Before:
All these functions either return a negative error indicator,
or store length of sockaddr into "int *socklen" parameter
and return zero on success.
"int *socklen" parameter is awkward. For example, if caller does not
care, it still needs to provide on-stack storage for the value
it does not need.
None of the many FOO_getname() functions of various protocols
ever used old value of *socklen. They always just overwrite it.
This change drops this parameter, and makes all these functions, on success,
return length of sockaddr. It's always >= 0 and can be differentiated
from an error.
Tests in callers are changed from "if (err)" to "if (err < 0)", where needed.
rpc_sockname() lost "int buflen" parameter, since its only use was
to be passed to kernel_getsockname() as &buflen and subsequently
not used in any way.
Userspace API is not changed.

This is the mindless scripted replacement of kernel use of POLL*
variables as described by Al, done by this script:
for V in IN OUT PRI ERR RDNORM RDBAND WRNORM WRBAND HUP RDHUP NVAL MSG; do
L=`git grep -l -w POLL$V | grep -v '^t' | grep -v /um/ | grep -v '^sa' | grep -v '/poll.h$'|grep -v '^D'`
for f in $L; do sed -i "-es/^\([^\"]*\)\(\<POLL$V\>\)/\\1E\\2/" $f; done
done
with de-mangling cleanups yet to come.
NOTE! On almost all architectures, the EPOLL* constants have the same
values as the POLL* constants do. But they keyword here is "almost".
For various bad reasons they aren't the same, and epoll() doesn't
actually work quite correctly in some cases due to this on Sparc et al.
The next patch from Al will sort out the final differences, and we
should be all done.

Here the chunk size for INIT_ACK packet becomes too big, mostly
because of the state cookie (INIT packet has large size with
many address parameters), plus additional server parameters.
Later this chunk causes the panic in skb_put_data():
skb_packet_transmit()
sctp_packet_pack()
skb_put_data(nskb, chunk->skb->data, chunk->skb->len);
'nskb' (head skb) was previously allocated with packet->size
from u16 'chunk->chunk_hdr->length'.
As suggested by Marcelo we should check the chunk's length in
_sctp_make_chunk() before trying to allocate skb for it and
discard a chunk if its size bigger than SCTP_MAX_CHUNK_LEN.

When going through the bind address list in sctp_v6_get_dst() and
the previously found address is better ('matchlen > bmatchlen'),
the code continues to the next iteration without releasing currently
held destination.
Fix it by releasing 'bdst' before continue to the next iteration, and
instead of introducing one more '!IS_ERR(bdst)' check for dst_release(),
move the already existed one right after ip6_dst_lookup_flow(), i.e. we
shouldn't proceed further if we get an error for the route lookup.

Pull poll annotations from Al Viro:
"This introduces a __bitwise type for POLL### bitmap, and propagates
the annotations through the tree. Most of that stuff is as simple as
'make ->poll() instances return __poll_t and do the same to local
variables used to hold the future return value'.
Some of the obvious brainos found in process are fixed (e.g. POLLIN
misspelled as POLL_IN). At that point the amount of sparse warnings is
low and most of them are for genuine bugs - e.g. ->poll() instance
deciding to return -EINVAL instead of a bitmap. I hadn't touched those
in this series - it's large enough as it is.
Another problem it has caught was eventpoll() ABI mess; select.c and
eventpoll.c assumed that corresponding POLL### and EPOLL### were
equal. That's true for some, but not all of them - EPOLL### are
arch-independent, but POLL### are not.
The last commit in this series separates userland POLL### values from
the (now arch-independent) kernel-side ones, converting between them
in the few places where they are copied to/from userland. AFAICS, this
is the least disruptive fix preserving poll(2) ABI and making epoll()
work on all architectures.
As it is, it's simply broken on sparc - try to give it EPOLLWRNORM and
it will trigger only on what would've triggered EPOLLWRBAND on other
architectures. EPOLLWRBAND and EPOLLRDHUP, OTOH, are never triggered
at all on sparc. With this patch they should work consistently on all
architectures"

The check in sctp_sockaddr_af is not robust enough to forbid binding a
v4mapped v6 addr on a v4 socket.
The worse thing is that v4 socket's bind_verify would not convert this

After commit cea0cc80a6 ("sctp: use the right sk after waking up from

peeled off in sctp_wait_for_sndbuf.
However, the asoc's new sk could be already closed elsewhere, as it's in
the sendmsg context of the old sk that can't avoid the new sk's closing.
If the sk's last one refcnt is held by this asoc, later on after putting

After introducing sctp_stream structure, sctp uses stream->outcnt as the
out stream nums instead of c.sinit_num_ostreams.
However when users use sinit in cmsg, it only updates c.sinit_num_ostreams

The SCTP socket event notification subscription information need to be
copied to/from userspace. In support of usercopy hardening, this patch
defines a region in the struct proto slab cache in which userspace copy
operations are allowed. Additionally moves the usercopy fields to be
adjacent for the region to cover both.
example usage trace:
net/sctp/socket.c:
sctp_getsockopt_events(...):
...
copy_to_user(..., &sctp_sk(sk)->subscribe, len)
sctp_setsockopt_events(...):

copy_from_user(&sctp_sk(sk)->subscribe, ..., optlen)
sctp_getsockopt_initmsg(...):
...
copy_to_user(..., &sctp_sk(sk)->initmsg, len)

can now check that each dynamically sized copy operation involving
cache-managed memory falls entirely within the slab's usercopy region.

syzbot reported a hang involving SCTP, on which it kept flooding dmesg
with the message:
[ 246.742374] sctp: sctp_transport_update_pmtu: Reported pmtu 508 too
low, using default minimum of 512
That happened because whenever SCTP hits an ICMP Frag Needed, it tries
to adjust to the new MTU and triggers an immediate retransmission. But
it didn't consider the fact that MTUs smaller than the SCTP minimum MTU
allowed (512) would not cause the PMTU to change, and issued the
retransmission anyway (thus leading to another ICMP Frag Needed, and so
on).
As IPv4 (ip_rt_min_pmtu=556) and IPv6 (IPV6_MIN_MTU=1280) minimum MTU
are higher than that, sctp_transport_update_pmtu() is changed to
re-fetch the PMTU that got set after our request, and with that, detect
if there was an actual change or not.
The fix, thus, skips the immediate retransmission if the received ICMP
resulted in no change, in the hope that SCTP will select another path.
Note: The value being used for the minimum MTU (512,
SCTP_DEFAULT_MINSEGMENT) is not right and instead it should be (576,
SCTP_MIN_PMTU), but such change belongs to another patch.
Changes from v1:

and as suggested by Xin Long.
- changed the way to break the rtx loop by detecting if the icmp

Currently, if PMTU discovery is disabled on a given transport, but the
configured value is higher than the actual PMTU, it is likely that we
will get some icmp Frag Needed. The issue is, if PMTU discovery is
disabled, we won't update the information and will issue a
retransmission immediately, which may very well trigger another ICMP,
and another retransmission, leading to a loop.
The fix is to simply not trigger immediate retransmissions if PMTU
discovery is disabled on the given transport.

out, there's no need to add event table for idata, but just share
chunk_event_table with data's. It would drop data chunk for idata
and drop idata chunk for data by calling validate_data in
sctp_eat_data.
As last patch did, it also replaces sizeof(struct sctp_data_chunk)
with sctp_datachk_len for rx path.
After this patch, the idata can be accepted and delivered to ulp

to assign ssn for data or mid (message id) for idata, called in
sctp_packet_append_data. sctp_chunk_assign_ssn is left as it is,

To avoid hundreds of checks for the different process on I-DATA chunk,
struct sctp_stream_interleave is defined as a group of functions used
to replace the codes in some place where it needs to do different job
according to if the asoc intl_enabled is set.
With these ops, it only needs to initialize asoc->stream.si with
sctp_stream_interleave_0 for normal data if asoc intl_enable is 0,
or sctp_stream_interleave_1 for idata if asoc intl_enable is set in
sctp_stream_init.
After that, the members in asoc->stream.si can be used directly in
some special places without checking asoc intl_enable.
make_datafrag is the first member for sctp_stream_interleave, it's
used to make data or idata frags, called in sctp_datamsg_from_user.
The old function sctp_make_datafrag_empty needs to be adjust some
to fit in this ops.

defines data_chunk_len for sctp_stream_interleave to describe the

netns intl_enable would be set via procfs, but that is not added yet
until all stream interleave codes are completely implemented; asoc

Most callers of rhashtable_walk_start don't care about a resize event
which is indicated by a return value of -EAGAIN. So calls to
rhashtable_walk_start are wrapped wih code to ignore -EAGAIN. Something
like this is common:
ret = rhashtable_walk_start(rhiter);
if (ret && ret != -EAGAIN)
goto out;
Since zero and -EAGAIN are the only possible return values from the
function this check is pointless. The condition never evaluates to true.
This patch changes rhashtable_walk_start to return void. This simplifies
code for the callers that ignore -EAGAIN. For the few cases where the
caller cares about the resize event, particularly where the table can be
walked in mulitple parts for netlink or seq file dump, the function
rhashtable_walk_start_check has been added that returns -EAGAIN on a
resize event.

Because no tsn is assigned to them yet, there's no need to send fwd tsn to

The problem is when parts of the msg have been sent and the other frags

val >= 8 and val <= SCTP_MAX_CHUNK_LEN. But both checks are incorrect.
val >= 8 means frag_point can even be less than SCTP_DEFAULT_MINSEGMENT.
Then in sctp_datamsg_from_user(), when it's value is greater than cookie
echo len and trying to bundle with cookie echo chunk, the first_len will
overflow.
The worse case is when it's value is equal as cookie echo len, first_len
becomes 0, it will go into a dead loop for fragment later on. In Hangbin

allocation in that loop.
Besides, SCTP_MAX_CHUNK_LEN is the max size of the whole chunk, it should
deduct the data header for frag_point or user_frag check.

Working with his reproducer I discovered that those 4 bytes that

With a little code inspection and a shrewd guess I discovered that
sctp_inet6_skb_msgname only initializes the scope_id field for link
local ipv6 addresses to the interface index the link local address
pertains to instead of initializing the scope_id field for all ipv6
addresses.
That is almost reasonable as scope_id's are meaniningful only for link
local addresses. Set the scope_id in all other cases to 0 which is
not a valid interface index to make it clear there is nothing useful
in the scope_id field.
There should be no danger of breaking userspace as the stack leak
guaranteed that previously meaningless random data was being returned.

Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.
By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.
Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.
This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.
How this work was done:
Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
- file had no licensing information it it.
- file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
- file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,
Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.
The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.
The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
- Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
- Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
lines of source
- File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
lines).
All documentation files were explicitly excluded.
The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.
- when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
COPYING file license applied.
For non */uapi/* files that summary was:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|-------
GPL-2.0 11139
and resulted in the first patch in this series.
If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH
Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|-------
GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930
and resulted in the second patch in this series.
- if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
it (per prior point). Results summary:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|------
GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270
GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17
LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15
GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14
((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5
LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4
LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1
and that resulted in the third patch in this series.
- when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
the concluded license(s).
- when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.
- In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).
- When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
- If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
in time.
In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.
Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.
In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.
Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
- a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
license ids and scores
- reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
- reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
SPDX license was correct
This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.
These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.
Update the files which contain no license information with the
'GPL-2.0' SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally
binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate
text.
This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart
and Philippe Ombredanne.
How this work was done:
Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset
of the use cases:
- file had no licensing information it it.
- file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
- file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,
Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to
license had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.
The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied
to a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of
the output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver)
producing SPDX tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne.
Philippe prepared the base worksheet, and did an initial spot review
of a few 1000 files.
The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537
files assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the
scanner results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license
identifier(s) to be applied to the file. She confirmed any
determination that was not immediately clear with lawyers working with
the Linux Foundation.
Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
- Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
- Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained
>5 lines of source
Results of that
was:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|-------
GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930
and resulted in the second patch in this series.
- if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
it (per prior point). Results summary:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|------

LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1
and that resulted in the third patch in this series.
- when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that
became the concluded license(s).
- when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected
a license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.
- In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply
(and which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).
- When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
- If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
in time.
In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases,
confirmation by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights.
The Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in
part, so they are related.
Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot
checks in about 15000 files.
In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect
the correct identifier.
Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial
patch version early this week with:
- a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
license ids and scores
- reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
- reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch
license was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the
applied SPDX license was correct
This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.
These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

Now when migrating sock to another one in sctp_sock_migrate(), it only
resets owner sk for the data in receive queues, not the chunks on out
queues.
It would cause that data chunks length on the sock is not consistent
with sk sk_wmem_alloc. When closing the sock or freeing these chunks,
the old sk would never be freed, and the new sock may crash due to
the overflow sk_wmem_alloc.

Now sctp processes icmp redirect packet in sctp_icmp_redirect where
it calls sctp_transport_dst_check in which tp->dst can be released.
The problem is before calling sctp_transport_dst_check, it doesn't
check sock_owned_by_user, which means tp->dst could be freed while
a process is accessing it with owning the socket.
An use-after-free issue could be triggered by this.
This patch is to fix it by checking sock_owned_by_user before calling
sctp_transport_dst_check in sctp_icmp_redirect, so that it would not
release tp->dst if users still hold sock lock.

Now when peeling off an association to the sock in another netns, all
transports in this assoc are not to be rehashed and keep use the old
key in hashtable.
As a transport uses sk->net as the hash key to insert into hashtable,
it would miss removing these transports from hashtable due to the new
netns when closing the sock and all transports are being freeed, then
later an use-after-free issue could be caused when looking up an asoc
and dereferencing those transports.
This is a very old issue since very beginning, ChunYu found it with
syzkaller fuzz testing with this series:
socket$inet6_sctp()
bind$inet6()
sendto$inet6()
unshare(0x40000000)
getsockopt$inet_sctp6_SCTP_GET_ASSOC_ID_LIST()
getsockopt$inet_sctp6_SCTP_SOCKOPT_PEELOFF()
This patch is to block this call when peeling one assoc off from one
netns to another one, so that the netns of all transport would not
go out-sync with the key in hashtable.
Note that this patch didn't fix it by rehashing transports, as it's
difficult to handle the situation when the tuple is already in use
in the new netns. Besides, no one would like to peel off one assoc
to another netns, considering ipaddrs, ifaces, etc. are usually
different.

This patch introduces RFC Draft ndata section 3.4 Priority Based
Scheduler (SCTP_SS_PRIO).
It works by having a struct sctp_stream_priority for each priority
configured. This struct is then enlisted on a queue ordered per priority
if, and only if, there is a stream with data queued, so that dequeueing
is very straightforward: either finish current datamsg or simply dequeue
from the highest priority queued, which is the next stream pointed, and
that's it.
If there are multiple streams assigned with the same priority and with
data queued, it will do round robin amongst them while respecting
datamsgs boundaries (when not using idata chunks), to be reasonably
fair.
We intentionally don't maintain a list of priorities nor a list of all
streams with the same priority to save memory. The first would mean at
least 2 other pointers per priority (which, for 1000 priorities, that
can mean 16kB) and the second would also mean 2 other pointers but per
stream. As SCTP supports up to 65535 streams on a given asoc, that's
1MB. This impacts when giving a priority to some stream, as we have to
find out if the new priority is already being used and if we can free
the old one, and also when tearing down.
The new fields in struct sctp_stream_out_ext and sctp_stream are added
under a union because that memory is to be shared with other schedulers.

This patch introduces the hooks necessary to do stream scheduling, as
per RFC Draft ndata. It also introduces the first scheduler, which is
what we do today but now factored out: first come first served (FCFS).
With stream scheduling now we have to track which chunk was enqueued on
which stream and be able to select another other than the in front of
the main outqueue. So we introduce a list on sctp_stream_out_ext
structure for this purpose.
We reuse sctp_chunk->transmitted_list space for the list above, as the
chunk cannot belong to the two lists at the same time. By using the
union in there, we can have distinct names for these moments.
sctp_sched_ops are the operations expected to be implemented by each
scheduler. The dequeueing is a bit particular to this implementation but
it is to match how we dequeue packets today. We first dequeue and then
check if it fits the packet and if not, we requeue it at head. Thus why
we don't have a peek operation but have dequeue_done instead, which is
called once the chunk can be safely considered as transmitted.
The check removed from sctp_outq_flush is now performed by
sctp_stream_outq_migrate, which is only called during assoc setup.
(sctp_sendmsg() also checks for it)
The only operation that is foreseen but not yet added here is a way to
signalize that a new packet is starting or that the packet is done, for
round robin scheduler per packet, but is intentionally left to the
patch that actually implements it.
Support for I-DATA chunks, also described in this RFC, with user message
interleaving is straightforward as it just requires the schedulers to
probe for the feature and ignore datamsg boundaries when dequeueing.

With the stream schedulers, sctp_stream_out will become too big to be
allocated by kmalloc and as we need to allocate with BH disabled, we

This patch moves out the stats from sctp_stream_out to
sctp_stream_out_ext, which will be allocated only when the application
tries to sendmsg something on it.
Just the introduction of sctp_stream_out_ext would already fix the issue
described above by splitting the allocation in two. Moving the stats
to it also reduces the pressure on the allocator as we will ask for less
memory atomically when creating the socket and we will use GFP_KERNEL
later.
Then, for stream schedulers, we will just use sctp_stream_out_ext.

As SCTP supports up to 65535 streams, that can lead to very large
allocations in sctp_stream_init(). As Xin Long noticed, systems with
small amounts of memory are more prone to not have enough memory and
dump warnings on dmesg initiated by user actions. Thus, silence them.
Also, if the reallocation of stream->out is not necessary, skip it and
keep the memory we already have.

The sctp_for_each_transport() function takes an pointer to int. The
cb->args[] array holds longs so it's only using the high 32 bits. It
works on little endian system but will break on big endian 64 bit
machines.

sctp_diag would not actually dump out sk/asoc if inet_sctp_diag_fill
returns err, in which case it shouldn't mark sk dumped by setting
cb->args[3] as 1 in sctp_sock_dump().
Otherwise, it could cause some asocs to have no parent's sk dumped
in 'ss --sctp'.
So this patch is to not set cb->args[3] when inet_sctp_diag_fill()
returns err in sctp_sock_dump().

Commit 86fdb3448c ("sctp: ensure ep is not destroyed before doing the
dump") tried to fix an use-after-free issue by checking !sctp_sk(sk)->ep
with holding sock and sock lock.
But Paolo noticed that endpoint could be destroyed in sctp_rcv without
sock lock protection. It means the use-after-free issue still could be
triggered when sctp_rcv put and destroy ep after sctp_sock_dump checks
!ep, although it's pretty hard to reproduce.
I could reproduce it by mdelay in sctp_rcv while msleep in sctp_close
and sctp_sock_dump long time.
This patch is to add another param cb_done to sctp_for_each_transport
and dump ep->assocs with holding tsp after jumping out of transport's
traversal in it to avoid this issue.
It can also improve sctp diag dump to make it run faster, as no need
to save sk into cb->args[5] and keep calling sctp_for_each_transport
any more.
This patch is also to use int * instead of int for the pos argument
in sctp_for_each_transport, which could make postion increment only
in sctp_for_each_transport and no need to keep changing cb->args[2]
in sctp_sock_filter and sctp_sock_dump any more.

Commit fb586f2530 ("sctp: delay calls to sk_data_ready() as much as
possible") minimized the number of wake ups that are triggered in case
the association receives a packet with multiple data chunks on it and/or
when io_events are enabled and then commit 0970f5b366 ("sctp: signal
sk_data_ready earlier on data chunks reception") moved the wake up to as
soon as possible. It thus relies on the state machine running later to
clean the flag that the event was already generated.
The issue is that there are 2 call paths that calls
sctp_ulpq_tail_event() outside of the state machine, causing the flag to
linger and possibly omitting a needed wake up in the sequence.
One of the call paths is when enabling SCTP_SENDER_DRY_EVENTS via
setsockopt(SCTP_EVENTS), as noticed by Harald Welte. The other is when
partial reliability triggers removal of chunks from the send queue when
the application calls sendmsg().
This commit fixes it by not setting the flag in case the socket is not
owned by the user, as it won't be cleaned later. This works for
user-initiated calls and also for rx path processing.

There are some bad indents of functions' defination in sm_make_chunk.c.
They have been there since beginning, it was probably caused by that
the typedef sctp_chunk_t was replaced with struct sctp_chunk.

Marcelo noticed an array overflow caused by commit c28445c3cb
("sctp: add reconf_enable in asoc ep and netns"), in which sctp
would add SCTP_CID_RECONF into extensions when reconf_enable is
set in sctp_make_init and sctp_make_init_ack.
Then now when all ext chunks are set, 4 ext chunk ids can be put
into extensions array while extensions array size is 3. It would
cause a kernel panic because of this overflow.
This patch is to fix it by defining extensions array size is 4 in
both sctp_make_init and sctp_make_init_ack.

Based on a request raised on the sctp devel list, there is a need to
augment the sctp_peeloff operation while specifying the O_CLOEXEC and
O_NONBLOCK flags (simmilar to the socket syscall). Since modifying the
SCTP_SOCKOPT_PEELOFF socket option would break user space ABI for existing
programs, this patch creates a new socket option
SCTP_SOCKOPT_PEELOFF_FLAGS, which accepts a third flags parameter to

RFC 4960 Errata 3.27 identifies that ssthresh should be adjusted to cwnd
because otherwise it could cause the transport to lock into congestion
avoidance phase specially if ssthresh was previously reduced by some
packet drop, leading to poor performance.
The Errata says to adjust ssthresh to cwnd only once, though the same
goal is achieved by updating it every time we update cwnd too. The
caveat is that we could take longer to get back up to speed but that
should be compensated by the fact that we don't adjust on RTO basis (as
RFC says) but based on Heartbeats, which are usually way longer.

RFC4960 Errata 3.26 identified that at the same time RFC4960 states that
cwnd should never grow more than 1*MTU per RTT, Section 7.2.2 was
underspecified and as described could allow increasing cwnd more than
that.
This patch updates it so partial_bytes_acked is maxed to cwnd if
flight_size doesn't reach cwnd, protecting it from such case.

As per RFC4960 Errata 3.22, this condition is not needed anymore as it
could cause the partial_bytes_acked to not consider the TSNs acked in
the Gap Ack Blocks although they were received by the peer successfully.
This patch thus drops the check for new Cumulative TSN Ack Point,
leaving just the flight_size < cwnd one.

RFC4960 Errata 3.12 says RFC4960 is unclear about the order of
adjustments applied to partial_bytes_acked and cwnd in the congestion
avoidance phase, and that the actual order should be:
partial_bytes_acked is reset to (partial_bytes_acked - cwnd). Next, cwnd
is increased by MTU.
We were first increasing cwnd, and then subtracting the new value pba,
which leads to a different result as pba is smaller than what it should
and could cause cwnd to not grow as much.

local_cork is used to decide if it should uncork asoc outq after processing
some cmds, and it is set when replying or sending msgs. local_cork should
always have the same value with current asoc q->cork in some way.
The thing is when changing to a new asoc by cmd SET_ASOC, local_cork may
not be consistent with the current asoc any more. The cmd seqs can be:
SCTP_CMD_UPDATE_ASSOC (asoc)
SCTP_CMD_REPLY (asoc)
SCTP_CMD_SET_ASOC (new_asoc)
SCTP_CMD_DELETE_TCB (new_asoc)
SCTP_CMD_SET_ASOC (asoc)
SCTP_CMD_REPLY (asoc)
The 1st REPLY makes OLD asoc q->cork and local_cork both are 1, and the cmd
DELETE_TCB clears NEW asoc q->cork and local_cork. After asoc goes back to
OLD asoc, q->cork is still 1 while local_cork is 0. The 2nd REPLY will not
set local_cork because q->cork is already set and it can't be uncorked and
sent out because of this.
To keep local_cork consistent with the current asoc q->cork, this patch is
to uncork the old asoc if local_cork is set before changing to the new one.
Note that the above cmd seqs will be used in the next patch when updating
asoc and handling errors in it.

In sctp_for_each_transport, pos is used to save how many objs it has
dumped. Now it gets the last obj by sctp_transport_get_idx, then gets
the next obj by sctp_transport_get_next.
The issue is that in the meanwhile if some objs in transport hashtable
are removed and the objs nums are less than pos, sctp_transport_get_idx
would return NULL and hti.walker.tbl is NULL as well. At this moment
it should stop hti, instead of continue getting the next obj. Or it
would cause a NULL pointer dereference in sctp_transport_get_next.
This patch is to pass pos + 1 into sctp_transport_get_idx to get the
next obj directly, even if pos > objs nums, it would return NULL and
stop hti.

sometimes ICMP replies to INIT chunks are ignored by the client, even if
the encapsulated SCTP headers match an open socket. This happens when the
ICMP packet is carried by a paged skb: use skb_header_pointer() to read
packet contents beyond the SCTP header, so that chunk header and initiate
tag are validated correctly.
v2:
- don't use skb_header_pointer() to read the transport header, since
icmp_socket_deliver() already puts these 8 bytes in the linear area.

After sctp changed to use transport hashtable, a transport would be
added into global hashtable when adding the peer to an asoc, then
the asoc can be got by searching the transport in the hashtbale.
The problem is when processing dupcookie in sctp_sf_do_5_2_4_dupcook,
a new asoc would be created. A peer with the same addr and port as
the one in the old asoc might be added into the new asoc, but fail
to be added into the hashtable, as they also belong to the same sk.
It causes that sctp's dupcookie processing can not really work.
Since the new asoc will be freed after copying it's information to
the old asoc, it's more like a temp asoc. So this patch is to fix
it by setting it as a temp asoc to avoid adding it's any transport
into the hashtable and also avoid allocing assoc_id.
An extra thing it has to do is to also alloc stream info for any
temp asoc, as sctp dupcookie process needs it to update old asoc.
But I don't think it would hurt something, as a temp asoc would
always be freed after finishing processing cookie echo packet.

symbols (e.g. ipv6_dst_lookup), introduce a stub struct skb_checksum_ops
to allow computation of crc32c checksum in net core after sctp.ko (and thus
libcrc32c) has been loaded.

Commit 0ca50d12fe ("sctp: fix src address selection if using secondary
addresses") has fixed a src address selection issue when using secondary
addresses for ipv4.
Now sctp ipv6 also has the similar issue. When using a secondary address,
sctp_v6_get_dst tries to choose the saddr which has the most same bits
with the daddr by sctp_v6_addr_match_len. It may make some cases not work
as expected.
hostA:
[1] fd21:356b:459a:cf10::11 (eth1)
[2] fd21:356b:459a:cf20::11 (eth2)
hostB:
[a] fd21:356b:459a:cf30::2 (eth1)
[b] fd21:356b:459a:cf40::2 (eth2)
route from hostA to hostB:
fd21:356b:459a:cf30::/64 dev eth1 metric 1024 mtu 1500
The expected path should be:
fd21:356b:459a:cf10::11 <-> fd21:356b:459a:cf30::2
But addr[2] matches addr[a] more bits than addr[1] does, according to
sctp_v6_addr_match_len. It causes the path to be:
fd21:356b:459a:cf20::11 <-> fd21:356b:459a:cf30::2
This patch is to fix it with the same way as Marcelo's fix for sctp ipv4.
As no ip_dev_find for ipv6, this patch is to use ipv6_chk_addr to check
if the saddr is in a dev instead.
Note that for backwards compatibility, it will still do the addr_match_len
check here when no optimal is found.

This patch is to fix the replay attack issue for strreset asoc requests.
When a duplicated strreset asoc request is received, reply it with bad
seqno if it's seqno < asoc->strreset_inseq - 2, and reply it with the
result saved in asoc if it's seqno >= asoc->strreset_inseq - 2.
But note that if the result saved in asoc is performed, the sender's next
tsn and receiver's next tsn for the response chunk should be set. It's
safe to get them from asoc. Because if it's changed, which means the peer
has received the response already, the new response with wrong tsn won't
be accepted by peer.

This patch is to fix the replay attack issue for strreset and addstrm in
requests.
When a duplicated strreset in or addstrm in request is received, reply it
with bad seqno if it's seqno < asoc->strreset_inseq - 2, and reply it with
the result saved in asoc if it's seqno >= asoc->strreset_inseq - 2.
For strreset in or addstrm in request, if the receiver side processes it
successfully, a strreset out or addstrm out request(as a response for that
request) will be sent back to peer. reconf_time will retransmit the out
request even if it's lost.
So when receiving a duplicated strreset in or addstrm in request and it's
result was performed, it shouldn't reply this request, but drop it instead.

Now sctp stream reconf will process a request again even if it's seqno is
less than asoc->strreset_inseq.
If one request has been done successfully and some data chunks have been
accepted and then a duplicated strreset out request comes, the streamin's
ssn will be cleared. It will cause that stream will never receive chunks
any more because of unsynchronized ssn. It allows a replay attack.
A similar issue also exists when processing addstrm out requests. It will
cause more extra streams being added.
This patch is to fix it by saving the last 2 results into asoc. When a
duplicated strreset out or addstrm out request is received, reply it with
bad seqno if it's seqno < asoc->strreset_inseq - 2, and reply it with the
result saved in asoc if it's seqno >= asoc->strreset_inseq - 2.
Note that it saves last 2 results instead of only last 1 result, because
two requests can be sent together in one chunk.
And note that when receiving a duplicated request, the receiver side will
still reply it even if the peer has received the response. It's safe, As
the response will be dropped by the peer.

Now when processing strreset out responses, it gets outreq->list_of_streams
only when result is performed. But if result is not performed, str_p will
be NULL. It will cause panic in sctp_ulpevent_make_stream_reset_event if
nums is not 0.
This patch is to fix it by getting outreq->list_of_streams earlier, and
also to improve some codes for the strreset inreq process.

that it will listen on the sock with right state.

This patch is to move sctp_transport_dst_check into sctp_packet_config
from sctp_packet_transmit and add pathmtu check in sctp_packet_config.
With this fix, sctp can update dst or pathmtu before appending chunks,
which can void dropping packets in sctp_packet_transmit when dst is
obsolete or dst's mtu is changed.
This patch is also to improve some other codes in sctp_packet_config.
It updates packet max_size with gso_max_size, checks for dst and
pathmtu, and appends ecne chunk only when packet is empty and asoc
is not NULL.
It makes sctp flush work better, as we only need to set up them once
for one flush schedule. It's also safe, since asoc is NULL only when
the packet is created by sctp_ootb_pkt_new in which it just gets the
new dst, no need to do more things for it other than set packet with
transport's pathmtu.

David Laight noticed the support for MSG_MORE with datamsg->force_delay
didn't really work as we expected, as the first msg with MSG_MORE set
would always block the following chunks' dequeuing.
This Patch is to rewrite it by saving the MSG_MORE flag into assoc as
David Laight suggested.
asoc->force_delay is used to save MSG_MORE flag before a msg is sent.
All chunks in queue would not be sent out if asoc->force_delay is set
by the msg with MSG_MORE flag, until a new msg without MSG_MORE flag
clears asoc->force_delay.
Note that this change would not affect the flush is generated by other
triggers, like asoc->state != ESTABLISHED, queue size > pmtu etc.
