CPU page table update can happens for many reasons, not only as a result of a syscall (munmap(), mprotect(), mremap(), madvise(), ...) but also as a result of kernel activities (memory compression, reclaim, migration, ...). Users of mmu notifier API track changes to the CPU page table and take specific action for them. While current API only provide range of virtual address affected by the change, not why the changes is happening This patch is just passing down the new informations by adding it to the mmu_notifier_range structure. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
