameter disable_msi to disable MSI interrupt,
driver will then use legacy interrupt instead.
One could rebind the PCI device, probe() will pick up the
new value of the module parameter. Such as:

There is a mass of jobs between spin lock and unlock in the hardware
IRQ which will occupy much time originally. To make system work more
efficiently, this patch moves the jobs to the soft IRQ (bottom half) to
reduce the time in hardware IRQ.

Both RTL8822BE/RTL8822CE are WiFi + BT combo chips. Since
WiFi and BT use 2.4GHz to transmit, it is important to
make sure they run concurrently without interfering each
other. To achieve this, WiFi driver requires a mechanism
to collaborate with BT, whether they share the antenna(s)
or not.
The final decision made by the co-existence mechanism is
to choose a proper strategy, or called "tdma/table", and
inform either firmware or hardware of the strategy.
To choose a strategy, co-existence mechanism needs to
have enough information from WiFi and BT.
BT information is provided through firmware C2H.
The contents describe the current status of BT, such as
if BT is connected or is idle, or the profile that is
being used.
WiFi information can be provided by WiFi itself. The WiFi
driver will call various of "notify" functions each time
the state of WiFi changed, such as WiFi is going to switch
channel or is connected. Also WiFi driver can know if it
shares antenna with BT by reading efuse content. Antenna
configuration of the module will finally get a different
strategy.
Upon receiving any information from WiFi or BT, the WiFi
driver will run the co-existence mechanism immediately.
It will set the RF antenna configuration according to the
strategy through the TDMA H2C to firmware and a hardware
table. Based on the tdma/table, WiFi + BT should work with
each other, and having a better user experience.

C2H commands that cannot be handled in IRQ context should
be protected by rtwdev->mutex. Because they might have a
sequece of hardware operations that does not want to be
interfered.
