The clock turnaround code still doesn't work for several reasons:
- 'USE_DPLL' flag in 'ap->host->private_data' is never initialized
or updated, so the driver can only set the chip to the DPLL clock
mode, not the PCI mode;
- the driver doesn't serialize access to the channels depending on
the current clock mode like the vendor drivers, so the clock
turnaround is only executed "optionally", not always as it should be;
- the wrong ports are written to when hpt3x2n_set_clock() is called
for the secondary channel;
- hpt3x2n_set_clock() can inadvertently enable the disabled channels
when resetting the channel state machines.

When we drain data from a device to clear DRQ during error recovery,
the number of bytes reported as drained is too low by a factor of 2
because the count is actually reporting the number of words drained,
not bytes. Fix this.

The octeon-ethernet driver shares an mdio bus with the octeon-mgmt

The Octeon MGMT Ethernet ports are present in some members of the
Octeon SOC family (cn52XX and cn56XX have them).
The mdio bus connected to the MGMT PHYs is shared with the main
octeon-ethernet driver, we force it to be loaded first by calling
octeon_mdiobus_force_mod_depencency. The platform devices for the
MGMT Ethernet ports are added in
arch/mips/cavium-octeon/octeon-platform.c, and the register
definitions for the ports live in arch/mips/include/asm/octeon/ along
with their ilk.
Although it currently is the only driver in drivers/net/octeon, the
directory was created looking forward to the day that octeon-ethernet
will move there from its current home in drivers/staging.

The Octeon SOC has two types of Ethernet ports, each type with its own
driver. However, the PHYs for all the ports are controlled by a
common MDIO bus. Because the mdio driver is not associated with a
particular driver, but is instead a system level resource, we create s
stand-alone driver for it.
As for the driver, we put the register definitions in
arch/mips/include/asm/octeon where most of the other Octeon register
definitions live. This is a platform driver with the platform device
for "mdio-octeon" being registered in the platform startup code.

The I/O area of the SMSC LPC47M1xx chips which we use, gives access to
a lot of registers, some of which are related to fan speed monitoring
and control, but many are not. At the moment, the smsc47m1 driver
requests the whole I/O port range. This could easily result in
resource conflicts with either ACPI or other drivers.
Request only the I/O ports we really use, to prevent such conflicts.

GRU Message queue instructions are used to deliver messages to other SSIs
within the numalink domain. In most cases, a single GRU mesq instruction
will deliver both the message AND an interrupt to notify the other SSI
that a messsage is present. In some cases, however, the interrupt must be
sent explicitly.
To improve resilency, the GRU driver should send these explicit interrupts
using the GRU to write the remote chipset register. Current code sends
the interrupt using a cpu instruction to write the chipset register.

TLB dropins require updates to the CBR instruction istatus field. This is
needed to resolve race conditions in the chip.
The code currently uses the user address of the CBR. This works but opens
up additional endcases related to stealing of contexts and accessing the
CBR from tasks that do not have access to the user address space. (Some
of this non-user task access is debug code that is not currently being
pushed to the community).
User CBRs are also directly accessible using the kernel mapping of the
CBR. Change the TLB dropin code to use the the kernel mapping of the CBR.

This was a difficult bug to trip. XPC was in the middle of sending an
acknowledgement for a received message.
In xpc_received_payload_uv():
.
ret = xpc_send_gru_msg(ch->sn.uv.cached_notify_gru_mq_desc, msg,
sizeof(struct xpc_notify_mq_msghdr_uv));
if (ret != xpSuccess)
XPC_DEACTIVATE_PARTITION(&xpc_partitions[ch->partid], ret);
msg->hdr.msg_slot_number += ch->remote_nentries;
at the point in xpc_send_gru_msg() where the hardware has dispatched the
acknowledgement, the remote side is able to reuse the message structure
and send a message with a different slot number. This problem is made
worse by interrupts.
The adjustment of msg_slot_number and the BUG_ON in
xpc_handle_notify_mq_msg_uv() which verifies the msg_slot_number is
consistent are only used for debug purposes. Since a fix for this that
preserves the debug functionality would either have to infringe upon the
payload or allocate another structure just for debug, I decided to remove
it entirely.

Addscrubbing to the i5100 chipset. The i5100 chipset only supports one
scrubbing rate, which is not constant but dependent on memory load. The
rate returned by this driver is an estimate based on some experimentation,
but is substantially closer to the truth than the speed supplied in the
documentation.
Also, scrubbing is done once, and then a done-bit is set. This means that
to accomplish continuous scrubbing a re-enabling mechanism must be used.
I have created the simplest possible such mechanism in the form of a
work-queue which will check every five minutes. This interval is quite
arbitrary but should be sufficient for all sizes of system memory.

The intelfb driver sets color map depending on currently active pipe.
However, if an LVDS display is attached (like in laptop) the active pipe
variable is never set. The default value is PIPE_A and can be wrong. Set
up the pipe variable during driver initialization after hardware state was
read.
Also, the detection of the active display (and hence the pipe) is wrong.
The pipes are assigned to so called planes. Both pipes are always enabled
on my laptop but only one plane is enabled (the plane A for the CRT or the
plane B for the LVDS). Change active pipe detection code to take into
account a status of the plane assigned to each pipe.
The problem is visible in the 8 bpp mode if colors above 15 are used. The
first 16 color entries are displayed correctly.

All callsites of x1205_set_datetime() want the date to be set as well, so
remove the flag parameter and set it unconditionally.

It's possible to have RTC irq shared with other device (e.g.
mpc8349e-mitx board shares ds1339 irq with phy one). Handle this in
driver.

This switches __raw_[read|write]l() for plain [read|write]l in the PL031
RTC driver. The sister driver for PL030 use the simple accessors as most
PrimeCell drivers.

This patch adds basic support for Texas Instruments BQ32000 I2C RTC. Only
time reading/writing is implemented. Advanced features, such as trickle
charger and crystal calibration are not supported.

The rtc-omap driver currently assumes that the rtc's registers are at a
fixed address and already mapped into virtual memory space. Remove those
assumptions so the same driver can be used for similar devices that reside
at different physical addresses (e.g., TI's DA8xx/OMAP-L13x SoC's).
Also allow the possibility for the timer and alarm interrupts to use the
same IRQ.

This patch adds the Alarm support, this mode enabled when adding
IORESOURCE_IRQ to the platform device resources.
The patch also enables the wakeup mode, so the wakealarm sysfs file (under
/sys/class/rtc/rtcX/) can be used to configure the alarm clock.

Add setting and clearing of the "pending" flag of the RTC alarm. The
semantics follow the UEFI specification 2.2 available at
http://www.uefi.org/specs/, i.e., the "pending" flag is cleared by
disabling the alarm, but not by any other condition (such as the passing
of time, a successful wakeup, or setting of a new alarm.)

Now that we've removed the BKL here, let's explicitly set llseek to
no_llseek since the default llseek is not used here.
The default_llseek function still contains the BKL. When we are auditing
code to see if we can remove the BKL, this is one of the hidden
considerations we need to take into account. i.e., is there
syncronization between code that has the BKL and llseek.
At the same time we remove the BKL it would be a good idea to do indicate
when no llseek function is required, so we don't have to revisit this code
again, when we are trying to determine if we can remove the BKL from the
default_llseek.

The to_platform_device macro itself uses container_of macro. Nested use
of container_of macro causes following sparse warnings:
rtc-ds1553.c:259:3: warning: symbol '__mptr' shadows an earlier one
rtc-ds1553.c:259:3: originally declared here
