e5a7431f5a gpio: gpio-aspeed-sgpio: Fix wrong hwirq base in irq handler
Each aspeed sgpio bank has 64 gpio pins(32 input pins and 32 output pins).
The hwirq base for each sgpio bank should be multiples of 64 rather than
multiples of 32.

3e4d9a4850 gpio: virtio: remove timeout
The driver imposes an arbitrary one second timeout on virtio requests,
but the specification doesn't prevent the virtio device from taking
longer to process requests, so remove this timeout to support all
systems and device implementations.

9a5875f14b gpio: dln2: Fix interrupts when replugging the device
When replugging the device the following message shows up:

gpio gpiochip2: (dln2): detected irqchip that is shared with multiple gpiochips: please fix the driver.

This also has the effect that interrupts won't work.
The same problem would also show up if multiple devices where plugged in.

Fix this by allocating the irq_chip data structure per instance like other
drivers do.

I don't know when this problem appeared, but it is present in 5.10.

eff5cdd745 gpio: virtio: Add IRQ support
This patch adds IRQ support for the virtio GPIO driver. Note that this
uses the irq_bus_lock/unlock() callbacks, since those operations over
virtio may sleep.

cfe6807d82 gpio: Allow per-parent interrupt data
The core gpiolib code is able to deal with multiple interrupt parents
for a single gpio irqchip. It however only allows a single piece
of data to be conveyed to all flow handlers (either the gpio_chip
or some other, driver-specific data).

This means that drivers have to go through some interesting dance
to find the correct context, something that isn't great in interrupt
context (see aebdc8abc9 for a prime
example).

Instead, offer an optional way for a pinctrl/gpio driver to provide
an array of pointers which gets used to provide the correct context
to the flow handler.

aa4858eb82 gpio: aggregator: Wrap access to gpiochip_fwd.tmp[]
The tmp[] member of the gpiochip_fwd structure is used to store both the
temporary values bitmap and the desc pointers for operations on multiple

gpio_fwd_get_multiple() and gpio_fwd_set_multiple().

Introduce (a) accessors for both arrays and (b) a macro to calculate the
needed storage size. This confines the layout of the tmp[] member into

6fda593f30 gpio: mockup: Convert to use software nodes
The gpio-mockup driver creates the properties that are shared between
platform and GPIO devices. Because of that, the properties may not
be removed at the proper point of time without provoking a use-after-free
as shown in the following backtrace:

  refcount_t: underflow; use-after-free.
  WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 103 at lib/refcount.c:28 refcount_warn_saturate+0xd1/0x120

  Call Trace:
  kobject_put+0xdc/0xf0
  software_node_notify_remove+0xa8/0xc0
  device_del+0x15a/0x3e0

That's why the driver has to manage the lifetime of the software nodes
by itself.

The problem originates from the old device_add_properties() API, but
has been only revealed after the commit bd1e336aa8 ("driver core: platform:
Remove platform_device_add_properties()"). Hence, it's used as a landmark
for backporting.

The commit 15add06841 ("gpio: pca953x: add ->set_config implementation")
introduced support for bias setting. However this, due to being half-baked,
brought potential issues:
 - the turning bias via disabling makes the pin floating for a while;

part under the corresponding conditional.

cef0d022f5 gpiolib: acpi: Make set-debounce-timeout failures non fatal
Commit 8dcb7a15a5 ("gpiolib: acpi: Take into account debounce settings")
made the gpiolib-acpi code call gpio_set_debounce_timeout() when requesting
GPIOs.

This in itself is fine, but it also made gpio_set_debounce_timeout()
errors fatal, causing the requesting of the GPIO to fail. This is causing
regressions. E.g. on a HP ElitePad 1000 G2 various _AEI specified GPIO
ACPI event sources specify a debouncy timeout of 20 ms, but the
pinctrl-baytrail.c only supports certain fixed values, the closest
ones being 12 or 24 ms and pinctrl-baytrail.c responds with -EINVAL
when specified a value which is not one of the fixed values.

This is causing the acpi_request_own_gpiod() call to fail for 3
ACPI event sources on the HP ElitePad 1000 G2, which in turn is causing
e.g. the battery charging vs discharging status to never get updated,
even though a charger has been plugged-in or unplugged.

Make gpio_set_debounce_timeout() errors non fatal, warning about the
failure instead, to fix this regression.

Note we should probably also fix various pinctrl drivers to just
pick the first bigger discrete value rather then returning -EINVAL but
this will need to be done on a per driver basis, where as this fix
at least gets us back to where things were before and thus restores
functionality on devices where this was lost due to
gpio_set_debounce_timeout() errors.

889a1b3f35 gpio: mpc8xxx: Use 'devm_gpiochip_add_data()' to simplify the code and avoid a leak
If an error occurs after a 'gpiochip_add_data()' call it must be undone by
a corresponding 'gpiochip_remove()' as already done in the remove function.

To simplify the code a fix a leak in the error handling path of the probe,
use the managed version instead (i.e. 'devm_gpiochip_add_data()')

7d6588931c gpio: mpc8xxx: Fix a potential double iounmap call in 'mpc8xxx_probe()'
Commit 76c47d1449 ("gpio: mpc8xxx: Add ACPI support") has switched to a
managed version when dealing with 'mpc8xxx_gc->regs'. So the corresponding
'iounmap()' call in the error handling path and in the remove should be
removed to avoid a double unmap.

This also allows some simplification in the probe. All the error handling
paths related to managed resources can be direct returns and a NULL check
in what remains in the error handling path can be removed.

Commit 698b8eeaed ("gpio/mpc8xxx: change irq handler from chained to normal")

not updated the error handling path accordingly.

Add the now missing 'irq_domain_remove()' call which balances a previous
'irq_domain_create_linear() call.

6b4a2a4272 gpio: viperboard: remove platform_set_drvdata() call in probe
The platform_set_drvdata() call is only useful if we need to retrieve back
the private information.
Since the driver doesn't do that, it's not useful to have it.

This change removes it.
Also removing with this change is some logging about the failure to init
the gpio chip data. There are other logging methods to view that this
failed.

4c59714a41 gpio: remove the obsolete MX35 3DS BOARD MC9S08DZ60 GPIO functions
Commit e1324ece2a ("ARM: imx: Remove i.MX35 board files") removes the
config MACH_MX35_3DS in arch/arm/mach-imx/Kconfig.

Hence, since then, the MX35 3DS BOARD MC9S08DZ60 GPIO functions are dead
code as its config GPIO_MC9S08DZ60 depends on the config MACH_MX35_3DS.

Luckily, ./scripts/checkkconfigsymbols.py warns on non-existing configs:

MACH_MX35_3DS
