mtd: spi-nor: Sort headers alphabetically
Sort headers alphabetically - it helps locating duplicates, and makes it
easier to figure out where to insert new headers. Alphabetic order should
also prove that each header is self-contained, i.e. can be included without

mtd: spi-nor: Fix shift-out-of-bounds in spi_nor_set_erase_type
spi_nor_set_erase_type() was used either to set or to mask out an erase
type. When we used it to mask out an erase type a shift-out-of-bounds
was hit:
UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in drivers/mtd/spi-nor/core.c:2237:24
shift exponent 4294967295 is too large for 32-bit type 'int'

The setting of the size_{shift, mask} and of the opcode are unnecessary
when the erase size is zero, as throughout the code just the erase size
is considered to determine whether an erase type is supported or not.
Setting the opcode to 0xFF was wrong too as nobody guarantees that 0xFF
is an unused opcode. Thus when masking out an erase type, just set the
erase size to zero. This will fix the shift-out-of-bounds.

4d57a7333e ubi: ubi_wl_put_peb: Fix infinite loop when wear-leveling work failed

                          e1 = rb_entry(rb_first(&ubi->used)

a240bc5c43 ubi: Fix UAF wear-leveling entry in eraseblk_count_seq_show()
Wear-leveling entry could be freed in error path, which may be accessed
again in eraseblk_count_seq_show(), for example:

__erase_worker                eraseblk_count_seq_show
                                wl = ubi->lookuptbl[*block_number]
				if (wl)
  wl_entry_destroy
    ubi->lookuptbl[e->pnum] = NULL
    kmem_cache_free(ubi_wl_entry_slab, e)
		                   erase_count = wl->ec  // UAF!

Wear-leveling entry updating/accessing in ubi->lookuptbl should be
protected by ubi->wl_lock, fix it by adding ubi->wl_lock to serialize
wl entry accessing between wl_entry_destroy() and
eraseblk_count_seq_show().

76f9476ece ubi: fastmap: Fix missed fm_anchor PEB in wear-leveling after disabling fastmap
After disabling fastmap(ubi->fm_disabled = 1), fastmap won't be updated,
fm_anchor PEB is missed being scheduled for erasing. Besides, fm_anchor
PEB may have smallest erase count, it doesn't participate wear-leveling.
The difference of erase count between fm_anchor PEB and other PEBs will
be larger and larger later on.

In which situation fastmap can be disabled? Initially, we have an UBI
image with fastmap. Then the image will be atttached without module
parameter 'fm_autoconvert', ubi turns to full scanning mode in one
random attaching process(eg. bad fastmap caused by powercut), ubi
fastmap is disabled since then.

Fix it by not getting fm_anchor if fastmap is disabled in
ubi_refill_pools().

2de203d8ab ubi: Fix permission display of the debugfs files
Some interface files in debugfs support the read method
dfs_file_read(), but their rwx permissions is shown as
unreadable.

In the user mode, the following problem can be clearly seen:

 # ls -l /sys/kernel/debug/ubi/ubi0/
 total 0
 --w------- 1 root root 0 Oct 22 16:26 chk_fastmap
 --w------- 1 root root 0 Oct 22 16:26 chk_gen
 --w------- 1 root root 0 Oct 22 16:26 chk_io
 -r-------- 1 root root 0 Oct 22 16:26 detailed_erase_block_info
 --w------- 1 root root 0 Oct 22 16:26 tst_disable_bgt
 --w------- 1 root root 0 Oct 22 16:26 tst_emulate_bitflips
 --w------- 1 root root 0 Oct 22 16:26 tst_emulate_io_failures
 --w------- 1 root root 0 Oct 22 16:26 tst_emulate_power_cut
 --w------- 1 root root 0 Oct 22 16:26 tst_emulate_power_cut_max
 --w------- 1 root root 0 Oct 22 16:26 tst_emulate_power_cut_min

It shows that these files do not have read permission 'r',
but we can actually read their contents.

 # echo 1 > /sys/kernel/debug/ubi/ubi0/chk_io
 # cat /sys/kernel/debug/ubi/ubi0/chk_io
 1

User's permission access is determined by capabilities.
Of course, the root user is not restricted from reading
these files.

When reading a debugfs file, the process is as follows:

 ksys_read()
   vfs_read()
     if (file->f_op->read)
       file->f_op->read()
         full_proxy_open()
           real_fops->read()
             dfs_file_read() -- Read method of debugfs file.
     else if (file->f_op->read_iter)
       new_sync_read()
     else
       ret = -EINVAL -- Return -EINVAL if no read method.

This indicates that the debugfs file can be read as long as the read
method of the debugfs file is registered. This patch adds the read
permission display for file that support the read method.

c15859bfd3 ubi: Fix possible null-ptr-deref in ubi_free_volume()
It willl cause null-ptr-deref in the following case:

uif_init()
  ubi_add_volume()
    cdev_add() -> if it fails, call kill_volumes()
    device_register()

kill_volumes() -> if ubi_add_volume() fails call this function
  ubi_free_volume()
    cdev_del()
    device_unregister() -> trying to delete a not added device,
			   it causes null-ptr-deref

So in ubi_free_volume(), it delete devices whether they are added
or not, it will causes null-ptr-deref.

Handle the error case whlie calling ubi_add_volume() to fix this
problem. If add volume fails, set the corresponding vol to null,
so it can not be accessed in kill_volumes() and release the
resource in ubi_add_volume() error path.

7af73882dd ubi: fastmap: Add fastmap control support for module parameter
The UBI driver can use the IOCTL to disable the fastmap after the
mainline 669d204469 ("ubi: fastmap: Add fastmap control support
for 'UBI_IOCATT' ioctl"). To destroy the fastmap on a old image,
we need to reattach the device in user space.

However, if the UBI driver build in kernel and the UBI volume is
the root partition, the UBI device cannot be reattached in user
space. To disable fastmap in this case, the UBI must provide the
kernel cmdline parameters to disable fastmap during attach.

This patch add 'enable_fm' as 5th module init parameter of mtd=xx to
control fastmap enable or not. When the value is 0, fastmap will not
create and existed fastmap will destroyed for the given ubi device.
Default value is 0.

To enable or disable fastmap during module loading, fm_autoconvert
must be set to non-zero.

+-----------------+---------------+---------------------------+
|        \        |  enable_fm=0  |  enable_fm=1              |
+-----------------+---------------+---------------------------+
|fm_autoconvert=Y |  disable fm   |  enable fm                |

|                 |               | exists on the old image   |

Example:
  # - Attach mtd1 to ubi1, disable fastmap, mtd2 to ubi2, enable
      fastmap.
  # modprobe ubi mtd=1,0,0,1,0 mtd=2,0,0,2,1 fm_autoconvert=1

  # - If 5th parameter is not specified, the value is 0, fastmap is

b56265257d mtd: rawnand: fsl_elbc: Propagate HW ECC settings to HW
It is possible that current chip->ecc.engine_type value does not match to
configured HW value (if HW ECC checking and generating is enabled or not).

This can happen with old U-Boot bootloader version which either does not
initialize NAND (and let it in some default unusable state) or initialize
NAND with different parameters than what is specified in kernel DTS file.

So if kernel chose to use some chip->ecc.engine_type settings (e.g. from
DTS file) then do not depend on bootloader HW configuration and configures
HW ECC settings according to chip->ecc.engine_type value.

BR_DECC must be set to BR_DECC_CHK_GEN when HW is doing ECC (both
generating and checking), or to BR_DECC_OFF when HW is not doing ECC.

This change fixes usage of SW ECC support in case bootloader explicitly
enabled HW ECC support and kernel DTS file has specified to use SW ECC.
(Of course this works only in case when NAND is not a boot device and both
bootloader and kernel are loaded from different location, e.g. FLASH NOR.)

003fe4b954 mtd: rawnand: Support for sequential cache reads
Add support for sequential cache reads for controllers using the generic
core helpers for their fast read/write helpers.

Sequential reads may reduce the overhead when accessing physically
continuous data by loading in cache the next page while the previous
page gets sent out on the NAND bus.

The ONFI specification provides the following additional commands to
handle sequential cached reads:

* 0x31 - READ CACHE SEQUENTIAL:
  Requires the NAND chip to load the next page into cache while keeping
  the current cache available for host reads.
* 0x3F - READ CACHE END:
  Tells the NAND chip this is the end of the sequential cache read, the
  current cache shall remain accessible for the host but no more
  internal cache loading operation is required.

On the bus, a multi page read operation is currently handled like this:

	00 -- ADDR1 -- 30 -- WAIT_RDY (tR+tRR) -- DATA1_IN
	00 -- ADDR2 -- 30 -- WAIT_RDY (tR+tRR) -- DATA2_IN
	00 -- ADDR3 -- 30 -- WAIT_RDY (tR+tRR) -- DATA3_IN

Sequential cached reads may instead be achieved with:

	00 -- ADDR1 -- 30 -- WAIT_RDY (tR) -- \
		       31 -- WAIT_RDY (tRCBSY+tRR) -- DATA1_IN \
		       31 -- WAIT_RDY (tRCBSY+tRR) -- DATA2_IN \
		       3F -- WAIT_RDY (tRCBSY+tRR) -- DATA3_IN

Below are the read speed test results with regular reads and
sequential cached reads, on NXP i.MX6 VAR-SOM-SOLO in mapping mode with
a NAND chip characterized with the following timings:
* tR: 20 µs
* tRCBSY: 5 µs
* tRR: 20 ns
and the following geometry:
* device size: 2 MiB
* eraseblock size: 128 kiB
* page size: 2 kiB

============= Normal read @ 33MHz =================
mtd_speedtest: eraseblock read speed is 15633 KiB/s
mtd_speedtest: page read speed is 15515 KiB/s
mtd_speedtest: 2 page read speed is 15398 KiB/s
===================================================

========= Sequential cache read @ 33MHz ===========
mtd_speedtest: eraseblock read speed is 18285 KiB/s
mtd_speedtest: page read speed is 15875 KiB/s
mtd_speedtest: 2 page read speed is 16253 KiB/s
===================================================

We observe an overall speed improvement of about 5% when reading
2 pages, up to 15% when reading an entire block. This is due to the
~14us gain on each additional page read (tR - (tRCBSY + tRR)).

68c18dae68 mtd: rawnand: marvell: add missing layouts
A missing layouts were added to the driver to support NAND flashes
with ECC layouts of 12 or 16 with page sized of 2048, 4096 or 8192.

Usually theses are rare layouts, but in Marvell AC5 driver, the ECC
level is set according to the spare area, so we may use these layouts
more frequently.

d19ab1f785 mtd: cfi: allow building spi-intel standalone
When MTD or MTD_CFI_GEOMETRY is disabled, the spi-intel driver
fails to build, as it includes the shared CFI header:

include/linux/mtd/cfi.h:62:2: error: #warning No CONFIG_MTD_CFI_Ix selected. No NOR chip support can work. [-Werror=cpp]
   62 | #warning No CONFIG_MTD_CFI_Ix selected. No NOR chip support can work.

linux/mtd/spi-nor.h does not actually need to include cfi.h, so
remove the inclusion here to fix the warning. This uncovers a
missing #include in spi-nor/core.c so add that there to
prevent a different build issue.

Merge tag 'random-6.2-rc1-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/crng/random

Pull random number generator updates from Jason Donenfeld:

 - Replace prandom_u32_max() and various open-coded variants of it,
   there is now a new family of functions that uses fast rejection
   sampling to choose properly uniformly random numbers within an
   interval:

       get_random_u32_below(ceil) - [0, ceil)
       get_random_u32_above(floor) - (floor, U32_MAX]
       get_random_u32_inclusive(floor, ceil) - [floor, ceil]

   Coccinelle was used to convert all current users of
   prandom_u32_max(), as well as many open-coded patterns, resulting in
   improvements throughout the tree.

   I'll have a "late" 6.1-rc1 pull for you that removes the now unused
   prandom_u32_max() function, just in case any other trees add a new
   use case of it that needs to converted. According to linux-next,
   there may be two trivial cases of prandom_u32_max() reintroductions
   that are fixable with a 's/.../.../'. So I'll have for you a final
   conversion patch doing that alongside the removal patch during the
   second week.

   This is a treewide change that touches many files throughout.

 - More consistent use of get_random_canary().

 - Updates to comments, documentation, tests, headers, and
   simplification in configuration.

 - The arch_get_random*_early() abstraction was only used by arm64 and
   wasn't entirely useful, so this has been replaced by code that works
   in all relevant contexts.

 - The kernel will use and manage random seeds in non-volatile EFI
   variables, refreshing a variable with a fresh seed when the RNG is
   initialized. The RNG GUID namespace is then hidden from efivarfs to
   prevent accidental leakage.

   These changes are split into random.c infrastructure code used in the
   EFI subsystem, in this pull request, and related support inside of
   EFISTUB, in Ard's EFI tree. These are co-dependent for full
   functionality, but the order of merging doesn't matter.

 - Part of the infrastructure added for the EFI support is also used for
   an improvement to the way vsprintf initializes its siphash key,
   replacing an sleep loop wart.

 - The hardware RNG framework now always calls its correct random.c
   input function, add_hwgenerator_randomness(), rather than sometimes
   going through helpers better suited for other cases.

 - The add_latent_entropy() function has long been called from the fork
   handler, but is a no-op when the latent entropy gcc plugin isn't
   used, which is fine for the purposes of latent entropy.

   But it was missing out on the cycle counter that was also being mixed
   in beside the latent entropy variable. So now, if the latent entropy
   gcc plugin isn't enabled, add_latent_entropy() will expand to a call
   to add_device_randomness(NULL, 0), which adds a cycle counter,
   without the absent latent entropy variable.

 - The RNG is now reseeded from a delayed worker, rather than on demand
   when used. Always running from a worker allows it to make use of the
   CPU RNG on platforms like S390x, whose instructions are too slow to
   do so from interrupts. It also has the effect of adding in new inputs
   more frequently with more regularity, amounting to a long term
   transcript of random values. Plus, it helps a bit with the upcoming
   vDSO implementation (which isn't yet ready for 6.2).

 - The jitter entropy algorithm now tries to execute on many different
   CPUs, round-robining, in hopes of hitting even more memory latencies
   and other unpredictable effects. It also will mix in a cycle counter
   when the entropy timer fires, in addition to being mixed in from the
   main loop, to account more explicitly for fluctuations in that timer
   firing. And the state it touches is now kept within the same cache
   line, so that it's assured that the different execution contexts will
   cause latencies.

6408cc05a5 mtd: rawnand: Drop obsolete dependencies on COMPILE_TEST
Since commit 0166dc11be ("of: make CONFIG_OF user selectable"), it
is possible to test-build any driver which depends on OF on any
architecture by explicitly selecting OF. Therefore depending on
COMPILE_TEST as an alternative is no longer needed.

It is actually better to always build such drivers with OF enabled,
so that the test builds are closer to how each driver will actually be
built on its intended target. Building them without OF may not test
much as the compiler will optimize out potentially large parts of the
code. In the worst case, this could even pop false positive warnings.
Dropping COMPILE_TEST here improves the quality of our testing and
avoids wasting time on non-existent issues.

4dc49062a7 mtd: spi-nor: gigadevice: gd25q256: replace gd25q256_default_init with gd25q256_post_bfpt
When utilizing PARSE_SFDP to initialize the flash parameter, the
deprecated initializing method spi_nor_init_params_deprecated() and the
function spi_nor_manufacturer_init_params() within it will never be
executed, which results in the default_init hook function will also never
be executed.

This is okay for 'D' generation of GD25Q256, because 'D' generation is
implementing the JESD216B standards, it has QER field defined in BFPT,
parsing the SFDP can properly set the quad_enable function. The 'E'
generation also implements the JESD216B standards, and it has the same
status register definitions as 'D' generation, parsing the SFDP to set
the quad_enable function should also work for 'E' generation.

However, the same thing can't apply to 'C' generation. 'C' generation
'GD25Q256C' implements the JESD216 standards, and it doesn't have the
QER field defined in BFPT, since it does have QE bit in status register
1, the quad_enable hook needs to be tweaked to properly set the
quad_enable function, this can be done in post_bfpt fixup hook.

advantage: If the flash is found in the database, the ID could be

flashes still holds valuable information in the bytes after the JEDEC ID
and come in handy during debugging of when coping with INFO6() entries.

c13bf589e5 mtd: rawnand: marvell: Enable NFC/DEVBUS arbiter
The CN9130 SoC (an ARMADA 8K type) has both a NAND Flash Controller and
a generic local bus controller (Device Bus Controller) that share common
pins.
With a board design that incorporates both a NAND flash and uses
the Device Bus (in our case for an SRAM) accessing the Device Bus device
fails unless the NfArbiterEn bit is set. Setting the bit enables
arbitration between the Device Bus and the NAND flash.
Since there is no obvious downside in enabling this for designs that
don't require arbitration, we always enable it.

085679b15b mtd: parsers: refer to ARCH_BCMBCA instead of ARCH_BCM4908
Commit dd5c672d7c ("arm64: bcmbca: Merge ARCH_BCM4908 to ARCH_BCMBCA")
removes config ARCH_BCM4908 as config ARCH_BCMBCA has the same intent.

Probably due to concurrent development, commit 002181f5b1 ("mtd: parsers:
add Broadcom's U-Boot parser") introduces 'Broadcom's U-Boot partition
parser' that depends on ARCH_BCM4908, but this use was not visible during
the config refactoring from the commit above. Hence, these two changes
create a reference to a non-existing config symbol.

Adjust the MTD_BRCM_U_BOOT definition to refer to ARCH_BCMBCA instead of
ARCH_BCM4908 to remove the reference to the non-existing config symbol
ARCH_BCM4908.

Pull more random number generator updates from Jason Donenfeld:
 "This time with some large scale treewide cleanups.

  The intent of this pull is to clean up the way callers fetch random
  integers. The current rules for doing this right are:

   - If you want a secure or an insecure random u64, use get_random_u64()

   - If you want a secure or an insecure random u32, use get_random_u32()

     The old function prandom_u32() has been deprecated for a while
     now and is just a wrapper around get_random_u32(). Same for
     get_random_int().

   - If you want a secure or an insecure random u16, use get_random_u16()

   - If you want a secure or an insecure random u8, use get_random_u8()

   - If you want secure or insecure random bytes, use get_random_bytes().

     The old function prandom_bytes() has been deprecated for a while
     now and has long been a wrapper around get_random_bytes()

   - If you want a non-uniform random u32, u16, or u8 bounded by a
     certain open interval maximum, use prandom_u32_max()

     I say "non-uniform", because it doesn't do any rejection sampling
     or divisions. Hence, it stays within the prandom_*() namespace, not
     the get_random_*() namespace.

     I'm currently investigating a "uniform" function for 6.2. We'll see
     what comes of that.

  By applying these rules uniformly, we get several benefits:

   - By using prandom_u32_max() with an upper-bound that the compiler
     can prove at compile-time is ≤65536 or ≤256, internally
     get_random_u16() or get_random_u8() is used, which wastes fewer
     batched random bytes, and hence has higher throughput.

   - By using prandom_u32_max() instead of %, when the upper-bound is
     not a constant, division is still avoided, because
     prandom_u32_max() uses a faster multiplication-based trick instead.

   - By using get_random_u16() or get_random_u8() in cases where the
     return value is intended to indeed be a u16 or a u8, we waste fewer
     batched random bytes, and hence have higher throughput.

  This series was originally done by hand while I was on an airplane
  without Internet. Later, Kees and I worked on retroactively figuring
  out what could be done with Coccinelle and what had to be done
  manually, and then we split things up based on that.

  So while this touches a lot of files, the actual amount of code that's
  hand fiddled is comfortably small"

197173db99 treewide: use get_random_bytes() when possible
The prandom_bytes() function has been a deprecated inline wrapper around
get_random_bytes() for several releases now, and compiles down to the
exact same code. Replace the deprecated wrapper with a direct call to
the real function. This was done as a basic find and replace.

f743f16c54 treewide: use get_random_{u8,u16}() when possible, part 2
Rather than truncate a 32-bit value to a 16-bit value or an 8-bit value,
simply use the get_random_{u8,u16}() functions, which are faster than
wasting the additional bytes from a 32-bit value. This was done by hand,
identifying all of the places where one of the random integer functions
was used in a non-32-bit context.

  - DT binding updates for memory controllers, older Rockchip
    SoCs, various Mediatek devices, Qualcomm SCM firmware

  - Minor updates to Hisilicon LPC bus, the Allwinner SRAM
    driver, the Apple rtkit firmware driver, Tegra firmware

  - Minor updates for SoC drivers (Samsung, Mediatek, Renesas,
    Tegra, Qualcomm, Broadcom, NXP, ...)

 There are also some separate subsystem with downstream maintainers that
 merge updates this way:

  - Various updates and new drivers in the memory controller
    subsystem for Mediatek and Broadcom SoCs

  - Small set of changes in preparation to add support for FF-A

4a575865c1 mtd: allow getting MTD device associated with a specific DT node
MTD subsystem API allows interacting with MTD devices (e.g. reading,
writing, handling bad blocks). So far a random driver could get MTD
device only by its name (get_mtd_device_nm()). This change allows
getting them also by a DT node.

This API is required for drivers handling DT defined MTD partitions in a
specific way (e.g. U-Boot (sub)partition with environment variables).

669d204469 ubi: fastmap: Add fastmap control support for 'UBI_IOCATT' ioctl
[1] suggests that fastmap is suitable for large flash devices. Module
parameter 'fm_autoconvert' is a coarse grained switch to enable all
ubi devices to generate fastmap, which may turn on fastmap even for
small flash devices.

This patch imports a new field 'disable_fm' in struct 'ubi_attach_req'
to support following situations by ioctl 'UBI_IOCATT'.
 [old functions]
 A. Disable 'fm_autoconvert': Disbable fastmap for all ubi devices
 B. Enable 'fm_autoconvert': Enable fastmap for all ubi devices
 [new function]
 C. Enable 'fm_autoconvert', set 'disable_fm' for given device: Don't
    create new fastmap and do full scan (existed fastmap will be
    destroyed) for the given ubi device.

A simple test case in [2].

1e4d3ba668 mtd: rawnand: meson: fix the clock
EMMC and NAND have the same clock control register named 'SD_EMMC_CLOCK'
which is defined in EMMC port internally. bit0~5 of 'SD_EMMC_CLOCK' is
the divider and bit6~7 is the mux for fix pll and xtal. At the beginning,
a common MMC and NAND sub-clock was discussed and planed to be implemented
as NFC clock provider, but now this series of patches of a common MMC and
NAND sub-clock are never being accepted. the reasons for giving up are:
1. EMMC and NAND, which are mutually exclusive anyway
2. coupling the EMMC and NAND.
3. it seems that a common MMC and NAND sub-clock is over engineered.

3e4ad3212c mtd: rawnand: meson: fix bit map use in meson_nfc_ecc_correct()
The meson_nfc_ecc_correct() function accidentally does a right shift
instead of a left shift so it only works for BIT(0). Also use
BIT_ULL() because "correct_bitmap" is a u64 and we want to avoid
shift wrapping bugs.

095bb6e44e mtdchar: add MEMREAD ioctl
User-space applications making use of MTD devices via /dev/mtd*
character devices currently have limited capabilities for reading data:

  - only deprecated methods of accessing OOB layout information exist,

  - there is no way to explicitly specify MTD operation mode to use; it
    is auto-selected based on the MTD file mode (MTD_FILE_MODE_*) set
    for the character device; in particular, this prevents using
    MTD_OPS_AUTO_OOB for reads,

  - all existing user-space interfaces which cause mtd_read() or
    mtd_read_oob() to be called (via mtdchar_read() and
    mtdchar_read_oob(), respectively) return success even when those
    functions return -EUCLEAN or -EBADMSG; this renders user-space
    applications using these interfaces unaware of any corrected
    bitflips or uncorrectable ECC errors detected during reads.

Note that the existing MEMWRITE ioctl allows the MTD operation mode to
be explicitly set, allowing user-space applications to write page data
and OOB data without requiring them to know anything about the OOB
layout of the MTD device they are writing to (MTD_OPS_AUTO_OOB). Also,
the MEMWRITE ioctl does not mangle the return value of mtd_write_oob().

Add a new ioctl, MEMREAD, which addresses the above issues. It is
intended to be a read-side counterpart of the existing MEMWRITE ioctl.
Similarly to the latter, the read operation is performed in a loop which
processes at most mtd->erasesize bytes in each iteration. This is done
to prevent unbounded memory allocations caused by calling kmalloc() with
the 'size' argument taken directly from the struct mtd_read_req provided
by user space. However, the new ioctl is implemented so that the values
it returns match those that would have been returned if just a single
mtd_read_oob() call was issued to handle the entire read operation in
one go.

Note that while just returning -EUCLEAN or -EBADMSG to user space would
already be a valid and useful indication of the ECC algorithm detecting
errors during a read operation, that signal would not be granular enough
to cover all use cases. For example, knowing the maximum number of
bitflips detected in a single ECC step during a read operation performed
on a given page may be useful when dealing with an MTD partition whose
ECC layout varies across pages (e.g. a partition consisting of a
bootloader area using a "custom" ECC layout followed by data pages using
a "standard" ECC layout). To address that, include ECC statistics in
the structure returned to user space by the new MEMREAD ioctl.

7bea605692 mtd: add ECC error accounting for each read request
Extend struct mtd_req_stats with two new fields holding the number of
corrected bitflips and uncorrectable errors detected during a read
operation. This is a prerequisite for ultimately passing those counters
to user space, where they can be useful to applications for making
better-informed choices about moving data around.

Unlike 'max_bitflips' (which is set - in a common code path - to the
return value of a function called while the MTD device's mutex is held),
these counters have to be maintained in each MTD driver which defines
the '_read_oob' callback because the statistics need to be calculated
while the MTD device's mutex is held.
