f3dfd599af UAPI: Fix conditional header installation handling (notably kvm_para.h on m68k)
The m68k arch doesn't have a kvm_para.h (unlike most or maybe all other
arches), but there is one in asm-generic.  This means that:

gets it wrong because it is invoked twice during the header installation - and
on the second occasion, asm-generic/kvm_para.h has been installed in usr/,
thus triggering a attempt to install asm-m68k/kvm_para.h which will fail.

There are three headers with this sort of conditional logic: a.out.h, kvm.h
and kvm_para.h.  For all three of them, change the logic to be something like:

	ifneq ($(wildcard $(srctree)/arch/$(SRCARCH)/include/asm/kvm_para.h \
			  $(srctree)/arch/$(SRCARCH)/include/uapi/asm/kvm_para.h),)

which finds the header in only the two places it should be found, and doesn't
get incorrectly triggered by the installation of asm-generic's version.

Offset -8 is wrong because when it is applied then one instruction
before brki r14, 8 is called again when we return.
Offset -4 is correct and brki instruction is called again.

This change came from ancient MMU kernel.

2e919f76e3 c6x: remove c6x signal.h
The c6x signal.h includes the asm-generic version and provides
a couple of extern declarations. David Howells pointed out that
the externs needed to be protected by ifdef __KERNEL__. As it
turns out, the externs aren't really needed since the functions
are only called from asm code. So this patch gets rid of the
c6x signal.h and uses just the asm-generic version.

ce57e981f2 firmware: use 'kernel_read()' to read firmware into kernel buffer
Fengguang correctly points out that the firmware reading should not use
vfs_read(), since the buffer is in kernel space.

The vfs_read() just happened to work for kernel threads, but sparse
warns about the incorrect address spaces, and it's definitely incorrect
and could fail for other users of the firmware loading.

d0fc905429 dma: tegra: fix interrupt name issue with apb dma.
When watching the interrupts through /proc/interrupts,
the name of the interrupts are blank or garbage. The
reason is the pointer passed for devname during irq
registration is stack and so it get changed after
dma registration completes.
Allocate the pointer as part of dma channel and pass
this pointer as the devname for irq registration to
avoid change of name.

7e97b8daf6 btrfs: allow setting NOCOW for a zero sized file via ioctl
Hi,

the patch si simple, but it has user visible impact and I'm not quite sure how
to resolve it.

In short, $subj says it, chattr -C supports it and we want to use it.

The conditions that acutally allow to change the NOCOW flag are clear. What if
I try to set the flag on a file that is not empty? Options:

1) whole ioctl will fail, EINVAL
2.1) ioctl will succeed, the NOCOW flag will be silently removed, but the file
     will stay COW-ed and checksummed
2.2) ioctl will succeed, flag will not be removed and a syslog message will
     warn that the COW flag has not been changed
2.2.1) dtto, no syslog message

Man page of chattr states that

 "If it is set on a file which already has data blocks, it is undefined when
 the blocks assigned to the file will be fully stable."

Yes, it's undefined and with current implementation it'll never happen. So from
this end, the user cannot expect anything. I'm trying to find a reasonable
behaviour, so that a command like 'chattr -R -aijS +C' to tweak a broad set of
flags in a deep directory does not fail unnecessarily and does not pollute the
log.

My personal preference is 2.2.1, but my dev's oppinion is skewed, not counting
the fact that I know the code and otherwise would look there before consulting
the documentation.

The patch implements 2.2.1.

Theoretically it's possible to add/remove all checksums from a given
file, but it's a potentially longtime operation, the file has to be in
some intermediate state where the checksums partially exist but have to
be ignored (for the csum->nocsum) until the file is fully converted,
this brings more special cases to extent handling, it has to survive
power failure and remain consistent, and probably needs to be restarted
after next mount."

c3308f84c1 Btrfs: fix punch hole when no extent exists
I saw the warning in btrfs_drop_extent_cache where our end is less than our
start while running xfstests 68 in a loop.  This is because we
unconditionally do drop_end = min(end, extent_end) in
__btrfs_drop_extents(), even though we may not have found an extent in the
range we were looking to drop.  So keep track of wether or not we found
something, and if we didn't just use our end.  Thanks,

926ced123b Btrfs: don't do anything in our ->freeze_fs and ->unfreeze_fs
We do not need to do anything special to freeze or unfreeze, it's all taken
care of by the generic work, and what we currently have is wrong anyway
since we shouldn't be returnning to userspace with mutexes held anyway.

b5bae2612a Btrfs: fix race when getting the eb out of page->private
We can race when checking wether PagePrivate is set on a page and we
actually have an eb saved in the pages private pointer.  We could have
easily written out this page and released it in the time that we did the
pagevec lookup and actually got around to looking at this page.  So use
mapping->private_lock to ensure we get a consistent view of the
page->private pointer.  This is inline with the alloc and releasepage paths
which use private_lock when manipulating page->private.  Thanks,

ff44c6e36d Btrfs: do not hold the write_lock on the extent tree while logging
Dave Sterba pointed out a sleeping while atomic bug while doing fsync.  This
is because I'm an idiot and didn't realize that rwlock's were spin locks, so
we've been holding this thing while doing allocations and such which is not
good.  This patch fixes this by dropping the write lock before we do
anything heavy and re-acquire it when it is done.  We also need to take a
ref on the em's in case their corresponding pages are evicted and mark them
as being logged so that releasepage does not remove them and doesn't remove
them from our local list.  Thanks,

98114659e0 Btrfs: fix race with freeze and free space inodes
So we start our freeze, somebody comes in and does an fsync() on a file
where we have to commit a transaction for whatever reason, and we will
deadlock because the freeze is waiting on FS_FREEZE people to stop writing
to the file system, but the transaction is waiting for its free space inodes
to be written out, which are in turn waiting on sb_start_intwrite while
trying to write the file extents.  To fix this we'll just skip the
sb_start_intwrite() if we TRANS_JOIN_NOLOCK since we're being waited on by a
transaction commit so we're safe wrt to freeze and this will keep us from
deadlocking.  Thanks,

60376ce4a8 Btrfs: fix race in sync and freeze again
I screwed this up, there is a race between checking if there is a running
transaction and actually starting a transaction in sync where we could race
with a freezer and get ourselves into trouble.  To fix this we need to make
a new join type to only do the try lock on the freeze stuff.  If it fails
we'll return EPERM and just return from sync.  This fixes a hang Liu Bo
reported when running xfstest 68 in a loop.  Thanks,

b3ae244e71 btrfs: return EPERM upon rmdir on a subvolume
A subvolume cannot be deleted via rmdir, but the error code ENOTEMPTY
is confusing. Return EPERM instead, as this is not permitted.

fcc1c0ff25 microblaze: Fix bug with passing command line
When u-boot passes control over to Linux it places the Linux command
line between to the end of __init_end. When space between
__init_end and __bss_start is not COMMAND_LINE_SIZE then
the part of cmdline can be lost.
In extreme case if __init_end == __bss_start u-boot can't pass
any cmdline to Linux kernel.

This patch fix this issue by copying cmd line directly to
cmd_line char array which is placed in data section.

88d23b4462 microblaze: Added fdt chosen capability for timer
This lets a dts author flag a particular timer in the system as the system timer.
If the chosen node contains a "system-timer=<&foo>" entry than that handle will
be used to determine the system timer. In no such entry exists then the first
found timer will be used (current behaviour).

Nothing includes <asm/clinkage.h>. It has actually never been included
since it was added to the tree in commit
9981cd94d5 ("microblaze_v8: clinkage.h
linkage.h sections.h kmap_types.h"). That's not surprising, since
including it is indistinguishable from including <linux/linkage.h>. It
can safely be removed.

890139529d UAPI: Fix the guards on various asm/unistd.h files
asm-generic/unistd.h and a number of asm/unistd.h files have been given
reinclusion guards that allow the guard to be overridden if __SYSCALL is
defined.  Unfortunately, these files define __SYSCALL and don't undefine it
when they've finished with it, thus rendering the guard ineffective.

The reason for this override is to allow the file to be #included multiple
times with different settings on __SYSCALL for purposes like generating syscall
tables.

Now that we correctly generate it, this hack is no longer required (and
might actually paper over a serious bug).

pageflip timestamps are sanity check in the latest version of the flip-test
in intel-gpu-tools.

74d44445af drm/i915: call drm_handle_vblank before finish_page_flip
... since finish_page_flip needs the vblank timestamp generated
in drm_handle_vblank. Somehow all the gmch platforms get it right,
but all the pch platform irq handlers get is wrong. Hooray for copy&
pasting!

Currently this gets papered over by a gross hack in finish_page_flip.
A second patch will remove that.

Note that without this, the new timestamp sanity checks in flip_test
occasionally get tripped up, hence the cc: stable tag.

e79e0fe380 drm/i915: EBUSY status handling added to i915_gem_fault().
Subsequent threads returning EBUSY from vm_insert_pfn() was not handled
correctly. As a result concurrent access from new threads to
mmapped data caused SIGBUS.

Note that this fixes i-g-t/tests/gem_threaded_tiled_access.
