9fe504a131 qtnfmac: switch to 32bit values for RTS/FRAG thresholds
Host wireless stack uses u32 type for RTS/FRAG threshold values.
Switch to u32 in driver: pass u32 values to firmware and let
firmware properly adapt these values according to its
internal representation.

de624a355d qtnfmac: add support for 4addr mode
Advertise WIPHY_FLAG_4ADDR_STATION capability to wireless core. Send
use4addr interface change flag to firmware in change_virtual_intf
cfg80211 callback.

In order to enable adding wireless station interface to bridge
one should turn on 4addr mode using the following command:
$ iw dev wlan0 set 4addr on
$ brctl addif br0 wlan0

If this commands succeeds, then interface can be added to bridge.
Note that when wireless interface is added to bridge, wpa_supplicant
should be started with appropriate -b <brname> parameter, e.g:
$ wpa_supplicant -Dnl80211 -iwlan0 -c/path/to/wpa.conf -b br0

d1365e794e qtnfmac: fix INTx interrupt handling
In the current implementation INTx interrupt is deasserted after the
control path processing. However this may lead to missed interrupts
from the wireless card. For instance, this may happen as a result
of control path activity, when another interrupt arrives before
INTx is deasserted.

051337d412 rtlwifi: Don't clear num_rx_inperiod too early
This patch moves the clearing of rtlpriv->link_info.num_rx_inperiod in

This is necessary since it is still used in the "AP off" detection

28484b6b37 rtl8723ae: Re-introduce the adaptive rate control
This re-introduces the function rtl8723e_dm_refresh_rate_adaptive_mask.

This function was present in a previous version of the code base,
it works just fine for me -- as long as it is not using stale data.

Unlike the original version of this function it avoids using
dm.undec_sm_pwdb when no beacon was received.

Fixed a style nit in rtl8723e_dm_init_rate_adaptive_mask.

46b87976d7 rtl8723ae: Take the FW LPS mode handling out
This appears to trigger a firmware bug and causes severe
problems with rtl8723ae PCI devices.

When the power save mode is activated for longer periods
of time the firmware stops to receive any packets.

This problem was exposed by commit 873ffe154a ("rtlwifi:
Fix logic error in enter/exit power-save mode").

Previously the power save mode was only active rarely and
only for a short time so that the problem was not noticeable.

db040dfa53 qtnfmac: use struct_size() in kzalloc()
One of the more common cases of allocation size calculations is finding the
size of a structure that has a zero-sized array at the end, along with memory
for some number of elements for that array. For example:

struct foo {
    int stuff;
    void *entry[];
};

instance = kzalloc(sizeof(struct foo) + sizeof(void *) * count, GFP_KERNEL);

Instead of leaving these open-coded and prone to type mistakes, we can now
use the new struct_size() helper:

instance = kzalloc(struct_size(instance, entry, count), GFP_KERNEL);

This code was detected with the help of Coccinelle.

305a0ade18 ALSA: hda - Serialize codec registrations
In the current code, the codec registration may happen both at the
codec bind time and the end of the controller probe time. In a rare
occasion, they race with each other, leading to Oops due to the still
uninitialized card device.

This patch introduces a simple flag to prevent the codec registration
at the codec bind time as long as the controller probe is going on.
The controller probe invokes snd_card_register() that does the whole
registration task, and we don't need to register each piece
beforehand.

9d0f50b802 mac80211: ensure that mgmt tx skbs have tailroom for encryption
Some drivers use IEEE80211_KEY_FLAG_SW_MGMT_TX to indicate that management
frames need to be software encrypted. Since normal data packets are still
encrypted by the hardware, crypto_tx_tailroom_needed_cnt gets decremented
after key upload to hw. This can lead to passing skbs to ccmp_encrypt_skb,
which don't have the necessary tailroom for software encryption.

Change the code to add tailroom for encrypted management packets, even if
crypto_tx_tailroom_needed_cnt is 0.

23323289b1 netlink: reduce NLA_POLICY_NESTED{,_ARRAY} arguments
In typical cases, there's no need to pass both the maxattr
and the policy array pointer, as the maxattr should just be
ARRAY_SIZE(policy) - 1. Therefore, to be less error prone,
just remove the maxattr argument from the default macros
and deduce the size accordingly.

Leave the original macros with a leading underscore to use
here and in case somebody needs to pass a policy pointer
where the policy isn't declared in the same place and thus
ARRAY_SIZE() cannot be used.

fbdb440132 copy_mount_string: Limit string length to PATH_MAX
On ppc64le, When a string with PAGE_SIZE - 1 (i.e. 64k-1) length is
passed as a "filesystem type" argument to the mount(2) syscall,
copy_mount_string() ends up allocating 64k (the PAGE_SIZE on ppc64le)
worth of space for holding the string in kernel's address space.

Later, in set_precision() (invoked by get_fs_type() ->
__request_module() -> vsnprintf()), we end up assigning
strlen(fs-type-string) i.e. 65535 as the
value to 'struct printf_spec'->precision member. This field has a width
of 16 bits and it is a signed data type. Hence an invalid value ends
up getting assigned. This causes the "WARN_ONCE(spec->precision != prec,
"precision %d too large", prec)" statement inside set_precision() to be
executed.

This commit fixes the bug by limiting the length of the string passed by
copy_mount_string() to strndup_user() to PATH_MAX.

The arm64 CRC-T10DIF implementation either uses 8-bit or 64-bit

Since that prevents us from testing both implementations on the

The SIMD routine ported from x86 used to have a special code path
for inputs < 16 bytes, which got lost somewhere along the way.
Instead, the current glue code aligns the input pointer to 16 bytes,
which is not really necessary on this architecture (although it
could be beneficial to performance to expose aligned data to the
the NEON routine), but this could result in inputs of less than
16 bytes to be passed in. This not only fails the new extended
tests that Eric has implemented, it also results in the code
reading past the end of the input, which could potentially result
in crashes when dealing with less than 16 bytes of input at the
end of a page which is followed by an unmapped page.

So update the glue code to only invoke the NEON routine if the
input is at least 16 bytes.

The cause is that the struct ahash_request *req is created as a
stack-local variable up in the stack (presumably somewhere in the IMA
implementation), then passed down into the CAAM driver, which tries to
dma_single_map the req->result (indirectly via map_seq_out_ptr_result)
in order to make that buffer available for the CAAM to store the result
of the following hash operation.

The calling code doesn't know how req will be used by the CAAM driver,
and there could be other such occurrences where stack memory is passed
down to the CAAM driver. Therefore we should rather fix this issue in
the CAAM driver where the requirements are known."

Fix this problem by:
-instructing the crypto engine to write the final hash in state->caam_ctx
-subsequently memcpy-ing the final hash into req->result

preferred one if available.

To fix this mess, I want all Makefiles to add explicit $(srctree)/ to
the search paths in the srctree. Some Makefiles are already written in
that way, but not all. The goal of this work is to make the notation
consistent, and finally get rid of the gross hacks.

eaf46edf6e crypto: arm64/aes-ccm - fix logical bug in AAD MAC handling
The NEON MAC calculation routine fails to handle the case correctly
where there is some data in the buffer, and the input fills it up
exactly. In this case, we enter the loop at the end with w8 == 0,
while a negative value is assumed, and so the loop carries on until
the increment of the 32-bit counter wraps around, which is quite
obviously wrong.

So omit the loop altogether in this case, and exit right away.

eb5e6730db crypto: testmgr - skip crc32c context test for ahash algorithms
Instantiating "cryptd(crc32c)" causes a crypto self-test failure because
the crypto_alloc_shash() in alg_test_crc32c() fails. This is because
cryptd(crc32c) is an ahash algorithm, not a shash algorithm; so it can
only be accessed through the ahash API, unlike shash algorithms which
can be accessed through both the ahash and shash APIs.

As the test is testing the shash descriptor format which is only
applicable to shash algorithms, skip it for ahash algorithms.

(Note that it's still important to fix crypto self-test failures even
 for weird algorithm instantiations like cryptd(crc32c) that no one
 would really use; in fips_enabled mode unprivileged users can use them
 to panic the kernel, and also they prevent treating a crypto self-test
 failure as a bug when fuzzing the kernel.)
