The simple-pm-bus driver is mandatory for CONFIG_OF based platforms to work
with fw_devlink. So, always compile it in for CONFIG_OF and delete the
config since it's no longer necessary.

fw_devlink could end up creating device links for bus only devices.
However, bus only devices don't get probed and can block probe() or
sync_state() [1] call backs of other devices. To avoid this, probe these
devices using the simple-pm-bus driver.
However, there are instances of devices that are not simple buses (they get
probed by their specific drivers) that also list the "simple-bus" (or other
bus only compatible strings) in their compatible property to automatically
populate their child devices. We still want these devices to get probed by
their specific drivers. So, we make sure this driver only probes devices
that are only buses.

The open/reset/close commands format is similar for all objects.
Currently there are multiple implementations for these commands
scattered through various drivers. The code is cavsi-identical.
Create a generic implementation for the open/reset/close commands.
One of the consumer will be the VFIO driver which needs to
be able to reset a device.

Let's add handling the otg force idle quirk for the old omap2430 glue layer
used up to omap4 as the musb driver quirk only works if the driver is
loaded. Unlike with the am335x glue layer, looks like we don't need the
quirk handling for SYSC_QUIRK_REINIT_ON_CTX_LOST.
Eventually when all the musb using SoCs are booting with device tree based
configuration, we can just remove the related quirk handling from the
musb driver.
Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
Let's use SYSC_QUIRK_REINIT_ON_CTX_LOST quirk for am335x otg instead of
SYSC_QUIRK_REINIT_ON_RESUME quirk as we can now handle the context loss
in a more generic way.

At least on am335x, the gpmc module needs a re-init and reset if context
has been lost on resume. We can enable this for all gpmc revisions as we
check if the context was lost before restoring it.

At least am335x gpmc module needs a reset in addition to re-init on resume.
Let's add a quirk handling for reset on re-init.
Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
Some interconnect target modules such as otg and gpmc on am335x need a
re-init after resume. As we also have PM runtime cases where the context
may be lost, let's handle these all with cpu_pm.
For the am335x resume path, we already have cpu_pm_resume() call
cpu_pm_cluster_exit().
Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
There is no need to restore context if it was not lost. Let's add a new
function sysc_check_context() to check for lost context. To make use of it,
we need to save the sysconfig register status on enable and disable.
Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
On resume we can get a warning at kernel/time/timekeeping.c:824 for
timekeeping_suspended.
Let's fix this by adding separate functions for sysc_poll_reset_sysstatus()
and sysc_poll_reset_sysconfig() and have the new functions handle also
timekeeping_suspended.
If iopoll at some point supports timekeeping_suspended, we can just drop
the custom handling from these functions.

Here is the big set of driver core patches for 5.15-rc1.
These do change a number of different things across different
subsystems, and because of that, there were 2 stable tags created that
might have already come into your tree from different pulls that did the
following
- changed the bus remove callback to return void
- sysfs iomem_get_mapping rework
The latter one will cause a tiny merge issue with your tree, as there
was a last-minute fix for this in 5.14 in your tree, but the fixup
should be "obvious". If you want me to provide a fixed merge for this,
please let me know.
Other than those two things, there's only a few small things in here:
- kernfs performance improvements for huge numbers of sysfs

After commit a6d90e9f22 ("bus: ti-sysc: AM3: RNG is GP only"), clang
with -Wimplicit-fallthrough enabled warns:
drivers/bus/ti-sysc.c:2958:3: warning: unannotated fall-through between
switch labels [-Wimplicit-fallthrough]
default:
^
drivers/bus/ti-sysc.c:2958:3: note: insert 'break;' to avoid
fall-through
default:

break;
1 warning generated.
Clang's version of this warning is a little bit more pedantic than
GCC's. Add the missing break to satisfy it to match what has been done
all over the kernel tree.

We have changed the return type for sysc_check_active_timer() from -EBUSY
to -ENXIO, but the gpt12 system timer fix still checks for -EBUSY. We are
also not returning on other errors like we did earlier as noted by
Pavel Machek <pavel@denx.de>.
Commit 3ff340e24c ("bus: ti-sysc: Fix gpt12 system timer issue with
reserved status") should have been updated for commit 65fb736761
("bus: ti-sysc: suppress err msg for timers used as clockevent/source").
Let's fix the issue by checking for -ENXIO and returning on any other
errors as suggested by Pavel Machek <pavel@denx.de>.

For the smartreflex device, we need to disable smartreflex on SoC idle,
and have been using pm_runtime_irq_safe() to do that. But we want to
remove the irq_safe usage as PM runtime takes a permanent usage count
on the parent device with it.
In order to remove the need for pm_runtime_irq_safe(), let's gate
the clock directly in the driver. This removes the need to call PM runtime
during idle, and allows us to switch to using CPU_PM in the following
patch.
Note that the smartreflex interconnect target module is configured for smart
idle, but the clock does not have autoidle capability, and needs to be gated
manually. If the clock supported autoidle, we would not need to even gate
the clock.
With this change, we can now remove the related quirk flags for ti-sysc
also.

with an invalid power up execution environment. Additionally, add
a debug log to print the execution environment and MHI state
before a power up is attempted to confirm if the device is in an
expected state. This helps clarify reasons for power up failures
such as the device being found in a PBL or Emergency Download
Mode execution environment and the host expected a full power up
with Pass-Through and no image loading involved.

Currently, the MHI controller driver defines which channels should
have their inbound buffers allocated and queued. But ideally, this is
something that should be decided by the MHI device driver instead,
which actually deals with that buffers.
Add a flag parameter to mhi_prepare_for_transfer allowing to specify
if buffers have to be allocated and queued by the MHI stack.
Keep auto_queue flag for now, but should be removed at some point.

The Intel IXP4xx SoCs have an expansion bus that is usually just
used for flash memory and configured by the boot loaders and can
be accessed using the "simple-bus".
However some devices need more elaborate configuration and then we
need to provide a proper 3-unit address space indicating chip
select for each device and provide timing and similar information.

In case of a switch DPAA2 object, the interface ID is also needed when
querying for the object endpoint. Extend fsl_mc_get_endpoint() so that
users can also pass the interface ID that are interested in.

Make the RNG on AM3 GP only.
Based on this patch from TI v5.4 tree which is based on hwmod data
which are now removed:

|
| On non-GP devices the RNG is controlled by the secure-side software,
| like in DRA7xx hwmod we should not control this IP when we are not

Some versions of the MC firmware wrongly report 0 for register base
address of the DPMCP associated with child DPRC objects thus rendering
them unusable. This is particularly troublesome in ACPI boot scenarios
where the legacy way of extracting this base address from the device
tree does not apply.
Given that DPMCPs share the same base address, workaround this by using
the base address extracted from the root DPRC container.

Add a bus notifier to pause the MC firmware as soon as its device
gets discovered. This is needed as the firmware is live thus, as soon
as the SMMU gets probed and enabled, it will crash the firmware due to
SMMU context faults. The firmware will be resumed at probe time, after
the required IOMMU setup was completed.

The driver core ignores the return value of this callback because there
is only little it can do when a device disappears.
This is the final bit of a long lasting cleanup quest where several
buses were converted to also return void from their remove callback.
Additionally some resource leaks were fixed that were caused by drivers
returning an error code in the expectation that the driver won't go
away.
With struct bus_type::remove returning void it's prevented that newly
implemented buses return an ignored error code and so don't anticipate
wrong expectations for driver authors.

The MRU value used by the MHI MBIM network interface affects
the throughput performance of the interface. Different modem
models use different default MRU sizes based on their bandwidth
capabilities. Large values generally result in higher throughput
for larger packet sizes.
In addition if the MRU used by the MHI device is larger than that
specified in the MHI net device the data is fragmented and needs
to be re-assembled which generates a (single) warning message about
the fragmented packets. Setting the MRU on both ends avoids the
extra processing to re-assemble the packets.
This patch allows the documented MRU for a modem to be automatically
set as the MHI net device MRU avoiding fragmentation and improving
throughput performance.

Here is the attempt to start cleaning it up by splitting out panic and
oops helpers.
There are several purposes of doing this:
- dropping dependency in bug.h
- dropping a loop by moving out panic_notifier.h
- unload kernel.h from something which has its own domain
At the same time convert users tree-wide to use new headers, although for
the time being include new header back to kernel.h to avoid twisted
indirected includes for existing users.

During system resume, MHI host triggers M3->M0 transition and then waits
for target device to enter M0 state. Once done, the device queues a state
change event into ctrl event ring and notifies MHI host by raising an
interrupt, where a tasklet is scheduled to process this event. In most
cases, the tasklet is served timely and wait operation succeeds.
However, there are cases where CPU is busy and cannot serve this tasklet
for some time. Once delay goes long enough, the device moves itself to M1
state and also interrupts MHI host after inserting a new state change
event to ctrl ring. Later when CPU finally has time to process the ring,
there will be two events:
1. For M3->M0 event, which is the first event to be processed queued first.
The tasklet handler serves the event, updates device state to M0 and
wakes up the task.
2. For M0->M1 event, which is processed later, the tasklet handler
triggers M1->M2 transition and updates device state to M2 directly,
then wakes up the MHI host (if it is still sleeping on this wait queue).
Note that although MHI host has been woken up while processing the first
event, it may still has no chance to run before the second event is
processed. In other words, MHI host has to keep waiting till timeout
causing the M0 state to be missed.

On graceful power-down/disable transition, when an MHI reset is
performed, the MHI device loses its context, including interrupt
configuration. However, the current implementation is waiting for
event(irq) driven state change to confirm reset has been completed,
which never happens, and causes reset timeout, leading to unexpected
high latency of the mhi_power_down procedure (up to 45 seconds).
Fix that by moving to the recently introduced poll_reg_field method,
waiting for the reset bit to be cleared, in the same way as the
power_on procedure.

Jarkko Nikula <jarkko.nikula@bitmer.com> reported that Beagleboard
revision c2 stopped booting. Jarkko bisected the issue down to
commit 6cfcd5563b ("clocksource/drivers/timer-ti-dm: Fix suspend
and resume for am3 and am4").
Let's fix the issue by tagging system timers as reserved rather than
ignoring them. And let's not probe any interconnect target module child
devices for reserved modules.
This allows PM runtime to keep track of clocks and clockdomains for
the interconnect target module, and prevent the system timer from idling
as we already have SYSC_QUIRK_NO_IDLE and SYSC_QUIRK_NO_IDLE_ON_INIT
flags set for system timers.

This patch fixes crash after resuming from hibernation. The issue
occurs when mhi stack is builtin and so part of the 'restore-kernel',
causing the device to be resumed from 'restored kernel' with a no
more valid context (memory mappings etc...) and leading to spurious
crashes.
This patch fixes the issue by implementing proper freeze/restore
callbacks.

This driver's remove path calls del_timer(). However, that function
does not wait until the timer handler finishes. This means that the
timer handler may still be running after the driver's remove function
has finished, which would result in a use-after-free.
Fix by calling del_timer_sync(), which makes sure the timer handler
has finished, and unable to re-schedule itself.

Looks like the swsup_sidle_act quirk handling is unreliable for serial
ports. The serial ports just eventually stop idling until woken up and
re-idled again. As the serial port not idling blocks any deeper SoC idle
states, it's adds an annoying random flakeyness for power management.
Let's just switch to swsup_sidle quirk instead like we already do for
omap3 uarts. This means we manually idle the port instead of trying to
use the hardware autoidle features when not in use.
For more details on why the serial ports have been using swsup_idle_act,
see commit 66dde54e97 ("ARM: OMAP2+: hwmod-data: UART IP needs software
control to manage sidle modes"). It seems that the swsup_idle_act quirk
handling is not enough though, and for example the TI Android kernel
changed to using swsup_sidle with commit 77c34c84e1e0 ("OMAP4: HWMOD:
UART1: disable smart-idle.").

On am335x, suspend and resume only works once, and the system hangs if
suspend is attempted again. However, turns out suspend and resume works
fine multiple times if the USB OTG driver for musb controller is loaded.
The issue is caused my the interconnect target module losing context
during suspend, and it needs a restore on resume to be reconfigure again
as debugged earlier by Dave Gerlach <d-gerlach@ti.com>.
There are also other modules that need a restore on resume, like gpmc as
noted by Dave. So let's add a common way to restore an interconnect
target module based on a quirk flag. For now, let's enable the quirk for
am335x otg only to fix the suspend and resume issue.
As gpmc is not causing hangs based on tests with BeagleBone, let's patch
gpmc separately. For gpmc, we also need a hardware reset done before
restore according to Dave.
To reinit the modules, we decouple system suspend from PM runtime. We
replace calls to pm_runtime_force_suspend() and pm_runtime_force_resume()
with direct calls to internal functions and rely on the driver internal
state. There no point trying to handle complex system suspend and resume
quirks via PM runtime.
This is issue should have already been noticed with commit 1819ef2e2d
("bus: ti-sysc: Use swsup quirks also for am335x musb") when quirk
handling was added for am335x otg for swsup. But the issue went unnoticed
as having musb driver loaded hides the issue, and suspend and resume works
once without the driver loaded.

When parsing the structures in the shared memory, there are values which
come from the remote device. For example, a transfer completion event
will have a pointer to the tre in the relevant channel's transfer ring.
As another example, event ring elements may specify a channel in which
the event occurred, however the specified channel value may not be valid
as no channel is defined at that index even though the index may be less
than the maximum allowed index. Such values should be considered to be
untrusted, and validated before use. If we blindly use such values, we
may access invalid data or crash if the values are corrupted.
If validation fails, drop the relevant event.

Some controllers can choose to skip preparation for power up.
In that case, device context is initialized based on the pre_init
flag not being set during mhi_prepare_for_power_up(). There is no
reason MHI host driver should maintain and provide controllers
with two separate paths for preparing MHI.
Going forward, all controllers will be required to call the
mhi_prepare_for_power_up() API followed by their choice of sync
or async power up. This allows MHI host driver to get rid of the
pre_init flag and sets up a common way for all controllers to use
MHI. This also helps controllers fail early on during preparation

When moving from SYS_ERROR transition to a different execution
environment, MHI host relies on the BHI register read to spawn
the next image download or wait for READY -> M0 states. The
device can at times move the execution environment to mission
mode when a pass through is expected, which can result in a
stall. Initiate a wait for MHI READY and write M0 such that the
device can proceed with state change event updates for any new
execution environment being entered. This allows us to remove
conditionals in handling firmware load for PBL modes and keeps
the execution environment out of the picture as it can change at

using Firehose protocol with process as follows:
1. Modem boots up, enters AMSS execution environment and the
device later enters EDL (Emergency Download) mode through any
mechanism host can use such as a diag command.
2. Modem enters SYS_ERROR, MHI host handles SYS_ERROR transition.
3. EDL image for device to enter 'Flash Programmer' execution
environment is then flashed via BHI interface from host.
4. Modem enters MHI READY -> M0 and sends the Flash Programmer
execution environment change to host.
5. Following that, EDL/FIREHOSE channels (34, 35) are made
available from the host.

Device entering EDL or Emergency Download Mode will be in a
SYS_ERROR MHI state. This requires MHI host to proceed with the
EDL image download over BHI before device can enter an MHI READY
state and proceed with further bootup. Allow this to be handled
by relying on the execution environment check after SYS_ERROR
processing to determine whether to wait for an MHI READY or
download the EDL image over BHI after moving MHI PM state to
Power on Reset internally. This way handling is contained well
within the MHI core driver and helps pave the way for Flash

The check to see if we have reset the device after detecting syserr at
power_up is inverted. wait_for_event_timeout() returns 0 on failure,
and a positive value on success. The check is looking for non-zero
as a failure, which is likely to incorrectly cause a device init failure
if syserr was detected at power_up. Fix this.

In current design, whenever the BHI interrupt is fired, the
execution environment is updated. This can cause race conditions
and impede ongoing power up/down processing. For example, if a
power down is in progress, MHI host updates to a local "disabled"
execution environment. If a BHI interrupt fires later, that value
gets replaced with one from the BHI EE register. This impacts the
controller as it does not expect multiple RDDM execution
environment change status callbacks as an example. Another issue
would be that the device can enter mission mode and the execution
environment is updated, while device creation for SBL channels is
still going on due to slower PM state worker thread run, leading
to multiple attempts at opening the same channel.
Ensure that EE changes are handled only from appropriate places
and occur one after another and handle only PBL modes or RDDM EE
changes as critical events directly from the interrupt handler.
Simplify handling by waiting for SYS ERROR before handling RDDM.
This also makes sure that we use the correct execution environment
to notify the controller driver when the device resets to one of
the PBL execution environments.

Currently, client devices are created in SBL or AMSS (mission
mode) and only destroyed after power down or SYS ERROR. When
moving between certain execution environments, such as from SBL
to AMSS, no clean-up is required. This presents an issue where
SBL-specific channels are left open and client drivers now run in
an execution environment where they cannot operate. Fix this by
expanding the mhi_destroy_device() to do an execution environment
specific clean-up if one is requested. Close the gap and destroy
devices in such scenarios that allow SBL client drivers to clean
up once device enters mission mode.

MHI suspend/resume are symmetric and balanced procedures. If device is
not in M3 state on a resume, that means something happened behind our
back. In this case resume is aborted and error reported, to let the
controller handle the situation.
This is mainly requested for system wide suspend-resume operation in
PCI context which may lead to power-down/reset of the controller which
will then lose its MHI context. In such cases, PCI driver is supposed
to recover and reinitialize the device.

mhi_queue returns an error when the doorbell is not accessible in
the current state. This can happen when the device is in non M0
state, like M3, and needs to be waken-up prior ringing the DB. This
case is managed earlier by triggering an asynchronous M3 exit via
controller resume/suspend callbacks, that in turn will cause M0
transition and DB update.
So, since it's not an error but just delaying of doorbell update, there
is no reason to return an error.
This also fixes a use after free error for skb case, indeed a caller
queuing skb will try to free the skb if the queueing fails, but in
that case queueing has been done.

When the device is idle it is possible to move it into the lowest MHI
PM state (M3). In that mode, all MHI operations are suspended and the
PCI device can be safely put into PCI D3 state.
The device is then resumed from D3/M3 either because of host initiated
MHI operation (e.g. buffer TX) or because the device (modem) has
triggered wake-up via PME feature (e.g. on incoming data).
Same procedures can be used for system wide or runtime suspend/resume.

The PCI core can take care of proper PCI suspend/resume operations, but
this is discarded when the driver saves PCI state by its own. This
currently prevents the PCI core to enable PME (for modem initiated

The wake_db register presence is highly speculative and can fuze MHI
devices. Indeed, currently the wake_db register address is defined at
entry 127 of the 'Channel doorbell array', thus writing to this address
is equivalent to ringing the doorbell for channel 127, causing trouble
with some devics (e.g. SDX24 based modems) that get an unexpected
channel 127 doorbell interrupt.
This change fixes that issue by setting wake get/put as no-op for
pci_generic devices. The wake device sideband mechanism seems really
specific to each device, and is AFAIK not defined by the MHI spec.
It also removes zeroing initialization of wake_db register during MMIO
initialization, the register being set via wake_get/put accessors few
cycles later during M0 transition.

Loic improved the MHI PCI generic controller by adding support for DIAG channel,
PCI error handling, suspend/recovery/resume, and health check. Loic also added
support for resetting the MHI device as per the MHI specification. This includes
writing to a specific register for default cases and looking for controller
specific callback when provided.
Along with this Loic, also added a new API which gets the number for free TREs

this API and the current consumer is the "mhi-net" driver. For taking both the
"mhi-net" driver change and the API change, we created "mhi-net-immutable"

Carl added a patch which lets the controller driver to pass the custom IRQ

this feature is the ath11k MHI controller driver. For taking both the changes,
we created "mhi-ath11k-immutable" branch for this patch and merged into

Finally, Loic cleaned up the MHI queue APIs and fixed the shared MSI vector

We met some sporadic modem crashes during high throughput testing, this
has been root caused to a lack of elements in the event ring. Indeed,
the modem is simply crashing when event ring becomes empty.
It appears that the total number event ring elements is too low given
the performances of the modem (IPA hardware accelerator). This change
increases the number of elements in the hardware event ring to 2048,
which is aligned with what is defined in downstream version:
https://source.codeaurora.org/quic/la/kernel/msm-4.14/tree/arch/arm64/boot/dts/qcom/sm8150-mhi.dtsi?h=msm-4.14#n482
With this change, modem coes not crash anymore.
Note: An event ring element is 16-Byte, so the total memory usage of
a hardware event ring is now 32KB.

The main purpose of l3 IRQs is to catch OCP bus access errors and identify
corresponding code places by showing call stack, so it's important to
handle L3 interconnect errors as fast as possible. On RT these IRQs will
became threaded and will be scheduled much more late from the moment actual
error occurred so showing completely useless information.
Hence, mark l3 IRQs as IRQF_NO_THREAD so they will not be forced threaded
on RT or if force_irqthreads = true.

- The omap_prm reset driver needs to clear any reset bits deasserted by

we can have an oops with accelerators starting to boot with potentially

- Custom kernel configs are not automatically selecting simple-pm-bus

- We are not passing legacy platform data in auxdata with simple-pm-bus
like we do for simple-bus. We need to pass auxdata to simple-pm-bus so
it can pass it to of_platform_populate()
Then recent RCU changes started causing splats for cpuidle44xx that now
need RCU_NONIDLE added to the calls in several places
And then we have few device specific fixes:
- We need to remove legacy spi-cs-hig for gta04 display to work, and
set the gpio to active low
- Omap1 specific ohci-omap needs to call gpio_free()
- Droid4 needs to use padconf interrupt for the slider as the edge
gpio interrupts may be lost for deeper idle states

Adding userspace support for the MC (Management Complex) means exporting
an ioctl capable device file representing the root resource container.
This new functionality in the fsl-mc bus driver intends to provide
userspace applications an interface to interact with the MC firmware.
Commands that are composed in userspace are sent to the MC firmware
through the FSL_MC_SEND_MC_COMMAND ioctl. By default the implicit MC
I/O portal is used for this operation, but if the implicit one is busy,
a dynamic portal is allocated and then freed upon execution.
The command received through the ioctl interface is checked against a
known whitelist of accepted MC commands. Commands that attempt a change
in hardware configuration will need CAP_NET_ADMIN, while commands used
in debugging do not need it.

If controller driver has specified the irq_flags, mhi uses this specified
irq_flags. Otherwise, mhi uses default irq_flags.
The purpose of this change is to support one MSI vector for QCA6390.
MHI will use one same MSI vector too in this scenario.
In case of one MSI vector, IRQ_NO_BALANCING is needed when irq handler
is requested. The reason is if irq migration happens, the msi_data may
change too. However, the msi_data is already programmed to QCA6390
hardware during initialization phase. This msi_data inconsistence will
result in crash in kernel.
Another issue is in case of one MSI vector, IRQF_NO_SUSPEND will trigger
WARNINGS because QCA6390 wants to disable the IRQ during the suspend.
To avoid above two issues, QCA6390 driver specifies the irq_flags in case
of one MSI vector when mhi_register_controller is called.

The c6x architecture was added to the kernel in 2011 at a time when
running Linux on DSPs was widely seen as the logical evolution.
It appears the trend has gone back to running Linux on Arm based SoCs
with DSP, using a better supported software ecosystem, and having better
real-time behavior for the DSP code. An example of this is TI's own
Keystone2 platform.
The upstream kernel port appears to no longer have any users. Mark
Salter remained avaialable to review patches, but mentioned that
he no longer has access to working hardware himself. Without any
users, it's best to just remove the code completely to reduce the
work for cross-architecture code changes.
Many thanks to Mark for maintaining the code for the past ten years.

Every iteration of for_each_available_child_of_node() decrements
the reference count of the previous node, however when control is
transferred from the middle of the loop, as in the case of a return
or break or goto, there is no decrement thus ultimately resulting in
a memory leak.
Fix a potential memory leak in arm-integrator-lm.c by inserting
of_node_put() before a return statement.

The driver core ignores the return value of struct device_driver::remove
because there is only little that can be done. To simplify the quest to
make this function return void, let struct sunxi_rsb_driver::remove
return void, too. All users already unconditionally return 0, this
commit makes this obvious and ensures future users don't behave
differently. To simplify even further, make axp20x_device_remove()
return void instead of returning 0 unconditionally, too.

After converting am335x to probe devices with simple-pm-bus I noticed
that we are not passing auxdata for of_platform_populate() like we do
with simple-bus.
While device tree using SoCs should no longer need platform data, there
are still quite a few drivers that still need it as can be seen with
git grep OF_DEV_AUXDATA. We want to have simple-pm-bus be usable as a
replacement for simple-bus also for cases where OF_DEV_AUXDATA is still
needed.
Let's fix the issue by passing auxdata as platform data to simple-pm-bus.
That way the SoCs needing this can pass the auxdata with OF_DEV_AUXDATA.
And let's pass the auxdata for omaps to fix the issue for am335x.
As an alternative solution, adding simple-pm-bus handling directly to
drivers/of/platform.c was considered, but we would still need simple-pm-bus
device driver. So passing auxdata as platform data seems like the simplest
solution.

The fsl_mc_get_endpoint() should return a pointer to the connected
fsl_mc device, if there is one. By interrogating the MC firmware, we
know if there is an endpoint or not so when the endpoint device is
actually searched on the fsl-mc bus and not found we are hitting the
case in which the device has not been yet discovered by the bus.

Since system firmware is likely to use the RSB bus to communicate with a
PMIC while the system is suspended, we cannot make any assumptions about
the controller state after resuming. Thus it is important to completely
reinitialize the controller.
The RSB bus needs to be ready as soon as IRQs are enabled, to handle
wakeup event IRQs coming from the PMIC. Thus it uses NOIRQ callbacks.

This separates the resource acquisition from the hardware initialization
phase, so the hardware initialization can be repeated after system
suspend/resume. The same is done for the exit/remove function, except
that there is no resource deallocation phase due to the use of devres.
The requested RSB clock frequency is stored in `struct sunxi_rsb` so it
will be available when reinitializing the hardware.

MHI hardware channels are usually the hardware accelerated data path
e.g. IP packets path for modems. This path needs to be optimized for
low latency and high throughput. After several tests on FN980m SDX55
based modem, it seems 1ms is a good default irq_moderation value:
- It allows to reach the maximum download throughput
- It introduces limited latency (5ms is too high)
- It prevents interrupt flooding
