48157007c8 staging: vc04_services: fix up some printk warnings
Some more printk warnings snuck in recently, no one seems to be building
this on 64bit machines...

d1f7e8f85b s390: squash facilities_src.h into gen_facilities.c
We generally expect headers in arch/$(ARCH)/include/asm directory
are included from kernel sources, but facilities_src.h is not;
it is included from the arch/s390/tools/gen_facilities.c tool.

There is no reason to expose this header to the public include path.
Furthermore, facilities_src.h makes sure to be included only from
gen_facilities.c by the following:

  #ifndef S390_GEN_FACILITIES_C
  #error "This file can only be included by gen_facilities.c"
  #endif

This check can be removed by merging the two files.

72cc9918ef s390: delete unneeded #include <linux/kconfig.h> from facilities_src.h
The header facilities_src.h is only included from gen_facilities.c
and the tool is compiled with the following extra options:

    HOSTCFLAGS_gen_facilities.o += -Wall $(LINUXINCLUDE)

Please note $(LINUXINCLUDE) is expanded into build options including:

    -include $(srctree)/include/linux/kconfig.h

So, the Makefile always forces the tool to include kconfig.h, i.e.,
the #include <linux/kconfig.h> directive in the header is redundant.

9224c15c43 staging: vchiq_arm: change order during module probe
The current order during module probe is prone to race conditions:

* debugfs entries, sysfs entries, platform code

So fix this by swapping the steps debugfs entries and platform code.
As a benefit this saves us a clean up step in the error path.

2ea1569928 staging: vc04_services: parse_rx_slots() - Fix compiler warning
vc04_services contains a debug logging mechanism. The log is
maintained in a shared memory area between the kernel and the
firmware. Changing the sizes of the data in this area would
require a firmware change which is distributed independently
from the kernel binary.

One of the items logged is the address of received messages.
This address is a pointer, but the debugging slot used to store
the information is a 32 bit integer.

Luckily, this value is never interpreted by anything other
then debug tools and it is expected that a human debugging
the kernel interpret it.

This change adds a cast to long before the original cast
to int to silence the warning.

49bec49fd7 staging: vc04_services: remove vchiq_copy_from_user
The vchiq_copy_from_user function is not portable
and is consider "bad practice." Replace this function
with a callback based mechanism that is passed downward
on the stack. When it is actually time to copy the data,
the callback is called to copy the data into the message.

This callback is provided internally for userland calls
through ioctls on the device.

NOTE: Internal clients will need to be modified to work
with the new internal API.

Test Run:
vchiq_test -p 1
vchiq_test -f 10

Both tests pass.

Internal API Changes:

Change vchi_msg_queue to:
int32_t
vchi_msg_queue(VCHI_SERVICE_HANDLE_T handle,
	       ssize_t (*copy_callback)(void *context, void *dest,
				        size_t offset, size_t maxsize),
	       void *context,
	       uint32_t data_size );

Remove:
vchi_msg_queuev_ex
vchi_msg_queuev

These functions were not implemented anyway so no need to fix them. It's
easier to just remove them.

8217becc1b staging: unisys: visorbus: convert client_bus_info sysfs to debugfs
Previously, the sysfs entry (assuming traditional sysfs mountpoint):

    /sys/bus/visorbus/devices/visorbus<n>/client_bus_info

violated kernel conventions by printing more than one item. This along
with the fact that the data emitted was diagnostic data (intended to
shadow the client driver info provided via s-Par livedumps) made it a
logical candidate for debugfs. So this patch moves this sysfs entry to
debugfs as (assuming traditional debugfs mountpoint):

    /sys/kernel/debug/visorbus/visorbus<n>/client_bus_info

Data for this debugfs is emitted using the preferred seq_file interface,
which allowed a vastly-simplified version of vbuschannel_print_devinfo()
to format the individual output components.

Functionality was verified as follows:

  [root@sparguest visorbus]# mount | grep debug
  debugfs on /sys/kernel/debug type debugfs (rw)

4d05564750 wusbcore: dev-sysfs: use permission-specific DEVICE_ATTR variants
Use DEVICE_ATTR_WO for write ony attributes and DEVICE_ATTR_RO for read
only attributes. This simplifies the source code, improves readbility,
and reduces the chance of inconsistencies.

The semantic patch for the RO case is as follows:

d79cda045e usbip: fix possibility of dereference by NULLL pointer in vhci_hcd.c
This patch fixes possibility of dereference by NULLL pointer in "[PATCH
v5 1/3] usbip: vhci extension: modifications to vhci driver" which has
been merged to 4.9-rc1. It occurs when a URB with pointer to invalid
USB/IP device is enqueued in race condition against detach operation.

A pointer was passed to vdev_to_vhci() before NULL check.
In vdev_to_vhci(), there's a dereference by the pointer.

This patch moves vdev_to_vhci() after NULL check of the pointer.

220c61b6f7 usbip: deletion of incorrect socket descriptor checking
This patch removes checking of socket descriptor value in daemons.

It was checked to be less than FD_SETSIZE(1024 usually) but it's not
correct.

To be exact, the maximum value of descriptor comes from
rlimit(RLIMIT_NOFILE).

Following kernel code determines the value :
    get_unused_fd_flags() : fs/files.c
    __alloc_fd() : fs/files.c
    expand_files() : fs/files.c

The defalut (soft limit) is defines as INR_OPEN_CUR(1024) in
include/linux/fs.h which is referenced form INIT_RLIMS in
include/asm-generic/resource.h. The value may be modified with ulimt,
sysctl, security configuration and etc.

With the kernel code above, when socket() system call returns positive
value, the value must be within rlimit(RLIMIT_NOFILE). No extra
checking is needed when socket() returns positive.

Without 'usbip: vhci number of ports extension' patch set, there's no
practical problem because of number of USB port restriction. With the
patch set, the value of socket descriptor can exceed FD_SETSIZE(1024
usually) if the rlimit is changed.

7309aa847e cdc-acm: fix uninitialized variable
variable struct usb_cdc_parsed_header h may be used
uninitialized in acm_probe.

In kernel 4.8.

    /* handle quirks deadly to normal probing*/
    if (quirks == NO_UNION_NORMAL)

        ...

        goto skip_normal_probe;
    }

we bypass call to

    cdc_parse_cdc_header(&h, intf, buffer, buflen);

but later use h in

    if (h.usb_cdc_country_functional_desc) { /* export the country data */

74198eb4a4 Drivers: hv: vmbus: Base host signaling strictly on the ring state
One of the factors that can result in the host concluding that a given
guest in mounting a DOS attack is if the guest generates interrupts
to the host when the host is not expecting it. If these "spurious"
interrupts reach a certain rate, the host can throttle the guest to
minimize the impact. The host computation of the "expected number
of interrupts" is strictly based on the ring transitions. Until
the host logic is fixed, base the guest logic to interrupt solely
on the ring state.
