Arnd Bergmann reported a bunch of warnings like: crypto/jitterentropy.o: warning: objtool: jent_fold_time()+0x3b: call without frame pointer save/setup crypto/jitterentropy.o: warning: objtool: jent_stuck()+0x1d: call without frame pointer save/setup crypto/jitterentropy.o: warning: objtool: jent_unbiased_bit()+0x15: call without frame pointer save/setup crypto/jitterentropy.o: warning: objtool: jent_read_entropy()+0x32: call without frame pointer save/setup crypto/jitterentropy.o: warning: objtool: jent_entropy_collector_free()+0x19: call without frame pointer save/setup and arch/x86/events/core.o: warning: objtool: collect_events uses BP as a scratch register arch/x86/events/core.o: warning: objtool: events_ht_sysfs_show()+0x22: call without frame pointer save/setup With certain rare configurations, GCC sometimes sets up the frame pointer with: lea (%rsp),%rbp instead of: mov %rsp,%rbp The instructions are equivalent, so treat the former like the latter. Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
