44c40910b6 Merge tag 'linux-can-next-for-5.4-20190904' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/mkl/linux-can-next
Marc Kleine-Budde says:

pull-request: can-next 2019-09-04 j1939

this is a pull request for net-next/master consisting of 21 patches.

the first 12 patches are by me and target the CAN core infrastructure.
They clean up the names of variables , structs and struct members,
convert can_rx_register() to use max() instead of open coding it and
remove unneeded code from the can_pernet_exit() callback.

The next three patches are also by me and they introduce and make use of
the CAN midlayer private structure. It is used to hold protocol specific
per device data structures.

The next patch is by Oleksij Rempel, switches the
&net->can.rcvlists_lock from a spin_lock() to a spin_lock_bh(), so that
it can be used from NAPI (soft IRQ) context.

The next 4 patches are by Kurt Van Dijck, he first updates his email
address via mailmap and then extends sockaddr_can to include j1939
members.

The final patch is the collective effort of many entities (The j1939
authors: Oliver Hartkopp, Bastian Stender, Elenita Hinds, kbuild test
robot, Kurt Van Dijck, Maxime Jayat, Robin van der Gracht, Oleksij
Rempel, Marc Kleine-Budde). It adds support of SAE J1939 protocol to the
CAN networking stack.

SAE J1939 is the vehicle bus recommended practice used for communication
and diagnostics among vehicle components. Originating in the car and
heavy-duty truck industry in the United States, it is now widely used in
other parts of the world.

P.S.: This pull request doesn't invalidate my last pull request:
      "pull-request: can-next 2019-09-03".

91bfb56485 selftest: A few cleanups for fib_nexthops.sh
Cleanups of the tests in fib_nexthops.sh
1. Several tests noted unexpected route output, but the
discrepancy was not showing in the summary output and
overlooked in the verbose output. Add a WARNING message
to the summary output to make it clear a test is not showing
   expected output.

2. Several check_* calls are missing extra data like scope and metric
causing mismatches when the nexthops or routes are correct - some of
them are a side effect of the evolving iproute2 command. Update the
   data to the expected output.

3. Several check_routes are checking for the wrong nexthop data,
   most likely a copy-paste-update error.

4. A couple of tests were re-using a nexthop id that already existed.
Fix those to use a new id.

5d2295f3a9 hrtimer: Add a missing bracket and hide `migration_base' on !SMP
The recent change to avoid taking the expiry lock when a timer is currently
migrated missed to add a bracket at the end of the if statement leading to
compile errors. Since that commit the variable `migration_base' is always
used but it is only available on SMP configuration thus leading to another
compile error. The changelog says "The timer base and base->cpu_base
cannot be NULL in the code path", so it is safe to limit this check to SMP
configurations only.

Add the missing bracket to the if statement and hide `migration_base'
behind CONFIG_SMP bars.

e336b40277 kprobes: Prohibit probing on BUG() and WARN() address
Since BUG() and WARN() may use a trap (e.g. UD2 on x86) to
get the address where the BUG() has occurred, kprobes can not
do single-step out-of-line that instruction. So prohibit
probing on such address.

Without this fix, if someone put a kprobe on WARN(), the
kernel will crash with invalid opcode error instead of
outputing warning message, because kernel can not find
correct bug address.

b9c2470fb1 serial: tegra: flush the RX fifo on frame error
FIFO reset/flush code implemented now does not follow programming
guidelines. RTS line has to be turned off while flushing FIFOs to
avoid new transfers. Also check LSR bits UART_LSR_TEMT and UART_LSR_DR
to confirm FIFOs are flushed.

494f79bd23 serial: tegra: avoid reg access when clk disabled
This avoids two race conditions from the UART shutdown sequence both
leading to 'Machine check error in AXI2APB' and kernel oops.

One was that the clock was disabled before the DMA was terminated making
it possible for the DMA callbacks to be called after the clock was
disabled. These callbacks could write to the UART registers causing
timeout.

The second was that the clock was disabled before the UART was
completely flagged as closed. This is done after the shutdown is called
and a new write could be started after the clock was disabled.
tegra_uart_start_pio_tx could be called causing timeout.

Given that the baud rate is reset at the end of shutdown sequence, this
fix is to examine the baud rate to avoid register access from both race
conditions.

Besides, terminate the DMA before disabling the clock.

5a8c296f53 serial: max310x: Properly set flags in AutoCTS mode
Commit 391f93f2ec ("serial: core: Rework hw-assisted flow control
support") has changed the way the AutoCTS mode is handled.

According to that change, serial drivers which enable H/W AutoCTS mode must
set UPSTAT_AUTORTS, UPSTAT_AUTOCTS and UPSTAT_AUTOXOFF to prevent the
serial core from inadvertently disabling RX or TX. This patch adds proper
handling of UPSTAT_AUTORTS, UPSTAT_AUTOCTS and UPSTAT_AUTOXOFF flags.
