This patch adds the ability to extract MT slot data via a new ioctl,
EVIOCGMTSLOTS. The function returns an array of slot values for the
specified ABS_MT event type.
Example of user space usage:

The new ASoC dynamic PCM core needs to create PCMs and substreams that are
for use by internal ASoC drivers only and not visible to userspace for
direct IO. These new PCMs are similar to regular PCMs expect they have no
device nodes or procfs entries. The ASoC component drivers use them in exactly
the same way as regular PCMs for PCM and DAI operations.
The intention is that a dynamic PCM based driver will register both regular
PCMs and internal PCMs. The regular PCMs will be used for all IO with userspace
however the internal PCMs will be used by the driver to route digital audio
through numerous back end DAI links (with potentially a DSP providing different
hw_params, DAI formats based on the regular front end PCM params) to devices
like CODECs, MODEMs, Bluetooth, FM, DMICs, etc
This patch adds a new snd_pcm_new_internal() API call to create the internal PCM
without device nodes or procfs. It also adds adds a new internal flag to snd_pcm.

This patch (as1507) adds a skip_vpd_pages flag to struct scsi_device
and a no_report_luns flag to struct scsi_target. The first is used to
control whether sd will look at VPD pages for information on block
provisioning, limits, and characteristics. The second prevents
scsi_report_lun_scan() from issuing a REPORT LUNS command.
The patch also modifies usb-storage to set the new flag bits for all
USB devices and targets, and to stop adjusting the scsi_level value.
Historically we have seen that USB mass-storage devices often don't
support VPD pages or REPORT LUNS properly. Until now we have avoided
these things by setting the scsi_level to SCSI_2 for all USB devices.
But this has the side effect of storing the LUN bits into the second
byte of each CDB, and now we have a report of a device which doesn't
like that. The best solution is to stop abusing scsi_level and
instead have separate flags for VPD pages and REPORT LUNS.

For HS transport the maximum message size depends on the MTU-size
of the HS-device bound to the AF_IUCV socket. This patch adds a
getsockopt option MSGSIZE returning the maximum message size that
can be handled for this AF_IUCV socket.

This patch saves the net_device in the iucv_sock structure during
bind in order to fasten skb sending.
In addition some other small improvements are made for HS transport:
- error checking when sending skbs
- locking changes in afiucv_hs_callback_txnotify
- skb freeing in afiucv_hs_callback_txnotify
And finally it contains code cleanup to get rid of iucv_skb_queue_purge.

RSC_VIRTIO_CFG isn't being used, so remove it.
Originally it was introduced to overcome a resource table limitation
that prevented describing a virtio device in a single resource table
entry.
The plan though is to describe resource table entries in a TLV fashion,
where each entry will consume the amount of space it requires,
so the original limitation is anyway temporary.

Add a virtio-based inter-processor communication bus, which enables
kernel drivers to communicate with entities, running on remote
processors, over shared memory using a simple messaging protocol.
Every pair of AMP processors share two vrings, which are used to send
and receive the messages over shared memory.
The header of every message sent on the rpmsg bus contains src and dst
addresses, which make it possible to multiplex several rpmsg channels on
the same vring.
Every rpmsg channel is a device on this bus. When a channel is added,
and an appropriate rpmsg driver is found and probed, it is also assigned
a local rpmsg address, which is then bound to the driver's callback.
When inbound messages carry the local address of a bound driver,
its callback is invoked by the bus.
This patch provides a kernel interface only; user space interfaces
will be later exposed by kernel users of this rpmsg bus.

Modern SoCs typically employ a central symmetric multiprocessing (SMP)
application processor running Linux, with several other asymmetric
multiprocessing (AMP) heterogeneous processors running different instances
of operating system, whether Linux or any other flavor of real-time OS.
Booting a remote processor in an AMP configuration typically involves:
- Loading a firmware which contains the OS image
- Allocating and providing it required system resources (e.g. memory)
- Programming an IOMMU (when relevant)
- Powering on the device
This patch introduces a generic framework that allows drivers to do
that. In the future, this framework will also include runtime power
management and error recovery.

The IP_UNICAST_IF feature is needed by the Wine project. This patch
implements the feature by setting the outgoing interface in a similar
fashion to that of IP_MULTICAST_IF. A separate option is needed to
handle this feature since the existing options do not provide all of
the characteristics required by IP_UNICAST_IF, a summary is provided
below.
SO_BINDTODEVICE:
* SO_BINDTODEVICE requires administrative privileges, IP_UNICAST_IF
does not. From reading some old mailing list articles my
understanding is that SO_BINDTODEVICE requires administrative
privileges because it can override the administrator's routing
settings.
* The SO_BINDTODEVICE option restricts both outbound and inbound
traffic, IP_UNICAST_IF only impacts outbound traffic.
IP_PKTINFO:
* Since IP_PKTINFO and IP_UNICAST_IF are independent options,
implementing IP_UNICAST_IF with IP_PKTINFO will likely break some
applications.
* Implementing IP_UNICAST_IF on top of IP_PKTINFO significantly
complicates the Wine codebase and reduces the socket performance
(doing this requires a lot of extra communication between the
"server" and "user" layers).
bind():
* bind() does not work on broadcast packets, IP_UNICAST_IF is
specifically intended to work with broadcast packets.
* Like SO_BINDTODEVICE, bind() restricts both outbound and inbound
traffic.

The keeplocked variable in the cdrom driver is shared across multiple
drives, but set in per-device ioctls. Move it to the per-device struct,
avoiding that the setting on one drive affects the driver's behavior
when closing another.
[ Impact: limit udev's confusion to one drive when a CD burning program
unlocks the CD door at the end of burning. ]

Plug merge calls two elevator callbacks outside queue lock -
elevator_allow_merge_fn() and elevator_bio_merged_fn(). Although
attempt_plug_merge() suggests that elevator is guaranteed to be there
through the existing request on the plug list, nothing prevents plug
merge from calling into dying or initializing elevator.
For regular merges, bypass ensures elvpriv count to reach zero, which
in turn prevents merges as all !ELVPRIV requests get REQ_SOFTBARRIER
from forced back insertion. Plug merge doesn't check ELVPRIV, and, as
the requests haven't gone through elevator insertion yet, it doesn't
have SOFTBARRIER set allowing merges on a bypassed queue.
This, for example, leads to the following crash during elevator
switch.

There are multiple ways to fix this including making plug merge check
ELVPRIV; however,
* Calling into elevator outside queue lock is confusing and
error-prone.
* Requests on plug list aren't known to the elevator. They aren't on
the elevator yet, so there's no elevator specific state to update.
* Given the nature of plug merges - collecting bio's for the same
purpose from the same issuer - elevator specific restrictions aren't
applicable.
So, simply don't call into elevator methods from plug merge by moving
elv_bio_merged() from bio_attempt_*_merge() to blk_queue_bio(), and
using blk_try_merge() in attempt_plug_merge().
This is based on Jens' patch to skip elevator_allow_merge_fn() from
plug merge.
Note that this makes per-cgroup merged stats skip plug merging.

blk_rq_merge_ok() is the elevator-neutral part of merge eligibility
test. blk_try_merge() determines merge direction and expects the
caller to have tested elv_rq_merge_ok() previously.
elv_rq_merge_ok() now wraps blk_rq_merge_ok() and then calls
elv_iosched_allow_merge(). elv_try_merge() is removed and the two
callers are updated to call elv_rq_merge_ok() explicitly followed by
blk_try_merge(). While at it, make rq_merge_ok() functions return
bool.
This is to prepare for plug merge update and doesn't introduce any
behavior change.
This is based on Jens' patch to skip elevator_allow_merge_fn() from
plug merge.

The qdisc supports two operations - plug and unplug. When the
qdisc receives a plug command via netlink request, packets arriving
henceforth are buffered until a corresponding unplug command is received.
Depending on the type of unplug command, the queue can be unplugged
indefinitely or selectively.
This qdisc can be used to implement output buffering, an essential
functionality required for consistent recovery in checkpoint based
fault-tolerance systems. Output buffering enables speculative execution
by allowing generated network traffic to be rolled back. It is used to
provide network protection for Xen Guests in the Remus high availability
project, available as part of Xen.
This module is generic enough to be used by any other system that wishes
to add speculative execution and output buffering to its applications.
This module was originally available in the linux 2.6.32 PV-OPS tree,
used as dom0 for Xen.

put_io_context() performed a complex trylock dancing to avoid
deferring ioc release to workqueue. It was also broken on UP because
trylock was always assumed to succeed which resulted in unbalanced
preemption count.
While there are ways to fix the UP breakage, even the most
pathological microbench (forced ioc allocation and tight fork/exit
loop) fails to show any appreciable performance benefit of the
optimization. Strip it out. If there turns out to be workloads which
are affected by this change, simpler optimization from the discussion
thread can be applied later.

Retval not very useful, and may even be harmful. Once submitted, fabrics
should expect a sense error if anything goes wrong. All fabrics checking
of this retval are useless or broken:
fc checks it just to emit more debug output.
ib_srpt trickles retval up, then it is ignored.
qla2xxx trickles it up, which then causes a bug because the abort goto
in qla_target.c thinks cmd hasn't been sent to target.
Just returning nothing is best.

This patch removes the CONFIG_NFS_USE_NEW_IDMAPPER compile option.
First, the idmapper will attempt to map the id using /sbin/request-key
and nfsidmap. If this fails (if /etc/request-key.conf is not configured
properly) then the idmapper will call the legacy code to perform the
mapping. I left a comment stating where the legacy code begins to make
it easier for somebody to remove in the future.

Since the scheme of limiting the number of TCP slots to whatever will
fit in the current TCP window seems to be working well (Andy reports
getting within 20% of the 'iperf' send performance on a 10GigE link)
we should just let that be the default mode of operation.
Users may still set their own limits using the tcp_max_slot_table_entries
parameter if they need to.

Setting the task name is done within setup_new_exec() by accessing
bprm->filename. However this happens after flush_old_exec().
This may result in a use after free bug, flush_old_exec() may
"complete" vfork_done, which will wake up the parent which in turn
may free the passed in filename.
To fix this add a new tcomm field in struct linux_binprm which
contains the now early generated task name until it is used.

Just like skb->cb[], so that qdisc_skb_cb can be encapsulated inside
of other data structures.
This is intended to be used by IPoIB so that it can remember
addressing information stored at hard_header_ops->create() time that
it can fetch when the packet gets to the transmit routine.

Currently, mac80211 goes to idle-off before starting a scan.
However, some devices that implement hw scan might not
need going idle-off in order to perform a hw scan, and
thus saving some energy and simplifying their state machine.
(Note that this is also the case for sched scan - it
currently doesn't make mac80211 go idle-off)
Add a new flag to indicate support for hw scan while idle.

Some SoCs have a PCIe host controller to make it possible to attach
some other devices to it, like an other Wifi card.
This code was tested with an Netgear WNDR3400 (bcm4716 based), but
should work with all bcma based SoCs.

To track authenticated state seems to have been
a design mistake in cfg80211. It is possible to
have out of band authentication (FT), tracking
multiple authentications caused more problems
than it ever helped, and the implementation in
mac80211 is too complex.
Remove all this complexity, and let userspace
do whatever it wants to, mac80211 can deal with
that just fine. Association is still tracked of
course, but authentication no longer is. Local
auth state changes are thus no longer of value,
so ignore them completely.
This will also help implement SAE -- asking the
driver to do an authentication is now almost
equivalent to sending an authentication frame,
with the exception of shared key authentication
which is still handled completely.

Add a callback to notify the low-level driver whenever
the state of a station changes. The driver is only
notified when the station is actually in the mac80211
hash table, not for pre-insert state transitions.
To allow the driver to replace sta_add/remove calls
with this, call extra transitions with the NOTEXIST
state.
This callback can fail, so we need to be careful in
handling it when a station is inserted, particularly
in the IBSS case where we still keep the station entry
around for mac80211 purposes.

Allow for the operation of custom mixer and mux DAPM widgets that can call
snd_soc_dapm_mixer_update_power() and snd_soc_dapm_mux_update_power() directly
after updating their status. This is useful with complex DAPM Mixer operations
where we need to do additional work in addition to setting a few mixer register
bits.

This patch adds three trace points to the status routines
in the sunrpc state machine.
The goal of these trace points is to give an Admin
the ability to check on binding status or connection
status to see if there is a potential problem.
