138b15ed87 drivers/net: remove all references to obsolete Ethernet-HOWTO
This howto made sense in the 1990s when users had to manually configure
ISA cards with jumpers or vendor utilities, but with the implementation
of PCI it became increasingly less and less relevant, to the point where
it has been well over a decade since I last updated it. And there is
no value in anyone else taking over updating it either.

However the references to it continue to spread as boiler plate text
from one Kconfig file into the next. We are not doing end users any
favours by pointing them at this old document, so lets kill it with
fire, once and for all, to hopefully stop any further spread.

No code is changed in this commit, just Kconfig help text.

7c12aa0877 amd-xgbe: Move the PHY support into amd-xgbe
The AMD XGBE device is intended to work with a specific integrated PHY
and that PHY is not meant to be a standalone PHY for use by other
devices. As such this patch removes the phylib driver and implements
the PHY support in the amd-xgbe driver (the majority of the logic from
the phylib driver is moved into the amd-xgbe driver).

Update the driver version to 1.0.1.

74a78b15e6 net: amd-xgbe: Add hardware dependency
The amd-xgbe driver currently only works with the Seattle SoC, which
is ARM64 architecture, so there is no point in building this driver on
other architectures except for build testing purpose. The dependency
list can be updated later if the driver ever supports other
architectures.

6e03f896b5 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Conflicts:
	drivers/net/vxlan.c
	drivers/vhost/net.c
	include/linux/if_vlan.h
	net/core/dev.c

The net/core/dev.c conflict was the overlap of one commit marking an
existing function static whilst another was adding a new function.

In the include/linux/if_vlan.h case, the type used for a local
variable was changed in 'net', whereas the function got rewritten
to fix a stacked vlan bug in 'net-next'.

In drivers/vhost/net.c, Al Viro's iov_iter conversions in 'net-next'
overlapped with an endainness fix for VHOST 1.0 in 'net'.

In drivers/net/vxlan.c, vxlan_find_vni() added a 'flags' parameter
in 'net-next' whereas in 'net' there was a bug fix to pass in the
correct network namespace pointer in calls to this function.

e9b106b8fb net: lance,ni64: don't build for ARM
The ni65 and lance ethernet drivers manually program the ISA DMA
controller that is only available on x86 PCs and a few compatible
systems. Trying to build it on ARM results in this error:

ni65.c: In function 'ni65_probe1':
ni65.c:496:62: error: 'DMA1_STAT_REG' undeclared (first use in this function)
     ((inb(DMA1_STAT_REG) >> 4) & 0x0f)
                                                              ^
ni65.c:496:62: note: each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in
ni65.c:497:63: error: 'DMA2_STAT_REG' undeclared (first use in this function)
     | (inb(DMA2_STAT_REG) & 0xf0);

The DMA1_STAT_REG and DMA2_STAT_REG registers are only defined for
alpha, mips, parisc, powerpc and x86, although it is not clear
which subarchitectures actually have them at the correct location.

This patch for now just disables it for ARM, to avoid randconfig
build errors. We could also decide to limit it to the set of
architectures on which it does compile, but that might look more
deliberate than guessing based on where the drivers build.

b85e4d8960 amd-xgbe: Change destination address filtering support
Currently the driver makes use of the additional mac address
registers in the hardware to provide perfect filtering. The
hardware can also have a set of hash table registers that can
be used for imperfect filtering. By using imperfect filtering
the additional mac address registers can be used for layer 2
filtering support. Use the hash table registers if the device
has them.

801c62d945 amd-xgbe: Add support for VLAN filtering
This patch adds support for (imperfect) filtering of
VLAN tag ids using a 16-bit filter hash table. When
VLANs are added, a 4-bit hash is calculated with the
result indicating the bit in the hash table to set.
This table is used by the hardware to drop packets with
a VLAN id that does not hash to a set bit in the table.

a1606c7dc6 net: Move MII out from under NET_CORE and hide it
All drivers that select MII also need to select NET_CORE because MII
depends on it. This is a bit ridiculous because NET_CORE is just a
menu option that doesn't enable any code by itself.

There is also no need for it to be a visible option, since its users
all select it.

1f1c7a5c1d drivers/net: delete old DEC depca ISA drivers support.
These are old ISA 10Mbit cards from the 1st 1/2 of the 1990s and
required manual jumper settings in order to configure them. Here
we remove them on the premise that they are no longer used in any
modern 3.9+ kernels.

483f777266 drivers/net: remove orphaned references to micro channel
We threw away the microchannel support, but the removal wasn't
completely trivial since there was namespace overlap with the

survived the deletion. This attempts to sweep those up and

aaba215ca0 MII: fix Kconfig dependencies for MII
MII Kconfig option is apart of the core networking drivers and
by default NET_CORE is enabled so drivers selecting MII will
have MII enabled as well. It was found using the randconfig
option during testing, MII would be selected but NET_CORE
could be disabled. This caused a dependency error.

Resolved the dependency by selecting NET_CORE when MII is
selected.

88f07484cc drivers/net/ethernet/*: Enabled vendor Kconfig options
Based on finds for Stephen Rothwell, where current defconfig's
enable a ethernet driver and it is not compiled due to the newly
added NET_VENDOR_* component of Kconfig.

This patch enables all the "new" Kconfig options so that current
defconfig's will continue to compile the expected drivers. In
addition, by enabling all the new Kconfig options does not add
any un-expected options.
