a751b8e480 iio: chemical: atlas-sensor: add DO-SM module support
Atlas Scientific DO-SM OEM sensor reads disolved oxygen in
a solution. This is reported back as mg/L which maps directly
to ppm and so the IIO_CONCENTRATION channel type can be used.

4599cac846 iio: imu: inv_mpu6050: use runtime pm with autosuspend
Use runtime power management for handling chip power and
sensor engines on/off. Simplifies things a lot since pm
runtime already has reference counter.
Usage of autosuspend reduces the number of power on/off. This
makes polling interface now usable to get data at low
frequency.

3192ade7b6 iio: trigger: stm32-timer: enable clock when in master mode
Clock should be enabled as soon as using master modes, even before
enabling timer. Or, this may provoke bad behavior on the other end
(slave timer). Then, introduce 'clk_enabled' flag, instead of relying
on CR1 EN bit, to keep track of clock being enabled (balanced refcount).
Propagate this anywhere else in the driver.

Also add 'remove' routine to stop timer and disable clock in case it
has been left enabled. Enforce the user interface has been unregistered
in the remove routine, before disabling the hardware to avoid possible
race. So, remove use of devm_ variant to register triggers and unregister
them before the hardware gets disabled [1].

All actions done in `adis16480_initial_setup()` are now done in
`__adis_initial_startup()` so, there's no need for code duplication.
Furthermore, the call to `adis16480_initial_setup()` is done before any

being called after configuring the device which is obviously a problem.

1fd4567026 iio: imu: adis: add support product ID check in adis_initial_startup
Each driver/chip that wants to validate it's product id, can now
specify a 'prod_id_reg' and an expected 'prod_id' value.
The 'prod_id' value is intentionally left 0 (uninitialized). There aren't
(yet) any product IDs with value 0; this enforces that both 'prod_id_reg'
and 'prod_id' are specified.

At the very least, this routine validates that the SPI connection to the
ADIS chip[s] works well.

ecb010d441 iio: imu: adis: Refactor adis_initial_startup
All the ADIS devices perform, at the beginning, a self test to make sure
the device is in a sane state. Previously, the logic was that the self-test
was performed in adis_initial_startup() and if that failed a reset was done
and then a self-test was attempted again.

This change unifies the reset mechanism under the adis_initial_startup()
call. A HW reset will be done if GPIO is configured, or a SW reset
otherwise. This should make sure that the chip is in a sane state for
self-test. Once the reset is done, the self-test operation will be
performed. If anything goes wrong with self-test, the driver should just
bail/error-out (i.e. no second attempt). The chip would likely not be a in
a sane state state if the self-test fails after a reset.

97d642e230 iio: light: Add a driver for Sharp GP2AP002x00F
This driver handles two different Sharp sensors that have been
proposed for merging to the mainline kernel over the years, and
already has a limited proximity-only driver in the input
subsystem.

These components are completely different from the confusingly
similarly named Sharp GP2AP020A00F, for which we have a driver
in drivers/iio/light/gp2ap020a00f.c

The two components GP2AP002A00F and GP2AP002S00F are
distinctively different but similar: they share the same set of
registers but differ slightly in the I2C protocol.

Instead of the approach by the previous input driver, we create
a combined IIO proximity and light sensor driver.

The plan is to merge this driver and delete the input driver.

The pieces for the driver are picked all over the place after
researching and grepping through a few different vendor trees
and driver submissions.

We merge it under the light sensors because:

- It has similarities with the Capella CM3605 light sensor and
  proximity driver which is there.

- It is related to the GP2AP020A00F driver which is also there.

This driver was tested with the Samsung GT-S7710 mobile phone
which has the GP2AP002S00F proximity sensor mounted.

The suspend/resume cycle will disable the interrupt from the
sensor. If someone would desire to use this interrupt for
wakeup, the driver will need modifications.

At the moment, attempting to probe a device with ST_LSM6DS3_ID

    st_lsm6dsx_i2c 1-006b: unsupported whoami [69]

... even though 0x69 is the whoami listed for ST_LSM6DS3_ID.

This happens because st_lsm6dsx_check_whoami() also attempts
to match unspecified (zero-initialized) entries in the "id" array.
ST_LSM6DS3_ID = 0 will therefore match any entry in
st_lsm6dsx_sensor_settings (here: the first), because none of them
actually have all 12 entries listed in the "id" array.

Avoid this by additionally checking if "name" is set,
which is only set for valid entries in the "id" array.

This patch fixes device tree channel configuration.

ad7124 driver reads channels configuration from the device tree.
It expects to find channel specifications as child nodes.
Before this patch ad7124 driver assumed that the child nodes are parsed
by for_each_available_child_of_node in the order 0,1,2,3...

This is wrong and the real order of the children can be seen by running:
dtc -I fs /sys/firmware/devicetree/base on the machine.

For example, running this on an rpi 3B+ yields the real
children order: 4,2,0,7,5,3,1,6

Before this patch the driver assigned the channel configuration
like this:
        - 0 <- 4
        - 1 <- 2
        - 2 <- 0
        ........
For example, the symptoms can be observed by connecting the 4th channel
to a 1V tension and then reading the in_voltage0-voltage19_raw sysfs
(multiplied of course by the scale) one would see that channel 0
measures 1V and channel 4 measures only noise.

Now the driver uses the reg property of each child in order to
correctly identify to which channel the parsed configuration
belongs to.

380b107bbf iio: adis: Introduce timeouts structure
The adis library only allows to define a `startup_delay` which for some
devices is enough. However, other devices define different timeouts with
significantly different timings which could lead to devices to not wait
enough time or to wait a lot more than necessary (which is not
efficient). This patch introduces a new timeout struct that must be
passed into `adis_init()`. There are mainly, for now, three timeouts
used. This is also an introductory patch with the goal of refactoring
`adis_initial_startup()`. New driver's (eg: adis16480, adis16460) are
replicating code for the device initial setup. With some changes (being
this the first one) we can pass this to `adis_initial_startup()`.

This header file now only includes the cros_ec_dev struct, however, is the

This adds support for the BMA254 variant of this
accelerometer. The only difference for the simple IIO
driver is that values are 12 bit and the temperature
offset differs by 1 degree.

Whilst wildcards in naming are normally frowned upon:

The cases where I have labeled variables "25x" is where the
models are identical, so as to make things easier for people
that want to add support for BMA253 and BMA255.

It is implied that 'read' will read the first n bytes and not e.g. bytes

4538c18568 iio: buffer-dmaengine: Report buffer length requirements
The dmaengine buffer has some length alignment requirements that can differ
from platform to platform. If the length alignment requirements are not met
unexpected behavior like dropping of samples can occur.

Currently these requirements are not reported and applications need to know
the requirements of the platform by some out-of-band means.

Add a new buffer attribute that reports the length alignment requirements
called `length_align_bytes`. The reported length alignment is in bytes that
means the buffer length alignment in sample sets depends on the number of
enabled channels and the bytes per channel. Applications using this
attribute to determine the buffer size requirements need to consider this.

2c289e6394 iio: ak8975: Convert to use GPIO descriptor
The end-of-conversion (EOC) GPIO line is better to grab using
a GPIO descriptor. We drop the pdata for this: clients using board
files can use machine descriptor tables to pass this GPIO from
static data.

d93813520d iio: adc: ad799x: add pm_ops to disable the device completely
The device is always in a low-power state due to the hardware design. It
wakes up upon a conversion request and goes back into the low-power
state. The pm ops are added to disable the device completely and to free
the regulator. Disbaling the device completely should be not that
notable but freeing the regulator is important. Because if it is a shared
power-rail the regulator won't be disabled during suspend-to-ram/disk
and so all devices connected to that rail keeps on.

52241a082d iio: imu: inv_mpu6050: Select I2C_MUX again
commit f7072198f2 ("iio: imu: Fix inv_mpu6050 dependencies")
undid the explicit selection of I2C_MUX previously
done by the driver, because I2C_MUX implicitly depended
on HAS_IOMEM.

However commit 93d710a65e ("i2c: mux: fix up dependencies")
cleared up the situation properly and drivers that need
to select I2C_MUX can now do so again.

It makes a lot of sense for a driver to select the driver
infrastructure it needs so restore the natural order of
things.

Geert Uytterhoeven
9fd229c478 iio: adc: max9611: Fix too short conversion time delay
As of commit b9ddd50911 ("iio: adc: max9611: Fix temperature
reading in probe"), max9611 initialization sometimes fails on the
Salvator-X(S) development board with:

max9611 4-007f: Invalid value received from ADC 0x8000: aborting
max9611: probe of 4-007f failed with error -5

The max9611 driver tests communications with the chip by reading the die
temperature during the probe function, which returns an invalid value.

According to the datasheet, the typical ADC conversion time is 2 ms, but
no minimum or maximum values are provided. Maxim Technical Support
confirmed this was tested with temperature Ta=25 degreeC, and promised
to inform me if a maximum/minimum value is available (they didn't get
back to me, so I assume it is not).

However, the driver assumes a 1 ms conversion time. Usually the
usleep_range() call returns after more than 1.8 ms, hence it succeeds.
When it returns earlier, the data register may be read too early, and
the previous measurement value will be returned. After boot, this is
the temperature POR (power-on reset) value, causing the failure above.

Fix this by increasing the delay from 1000-2000 µs to 3000-3300 µs.

Note that this issue has always been present, but it was exposed by the
aformentioned commit.
