2ecccf90f2 ARM: 7029/1: Make cpu_architecture into a global variable
The CPU architecture really should not be changing at runtime, so
make it a global variable instead of a function.

The cpu_architecture() function declared in <asm/system.h> remains
the correct way to read this variable from C code.

40c6d8aee4 ARM: 7022/1: allow to detect conflicting zreladdrs
Boards used to specify zreladdr in their Makefile.boot with
zreladdr-y := x, so conflicting zreladdrs were silently overwritten.
This patch changes this to zreladdr-y += x, so that we end
up with multiple words in zreladdr in such a case. We can
detect this later and complain if necessary.

4f5ef9226a ARM: 7073/1: debug: augment DEBUG_LL Kconfig help to clarify behaviour
Enabled DEBUG_LL hardcodes the UART address into the kernel and results
in a non-portable kernel image. Since this option is only intended for
use when debugging early boot failures, supporting multiple platforms
in such a configuration is not the intended use-case.

This patch documents this limitation in the DEBUG_LL Kconfig help text,
so that users are aware of the portability restrictions that are associated
with enabling low-level debugging support.

17916b284e ARM: 7072/1: debug: use kconfig choice for selecting DEBUG_LL UART
Enabling CONFIG_DEBUG_LL (which is required for earlyprintk) hardwires
the debug UART address into the kernel, so that we can print before the
platform is initialised.

If the user inadvertently selects multiple platforms with DEBUG_LL
enabled, the UART address may not be correct and will likely cause the
kernel to hang in the very early stages of boot.

This patch, based on a skeleton from Russell, uses a Kconfig choice for
selecting the DEBUG_LL UART, therefore allowing the user to make a
choice about the supported platform when DEBUG_LL is enabled.

ec4f5423b5 ARM: S3C2443: Remove redundant s3c_register_clocks call for init_clocks
Since commit af337f3e63
"ARM: S3C2443: Move parts of the clock code to common clock file",
the init_clocks array is moved to arch/arm/plat-s3c24xx/s3c2443-clock.c.
Now we call s3c_register_clocks for init_clocks in s3c2443_common_init_clocks.

Thus we can remove the empty init_clocks array here and remove the
redundant s3c_register_clocks call for init_clocks in s3c2443_init_clocks.

9eb4b91e69 arm/tegra: Harmony: Configure PMC for low-level interrupts
Without this, the PMC continually detects an interrupt when the PMU_IRQ
line is high, causing the tps6686x IRQ handler thread to hog an entire
CPU.

This change was originally written by Wei Ni <wni@nvidia.com> for Seaboard
in the ChromeOS kernel.

Long-term, this should probably be moved into some kind of PMU driver,
or perhaps integrated into the GPIO/IRQ/pinmux system?

48f2eceefb arm/tegra: pinmux: ioremap registers
Use ioremap to obtain access to registers instead of using static
mappings. This reduces the number of users of the static mappings, which
will eventually allow them to be removed.

Note that on Tegra30, the number of register "banks" will decrease to 2,
and the packing of specific bits into registers will change significantly.
That's why this change adds the "*_bank" fields to the pingroup tables,
rather than implementing some more hard-coded scheme.

Also, completely remove the implementation of suspend/resume; Tegra doesn't
yet support suspend/resume, and the implementation is complex for the
general pinmux driver:

* Not all registers are used within each bank, so we probably shouldn't
just iterate over every register in the bank, and save/restore it,
since that would mean touching undefined registers.

* Registers are shared between pingroups, so we can't simply iterate over
each pingroup, and save/restore the registers it uses.

It'd probably be best have probe() calculate a bitmask of actually-used
registers for each bank, and have suspend/resume iterate over those
bitmaps.

Oh, and Real Soon Now, I should be looking into converting this driver to
the new pinmux/pinctrl subsystem, so I didn't want to put too much work
into the current incarnation.

v2: s/space/bank/ to match comments on reg_* fields in pinmux.h.
    Re-order bank/reg parameters to pg_readl/pg_writel.

0cdc8b921d ARM: switch from NO_MACH_MEMORY_H to NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H
Given that we want the default to not have any <mach/memory.h> and given
that there are now fewer cases where it is still provided than the cases
where it is not at this point, this makes sense to invert the logic and
just identify the exception cases.

The word "need" instead of "have" was chosen to construct the config
symbol so not to suggest that having a mach/memory.h file is actually
a feature that one should aim for.

98da352953 pinctrl: add a driver for the U300 pinmux
This adds a driver for the U300 pinmux portions of the system
controller "SYSCON". It also serves as an example of how to use
the pinmux subsystem. This driver also houses the platform data
for the only supported platform.

This deletes the old U300 driver in arch/arm/mach-u300 and
replace it with a driver using the new subsystem.

The new driver is considerably fatter than the old one, but it
also registers all 467 pins of the system and adds the power
and EMIF pin groups and corresponding functions. The idea
is to use this driver as a a reference for other
implementation so it needs to be as complete and verbose
as possible.

b02b917211 ARM: OMAP3: PM: fix I/O wakeup and I/O chain clock control detection
The way that we detect which OMAP3 chips support I/O wakeup and
software I/O chain clock control is broken.

Currently, I/O wakeup is marked as present for all OMAP3 SoCs other
than the AM3505/3517. The TI81xx family of SoCs are at present
considered to be OMAP3 SoCs, but don't support I/O wakeup. To resolve
this, convert the existing blacklist approach to an explicit,
whitelist support, in which only SoCs which are known to support I/O
wakeup are listed. (At present, this only includes OMAP34xx,
OMAP3503, OMAP3515, OMAP3525, OMAP3530, and OMAP36xx.)

Also, the current code incorrectly detects the presence of a
software-controllable I/O chain clock on several chips that don't
support it. This results in writes to reserved bitfields, unnecessary
delays, and console messages on kernels running on those chips:

    http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-omap/msg58735.html

Convert this test to a feature test with a chip-by-chip whitelist.

ff2f8e5ffb ARM: OMAP3: PM: fix pwrdm_post_transition call sequence
The context lost count is modified in omap_sram_idle() path when

1194d7b824 ARM: OMAP3+: Update DPLL Fint range for OMAP36xx and OMAP4xxx devices
The OMAP36xx and OMAP4xxx DPLLs have a different internal reference
clock frequency (fint) operating range than OMAP3430. Update the
dpll_test_fint() function to check for the correct frequency ranges
for OMAP36xx and OMAP4xxx.

For OMAP36xx and OMAP4xxx devices, DPLLs fint range is 0.5MHz to

cf2a82d746 ARM: OMAP4: clock: Add missing clock divider for OCP_ABE_ICLK
The parent clock of the OCP_ABE_ICLK is the AESS_FCLK and the
parent clock of the AESS_FCLK is the ABE_FCLK...

ABE_FCLK --> AESS_FCLK --> OCP_ABE_ICLK

The AESS_FCLK and OCP_ABE_ICLK clocks both have dividers which
determine their operational frequency. However, the dividers for
the AESS_FCLK and OCP_ABE_ICLK are controlled via a single bit,
which is the CM1_ABE_AESS_CLKCTRL[24] bit. When this bit is set to
0, the AESS_FCLK divider is 1 and the OCP_ABE_ICLK divider is 2.
Similarly, when this bit is set to 1, the AESS_FCLK divider is 2
and the OCP_ABE_ICLK is 1.

The above relationship between the AESS_FCLK and OCP_ABE_ICLK
dividers ensure that the OCP_ABE_ICLK clock is always half the
frequency of the ABE_CLK...

OCP_ABE_ICLK = ABE_FCLK/2

The divider for the OCP_ABE_ICLK is currently missing so add a
divider that will ensure the OCP_ABE_ICLK frequency is always half
the ABE_FCLK frequency.

49642ac816 ARM: OMAP3+: dpll: use DPLLs recalc function instead of omap2_get_dpll_rate
This is a continuation of Mike Turquette's patch "OMAP3+: use
DPLL's round_rate when setting rate".

omap3_noncore_dpll_set_rate() and omap3_noncore_dpll_enable() call
omap2_get_dpll_rate() explicitly. It may be necessary for some
DPLLs to use a different function and so use the DPLLs recalc()
function pointer instead.

An example is the DPLL_ABE on OMAP4 which can have a 4X multiplier
in addition to the usual MN multipler and dividers and therefore
uses a different round_rate and recalc function.

273a1ce9cf ARM: OMAP3+: dpll: assign clk rate from rounded rate during rate set
The rounded rate can differ from target rate, so to better reflect
reality set clk->rate equal to the rounded rate when setting DPLL frequency.
This avoids issues where the DPLL frequency is slightly different than what
debugfs clock tree reports using the old target rate.

An example of a clock that requires this is DPLL_ABE on OMAP4 which
can have a 4x multiplier on top of the usual MN dividers depending on
register settings. This requires a special round_rate function that
might yield a rate different from the initial target.

a1900f2efe ARM: OMAP4: clock: round_rate and recalc functions for DPLL_ABE
OMAP4 DPLL_ABE can enable a 4X multipler on top of the normal MN multipler
and divider. This is achieved by setting CM_CLKMODE_DPLL_ABE.DPLL_REGM4XEN
bit in CKGEN module of CM1. From the OMAP4 TRM:

Fdpll = Fref x 2 x (4 x M/(N+1)) in case REGM4XEN bit field is set (only
applicable to DPLL_ABE).

Add new round_rate() and recalc() functions for OMAP4, that check the
setting of REGM4XEN bit and handle this appropriately. The new functions
are a simple wrapper on top of the existing omap2_dpll_round_rate() and
omap2_dpll_get_rate() functions to handle the REGM4XEN bit.

The REGM4XEN bit is only implemented for the ABE DPLL on OMAP4 and so
only dpll_abe_ck uses omap4_dpll_regm4xen_round_rate() and
omap4_dpll_regm4xen_recalc() functions.

The current approach is an intermediate step before having only
one machine descriptor that will use some generic DT aware
functions.

1f8a7d5207 ARM: OMAP: omap_device: Add omap_device_get_by_hwmod_name
An API which translates a standard hwmod name to corresponding
platform_device is useful for drivers when they need to look up the
device associated with a hwmod name to map back into the device
structure pointers. These ideally should be used by drivers in
mach directory. Using a generic hwmod name like "gpu" instead of
the actual device name which could change in the future, allows
us to:
a) Could in effect help replace apis such as omap2_get_mpuss_device,
omap2_get_iva_device, omap2_get_l3_device, omap4_get_dsp_device,
etc..
b) Scale to more devices rather than be restricted to named functions
c) Simplify driver's platform_data from passing additional fields
all doing the same thing with different function pointer names
just for accessing a different device name.

89bace652c ARM: always use ARM_UNWIND for thumb2 kernels
Thumb2 kernels cannot be built with frame pointers, but can use the
ARM_UNWIND feature for unwinding instead. This makes sure that all
features that rely on unwinding includeing CONFIG_LATENCYTOP and
FAULT_INJECTION_STACKTRACE_FILTER do not enable frame pointers
when the unwinder is already selected, and we always build with
the unwinder when we want a thumb2 kernel, to make sure we do not
get the frame pointers instead.

A different option would be to redefine the CONFIG_FRAME_POINTERS
option on ARM to mean builing with either frame pointers or
the unwinder, and then select which one to use based on the
CPU architecture or another user option. That would still allow
building thumb2 kernels without the unwinder but would also be
more confusing.

Remove OMAP4_USBC1_ICUSB_PWRDNZ_MASK during enable/disable PWRDNZ mode for

with the control module programming guide. This fixes a bug where if trying to

affected by a changing SDMMC1_VDDS.

Software must keep MMC1_PBIAS cell and MMC1_IO cell PWRDNZ signals low whenever

MMC1 is based on SDMMC1_VDDS whereas USBC1 is based on SIM_VDDS therefore

ddd5f51bf6 arm/imx: change mxc_init_l2x0() to an imx31/35 specific call
The mxc_init_l2x0() should really be an imx31/35 specific call.
The patch removes early_initcall from mxc_init_l2x0() and get imx31
and imx35 soc specific function calls mxc_init_l2x0(), so that it's
not necessarily to be called for all imx socs when we build single
image for multiple imx socs.

Thus the function can be renamed to imx3_init_l2x0() and put into
mm-imx3.c. It also changes the return type from integer to void.
From what I see, the integer was picked just to satisfy early_initcall
prototype.

1743d14fb6 ARM: OMAP: mcbsp: Move sidetone clock management to mach-omap2/mcbsp.c
Active sidetone requires that McBSP interface clock doesn't idle and there
is no mechanism in hwmod to turn autoidling on/off in runtime. McBSP2 and 3
in OMAP34xx share their interface clock with McBSP sidetone module and
that interface clock must be active when the sidetone is operating.

Sidetone has its own autoidle bit which should keep the interface clock
active but it is broken. Putting the McBSP core to no-idle mode when the
sidetone is active is no good either since it results to higher power
consumption when using the threshold based DMA transfers.

For making the McBSP code more generic, move this sidetone clock management
with fixme comments to mach-omap2/mcbsp.c and pass pointer to it via

88408230d2 ARM: OMAP: mcbsp: Make tranceiver configuration control register access generic
McBSP transmit and receive configuration control registers must be set up
for OMAP2430 and later. Replace is_omap tests in generic code with a new
feature flag has_ccr in platform data so that there is no need to change
code for any upcoming OMAP version.

1a6458847d ARM: OMAP: mcbsp: Make wakeup control generic
Currently wakeup control code is compiled only when CONFIG_ARCH_OMAP3 is
set even it should be available for CONFIG_ARCH_OMAP4 only builds also.

Fix this by making wakeup control generic so that it is executed whenever
new feature flag has_wakeup in platform data is set. Currently flag is set
for McBSP config types 3 and 4.

Remove also old comments about idle mode settings and HW bug workarounds
that were not updated during hwmod conversion.

cdc71514a0 ARM: OMAP: mcbsp: Implement generic register access
Register access can be made more generic by calculating register address
offsets runtime from common register definitions and by using reg_size and
reg_step variables that are passed via platform data. Common register
definitions are possible since McBSP registers are ordered similarly between
OMAP versions.

Remove also references to OMAP2+ specific config_type variable from generic
McBSP code since other variables and feature flags are better to carry needed
information from platform code.
