f287765680 drm/amd/display: Disallow enabling CRTC without primary plane with FB
The below commit

"drm/atomic: Try to preserve the crtc enabled state in drm_atomic_remove_fb, v2"

introduces a slight behavioral change to rmfb. Instead of disabling a crtc
when the primary plane is disabled, it now preserves it.

Since DC is currently not equipped to handle this we need to fail such
a commit, otherwise we might see a corrupted screen.

This is based on Shirish's previous approach but avoids adding all
planes to the new atomic state which leads to a full update in DC for
any commit, and is not what we intend.

Theoretically DM should be able to deal with states with fully populated planes,
even for simple updates, such as cursor updates. This should still be
addressed in the future.

b2f3f5920d drm/amd/display: Fix regamma not affecting full-intensity color values
Hardware understands the regamma LUT as a piecewise linear function,
with points spaced exponentially along the range. We previously
programmed the LUT for range [2^-10, 2^0). This causes (normalized)
color values of 1 (=2^0) to miss the programmed LUT, and fall onto the
end region.

For DCE, the end region is extrapolated using a single (base, slope)
pair, using the max y-value from the last point in the curve as base.
This presents a problem, since this value affects all three color
channels. Scaling down the intensity of say - the blue regamma curve -
will not affect it's end region. This is especially noticiable when
using RedShift. It scales down the blue and green channels, but leaves
full-intensity colors unshifted.

Therefore, extend the range to cover [2^-10, 2^1) by programming another
hardware segment, containing only one point. That way, we won't be
hitting the end region.

Note that things are a bit different for DCN, since the end region can
be set per-channel.

Fix:
In case of unblank stream and turn on edp, change brightness level in

a flag to recogonize this the case of resume from S3.

Planes with a higher ID appears above planes with a lower ID.

Currently the planes are enumerated in the wrong order,

This patch corrects the plane enumeration order such that all

Due to this change in order the dc_add_plane_to_context() shall

the parsing of planes in DM side itself.

36cc549d59 drm/amd/display: disable CRTCs with NULL FB on their primary plane (V2)
The below commit

"drm/atomic: Try to preserve the crtc enabled state in drm_atomic_remove_fb, v2"

843e3c7df6 drm/amd/display: defer modeset check in dm_update_planes_state
amdgpu_dm_atomic_check() is used to validate the entire configuration of
planes and crtc's that the user space wants to commit.

However amdgpu_dm_atomic_check() depends upon DRM_MODE_ATOMIC_ALLOW_MODESET

Its not mandatory for the user space to set DRM_MODE_ATOMIC_ALLOW_MODESET,
and in general its not set either along with DRM_MODE_ATOMIC_TEST_ONLY.

Considering its importantance, this patch defers the allow_modeset check
in dm_update_planes_state(), so that there shall be scope to validate
the configuration sent from user space, without impacting the population

c21b68c5eb drm/amd/display: defer modeset check in dm_update_planes_state
amdgpu_dm_atomic_check() is used to validate the entire configuration of
planes and crtc's that the user space wants to commit.

However amdgpu_dm_atomic_check() depends upon DRM_MODE_ATOMIC_ALLOW_MODESET
flag else its mostly dummy.
Its not mandatory for the user space to set DRM_MODE_ATOMIC_ALLOW_MODESET,
and in general its not set either along with DRM_MODE_ATOMIC_TEST_ONLY.

Considering its importantance, this patch defers the allow_modeset check
in dm_update_planes_state(), so that there shall be scope to validate
the configuration sent from user space, without impacting the population
of dc/dm related data structures.

aed7b06e49 drm/amd/display: When enabling CRC, disable dither & enable truncation
When user-mode is using 8bpc, the hardware represents it internally
using a higher bit depth. This causes problems when comparing CRCs for
color managment tests.

We need to disable dithering as well, since it makes CRC values
non-deterministic.

It's easy to see why dithering needs to be disabled, The reason why
truncation also needs to be enabled is better described with an example.
Consider the folowing which tests the color transform matrix (CTM):

Expected CRC = FB_A -> Degamma (Bypassed) -> CTM (Bypassed)
                                                  |
                                                  v
                            Obtain CRC <- Regamma(Bypassed)

Actual CRC = FB_B -> Degamma (Bypassed) -> CTM (0.5*Identity)
                                                  |
                                                  v
                            Obtain CRC <- Regamma(Bypassed)

FB_A contains a solid red color at half intensity (127 @ 8bpc)
FB_B contains a solid red color at full intensity (255 @ 8bpc)

We expect that Expected CRC = Actual CRC, but that's not the case. When
the CTM is applied, the output is at half intensity, but also at a
higher bit depth within hardware. i.e. 255/2 = 127.5: not representable
in 8bpc, but can be at 10bpc. This causes the two CRC's to be different.

The solution is to truncate the output bit depth to the same as input
when enabling CRC capture. Since Linux only supports 8bpc, hard code
that for now.

81875979f0 drm/amd/display: Remove extra pairs of parentheses in dce_calcs.c
The double parentheses are not needed. Removing them fixes multiple
warnings like this when building with clang:

drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/calcs/dce_calcs.c:617:42:
error: equality comparison with extraneous parentheses
    [-Werror,-Wparentheses-equality]
  if ((data->graphics_micro_tile_mode == bw_def_rotated_micro_tiling)) {
