The driver creates the mapping by calling irq_of_parse_and_map(),
so it also has to dispose the mapping. But the easy way out is to
simply use platform_get_irq() instead of irq_of_parse_map(). Also
we should adapt return value checking and propagate error values.

In this case the mapping is not managed by the device but by
the of core, so the device has not to dispose the mapping.

7c5f641a59 ata: libahci: Adjust behavior when StorageD3Enable _DSD is set
The StorageD3Enable _DSD is used for the vendor to indicate that the disk
should be opted into or out of a different behavior based upon the platform
design.

For AMD's Renoir and Green Sardine platforms it's important that any
attached SATA storage has transitioned into DevSlp when s2idle is used.

If the disk is left in active/partial/slumber, then the system is not able
to resume properly.

When the StorageD3Enable _DSD is detected, check the system is using s2idle
and DevSlp is enabled and if so explicitly wait long enough for the disk to
enter DevSlp.

636f6e2af4 libata: add horkage for missing Identify Device log
ACS-3 introduced the ATA Identify Device Data log as mandatory. A
warning message currently signals to the user if a device does not
report supporting this log page in the log directory page, regardless
of the ATA version of the device. Furthermore, this warning will appear
for all attempts at accessing this missing log page during device
revalidation.

Since it is useless to constantly access the log directory and warn
about this lack of support once we have discovered that the device
does not support this log page, introduce the horkage flag
ATA_HORKAGE_NO_ID_DEV_LOG to mark a device as lacking support for
the Identify Device Data log page. Set this flag when
ata_log_supported() returns false in ata_identify_page_supported().
The warning is printed only if the device ATA level is 10 or above
(ACS-3 or above), and only once on device scan. With this flag set, the
log directory page is not accessed again to test for Identify Device
Data log page support.

68dbbe7d5b libata: fix read log timeout value
Some ATA drives are very slow to respond to READ_LOG_EXT and
READ_LOG_DMA_EXT commands issued from ata_dev_configure() when the
device is revalidated right after resuming a system or inserting the
ATA adapter driver (e.g. ahci). The default 5s timeout
(ATA_EH_CMD_DFL_TIMEOUT) used for these commands is too short, causing
errors during the device configuration. Ex:

...
ata9: SATA max UDMA/133 abar m524288@0x9d200000 port 0x9d200400 irq 209
ata9: SATA link up 6.0 Gbps (SStatus 133 SControl 300)
ata9.00: ATA-9: XXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXX, max UDMA/133
ata9.00: qc timeout (cmd 0x2f)
ata9.00: Read log page 0x00 failed, Emask 0x4
ata9.00: Read log page 0x00 failed, Emask 0x40
ata9.00: NCQ Send/Recv Log not supported
ata9.00: Read log page 0x08 failed, Emask 0x40
ata9.00: 27344764928 sectors, multi 16: LBA48 NCQ (depth 32), AA
ata9.00: Read log page 0x00 failed, Emask 0x40
ata9.00: ATA Identify Device Log not supported
ata9.00: failed to set xfermode (err_mask=0x40)
ata9: SATA link up 6.0 Gbps (SStatus 133 SControl 300)
ata9.00: configured for UDMA/133
...

The timeout error causes a soft reset of the drive link, followed in
most cases by a successful revalidation as that give enough time to the
drive to become fully ready to quickly process the read log commands.
However, in some cases, this also fails resulting in the device being
dropped.

Fix this by using adding the ata_eh_revalidate_timeouts entries for the
READ_LOG_EXT and READ_LOG_DMA_EXT commands. This defines a timeout
increased to 15s, retriable one time.

This series consists of the usual driver updates (ufs, smartpqi, lpfc,
target, megaraid_sas, hisi_sas, qla2xxx) and minor updates and bug
fixes. Notable core changes are the removal of scsi->tag which caused
some churn in obsolete drivers and a sweep through all drivers to call
scsi_done() directly instead of scsi->done() which removes a pointer
indirection from the hot path and a move to register core sysfs files
earlier, which means they're available to KOBJ_ADD processing, which
necessitates switching all drivers to using attribute groups.

fe22e1c2f7 libata: support concurrent positioning ranges log
Add support to discover if an ATA device supports the Concurrent
Positioning Ranges data log (address 0x47), indicating that the device
is capable of seeking to multiple different locations in parallel using
multiple actuators serving different LBA ranges.

Also add support to translate the concurrent positioning ranges log
into its equivalent Concurrent Positioning Ranges VPD page B9h in
libata-scsi.c.

The format of the Concurrent Positioning Ranges Log is defined in ACS-5
r9.

a0023bb9dd ata: sata_mv: Fix the error handling of mv_chip_id()
mv_init_host() propagates the value returned by mv_chip_id() which in turn
gets propagated by mv_pci_init_one() and hits local_pci_probe().

During the process of driver probing, the probe function should return < 0
for failure, otherwise, the kernel will treat value > 0 as success.

Since this is a bug rather than a recoverable runtime error we should
use dev_alert() instead of dev_err().

Checking if DMA is enabled should be done via the

This meant that ATA_CMD_READ_LOG_DMA_EXT was used and probed

It might also have caused it to be incorrectly disabled as broken,
but there have been no reports of that.

7a8526a5cd libata: Add ATA_HORKAGE_NO_NCQ_ON_ATI for Samsung 860 and 870 SSD.
Many users are reporting that the Samsung 860 and 870 SSD are having
various issues when combined with AMD/ATI (vendor ID 0x1002) SATA
controllers and only completely disabling NCQ helps to avoid these
issues.

Always disabling NCQ for Samsung 860/870 SSDs regardless of the host
SATA adapter vendor will cause I/O performance degradation with well
behaved adapters. To limit the performance impact to ATI adapters,
introduce the ATA_HORKAGE_NO_NCQ_ON_ATI flag to force disable NCQ
only for these adapters.

Also, two libata.force parameters (noncqati and ncqati) are introduced
to disable and enable the NCQ for the system which equipped with ATI
SATA adapter and Samsung 860 and 870 SSDs. The user can determine NCQ
function to be enabled or disabled according to the demand.

After verifying the chipset from the user reports, the issue appears
on AMD/ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 SATA Controllers and does not appear on
recent AMD SATA adapters. The vendor ID of ATI should be 0x1002.
Therefore, ATA_HORKAGE_NO_NCQ_ON_AMD was modified to
ATA_HORKAGE_NO_NCQ_ON_ATI.

8a6430ab9c libata: add ATA_HORKAGE_NO_NCQ_TRIM for Samsung 860 and 870 SSDs
Commit ca6bfcb2f6 ("libata: Enable queued TRIM for Samsung SSD 860")
limited the existing ATA_HORKAGE_NO_NCQ_TRIM quirk from "Samsung SSD 8*",
covering all Samsung 800 series SSDs, to only apply to "Samsung SSD 840*"
and "Samsung SSD 850*" series based on information from Samsung.

But there is a large number of users which is still reporting issues
with the Samsung 860 and 870 SSDs combined with Intel, ASmedia or
Marvell SATA controllers and all reporters also report these problems
going away when disabling queued trims.

Note that with AMD SATA controllers users are reporting even worse
issues and only completely disabling NCQ helps there, this will be
addressed in a separate patch.

Fixes: ca6bfcb2f6 ("libata: Enable queued TRIM for Samsung SSD 860")

This series consists of the usual driver updates (ufs, qla2xxx,

allowing us to offset map to it and remove the redundant field; the
same was also done for the tag field. The most impactful change is
the final removal of scsi_ioctl, which has been deprecated for over a

5f91b8f548 libata: Introduce ncq_prio_supported sysfs sttribute
Currently, the only way a user can determine if a SATA device supports
NCQ priority is to try to enable the use of this feature using the
ncq_prio_enable sysfs device attribute. If enabling the feature fails,
it is because the device does not support NCQ priority. Otherwise, the
feature is enabled and success indicates that the device supports NCQ
priority.

Improve this odd interface by introducing the read-only
ncq_prio_supported sysfs device attribute to indicate if a SATA device
supports NCQ priority. The value of this attribute reflects the status
of device flag ATA_DFLAG_NCQ_PRIO, which is set only for devices
supporting NCQ priority.

Add this new sysfs attribute to the device attributes group of libahci
and libata-sata.

d633b8a702 libata: print feature list on device scan
Print a list of features supported by a drive when it is configured in
ata_dev_configure() using the new function ata_dev_print_features().
The features printed are not already advertized and are: trusted
send-recev support, device attention support, device sleep support,
NCQ send-recv support and NCQ priority support.

fc5c8aa7bc libata: fix ata_read_log_page() warning
Support for the READ LOG PAGE DMA EXT command is indicated by words 119
and 120 of a device identify data. This is tested in
ata_read_log_page() with ata_id_has_read_log_dma_ext() and the
READ LOG PAGE DMA command used if the device reports supports for it.

However, some devices lie about this support and using the DMA version
of the command fails, generating the warning message "READ LOG DMA EXT
failed, trying PIO". Since READ LOG PAGE DMA EXT is an optional command,
this warning is not at all important but may be scary for the user.
Change ata_read_log_page() to suppres this warning and to print an
error message if both DMA and PIO attempts failed.

With this change, there is no need to print again an error message when
ata_read_log_page() returns an error. So simplify the users of this
function.

2360fa1812 libata: cleanup NCQ priority handling
The ata device flag ATA_DFLAG_NCQ_PRIO indicates if a device supports
the NCQ Priority feature while the ATA_DFLAG_NCQ_PRIO_ENABLE device
flag indicates if the feature is enabled. Enabling NCQ priority use is
controlled by the user through the device sysfs attribute
ncq_prio_enable. As a result, the ATA_DFLAG_NCQ_PRIO flag should not be
cleared when ATA_DFLAG_NCQ_PRIO_ENABLE is not set as the device still
supports the feature even after the user disables it. This leads to the
following cleanups:
- In ata_build_rw_tf(), set a command high priority bit based on the
ATA_DFLAG_NCQ_PRIO_ENABLE flag, not on the ATA_DFLAG_NCQ flag. That
is, set a command high priority only if the user enabled NCQ priority
  use.
- In ata_dev_config_ncq_prio(), ATA_DFLAG_NCQ_PRIO should not be cleared
if ATA_DFLAG_NCQ_PRIO_ENABLE is not set. If the device does not
support NCQ priority, both ATA_DFLAG_NCQ_PRIO and
  ATA_DFLAG_NCQ_PRIO_ENABLE must be cleared.

With the above ata_dev_config_ncq_prio() change, ATA_DFLAG_NCQ_PRIO flag
is set on device scan and revalidation. There is no need to trigger a
device revalidation in ata_ncq_prio_enable_store() when the user enables
the use of NCQ priority. Remove the revalidation code from that funciton
to simplify it. Also change the return value from -EIO to -EINVAL when a
user tries to enable NCQ priority for a device that does not support
this feature. While at it, also simplify ata_ncq_prio_enable_show().

Overall, there is no functional change introduced by this patch.

Sparse complains about context imbalance in ata_scsi_rbuf_get() and

branch also contains a few of the fixes that weren't sent in by the
end of the release (all fairly minor).

   - Adding an additional maintainer for the TEE subsystem (Sumit Garg)

   - Quite a significant modernization of the IXP4xx platforms by Linus
Walleij, revisiting with a new PCI host driver/binding, removing
legacy mach/* include dependencies and moving platform
     detection/config to drivers/soc. Also some updates/cleanup of
     platform data.

   - Core power domain support for Tegra platforms, and some
improvements in build test coverage by adding stubs for compile
     test targets.

   - A handful of updates to i.MX platforms, adding legacy (non-PSCI)
SMP support on i.MX7D, SoC ID setup for i.MX50, removal of platform
data and board fixups for iMX6/7.

... and a few smaller changes and fixes for Samsung, OMAP, Allwinner,
  Rockchip"

ecef6a9eff libata: fix ata_pio_sector for CONFIG_HIGHMEM
Data transfers are not required to be block aligned in memory, so they
span two pages. Fix this by splitting the call to >sff_data_xfer into
two for that case.

This has been broken since the initial libata import before the damn
of git, but was uncovered by the legacy ide driver removal.

d5d9f7ac58 ARM/ixp4xx: Make NEED_MACH_IO_H optional
In order to create a proper PCI driver for the IXP4xx
we need to make the old PCI driver and its reliance
on <mach/io.h> optional.

Create a new Kconfig symbol for the legacy PCI driver
IXP4XX_PCI_LEGACY and only activate NEED_MACH_IO_H
for this driver.

A few files need to be adjusted to explicitly include
the <mach/hardware.h> and <mach/cpu.h> headers that
they previously obtained implicitly using <linux/io.h>
that would include <mach/io.h> and in turn include
these two headers.

This breaks our reliance on the old PCI and indirect
PCI support so we can reimplement a proper purely
DT-based driver in the PCI subsystem.

f6bca4d91b ata: ahci_sunxi: Disable DIPM
DIPM is unsupported or broken on sunxi. Trying to enable the power
management policy med_power_with_dipm on an Allwinner A20 SoC based board
leads to immediate I/O errors and the attached SATA disk disappears from
the /dev filesystem. A reset (power cycle) is required to make the SATA
controller or disk work again. The A10 and A20 SoC data sheets and manuals
don't mention DIPM at all [1], so it's fair to assume that it's simply not
supported. But even if it was, it should be considered broken and best be
disabled in the ahci_sunxi driver.

44b1fbc0f5 m68k/q40: Replace q40ide driver with pata_falcon and falconide
This allows m68k q40 systems to switch from the deprecated IDE subsystem
to libata.

Enhance the byte-swapping falconide and pata_falcon platform drivers to
accept an irq resource, for use on q40. Atari ST-DMA IRQ arrangements seem
to co-exist with q40 IRQ arrangements without too much mess.

The new IO resources were added solely for the purpose of making
request_region() reservations identical to those made by q40ide: these
regions aren't used for actual IO.

Originally the SCSI subsystem has been using 'special' SCSI status codes,

The Linux-specifed SCSI status codes have been marked obsolete for several

5c81212624 pata_ep93xx: fix deferred probing

bfc1f378c8 pata_octeon_cf: avoid WARN_ON() in ata_host_activate()
Iff platform_get_irq() fails (or returns IRQ0) and thus the polling mode
has to be used, ata_host_activate() hits the WARN_ON() due to 'irq_handler'
parameter being non-NULL if the polling mode is selected. Let's only set
the pointer to the driver's IRQ handler if platform_get_irq() returns a
valid IRQ # -- this should avoid the unnecessary WARN_ON()...

e8d6f9e561 ata: ahci_brcm: Fix use of BCM7216 reset controller
This driver may use one of two resets controllers. Keep them in separate
variables to keep things simple. The reset controller "rescal" is shared
between the AHCI driver and the PCIe driver for the BrcmSTB 7216 chip. Use
devm_reset_control_get_optional_shared() to handle this sharing.

b8e162f9e7 scsi: core: Introduce enum scsi_disposition
Improve readability of the code in the SCSI core by introducing an
enumeration type for the values used internally that decide how to continue
processing a SCSI command. The eh_*_handler return values have not been
changed because that would involve modifying all SCSI drivers.

The output of the following command has been inspected to verify that no
out-of-range values are assigned to a variable of type enum
scsi_disposition:

KCFLAGS=-Wassign-enum make CC=clang W=1 drivers/scsi/

The return from the call to platform_get_irq() is int, it can be
a negative error code, however this is being assigned to an unsigned
int variable 'irq', so making 'irq' an int, and change the position to

868ed7311c ata: ahci_tegra: Add AHCI support for Tegra186
This patch adds support for AHCI-compliant Serial ATA controller
on Tegra186 SoC.

Tegra186 does not have sata-oob reset.
Tegra186 SATA_NVOOB register filed COMMA_CNT position and width are
different compared to Tegra210 and prior.

So, this patch adds a flag has_sata_oob_rst and tegra_ahci_regs to
SoC specific strcuture tegra_ahci_soc and updated their implementation
accordingly.

7d33004d24 pata_legacy: Add `probe_mask' parameter like with ide-generic
Carry the `probe_mask' parameter over from ide-generic to pata_legacy so
that there is a way to prevent random poking at ISA port I/O locations
in attempt to discover adapter option cards with libata like with the
old IDE driver. By default all enabled locations are tried, however it
may interfere with a different kind of hardware responding there.

For example with a plain (E)ISA system the driver tries all the six
possible locations:

e379b40cc0 pata_ipx4xx_cf: fix IRQ check
The driver's probe() method is written as if platform_get_irq() returns 0
on error, while actually it returns a negative error code (with all the
other values considered valid IRQs). Rewrite the driver's IRQ checking
code to pass the positive IRQ #s to ata_host_activate(), propagate errors
upstream, and treat IRQ0 as error, returning -EINVAL, as the libata code
treats 0 as an indication that polling should be used anyway...

which has 4 GT lanes and can be used by 4 peripherals at a time.
SATA controller uses 1 GT phy lane among the 4 GT lanes. To configure
the GT lane for the SATA controller, the below sequence is expected.

1. Assert the SATA controller reset.
2. Configure the xilinx GT phy lane for SATA controller (phy_init).
3. De-assert the SATA controller reset.
4. Wait for PLL of the GT lane used by SATA to be locked (phy_power_on).

The ahci_platform_enable_resources() by default does the phy_init()
and phy_power_on() but the default sequence doesn't work with Xilinx
platforms. Because of this reason, updated the driver to support the
new sequence.

Added cevapriv->rst check, for backward compatibility with the older
sequence. If the reset controller is not available, then the SATA
controller will configure with the older sequences.

df9c590986 ata: sata_rcar: Fix DMA boundary mask
Before commit 9495b7e92f ("driver core: platform: Initialize
dma_parms for platform devices"), the R-Car SATA device didn't have DMA
parameters. Hence the DMA boundary mask supplied by its driver was
silently ignored, as __scsi_init_queue() doesn't check the return value
of dma_set_seg_boundary(), and the default value of 0xffffffff was used.

Now the device has gained DMA parameters, the driver-supplied value is
used, and the following warning is printed on Salvator-XS:

    DMA-API: sata_rcar ee300000.sata: mapping sg segment across boundary [start=0x00000000ffffe000] [end=0x00000000ffffefff] [boundary=0x000000001ffffffe]
    WARNING: CPU: 5 PID: 38 at kernel/dma/debug.c:1233 debug_dma_map_sg+0x298/0x300

(the range of start/end values depend on whether IOMMU support is
 enabled or not)

The issue here is that SATA_RCAR_DMA_BOUNDARY doesn't have bit 0 set, so
any typical end value, which is odd, will trigger the check.

Fix this by increasing the DMA boundary value by 1.

This also fixes the following WRITE DMA EXT timeout issue:

    # dd if=/dev/urandom of=/mnt/de1/file1-1024M bs=1M count=1024

Experiments showed that disabling NCQ lowered the failure rate significantly
and the kernel has been disabling NCQ for some models of SD7's and 8's,

Karthik worked with Sandisk to root cause the hard lockups to trim commands
larger than 128M. This patch implements ATA_HORKAGE_MAX_TRIM_128M which

Commit 130f4caf14 ("libata: Ensure ata_port probe has completed before

Using async_synchronize_full() in PM callbacks is wrong, since async
callbacks that are already scheduled may wait for not-yet-scheduled
callbacks, causes a circular dependency.

Instead of using big hammer like async_synchronize_full(), use async
cookie to make sure port probe are synced, without affecting other
scheduled PM callbacks.

this error.

The exception code is "bd_len = p[3];", "p" value is ffff88803b8cd000
which belongs to the cache kmalloc-512 of size 512. The "page_address(sg_page(scsi_sglist(scmd)))"
maybe from sg_scsi_ioctl function "buffer" which allocated by kzalloc, so "buffer"
may not page aligned.
This also looks completely buggy on highmem systems and really needs to use a
kmap_atomic. --Christoph Hellwig
To address above bugs, Paolo Bonzini advise to simpler to just make a char array
of size CACHE_MPAGE_LEN+8+8+4-2(or just 64 to make it easy), use sg_copy_to_buffer
to copy from the sglist into the buffer, and workthere.

cc97923a5b block: move dma drain handling to scsi
Don't burden the common block code with with specifics of the libata DMA
draining mechanism. Instead move most of the code to the scsi midlayer.

That also means the nr_phys_segments adjustments in the blk-mq fast path
can go away entirely, given that SCSI never looks at nr_phys_segments
after mapping the request to a scatterlist.

4c9029e7d0 ata: let compiler optimize out ata_eh_set_lpm() on non-SATA hosts
Add !IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_SATA_HOST) to ata_eh_set_lpm() to allow
compiler to optimize out the function for non-SATA configs (for
PATA hosts "ap && !ap->ops->set_lpm" condition is always true so
it's sufficient for the function to return zero).
