Intent whiteouts will require extra work to be done during transaction commit if the transaction contains an intent done item. To determine if a transaction contains an intent done item, we want to avoid having to walk all the items in the transaction to check if they are intent done items. Hence when we add an intent done item to a transaction, tag the transaction to indicate that it contains such an item. We don't tag the transaction when the defer ops is relogging an intent to move it forward in the log. Whiteouts will never apply to these cases, so we don't need to bother looking for them. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
