The fix was to reorder napi_enable, napi_disable, request_irq and
free_irq calls, move register_netdev after dma_coerce_mask_and_coherent.

this patch does the following:
1 . remove unnecessary if, else condition
2 . reduce one variable
3 . change the return type of 2 functions to void as there return values
turn out to be 0 always after above changes

Add RGMII TX/RX delay configuration support. RGMII standard requires 2ns
delay to help the RGMII bridge receiver to sample data correctly. If the
default value does not provide proper centering of the data sample, the
TX/RX delay parameters can be used to adjust accordingly.

04d53b20fe net: fix phy refcounting in a bunch of drivers
of_phy_find_device() increments the phy struct device refcount, which
we need to properly balance. Add code to network drivers using this
function to ensure that the struct device refcount is correctly
balanced.

For xgene, looking back in the history, we should be able to use
of_phy_connect() with a zero flags argument for the DT case as this is
how the driver used to operate prior to de7b5b3d79 ("net: eth: xgene:
change APM X-Gene SoC platform ethernet to support ACPI").

This leaves the Cavium Thunder BGX unfixed; fixing this driver is a
complicated task, one which the maintainers need to be involved with.

b04096ff33 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Four minor merge conflicts:

1) qca_spi.c renamed the local variable used for the SPI device
from spi_device to spi, meanwhile the spi_set_drvdata() call
got moved further up in the probe function.

2) Two changes were both adding new members to codel params
structure, and thus we had overlapping changes to the
   initializer function.

3) 'net' was making a fix to sk_release_kernel() which is
   completely removed in 'net-next'.

4) In net_namespace.c, the rtnl_net_fill() call for GET operations
had the command value fixed, meanwhile 'net-next' adjusted the
   argument signature a bit.

This also matches example merge resolutions posted by Stephen
Rothwell over the past two days.

The problem here is that the enet hw clocks are not getting
initialized because of a test to avoid the initialization if
UEFI is used to boot. This is an incorrect test. When booting
with UEFI and devicetree, the kernel must still initialize
the enet hw clocks. If booting with ACPI, the clock hw is
not exposed to the kernel and it is that case where we want
to avoid initializing clocks.

6e03f896b5 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Conflicts:
	drivers/net/vxlan.c
	drivers/vhost/net.c
	include/linux/if_vlan.h
	net/core/dev.c

The net/core/dev.c conflict was the overlap of one commit marking an
existing function static whilst another was adding a new function.

In the include/linux/if_vlan.h case, the type used for a local
variable was changed in 'net', whereas the function got rewritten
to fix a stacked vlan bug in 'net-next'.

In drivers/vhost/net.c, Al Viro's iov_iter conversions in 'net-next'
overlapped with an endainness fix for VHOST 1.0 in 'net'.

In drivers/net/vxlan.c, vxlan_find_vni() added a 'flags' parameter
in 'net-next' whereas in 'net' there was a bug fix to pass in the
correct network namespace pointer in calls to this function.

Software writes poison data into the descriptor bytes[15:8] and upon
receiving the interrupt, if those bytes are overwritten by the hardware with
the valid data, software also reads bytes[7:0] and executes receive/tx
completion logic.

If the CPU executes the above two reads in out of order fashion, then the
bytes[7:0] will have older data and causing the kernel panic. We have to
force the order of the reads and thus this patch introduces read memory
barrier between these reads.

c10e4cafa2 net: xgene: fix possible NULL dereference in xgene_enet_free_desc_rings()
A NULL pointer dereference is possible for the argument ring->buf_pool
which is passed to xgene_enet_free_desc_ring(), as ring could be NULL.

And now since NULL pointers are being checked for before the calls to
xgene_enet_free_desc_ring(), might as well take advantage of them and
not call the function if the argument would be NULL.

xgene_enet_get_ring_size() returns a negative value in case of an error,
