mainlining shenanigans
Michal Kubecek says: ==================== netlink: strict attribute checking follow-up Three follow-up patches for recent strict netlink validation series. Patch 1 fixes dump handling for genetlink families which validate and parse messages themselves (e.g. because they need different policies for diferent commands). Patch 2 sets bad_attr in extack in one place where this was omitted. Patch 3 adds new NL_VALIDATE_NESTED flags for strict validation to enable checking that NLA_F_NESTED value in received messages matches expectations and includes this flag in NL_VALIDATE_STRICT. This would change userspace visible behavior but the previous switching to NL_VALIDATE_STRICT for new code is still only in net-next at the moment. v2: change error messages to mention NLA_F_NESTED explicitly ==================== Signed-off-by: David S. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
