According to disable Documentation/admin-guide/kernel-parameters.txt, this parameter can be used to disable kernel modesetting. DRM drivers will not perform display-mode changes or accelerated rendering and only the system framebuffer will be available if it was set-up. But only a few DRM drivers currently check for nomodeset, make this driver to also support the command line parameter. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
