Pull integrity updates from James Morris:
 "This contains a mixture of bug fixes, code cleanup, and new
  functionality. Of note is the integrity cache locking fix, file change
  detection, and support for a new EVM portable and immutable signature
  type.

  The re-introduction of the integrity cache lock (iint) fixes the
  problem of attempting to take the i_rwsem shared a second time, when
  it was previously taken exclusively. Defining atomic flags resolves
  the original iint/i_rwsem circular locking - accessing the file data
  vs. modifying the file metadata. Although it fixes the O_DIRECT
  problem as well, a subsequent patch is needed to remove the explicit
  O_DIRECT prevention.

  For performance reasons, detecting when a file has changed and needs
  to be re-measured, re-appraised, and/or re-audited, was limited to
  after the last writer has closed, and only if the file data has
  changed. Detecting file change is based on i_version. For filesystems
  that do not support i_version, remote filesystems, or userspace
  filesystems, the file was measured, appraised and/or audited once and
  never re-evaluated. Now local filesystems, which do not support
  i_version or are not mounted with the i_version option, assume the
  file has changed and are required to re-evaluate the file. This change
  does not address detecting file change on remote or userspace
  filesystems.

  Unlike file data signatures, which can be included and distributed in
  software packages (eg. rpm, deb), the existing EVM signature, which
  protects the file metadata, could not be included in software
  packages, as it includes file system specific information (eg. i_ino,
  possibly the UUID). This pull request defines a new EVM portable and
  immutable file metadata signature format, which can be included in
  software packages"

9798f5178f The is the bulk of GPIO changes for the v4.16 kernel cycle.
Core changes:
 
 - Disallow open drain and open source flags to be set
   simultaneously. This doesn't make electrical sense, and would
   the hardware actually respond to this setting, the result
   would be short circuit.
 
 - ACPI GPIO has a new core infrastructure for handling quirks.
   The quirks are there to deal with broken ACPI tables centrally
   instead of pushing the work to individual drivers. In the world
   of BIOS writers, the ACPI tables are perfect. Until they find a
   mistake in it. When such a mistake is found, we can patch it
   with a quirk. It should never happen, the problem is that it
   happens. So we accomodate for it.
 
 - Several documentation updates.
 
 - Revert the patch setting up initial direction state from
   reading the device. This was causing bad things for drivers
   that can't read status on all its pins. It is only affecting
   debugfs information quality.
 
 - Label descriptors with the device name if no explicit label is
   passed in.
 
 - Pave the ground for transitioning SPI and regulators to use
   GPIO descriptors by implementing some quirks in the device tree
   GPIO parsing code.
 
 New drivers:
 
 - New driver for the Access PCIe IDIO 24 family.
 
 Other:
 
 - Major refactorings and improvements to the GPIO mockup driver
   used for test and verification.
 
 - Moved the AXP209 driver over to pin control since it gained a
   pin control back-end. These patches will appear (with the same
   hashes) in the pin control pull request as well.
 
 - Convert the onewire GPIO driver w1-gpio to use descriptors.
   This is merged here since the W1 maintainers send very few

This is mostly updates of the usual driver suspects: arcmsr,
 scsi_debug, mpt3sas, lpfc, cxlflash, qla2xxx, aacraid, megaraid_sas,
 hisi_sas.  We also have a rework of the libsas hotplug handling to
 make it more robust, a slew of 32 bit time conversions and fixes, and
 a host of the usual minor updates and style changes.  The biggest
 potential for regressions is the libsas hotplug changes, but so far
 they seem stable under testing.

12c69f1e94 x86/paravirt: Remove 'noreplace-paravirt' cmdline option
The 'noreplace-paravirt' option disables paravirt patching, leaving the
original pv indirect calls in place.

That's highly incompatible with retpolines, unless we want to uglify
paravirt even further and convert the paravirt calls to retpolines.

As far as I can tell, the option doesn't seem to be useful for much
other than introducing surprising corner cases and making the kernel
vulnerable to Spectre v2.  It was probably a debug option from the early
paravirt days.  So just remove it.

 First, we have converted the MMC block device from using the legacy blk
 interface into using the modern blkmq interface. Not only do we get all the
 nice effects from using blkmq, but it also means that new fresh nice code
 replaces old rusty code. Great news to everybody that cares about MMC/SD!
 
 It should also be noted that converting to blkmq has not been trivial, mostly
 because of that we have been carrying too much of MMC specific optimizations
 for the I/O request path, rather than striving to move these to the generic blk
 layer. Hopefully we won't be doing that mistake, ever again.

   - Define a PM driver flag allowing drivers to request that their
     devices be left in suspend after system-wide transitions to the
     working state if possible and add support for it to the PCI bus
     type and the ACPI PM domain (Rafael Wysocki).

   - Make the PM core carry out optimizations for devices with driver PM
     flags set in some cases and make a few drivers set those flags
     (Rafael Wysocki).

   - Fix and clean up wrapper routines allowing runtime PM device

     incorrectly and fix up a driver depending on that behavior of genpd

   - Fix and clean up the PM core's device wakeup framework and
     re-factor system-wide PM core code related to device wakeup

   - Make more x86-based systems use the Low Power Sleep S0 _DSM
     interface by default (to fix power button wakeup from
     suspend-to-idle on Surface Pro3) and add a kernel command line
     switch to tell it to ignore the system sleep blacklist in the ACPI

   - Fix a race condition related to cpufreq governor module removal and
     clean up the governor management code in the cpufreq core (Rafael
     Wysocki).

   - Drop the unused generic code related to the handling of the static
     power energy usage model in the CPU cooling thermal driver along
     with the corresponding documentation (Viresh Kumar).

   - Add mt2712 support to the Mediatek cpufreq driver (Andrew-sh
     Cheng).

   - Add a new operating point to the imx6ul and imx6q cpufreq drivers
     and switch the latter to using clk_bulk_get() (Anson Huang, Dong
     Aisheng).

   - Add support for multiple regulators to the TI cpufreq driver along
     with a new DT binding related to that and clean up that driver
     somewhat (Dave Gerlach).

   - Fix a powernv cpufreq driver regression leading to incorrect CPU
     frequency reporting, fix that driver to deal with non-continguous

    return from the BPF program with exit code 0. This was basically
    adopted from cBPF interpreter for historical reasons.
    There are multiple reasons why this is very suboptimal and prone
    to bugs. To name one: the return code mapping for such abnormal
    program exit of 0 does not always match with a suitable program
    type's exit code mapping. For example, '0' in tc means action 'ok'
    where the packet gets passed further up the stack, which is just
    undesirable for such cases (e.g. when implementing policy) and
    also does not match with other program types.
    After considering _four_ different ways to address the problem,
    we adapt the same behavior as on some major archs like ARMv8:
    X div 0 results in 0, and X mod 0 results in X. aarch64 and
    aarch32 ISA do not generate any traps or otherwise aborts
    of program execution for unsigned divides.
    Given the options, it seems the most suitable from
    all of them, also since major archs have similar schemes in
    place. Given this is all in the realm of undefined behavior,
    we still have the option to adapt if deemed necessary.

1d65b1c886 powerpc/cell: Remove axonram driver
The QS21/22 IBM Cell blades had a southbridge chip called Axon. This
could have DDR DIMMs attached to it, though they were not directly
usable as RAM, instead they could be used as some sort of buffer, if
applications were written specifically to use the block device
provided by the driver.

Although the driver supposedly had direct access support, it was
apparently never tested (see commit 91117a2024 ("axonram: Fix bug in
direct_access")).

These machines have not been available for over 5 years, and were
never widely in use. It seems highly unlikely anyone is using this
driver.

In general we're happy to leave old drivers in the tree, but because
DAX is involved this driver is caught up in the ongoing work in that
area, but none of the DAX folks are able to test it.

So remove the driver, if any one *is* using it, we'll be happy to put
it back.

On the other hand, correct and expand its description in the help of
the (internal) scripts/kconfig/conf.c

5b0d0033f3 Input: mms114 - drop platform data and use generic APIs
The MMS114 platform data has no in-tree users, so drop it.

Switch to using the standard touchscreen properties via
touchscreen_parse_properties(), and move the old DT parsing code
to use device_property_*() APIs.

Finally, use touchscreen_report_pos to report x/y coordinates
and drop the custom x/y inversion code.

regulator: added support for suspend states
Some systems need to set regulators to specific states when they enter
low power modes, especially around CPUs. There are many of these modes
depending on the particular runtime state.

Currently the regulator consumers are not granted permission to change
suspend state of regulator devices, the constraints are configured at
startup.  In order to allow changes in a vlotage range, we need to add
new properties for voltage range and a flag to give permission to
change the suspend voltage and suspend on/off in suspend mode.

f168f1098d ovl: add support for "nfs_export" configuration
Introduce the "nfs_export" config, module and mount options.

The NFS export feature depends on the "index" feature and enables two
implicit overlayfs features: "index_all" and "verify_lower".
The "index_all" feature creates an index on copy up of every file and
directory. The "verify_lower" feature uses the full index to detect
overlay filesystems inconsistencies on lookup, like redirect from
multiple upper dirs to the same lower dir.

NFS export can be enabled for non-upper mount with no index. However,
because lower layer redirects cannot be verified with the index, enabling
NFS export support on an overlay with no upper layer requires turning off
redirect follow (e.g. "redirect_dir=nofollow").

The full index may incur some overhead on mount time, especially when
verifying that lower directory file handles are not stale.

NFS export support, full index and consistency verification will be
implemented by following patches.

02d742f4b2 media: lirc: lirc daemon fails to detect raw IR device
Since commit 9b6192589b ("media: lirc: implement scancode sending"),
and commit de142c3241 ("media: lirc: implement reading scancode")
the lirc features ioctl for raw IR devices advertises two modes for
sending and receiving.

The lirc daemon now fails to detect a raw IR device, both for transmit
and receive.

To fix this, do not advertise the scancode mode in the lirc features
for raw IR devices (however do keep it for scancode devices). The mode
can still be used via the LIRC_SET_{REC,SEND}_MODE ioctl.

DAX is a coprocessor which resides on the SPARC M7 (DAX1) and M8
(DAX2) processor chips, and has direct access to the CPU's L3 caches
as well as physical memory. It can perform several operations on data
streams with various input and output formats.  This driver provides a
transport mechanism and has limited knowledge of the various opcodes
and data formats. A user space library provides high level services
and translates these into low level commands which are then passed
into the driver and subsequently the hypervisor and the coprocessor.
The library is the recommended way for applications to use the
coprocessor, and the driver interface is not intended for general use.

3214d01f13 KVM: PPC: Book3S: Provide information about hardware/firmware CVE workarounds
This adds a new ioctl, KVM_PPC_GET_CPU_CHAR, that gives userspace
information about the underlying machine's level of vulnerability
to the recently announced vulnerabilities CVE-2017-5715,
CVE-2017-5753 and CVE-2017-5754, and whether the machine provides
instructions to assist software to work around the vulnerabilities.

The ioctl returns two u64 words describing characteristics of the
CPU and required software behaviour respectively, plus two mask
words which indicate which bits have been filled in by the kernel,
for extensibility.  The bit definitions are the same as for the
new H_GET_CPU_CHARACTERISTICS hypercall.

There is also a new capability, KVM_CAP_PPC_GET_CPU_CHAR, which
indicates whether the new ioctl is available.

9b28a1102e dm thin: fix documentation relative to low water mark threshold
Fixes:
1. The use of "exceeds" when the opposite of exceeds, falls below,
was meant.
2. Properly speaking, a table can not exceed a threshold.

It emphasizes the important point, which is that it is the userspace
daemon's responsibility to check for low free space when a device
is resumed, since it won't get a special event indicating low free
space in that situation.

18a5bf2705 dm: add unstriped target
This device mapper "unstriped" target remaps and unstripes I/O so it
is issued solely on a single drive in a HW RAID0 or dm-striped target.

In a 4 drive HW RAID0 the striped target exposes 1/4th of the LBA range
as a virtual drive.  Each I/O to that virtual drive will only be issued
to the 1 drive that was selected of the 4 drives in the HW RAID0.

This unstriped target is most useful for Intel NVMe drives that have
multiple cores but that do not have firmware control to pin separate LBA
ranges to each discrete cpu core.

   programs were supported so far w/o being able to access maps.
   Offloaded programs are right now only allowed to perform map
   lookups, and control path is responsible for populating the
   maps. BPF core infrastructure along with nfp implementation is
   provided, from Jakub.

2) Various follow-ups to Josef's BPF error injections. More
   specifically that includes: properly check whether the error
   injectable event is on function entry or not, remove the percpu
   bpf_kprobe_override and rather compare instruction pointer
   with original one, separate error-injection from kprobes since
   it's not limited to it, add injectable error types in order to
   specify what is the expected type of failure, and last but not
   least also support the kernel's fault injection framework, all
   from Masami.

3) Various misc improvements and cleanups to the libbpf Makefile.
   That is, fix permissions when installing BPF header files, remove
   unused variables and functions, and also install the libbpf.h
   header, from Jesper.

4) When offloading to nfp JIT and the BPF insn is unsupported in the
   JIT, then reject right at verification time. Also fix libbpf with
   regards to ELF section name matching by properly treating the
   program type as prefix. Both from Quentin.

5) Add -DPACKAGE to bpftool when including bfd.h for the disassembler.
   This is needed, for example, when building libfd from source as
   bpftool doesn't supply a config.h for bfd.h. Fix from Jiong.

6) xdp_convert_ctx_access() is simplified since it doesn't need to
   set target size during verification, from Jesper.

7) Let bpftool properly recognize BPF_PROG_TYPE_CGROUP_DEVICE
   program types, from Roman.

8) Various functions in BPF cpumap were not declared static, from Wei.

9) Fix a double semicolon in BPF samples, from Luis.

c4e0842bf1 cgroup, docs: document the root cgroup behavior of cpu and io controllers
Currently, cgroups v2 documentation contains only a generic remark that
"How resource consumption in the root cgroup is governed is up to each
controller", which isn't really telling users much, who need to dig in the
code and / or commit messages to learn the exact behavior.

In cgroups v1 at least the blkio controller had its operation with respect
to competition between child threads and child cgroups documented in
blkio-controller.txt, with references to cfq-iosched.txt.
Also, cgroups v2 documentation describes v1 behavior of both cpu and
blkio controllers in an "Issues with v1" section.

Let's document this behavior also for cgroups v2 to make life easier for
users.

This part of Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) patch series focuses on KVM
changes required to create and manage SEV guests.

SEV is an extension to the AMD-V architecture which supports running encrypted
virtual machine (VMs) under the control of a hypervisor. Encrypted VMs have their
pages (code and data) secured such that only the guest itself has access to
unencrypted version. Each encrypted VM is associated with a unique encryption key;
if its data is accessed to a different entity using a different key the encrypted
guest's data will be incorrectly decrypted, leading to unintelligible data.
This security model ensures that hypervisor will no longer able to inspect or
alter any guest code or data.

The key management of this feature is handled by a separate processor known as
the AMD Secure Processor (AMD-SP) which is present on AMD SOCs. The SEV Key
Management Specification (see below) provides a set of commands which can be
used by hypervisor to load virtual machine keys through the AMD-SP driver.

The patch series adds a new ioctl in KVM driver (KVM_MEMORY_ENCRYPT_OP). The
ioctl will be used by qemu to issue SEV guest-specific commands defined in Key
Management Specification.

858a43aae2 KVM: X86: use paravirtualized TLB Shootdown
Remote TLB flush does a busy wait which is fine in bare-metal
scenario. But with-in the guest, the vcpus might have been pre-empted or
blocked. In this scenario, the initator vcpu would end up busy-waiting
for a long amount of time; it also consumes CPU unnecessarily to wake
up the target of the shootdown.

This patch set adds support for KVM's new paravirtualized TLB flush;
remote TLB flush does not wait for vcpus that are sleeping, instead
KVM will flush the TLB as soon as the vCPU starts running again.

The improvement is clearly visible when the host is overcommitted; in this
case, the PV TLB flush (in addition to avoiding the wait on the main CPU)
prevents preempted vCPUs from stealing precious execution time from the
running ones.

Testing on a Xeon Gold 6142 2.6GHz 2 sockets, 32 cores, 64 threads,
so 64 pCPUs, and each VM is 64 vCPUs.

5855564c8a KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: Enable migration of decrementer register
This adds a register identifier for use with the one_reg interface
to allow the decrementer expiry time to be read and written by
userspace.  The decrementer expiry time is in guest timebase units
and is equal to the sum of the decrementer and the guest timebase.
(The expiry time is used rather than the decrementer value itself
because the expiry time is not constantly changing, though the
decrementer value is, while the guest vcpu is not running.)

Without this, a guest vcpu migrated to a new host will see its
decrementer set to some random value.  On POWER8 and earlier, the
decrementer is 32 bits wide and counts down at 512MHz, so the
guest vcpu will potentially see no decrementer interrupts for up
to about 4 seconds, which will lead to a stall.  With POWER9, the
decrementer is now 56 bits side, so the stall can be much longer
(up to 2.23 years) and more noticeable.

To help work around the problem in cases where userspace has not been
updated to migrate the decrementer expiry time, we now set the
default decrementer expiry at vcpu creation time to the current time
rather than the maximum possible value.  This should mean an
immediate decrementer interrupt when a migrated vcpu starts
running.  In cases where the decrementer is 32 bits wide and more
than 4 seconds elapse between the creation of the vcpu and when it
first runs, the decrementer would have wrapped around to positive
values and there may still be a stall - but this is no worse than
the current situation.  In the large-decrementer case, we are sure
to get an immediate decrementer interrupt (assuming the time from
vcpu creation to first run is less than 2.23 years) and we thus
avoid a very long stall.

1532d9e87e raid5-ppl: PPL support for disks with write-back cache enabled
In order to provide data consistency with PPL for disks with write-back
cache enabled all data has to be flushed to disks before next PPL
entry. The disks to be flushed are marked in the bitmap. It's modified
under a mutex and it's only read after PPL io unit is submitted.

A limitation of 64 disks in the array has been introduced to keep data
structures and implementation simple. RAID5 arrays with so many disks are
not likely due to high risk of multiple disks failure. Such restriction
should not be a real life limitation.

With write-back cache disabled next PPL entry is submitted when data write
for current one completes. Data flush defers next log submission so trigger
it when there are no stripes for handling found.

As PPL assures all data is flushed to disk at request completion, just
acknowledge flush request when PPL is enabled.

bb48711800 arm64: cpu_errata: Add Kryo to Falkor 1003 errata
The Kryo CPUs are also affected by the Falkor 1003 errata, so
we need to do the same workaround on Kryo CPUs. The MIDR is
slightly more complicated here, where the PART number is not
always the same when looking at all the bits from 15 to 4. Drop
the lower 8 bits and just look at the top 4 to see if it's '2'
and then consider those as Kryo CPUs. This covers all the
combinations without having to list them all out.

   - initial objtool support for retpoline

  As I said in the status mail this is the most of the set of patches
  which should go into 4.15 except two straight forward patches still on

  Both should be ready to go early next week and with that we'll have
