90ab5ee941 module_param: make bool parameters really bool (drivers & misc)
module_param(bool) used to counter-intuitively take an int. In
fddd5201 (mid-2009) we allowed bool or int/unsigned int using a messy
trick.

It's time to remove the int/unsigned int option. For this version
it'll simply give a warning, but it'll break next kernel version.

71e58782d2 misc: Remove max8997-muic sysfs attributes
The 'switch' sysfs attribute is used for
showing and setting the switch state of the device.
However, setting it from the userspace focibly is not appropriate.
And showing the state can be handled from
other places (e.g. external connector) in a unified manner.
This patch removes the sysfs attribute.
Plus, uevent messages for interrupts are also removed.

Concurrent access to UART2/combo-interface by multiple protocol drivers such
as BT, FM and GPS caused issues during firmware download failure cases or
cases when the firmware download took longer than usual.

This was because of un-safe access to protos_registered & st_states.
Protecting this will also make the registration complete callback un-safe for
sleep.

b30f8bdcfa eeprom_93cx6: Add data direction control.
Some devices need to know if the data is to be output or read, so add a
data direction into the eeprom structure to tell the driver whether the
data line should be driven.

The user in this case is the Micrel KS8851 which has a direction
control for the EEPROM data line and thus needs to know whether
to drive it (writing) or to tristate it for receiving.

001ef5e455 drivers/misc/eeprom: fix dependecy on 'PPC_MPC5200_GPIO'
The driver for the DigsyMTC display configuration EEPROMs device got
added by commit 469dded183 ("misc/eeprom: add eeprom access driver for
digsy_mtc board"). Its Kconfig symbol depends on PPC_MPC5200_GPIO. But
at the time that driver got added PPC_MPC5200_GPIO was already renamed
to GPIO_MPC5200, by commit 6eae1ace68 ("gpio: Move mpc5200 gpio driver
to drivers/gpio").

So make this driver depend on GPIO_MPC5200. And since GPIO_MPC5200
itself implies that GPIOLIB is set, that dependency can be dropped.

ec400c9fab lis3lv02d: make regulator API usage unconditional
The regulator API contains a range of features for stubbing itself out
when not in use and for transparently restricting the actual effect of
regulator API calls where they can't be supported on a particular system
so that drivers don't need to individually implement this. Simplify the
driver slightly by making use of this idiom.

The only in tree user is ecovec24 which does not use the regulator API.

>From my POV, it looks like the hardware is not working as expected
and returns a bogus data rate. The driver doesn't check the result
and directly uses it as some sort of divisor in some places:

msleep(lis3->pwron_delay / lis3lv02d_get_odr());

Under this circumstances, this could very well cause the
"divide by zero" exception from above.

For now, I fixed it the easiest and most obvious way:
Check if the result is sane and if it isn't use a sane default
instead. I went for "100" in the latter case, simply because
/sys/devices/platform/lis3lv02d/rate returns it on a successful
boot.
