In the process of moving over from static board files to the device
tree, reset pins of peripheral reset pins should be handled by their
corresponding drivers.
Add a reset-gpio DT property to the cs4270 driver, and de-assert it
before probing the chip. The logic could be augmented some day to
re-assert it when codec is put to suspend.

Since jackdet only reports deltas it won't generate an interrupt on startup
when a jack is not present. This doesn't make a difference to userspace
but does mean we don't generate a notification via the internal notifier
chains. Fix that by scheduling a work to poll the chip after the clock is
enabled. Use an extremely large timeout since there's no urgency and we
don't want to report a false negative.

Since commit 38cbf9598f
("ASoC: core: Try to use regmap if the driver doesn't set up any I/O")
any ASoC codec which doesn't set codec::control_data is assumed
to use regmap. That doesn't work with AC97 so this workaround
sets the codec::control_data member to a random value to restore
proper behaviour.

Fix up mostly trivial conflicts, with the exception of
drivers/usb/host/ehci-omap.c in particular, which had some
re-organization of the reset sequence (commit 1a49e2ac96: "EHCI:
centralize controller initialization") that clashed with commit
2761a63945 ("mfd: USB: Fix the omap-usb EHCI ULPI PHY reset fix
issues").
In particular, commit 2761a63945 moved the usb_add_hcd() to the
*middle* of the reset sequence, which clashes fairly badly with the
reset sequence re-organization (although it could have been done inside
the new omap_ehci_init() function).
I left that part of commit 2761a63945 just undone.

There's a driver bug that sgtl5000 dapm widget kcontrols do not work.
e.g. can not select capture mux with amixer tool(no error info prompted).
The root cause is that we still call snd_soc_dapm_new_widgets in
codec driver probe function afer converting to table based widgets.
This will cause the card dapm widgets are instantiated before the
dapm_routes are registered.
Then, no available dapm widget pathes can be found during instantiation
which finally will cause soc_dapm_mux_update_power to fail(can not find
correct path with kcontrol) in snd_soc_dapm_put_enum_double function.
Here we remove the unneeded snd_soc_dapm_new_widgets in codec probe
and let the soc core to handle the register sequence properly.
Then we can fix above issue.

data | (pll_p << PLLP_SHIFT));
In the above code, pll-p value is OR'ed with previous value without
clearing it. Bug is not seen if pll-p value doesn't change across
Sampling frequency.
However on some platforms (like AM335x EVM-SK), pll-p may have different
values across different sampling frequencies. In such case, above code
configures the pll with a wrong value.
Because of this bug, when a audio stream is played with pll value
different from previous stream, audio is heard as differently(like its
stretched).

There is only one caller and this allows us to cleanly leave the CODEC
with the internal LDO powered down which is the default state we're
looking for and means that we can robustly disable the register cache
only when we either disable the LDO or power down the external
regulators.

Even though the WM8904 is able to use idle_bias_off during both probe
and resume we were needlessly leaving the device in standby mode. Instead
power the device down as soon as we've confirmed that we can talk to it
and don't manage the bias level at all over suspend and resume, the core
will take us down to our minimum power level.

There's no reason to defer requesting of the interrupt until the CODEC
probe and doing so results in more work if we hit an error as we'll have
registered the CODEC with the core. It's neater to acquire as many of the
resources we'll need as we can in the bus probe function.

Rather than having varying timeouts depending on the transition always

Volume updates may not be acted upon if there is no clock applied when
the volume update is written. Ensure this doesn't happen by writing out
registers with volume updates after we enable each of the clocks.
There are more registers updated than before as previously we were
relying on wm_hubs to set those for controls it manages.

ASoC: Support TI Isabelle Audio driver
The Isabelle Audio IC is a complete low power high fidelity CODEC with integrated
ADCs, DACs, decimation and interpolation filters, PLL, and power providers. This
device supports 2 analog and 2 digital microphone channels, a mono earpiece driver,
stereo class G headphone drivers with ultra low power and best SNR in the industry,
stereo Class D speaker drivers, and 2 high performance Line drivers.
The below patch is a basic driver code for TI Isabelle audio codec. The
functionalities like headset detection, etc., will be included incrementally
in the up-coming patches.

This allows the GPIOs to be available as soon as the I2C device has
probed, which in turn enables machine drivers to request the GPIOs in
their probe(), rather than deferring this to their ASoC machine init
function, i.e. after the whole sound card has been constructed, and
hence the WM8903 codec is available.

streaming logic of USB-audio endpoints has been largely rewritten
for the better support of "implicit feedback". If anything about USB
got broken, this change has to be checked.

at resume. This is for buggy BIOS.
For ASoC, dynamic PCM support and the improved support for digital links

Introduce codec for HDMI. At the moment, this is a dummy codec. In the
future it will parse the EDID to modify the supported parameters, such
as the number of channels and the sample rates. At the moment, it blindly
supports all the sample rates and audio channels described in the HDMI
1.4a specification.

We're trying to remove all usage of the ASoc level cache and I/O code and
for a device like this with a pretty sparse register map the rbtree cache
is a better idea anyway.

None of the machines uses the gain ramp possibility for HS/HF.
This code path is mostly unused and it does not reduces the pop
noise on the output (it alters it to sound a bit different).
The preferred method to reduce pop noise is to use ABE.
Remove the gain ramp, and related features form the driver.

This patch improves playback quality for few sample rates like 8000 and
11025 Hz.
This also fixes an issue observed during testing of pll slave mode. Due
to the issue, on some rare occasions there was no sound output for first
time playback after system boot, though all subsequent playbacks were
fine. It was mainly because of the sequence in which SRM bit was
enabled.

Rather than invalidating the cached DCS value every time the headphone
gain changes store multiple values, indexed by gain. This allows the
optimisation we get from the cache to take effect more often.

Class W can be used for any path where only data from the DAC is routed
to the headphones. Currently we only enable it when the direct DAC to
headphone path is used but it can also be enabled for paths that go via
the output mixer providing the DAC is the only input to the output mixer.
Implement support for this, including updates to the class W status when
the output mixer configuration is changed. This also allows us to enable
the DC servo optimisations for DAC to headphone paths where the output
mixer is used.
In general the direct DAC path is still preferred as this will offer
better performance on most wm_hubs devices but these additional paths
can simplify use case management.

The optimisations which we can do with caching the headphone DCS result in
wm_hubs have only been enabled in cases where class W is enabled. However,
there are more use cases which can benefit from the cache, especially with
WM8994 series devices with their more advanced digital routing.
Rather than keying off the class W information from the CODECs have a
check in wm_hubs for a suitable path and use that to determine if we can
deploy our headphone optimisations.

This patch fixes a bug discovered during testing of non pll slave mode.
Due to the bug chip was not getting correctly configured and as a result
there was no sound output while playback. After applying this patch,
both pll and non pll modes work fine.

When we're not actively doing audio we don't need the microphone biases
to be regulated, noise is not important when we are not looking at the
audio signal. Save some power by putting the MICBIAS regulators into
bypass mode when not doing audio.

If FLL bypass is left enabled when we disable the CODEC then the output
clock will be left running which consumes a small amount of additional

Current DA7210 driver does support PLL mode fully. It uses fixed
value of input master clock and PLL mode is enabled and disabled based
on the sampling frequency being used for playback or recording. It also
doesn't support Sample Rate Measurement feature of DA7210 hardware.
This patch adds full support for PLL and SRM. Basically following three
modes of operation are possible for DA7210 hardware,
(1) I2S SLAVE mode with PLL bypassed
(2) I2S SLAVE mode with PLL enabled
(3) I2S Master mode with PLL enabled
This patch adds support for all three modes. Also, in case of SLAVE mode
with PLL, it supports SRM (Sample Rate Measurement) feature of the chip.
Actually this patch was submitted earlier and received some review
comments, but after that the driver got update by other patches. Because
of that, I am considering this as new patch and not versioning it based
of previous patches. This version tries to take care of all review
comments received for earlier submissions.

If cs42l73_get_mclkx_coeff() returns < 0 (which it can) in
sound/soc/codecs/cs42l73.c::cs42l73_set_mclk(), then we'll be using
the (negative) return value as array index on the very next line of
code - that's bad.
Catch the negative return value and propagate it to the caller (which
checks for it) and things are a bit more sane :-)

Rather than adding new arguments to regulator_register() every time we
want to add a new bit of dynamic information at runtime change the function
to take these via a struct. By doing this we avoid needing to do further
changes like the recent addition of device tree support which required each
regulator driver to be updated to take an additional parameter.
The regulator_desc which should (mostly) be static data is still passed
separately as most drivers are able to configure this statically at build
time.

In order to support CODEC<->CODEC links remove the assumption that there
is only a single CODEC on a DAI link by removing the use of the CODEC
pointer in the rtd from the CODEC drivers. They are already being passed
their DAI whenever they are passed an rtd and can get the CODEC from
there.

Some codecs namely Cirrus Logic Codecs have a way of wrapping the dB scale around 0dB without 0dB being in the middle.
Rework of SOC_DOUBLE_R_SX_TLV to be more consistent with other asoc tlv macros.
Add single register macro : SOC_SINGLE_SX_TLV.
Use snd_soc_info_volsw for .info
Use snd_soc_get_volsw_sx, snd_soc_put_volsw_sx for single and double.
kcontrols for CS42L51 and CS42L73 are adjusted to these new TLV Macros.
The max value is determined by: (number of steps) +1 for 0dB +max from codec datasheet.

As manual described, VAG is an internal voltage reference of DAC/ADC,
So enabled it before DAC/ADC up.
One more thing should care about is VAG fully ramped down requires 400ms,
wait it to avoid pop.

Rather than trying to work around machine drivers which try to reprogram
the FLL while it is providing SYSCLK just return an error if they try.
This will avoid audio glitches during FLL reconfiguration, or at least
move the introduction of the glitches to the machine driver.
Since disabling the source for an active SYSCLK is not supported in the
first place systems shouldn't be doing this in the first place.

This change adds the logic to support using the jack detect mechanism built
in to the codec to detect both when a jack was inserted and what type of
jack is present.
This change also supports the use of an external mechanism for headphone
detection. If this mechanism exists, when the max98095_jack_detect function
is called, the hp_jack is simply passed NULL.
This change supports both simple headphones, powered headphones, microphones
and headsets with both headphones and a mic.

DAPM now has a DAPM-level lock which it manages itself so we don't need
to take the CODEC mutex to call DAPM any more. Also remove a redundant
call to snd_soc_dapm_sync(), jack reporting also triggers a DAPM sync.

There's a couple of small features here that were added late on but have

machine to select between.
The optimal management of VMID depends on a number of factors which vary
dynamically at runtime, for example the connection to a system docking
station. In some circumstances it is desirable to keep VMID enabled all
the time, in others it is desirable to aggressively power it up and down.
Provide a callback allowing machine driver to configure either the normal
power up/down mode (WM8994_VMID_MODE_NORMAL) or to maintain VMID even
when idle (WM8994_VMID_MODE_FORCE). This callback, wm8994_vmid_mode(),
should be called with the CODEC lock.

Currently we can the accdet mutex from within DAPM when updating the device
state which means we take accdet then the CODEC mutex but we also do the
locking the other way around when responding to the jackdet IRQ. Move all
the jackdet use of the CODEC mutex out of the accdet lock to avoid this.
Since all the DAPM interactions depend only on a single threaded IRQ this
is still serialised.
The locking improvements in 3.5 allow a better solution there.

Early revisions of several of the WM8994 variants have register updates
to improve performance. Move these over to using the regmap patch system
instead of open coding them in the audio driver. Since the regmap init
is done by the MFD the code is moved there.

When an external capacitor is connected to MICBIAS2 on devices with
jack detection (which is not required but may be done in some systems)
then the loading may mean that better performance is obtained when
the microphone bias is enabled normally rather than using the low power
mode. Provide platform data allowing systems to indicate if they require
this.

Current ak4642 driver had wrong dapm settings for headphone L/R.
If you select headphone L, and select R after that,
headphone L setting was removed by R settings.

The WM8775 is register compatible with the WM8776 so can be supported with
the same driver though it is an ADC only part. Add the device ID to the
WM8776 driver, further updates will be added in the future.

The main role of the WM9081 is as a class D speaker amplifier so there
is no concern about pops. There are also very few registers and a fast
power up time so we can happily mark the driver as idle_bias_off.

Raise the ramp time to 50ms to cover corner cases, use the startup bias
generator, explicitly reset the ramp circuit when complete and reorder
things all of which should improve performance somewhat for systems that
are sensitive to noise from VMID.

The enable of the single ended line outputs on wm_hubs devices performs
better if the output is enabled prior to starting VMID. Since inactive
outputs are held at VMID anyway there is little cost to doing this for
unused outputs. Add callbacks into wm_hubs and keep track of which outputs
are really active so we can disable them once we're active.

Make the mechanism used for WM8994 more like that for WM1811 and WM8958:
provide the logic to distinguish between headphone and headset and hard
code the reporting of sensible SND_JACK values. Should integration with
other detection mechanisms be required we can add appropriate callbacks
(though some integrations should be able to use the subsystem ones).

Currently ASoC can only add kcontrols using codec and platform component device
handles. It's also desirable to add kcontrols for DAIs (i.e. McBSP) and for
SoC card machine drivers too. This allows the kcontrol to have a direct handle to
the parent ASoC component DAI/SoC Card/Platform/Codec device and hence easily
get it's private data.
This change makes snd_soc_add_controls() static and wraps it in the folowing
calls (card and dai are new) :-
snd_soc_add_card_controls()
snd_soc_add_codec_controls()
snd_soc_add_dai_controls()
snd_soc_add_platform_controls()
This patch also does a lot of small mechanical changes in individual codec drivers
to replace snd_soc_add_controls() with snd_soc_add_codec_controls().
It also updates the McBSP DAI driver to use snd_soc_add_dai_controls().
Finally, it updates the existing machine drivers that register controls to either :-
1) Use snd_soc_add_card_controls() where no direct codec control is required.
2) Use snd_soc_add_codec_controls() where there is direct codec control.
In the case of 1) above we also update the machine drivers to get the correct
component data pointers from the kcontrol (rather than getting the machine pointer
via the codec pointer).

Report any accessory with a low impedance as a headphone, previously
anything other than a short or microphone would not be reported at all.
The most likely reason is a microphone with incorrect polarity.

If we get an indeterminate impedance with both headset polarities then
give up and report the accessory as a headphone rather than continually
retrying.

Using pm_runtime to decide if the device should go into full power down
has the dual advantage of allowing easier integration with non-DAPM
reasons to power on the device (like the FLL) and allowing userspace to
control the final power down which is useful for tuning retention of
DSP firmware.

When the hardware is configured with one or both of the IN4 inputs used
for DC measurement (with no DC blocking capacitor connected) then we can
improve power consumption slightly in idle modes by applying a register
write sequence. Provide platform data to enable this, implemented using
a regmap patch.

In wm2000_i2c_probe(), if we take the true branch in

then we'll release_firmware(fw) at the 'err_fw' label. But we've already
done that just a few lines above. That's a use-after-free bug.
This patch restructures the code so that we always call
release_firmware(fw) before leaving the function, but only ever call
it once.
This means that we have to initialize 'fw' to NULL since some paths
may now end up calling it without having called request_firmware(),
but since request_firmware() deals gracefully with NULL pointers, we
are fine if we just NULL initialize it.

This will allow us to move the interrupt allocation out of the ASoC part
of the driver and simplifies the locking by removing any reliance in the
bulk of the interrupt path on the big CODEC lock.
