56ac7bd2c5 Revert "scripts/faddr2line: Check only two symbols when calculating symbol size"
This reverts commit c02904f05f.

Such commit assumed that only two symbols are relevant for the symbol
size calculation. However, this can lead to an incorrect symbol size
calculation when there are mapping symbols emitted by readelf.

For instance, when feeding 'update_irq_load_avg+0x1c/0x1c4', faddr2line
might need to process the following readelf lines:

The symbol size of 'update_irq_load_avg' should be calculated with the
address of 'sched_pelt_multiplier', after skipping the mapping symbols
seen in between. However, the offending commit cuts the list short and
faddr2line incorrectly assumes 'update_irq_load_avg' is the last symbol
in the section, resulting in:

  $ scripts/faddr2line vmlinux update_irq_load_avg+0x1c/0x1c4
  skipping update_irq_load_avg address at 0xffffffc0081cca4c due to size mismatch (0x1c4 != 0x3ff9a59988)
  no match for update_irq_load_avg+0x1c/0x1c4

After reverting the commit the issue is resolved:

3bf19a0fb6 x86/unwind/orc: Fix unwind for newly forked tasks
When arch_stack_walk_reliable() is called to unwind for newly forked
tasks, the return value is negative which means the call stack is
unreliable. This obviously does not meet expectations.

The root cause is that after commit 3aec4ecb3d ("x86: Rewrite
 ret_from_fork() in C"), the 'ret_addr' of newly forked task is changed
to 'ret_from_fork_asm' (see copy_thread()), then at the start of the
unwind, it is incorrectly interprets not as a "signal" one because
'ret_from_fork' is still used to determine the initial "signal" (see
__unwind_start()). Then the address gets incorrectly decremented in the
call to orc_find() (see unwind_next_frame()) and resulting in the
incorrect ORC data.

To fix it, check 'ret_from_fork_asm' rather than 'ret_from_fork' in
__unwind_start().

As hinted by the error, this is because <sysroot>/include/linux/stddef.h
(a stripped-down version of uapi/include/linux/stddef.h) includes
linux/compiler_types.h directly. However, this gets resolved to
tools/include/linux/compiler_types.h, which is not expected to be
included directly.

To resolve this, I added tools/include/uapi to the include paths when
building objtool. With this trick, linux/stddef.h is resolved to
tools/include/uapi/linux/stddef.h, which doesn't include
linux/compiler_types.h.

ed1cb76ebd objtool: Detect non-relocated text references
When kernel IBT is enabled, objtool detects all text references in order
to determine which functions can be indirectly branched to.

In text, such references look like one of the following:

   mov    $0x0,%rax        R_X86_64_32S     .init.text+0x7e0a0
   lea    0x0(%rip),%rax   R_X86_64_PC32    autoremove_wake_function-0x4

Either way the function pointer is denoted by a relocation, so objtool
just reads that.

However there are some "lea xxx(%rip)" cases which don't use relocations
because they're referencing code in the same translation unit.  Objtool
doesn't have visibility to those.

The only currently known instances of that are a few hand-coded asm text
references which don't actually need ENDBR.  So it's not actually a
problem at the moment.

However if we enable -fpie, the compiler would start generating them and
there would definitely be bugs in the IBT sealing.

Detect non-relocated text references and handle them appropriately.

[ Note: I removed the manual static_call_tramp check -- that should
  already be handled by the noendbr check. ]

Here is a single driver core fix, and a .mailmap update, for 6.12-rc3.
 
 The fix is for the rust driver core bindings, turned out that the
 from_raw binding wasn't a good idea (don't want to pass a pointer to a
 reference counted object without actually incrementing the pointer.)  So
 this change fixes it up as the from_raw binding came in in -rc1.
 
 The other change is a .mailmap update.
 
 Both have been in linux-next for a while with no reported issues.

Fix rcuog kthread wakeup invocation from softirq context on a CPU
 which has been marked offline. This can happen when new callbacks
 are enqueued from a softirq on an offline CPU before it calls
 rcutree_report_cpu_dead(). When this happens on NOCB configuration,
 the rcuog wake-up is deferred through an IPI to an online CPU.
 This is done to avoid call into the scheduler which can risk
 arming the RT-bandwidth after hrtimers have been migrated out
 and disabled. However, doing IPI call from softirq is not allowed

Masami reported a bug when running function graph tracing then the
function profiler. The following commands would cause a kernel crash:

  # echo function_graph > current_tracer
  # echo 1 > function_profile_enabled

In that order. Create a test to test this two to make sure this does not
come back as a regression.

Commit ac9f97ff8b ("powerpc/8xx: Inconditionally use task PGDIR in
DTLB misses") relies on re-reading DAR register to know if an error is
due to a missing copy of a PMD entry in task's PGDIR, allthough DAR
was already read in the exception prolog and copied into thread
struct. This is because is it done very early in the exception and
there are not enough registers available to keep a pointer to thread
struct.

However, dcbz instruction is buggy and doesn't update DAR register on
fault. That is detected and generates a call to FixupDAR workaround
which updates DAR copy in thread struct but doesn't fix DAR register.

Let's fix DAR in addition to the update of DAR copy in thread struct.

6e0391e48c of: Skip kunit tests when arm64+ACPI doesn't populate root node
A root node is required to apply DT overlays. A root node is usually
present after commit 7b937cc243 ("of: Create of_root if no dtb
provided by firmware"), except for on arm64 systems booted with ACPI
tables. In that case, the root node is intentionally not populated
because it would "allow DT devices to be instantiated atop an ACPI base
system"[1].

Introduce an OF function that skips the kunit test if the root node
isn't populated. Limit the test to when both CONFIG_ARM64 and
CONFIG_ACPI are set, because otherwise the lack of a root node is a bug.
Make the function private and take a kunit test parameter so that it
can't be abused to test for the presence of the root node in non-test
code.

Use this function to skip tests that require the root node. Currently
that's the DT tests and any tests that apply overlays.

f7345ccc62 rcu/nocb: Fix rcuog wake-up from offline softirq
After a CPU has set itself offline and before it eventually calls
rcutree_report_cpu_dead(), there are still opportunities for callbacks
to be enqueued, for example from a softirq. When that happens on NOCB,
the rcuog wake-up is deferred through an IPI to an online CPU in order
not to call into the scheduler and risk arming the RT-bandwidth after
hrtimers have been migrated out and disabled.

But performing a synchronized IPI from a softirq is buggy as reported in
the following scenario:

delegate it to linux-wireless@, and avoid overwhelming netdev@.

7d3fce8cbe slip: make slhc_remember() more robust against malicious packets
syzbot found that slhc_remember() was missing checks against
malicious packets [1].

slhc_remember() only checked the size of the packet was at least 20,
which is not good enough.

We need to make sure the packet includes the IPv4 and TCP header
that are supposed to be carried.

Add iph and th pointers to make the code more readable.

This patch add a toy implementation that performs a simple return to
prevent such panic. This is because MSS can be set in sock_create_kern
or smc_setsockopt, similar to how it's done in AF_SMC. However, for
AF_SMC, there is currently no way to synchronize MSS within
__sys_connect_file. This toy implementation lays the groundwork for us
to support such feature for IPPROTO_SMC in the future.

aeb218d900 docs: netdev: document guidance on cleanup patches
The purpose of this section is to document what is the current practice
regarding clean-up patches which address checkpatch warnings and similar
problems. I feel there is a value in having this documented so others
can easily refer to it.

Clearly this topic is subjective. And to some extent the current
practice discourages a wider range of patches than is described here.
But I feel it is best to start somewhere, with the most well established
part of the current practice.

b5e837c860 phonet: Handle error of rtnl_register_module().
Before commit addf9b90de ("net: rtnetlink: use rcu to free rtnl
message handlers"), once the first rtnl_register_module() allocated
rtnl_msg_handlers[PF_PHONET], the following calls never failed.

However, after the commit, rtnl_register_module() could fail silently
to allocate rtnl_msg_handlers[PF_PHONET][msgtype] and requires error
handling for each call.

Handling the error allows users to view a module as an all-or-nothing
thing in terms of the rtnetlink functionality.  This prevents syzkaller
from reporting spurious errors from its tests, where OOM often occurs
and module is automatically loaded.

Let's use rtnl_register_many() to handle the errors easily.
