be6d467b99 net/smc: remove unused fields from smc structures
The daddr field holds the destination IPv4 address. The field was set but
never used and can be removed. The addr field was a left-over from an
earlier version of non-blocking connects and can be removed.
The result of the call to kernel_getpeername is not used, the call can be
removed. Non-blocking connects are working, so remove restriction comment.

7b0db85737 ipmr, ip6mr: Unite dumproute flows
The various MFC entries are being held in the same kind of mr_tables
for both ipmr and ip6mr, and their traversal logic is identical.
Also, with the exception of the addresses [and other small tidbits]
the major bulk of the nla setting is identical.

Unite as much of the dumping as possible between the two.
Notice this requires creating an mr_table iterator for each, as the
for-each preprocessor macro can't be used by the common logic.

889cd83cbe ip6mr: Remove MFC_NOTIFY and refactor flags
MFC_NOTIFY exists in ip6mr, probably as some legacy code
[was already removed for ipmr in commit
06bd6c0370 ("net: ipmr: remove unused MFC_NOTIFY flag and make the flags enum").
Remove it from ip6mr as well, and move the enum into a common file;
Notice MFC_OFFLOAD is currently only used by ipmr.

845c9a7ae7 ipmr, ip6mr: Unite logic for searching in MFC cache
ipmr and ip6mr utilize the exact same methods for searching the
hashed resolved connections, difference being only in the construction
of the hash comparison key.

In order to unite the flow, introduce an mr_table operation set that
would contain the protocol specific information required for common
flows, in this case - the hash parameters and a comparison key
representing a (*,*) route.

494fff5637 ipmr, ip6mr: Make mfc_cache a common structure
mfc_cache and mfc6_cache are almost identical - the main difference is
in the origin/group addresses and comparison-key. Make a common
structure encapsulating most of the multicast routing logic  - mr_mfc
and convert both ipmr and ip6mr into using it.

For easy conversion [casting, in this case] mr_mfc has to be the first
field inside every multicast routing abstraction utilizing it.

b70432f731 mroute*: Make mr_table a common struct
Following previous changes to ip6mr, mr_table and mr6_table are
basically the same [up to mr6_table having additional '6' suffixes to
its variable names].
Move the common structure definition into a common header; This
requires renaming all references in ip6mr to variables that had the
distinct suffix.

Since commit 8fb472c09b ("ipmr: improve hash scalability") ipmr has
been using rhashtable as a basis for its mfc routes, but ip6mr is
currently still using the old private MFC hash implementation.

6853f21f76 ipmr,ipmr6: Define a uniform vif_device
The two implementations have almost identical structures - vif_device and
mif_device. As a step toward uniforming the mr_tables, eliminate the
mif_device and relocate the vif_device definition into a new common
header file.

Also, introduce a common initializing function for setting most of the
vif_device fields in a new common source file. This requires modifying
the ipv{4,6] Kconfig and ipv4 makefile as we're introducing a new common
config option - CONFIG_IP_MROUTE_COMMON.

8a949fff03 ipvs: remove IPS_NAT_MASK check to fix passive FTP
The IPS_NAT_MASK check in 4.12 replaced previous check for nfct_nat()
which was needed to fix a crash in 2.6.36-rc, see
commit 7bcbf81a22 ("ipvs: avoid oops for passive FTP").
But as IPVS does not set the IPS_SRC_NAT and IPS_DST_NAT bits,
checking for IPS_NAT_MASK prevents PASV response to be properly
mangled and blocks the transfer. Remove the check as it is not
needed after 3.12 commit 41d73ec053 ("netfilter: nf_conntrack:
make sequence number adjustments usuable without NAT") which
changes nfct_nat() with nfct_seqadj() and especially after 3.13
commit b25adce160 ("ipvs: correct usage/allocation of seqadj
ext in ipvs").

77d270967c mlxsw: spectrum: Fix handling of resource_size_param
Current code uses global variables, adjusts them and passes pointer down
to devlink. With every other mlxsw_core instance, the previously passed
pointer values are rewritten. Fix this by de-globalize the variables and
also memcpy size_params during devlink resource registration.
Also, introduce a convenient size_param_init helper.

cbba07a726 net/smc: use a constant for control message length
The sizeof(struct smc_cdc_msg) evaluates to 48 bytes instead of the
required 44 bytes. We need to use the constant value of

Offload sch_prio graft command for capable drivers.
Warn in case of a failure, unless the graft was done as part of a destroy
operation (the new qdisc is a noop) or if all the qdiscs (the parent, the
old child, and the new one) are not offloaded.

98ceb7b6d6 mlxsw: spectrum: qdiscs: prio: Delete child qdiscs when removing bands
When the number the bands of sch_prio is decreased, child qdiscs on the
deleted bands would get deleted as well.
This change and deletions are being done under sch_tree_lock of the
sch_prio qdisc. Part of the destruction of qdisc is unoffloading it, if
it is offloaded. Un-offloading can't be done inside this lock.
Move the offload command to be done before reducing the number of bands,
so unoffloading of the qdiscs that are about to be deleted could be done
outside of the lock.

fd5ac14a1a net: sch: Don't warn on missmatching qlen and backlog for offloaded qdiscs
Offloaded qdiscs are allowed to expose only parts of their statistics.
It means that if backlog is being exposed and qlen is not, it might trigger
a warning in qdisc_tree_reduce_backlog.
Do not warn in case the qdisc that was removed was an offloaded one.

The link to the pdf containing the algorithm description is now a
dead link; it seems http://www.ifp.illinois.edu/~srikant/ has been
moved to https://sites.google.com/a/illinois.edu/srikant/ and none of
the original papers can be found there...

I have replaced it with the only working copy I was able to find.

n.b. there is also a copy available at:

http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.296.6350&rep=rep1&type=pdf

However, this seems to only be a *cached* version, so I am unsure
exactly how reliable that link can be expected to remain over time
and have decided against using that one.

a27fd7a8ed tcp: purge write queue upon RST
When the connection is reset, there is no point in
keeping the packets on the write queue until the connection
is closed.

RFC 793 (page 70) and RFC 793-bis (page 64) both suggest
purging the write queue upon RST:

Moreover, this is essential for a correct MSG_ZEROCOPY
implementation, because userspace cannot call close(fd)
before receiving zerocopy signals even when the connection
is reset.

fc68e171d3 tcp: revert F-RTO extension to detect more spurious timeouts
This reverts commit 89fe18e44f.

While the patch could detect more spurious timeouts, it could cause
poor TCP performance on broken middle-boxes that modifies TCP packets
(e.g. receive window, SACK options). Since the performance gain is
much smaller compared to the potential loss. The best solution is
to fully revert the change.

d4131f0977 tcp: revert F-RTO middle-box workaround
This reverts commit cc663f4d4c. While fixing
some broken middle-boxes that modifies receive window fields, it does not
address middle-boxes that strip off SACK options. The best solution is
to fully revert this patch and the root F-RTO enhancement.

b0066da52e ip_tunnel: Rename & publish init_tunnel_flow
Initializing struct flowi4 is useful for drivers that need to emulate
routing decisions made by a tunnel interface. Publish the
function (appropriately renamed) so that the drivers in question don't
need to cut'n'paste it around.

Determining whether a device is a GRE device is easily done by
inspecting struct net_device.type. However, for the tap variants, the
type is just ARPHRD_ETHER.

Therefore introduce two predicate functions that use netdev_ops to tell
the tap devices.

c113187d38 tls: Use correct sk->sk_prot for IPV6
The tls ulp overrides sk->prot with a new tls specific proto structs.
The tls specific structs were previously based on the ipv4 specific
tcp_prot sturct.
As a result, attaching the tls ulp to an ipv6 tcp socket replaced
some ipv6 callback with the ipv4 equivalents.

This patch adds ipv6 tls proto structs and uses them when
attached to ipv6 sockets.

correctly") fixed IFLA_MTU ignored on NEWLINK for ip6_gre. The same
mtu fix is also needed for sit.

Note that dev->hard_header_len setting for sit works fine, no need to
fix it. sit is actually ipv4 tunnel, it can't call ip6_tnl_change_mtu
to set mtu.

ffc2b6ee41 ip_gre: fix IFLA_MTU ignored on NEWLINK
It's safe to remove the setting of dev's needed_headroom and mtu in
__gre_tunnel_init, as discussed in [1], ip_tunnel_newlink can do it
properly.

Now Eric noticed that it could cover the mtu value set in do_setlink
when creating a ip_gre dev. It makes IFLA_MTU param not take effect.

So this patch is to remove them to make IFLA_MTU work, as in other
ipv4 tunnels.

401910db4c rds: deliver zerocopy completion notification with data
This commit is an optimization over commit 01883eda72
("rds: support for zcopy completion notification") for PF_RDS sockets.

RDS applications are predominantly request-response transactions, so
it is more efficient to reduce the number of system calls and have
zerocopy completion notification delivered as ancillary data on the
POLLIN channel.

Cookies are passed up as ancillary data (at level SOL_RDS) in a
struct rds_zcopy_cookies when the returned value of recvmsg() is
greater than, or equal to, 0. A max of RDS_MAX_ZCOOKIES may be passed
with each message.

This commit removes support for zerocopy completion notification on
MSG_ERRQUEUE for PF_RDS sockets.

1b22bcad7e tipc: correct initial value for group congestion flag
In commit 60c2530696 ("tipc: fix race between poll() and
setsockopt()") we introduced a pointer from struct tipc_group to the
'group_is_connected' flag in struct tipc_sock, so that this field can
be checked without dereferencing the group pointer of the latter struct.

The initial value for this flag is correctly set to 'false' when a
group is created, but we miss the case when no group is created at
all, in which case the initial value should be 'true'. This has the
effect that SOCK_RDM/DGRAM sockets sending datagrams never receive
POLLOUT if they request so.

This commit corrects this bug.

c7272c2f12 net: ipv4: don't allow setting net.ipv4.route.min_pmtu below 68
According to RFC 1191 sections 3 and 4, ICMP frag-needed messages
indicating an MTU below 68 should be rejected:

    A host MUST never reduce its estimate of the Path MTU below 68
    octets.

and (talking about ICMP frag-needed's Next-Hop MTU field):

    This field will never contain a value less than 68, since every
    router "must be able to forward a datagram of 68 octets without
    fragmentation".

Furthermore, by letting net.ipv4.route.min_pmtu be set to negative
values, we can end up with a very large PMTU when (-1) is cast into u32.

Let's also make ip_rt_min_pmtu a u32, since it's only ever compared to
unsigned ints.

As there is no support for updating an existing ADDBA session with
a peer, we decline the request (while keeping the session active).
However, in case that the timeout did not change, there is no need
to decline the request, so modify the code to reply with status success
in such a case (this is useful for interoperability with APs that send an
ADDBA request update without changing the timeout value).

Instead of adding missing "depends on CFG80211", it's
easier to use a 'if' block around all options related
to CFG80211, so do that.

0e5a82efda bridge: Fix VLAN reference count problem
When a VLAN is added on a port, a reference is taken on the
corresponding master VLAN entry. If it does not already exist, then it
is created and a reference taken.

However, in the second case a reference is not really taken when
CONFIG_REFCOUNT_FULL is enabled as refcount_inc() is replaced by
refcount_inc_not_zero().

Fix this by using refcount_set() on a newly created master VLAN entry.

28f5bfb819 l2tp: fix tunnel lookup use-after-free race
l2tp_tunnel_get walks the tunnel list to find a matching tunnel
instance and if a match is found, its refcount is increased before
returning the tunnel pointer. But when tunnel objects are destroyed,
they are on the tunnel list after their refcount hits zero. Fix this
by moving the code that removes the tunnel from the tunnel list from
the tunnel socket destructor into in the l2tp_tunnel_delete path,
before the tunnel refcount is decremented.

d02ba2a611 l2tp: fix race in pppol2tp_release with session object destroy
pppol2tp_release uses call_rcu to put the final ref on its socket. But
the session object doesn't hold a ref on the session socket so may be
freed while the pppol2tp_put_sk RCU callback is scheduled. Fix this by
having the session hold a ref on its socket until the session is
destroyed. It is this ref that is dropped via call_rcu.

Sessions are also deleted via l2tp_tunnel_closeall. This must now also put
the final ref via call_rcu. So move the call_rcu call site into
pppol2tp_session_close so that this happens in both destroy paths. A
common destroy path should really be implemented, perhaps with
l2tp_tunnel_closeall calling l2tp_session_delete like pppol2tp_release
does, but this will be looked at later.

d00fa9adc5 l2tp: fix races with tunnel socket close
The tunnel socket tunnel->sock (struct sock) is accessed when
preparing a new ppp session on a tunnel at pppol2tp_session_init. If
the socket is closed by a thread while another is creating a new
session, the threads race. In pppol2tp_connect, the tunnel object may
be created if the pppol2tp socket is associated with the special
session_id 0 and the tunnel socket is looked up using the provided
fd. When handling this, pppol2tp_connect cannot sock_hold the tunnel
socket to prevent it being destroyed during pppol2tp_connect since
this may itself may race with the socket being destroyed. Doing
sockfd_lookup in pppol2tp_connect isn't sufficient to prevent
tunnel->sock going away either because a given tunnel socket fd may be
reused between calls to pppol2tp_connect. Instead, have
l2tp_tunnel_create sock_hold the tunnel socket before it does
sockfd_put. This ensures that the tunnel's socket is always extant
while the tunnel object exists. Hold a ref on the socket until the
tunnel is destroyed and ensure that all tunnel destroy paths go
through a common function (l2tp_tunnel_delete) since this will do the
final sock_put to release the tunnel socket.

Since the tunnel's socket is now guaranteed to exist if the tunnel
exists, we no longer need to use sockfd_lookup via l2tp_sock_to_tunnel
to derive the tunnel from the socket since this is always
sk_user_data.

Also, sessions no longer sock_hold the tunnel socket since sessions
already hold a tunnel ref and the tunnel sock will not be freed until
the tunnel is freed. Removing these sock_holds in
l2tp_session_register avoids a possible sock leak in the
pppol2tp_connect error path if l2tp_session_register succeeds but
attaching a ppp channel fails. The pppol2tp_connect error path could
have been fixed instead and have the sock ref dropped when the session
is freed, but doing a sock_put of the tunnel socket when the session
is freed would require a new session_free callback. It is simpler to
just remove the sock_hold of the tunnel socket in
l2tp_session_register, now that the tunnel socket lifetime is
guaranteed.

Finally, some init code in l2tp_tunnel_create is reordered to ensure
that the new tunnel object's refcount is set and the tunnel socket ref
is taken before the tunnel socket destructor callbacks are set.

f22e08932c batman-adv: Fix internal interface indices types
batman-adv uses internal indices for each enabled and active interface.
It is currently used by the B.A.T.M.A.N. IV algorithm to identifify the
correct position in the ogm_cnt bitmaps.

The type for the number of enabled interfaces (which defines the next
interface index) was set to char. This type can be (depending on the
architecture) either signed (limiting batman-adv to 127 active slave
interfaces) or unsigned (limiting batman-adv to 255 active slave
interfaces).

This limit was not correctly checked when an interface was enabled and thus
an overflow happened. This was only catched on systems with the signed char
type when the B.A.T.M.A.N. IV code tried to resize its counter arrays with
a negative size.

The if_num interface index was only a s16 and therefore significantly

from the central size checks.

Therefore it must check that the size of the match structure

A more sophisticated implementation could try to combine fragment checksums
when all fragments have CHECKSUM_COMPLETE and are split at even offsets.
For now, we just set ip_summed to CHECKSUM_NONE to avoid "hw csum failure"
warnings in the kernel log when fragmented frames are received. In
consequence, skb_pull_rcsum() can be replaced with skb_pull().

Note that in usual setups, packets don't reach batman-adv with
CHECKSUM_COMPLETE (I assume NICs bail out of checksumming when they see
batadv's ethtype?), which is why the log messages do not occur on every
system using batman-adv. I could reproduce this issue by stacking
batman-adv on top of a VXLAN interface.

pfifo_fast got percpu stats lately, uncovering a bug I introduced last
year in linux-4.10.

I missed the fact that we have to clear our temporary storage
before calling __gnet_stats_copy_basic() in the case of percpu stats.

Without this fix, rate estimators (tc qd replace dev xxx root est 1sec
4sec pfifo_fast) are utterly broken.

ca79bec237 ipv6 sit: work around bogus gcc-8 -Wrestrict warning
gcc-8 has a new warning that detects overlapping input and output arguments
in memcpy(). It triggers for sit_init_net() calling ipip6_tunnel_clone_6rd(),
which is actually correct:

net/ipv6/sit.c:192:3: error: 'memcpy' source argument is the same as destination [-Werror=restrict]

The problem here is that the logic detecting the memcpy() arguments finds them
to be the same, but the conditional that tests for the input and output of
ipip6_tunnel_clone_6rd() to be identical is not a compile-time constant.

We know that netdev_priv(t->dev) is the same as t for a tunnel device,
and comparing "dev" directly here lets the compiler figure out as well
that 'dev == sitn->fb_tunnel_dev' when called from sit_init_net(), so
it no longer warns.

This code is old, so Cc stable to make sure that we don't get the warning
for older kernels built with new gcc.

Since we now have the convenient helper to do so, actually adjust the
TSQ pacing shift for packets going out over a WiFi interface. This
significantly improves throughput for locally-originated TCP
connections. The default pacing shift of 10 corresponds to ~1ms of
queued packet data. Adjusting this to a shift of 8 (i.e. ~4ms) improves
1-hop throughput for ath9k by a factor of 3, whereas increasing it more
has diminishing returns.

Achieved throughput for different values of sk_pacing_shift (average of
5 iterations of 10-sec netperf runs to a host on the other side of the
WiFi hop):

sk_pacing_shift 10:  43.21 Mbps (pre-patch)
sk_pacing_shift  9:  78.17 Mbps
sk_pacing_shift  8: 123.94 Mbps
sk_pacing_shift  7: 128.31 Mbps

Latency for competing flows increases from ~3 ms to ~10 ms with this
change. This is about the same magnitude of queueing latency induced by
flows that are not originated on the WiFi device itself (and so are not
limited by TSQ).

94ba92713f mac80211: Call mgd_prep_tx before transmitting deauthentication
In multi channel scenarios, when disassociating from the AP before a
beacon was heard from the AP, it is not guaranteed that the virtual
interface is granted air time for the transmission of the
deauthentication frame. This in turn can lead to various issues as
the AP might never get the deauthentication frame.

To mitigate such possible issues, add a HW flag indicating that the
driver requires mac80211 to call the mgd_prep_tx() driver callback
to make sure that the virtual interface is granted immediate airtime
to be able to transmit the frame, in case that no beacon was heard
from the AP.

350c9f484b tcp_bbr: better deal with suboptimal GSO
BBR uses tcp_tso_autosize() in an attempt to probe what would be the
burst sizes and to adjust cwnd in bbr_target_cwnd() with following
gold formula :

/* Allow enough full-sized skbs in flight to utilize end systems. */
cwnd += 3 * bbr->tso_segs_goal;

But GSO can be lacking or be constrained to very small
units (ip link set dev ... gso_max_segs 2)

What we really want is to have enough packets in flight so that both
GSO and GRO are efficient.

So in the case GSO is off or downgraded, we still want to have the same
number of packets in flight as if GSO/TSO was fully operational, so
that GRO can hopefully be working efficiently.

To fix this issue, we make tcp_tso_autosize() unaware of
sk->sk_gso_max_segs

Only tcp_tso_segs() has to enforce the gso_max_segs limit.

Tested:

b87b6194be netlink: put module reference if dump start fails
Before, if cb->start() failed, the module reference would never be put,
because cb->cb_running is intentionally false at this point. Users are
generally annoyed by this because they can no longer unload modules that
leak references. Also, it may be possible to tediously wrap a reference
counter back to zero, especially since module.c still uses atomic_inc
instead of refcount_inc.

This patch expands the error path to simply call module_put if
cb->start() fails.

cac56209a6 net: Allow a rule to track originating protocol
Allow a rule that is being added/deleted/modified or
dumped to contain the originating protocol's id.

The protocol is handled just like a routes originating
protocol is.  This is especially useful because there
is starting to be a plethora of different user space
programs adding rules.

Allow the vrf device to specify that the kernel is the originator
of the rule created for this device.

0a6b2a1dc2 tcp: switch to GSO being always on
Oleksandr Natalenko reported performance issues with BBR without FQ
packet scheduler that were root caused to lack of SG and GSO/TSO on
his configuration.

In this mode, TCP internal pacing has to setup a high resolution timer
for each MSS sent.

We could implement in TCP a strategy similar to the one adopted
in commit fefa569a9d ("net_sched: sch_fq: account for schedule/timers drifts")
or decide to finally switch TCP stack to a GSO only mode.

This has many benefits :

1) Most TCP developments are done with TSO in mind.
2) Less high-resolution timers needs to be armed for TCP-pacing
3) GSO can benefit of xmit_more hint
4) Receiver GRO is more effective (as if TSO was used for real on sender)
   -> Lower ACK traffic
5) Write queues have less overhead (one skb holds about 64KB of payload)
6) SACK coalescing just works.
7) rtx rb-tree contains less packets, SACK is cheaper.

This patch implements the minimum patch, but we can remove some legacy
code as follow ups.

Tested:

On 40Gbit link, one netperf -t TCP_STREAM

BBR+fq:
sg on:  26 Gbits/sec
sg off: 15.7 Gbits/sec   (was 2.3 Gbit before patch)

BBR+pfifo_fast:
sg on:  24.2 Gbits/sec
sg off: 14.9 Gbits/sec  (was 0.66 Gbit before patch !!! )

BBR+fq_codel:
sg on:  24.4 Gbits/sec
sg off: 15 Gbits/sec  (was 0.66 Gbit before patch !!! )

The commit a new tc ematch for using netfilter xtable matches.

This allows early classification as well as mirroning/redirecting traffic
based on logic implemented in netfilter extensions.

Current supported use case is classification based on the incoming IPSec
state used during decpsulation using the 'policy' iptables extension
(xt_policy).

The module dynamically fetches the netfilter match module and calls
it using a fake xt_action_param structure based on validated userspace
provided parameters.

As the xt_policy match does not access skb->data, no skb modifications
are needed on match.

5ae437ad5a net: sched: report if filter is too large to dump
So far, if the filter was too large to fit in the allocated skb, the
kernel did not return any error and stopped dumping. Modify the dumper
so that it returns -EMSGSIZE when a filter fails to dump and it is the
first filter in the skb. If we are not first, we will get a next chance
with more room.

I understand this is pretty near to being an API change, but the
original design (silent truncation) can be considered a bug.

Note: The error case can happen pretty easily if you create a filter
with 32 actions and have 4kb pages. Also recent versions of iproute try
to be clever with their buffer allocation size, which in turn leads to

This simplifies cleanup queueing and makes cleanup lists
to use llist primitives. Since llist has its own cmpxchg()
ordering, cleanup_list_lock is not more need.

Also, struct llist_node is smaller, than struct list_head,
so we save some bytes in struct net with this patch.

5fc094f5b8 net: Convert ip6_frags_ops
Exit methods calls inet_frags_exit_net() with global ip6_frags
as argument. So, after we make the pernet_operations async,
a pair of exit methods may be called to iterate this hash table.
Since there is inet_frag_worker(), which already may work
in parallel with inet_frags_exit_net(), and it can make the same
cleanup, that inet_frags_exit_net() does, it's safe. So we may
mark these pernet_operations as async.

d16784d9fb net: Convert fib6_net_ops, ipv6_addr_label_ops and ip6_segments_ops
These pernet_operations register and unregister tables
and lists for packets forwarding. All of the entities
are per-net. Init methods makes simple initializations,
and since net is not visible for foreigners at the time
it is working, it can't race with anything. Exit method
is executed when there are only local devices, and there
mustn't be packets in-flight. Also, it looks like no one
pernet_operations want to send ipv6 packets to foreign
net. The same reasons are for ipv6_addr_label_ops and
ip6_segments_ops. So, we are able to mark all them as
async.

These pernet_operations create and destroy net::ipv6.tcp_sk
socket, which is used in tcp_v6_send_response() only. It looks
like foreign pernet_operations don't want to set ipv6 connection
inside destroyed net, so this socket may be created in destroyed
in parallel with anything else. inet_twsk_purge() is also safe
for that, as described in patch for tcp_sk_ops. So, it's possible
to mark them as async.

These pernet_operations create and destroy net::ipv6.icmp_sk
socket, used to send ICMP or error reply.

Nobody can dereference the socket to handle a packet before
net is initialized, as there is no routing; nobody can do
that in parallel with exit, as all of devices are moved
to init_net or destroyed and there are no packets it-flight.
So, it's possible to mark these pernet_operations as async.

The same for ndisc_net_ops and for igmp6_net_ops. The last
one also creates and destroys /proc entries.

This patch finishes converting pernet_operations
registered in net/wireless directory.

These pernet_operations have only exit method,
which moves devices to init_net. This action
is not pernet_operations-specific, and function
cfg80211_switch_netns() may be called all time
during the system life. All necessary protection
against concurrent cfg80211_pernet_exit() is made
by rtnl_lock(). So, cfg80211_pernet_ops is able
to be marked as async.

First issue is that INIT_WORK() should be done before mod_timer()
or we risk timer being fired too soon, even with a 1 second timer.

191da271ac mac80211: Do not disconnect on invalid operating class
Some APs include a non global operating class in their extended channel
switch information element. In such a case, as the operating class is not
known, mac80211 would decide to disconnect.

However the specification states that the operating class needs to be
taken from Annex E, but it does not specify from which table it should be
taken, so it is valid for an AP to use a non global operating class.

To avoid possibly unneeded disconnection, in such a case ignore the
operating class and assume that the current band is used, and if the
resulting channel and band configuration is invalid disconnect.

When a low level driver calls cfg80211_disconnected(), wep keys are
not cleared. As a result, following connection requests will fail
since cfg80211 internal state shows a connection is still in progress.

a16b8d0cf2 rxrpc: Work around usercopy check
Due to a check recently added to copy_to_user(), it's now not permitted to
copy from slab-held data to userspace unless the slab is whitelisted.  This
affects rxrpc_recvmsg() when it attempts to place an RXRPC_USER_CALL_ID
control message in the userspace control message buffer.  A warning is
generated by usercopy_warn() because the source is the copy of the
user_call_ID retained in the rxrpc_call struct.

Work around the issue by copying the user_call_ID to a variable on the
stack and passing that to put_cmsg().

0cebaccef3 rds: zerocopy Tx support.
If the MSG_ZEROCOPY flag is specified with rds_sendmsg(), and,
if the SO_ZEROCOPY socket option has been set on the PF_RDS socket,
application pages sent down with rds_sendmsg() are pinned.

The pinning uses the accounting infrastructure added by
Commit a91dbff551 ("sock: ulimit on MSG_ZEROCOPY pages")

The payload bytes in the message may not be modified for the
duration that the message has been pinned. A multi-threaded
application using this infrastructure may thus need to be notified
about send-completion so that it can free/reuse the buffers
passed to rds_sendmsg(). Notification of send-completion will
identify each message-buffer by a cookie that the application
must specify as ancillary data to rds_sendmsg().
The ancillary data in this case has cmsg_level == SOL_RDS
and cmsg_type == RDS_CMSG_ZCOPY_COOKIE.

01883eda72 rds: support for zcopy completion notification
RDS removes a datagram (rds_message) from the retransmit queue when
an ACK is received. The ACK indicates that the receiver has queued
the RDS datagram, so that the sender can safely forget the datagram.
When all references to the rds_message are quiesced, rds_message_purge
is called to release resources used by the rds_message

If the datagram to be removed had pinned pages set up, add
an entry to the rs->rs_znotify_queue so that the notifcation
will be sent up via rds_rm_zerocopy_callback() when the
rds_message is eventually freed by rds_message_purge.

rds_rm_zerocopy_callback() attempts to batch the number of cookies
sent with each notification  to a max of SO_EE_ORIGIN_MAX_ZCOOKIES.
This is achieved by checking the tail skb in the sk_error_queue:
if this has room for one more cookie, the cookie from the
current notification is added; else a new skb is added to the
sk_error_queue. Every invocation of rds_rm_zerocopy_callback() will
trigger a ->sk_error_report to notify the application.

ea8994cb01 rds: hold a sock ref from rds_message to the rds_sock
The existing model holds a reference from the rds_sock to the
rds_message, but the rds_message does not itself hold a sock_put()
on the rds_sock. Instead the m_rs field in the rds_message is
assigned when the message is queued on the sock, and nulled when
the message is dequeued from the sock.

We want to be able to notify userspace when the rds_message
is actually freed (from rds_message_purge(), after the refcounts
to the rds_message go to 0). At the time that rds_message_purge()
is called, the message is no longer on the rds_sock retransmit
queue. Thus the explicit reference for the m_rs is needed to
send a notification that will signal to userspace that
it is now safe to free/reuse any pages that may have
been pinned down for zerocopy.

This patch manages the m_rs assignment in the rds_message with
the necessary refcount book-keeping.

15f35d49c9 udplite: fix partial checksum initialization
Since UDP-Lite is always using checksum, the following path is
triggered when calculating pseudo header for it:

  udp4_csum_init() or udp6_csum_init()
    skb_checksum_init_zero_check()
      __skb_checksum_validate_complete()

The problem can appear if skb->len is less than CHECKSUM_BREAK. In
this particular case __skb_checksum_validate_complete() also invokes
__skb_checksum_complete(skb). If UDP-Lite is using partial checksum
that covers only part of a packet, the function will return bad
checksum and the packet will be dropped.

It can be fixed if we skip skb_checksum_init_zero_check() and only
set the required pseudo header checksum for UDP-Lite with partial
checksum before udp4_csum_init()/udp6_csum_init() functions return.

dfec091439 dn_getsockoptdecnet: move nf_{get/set}sockopt outside sock lock
After commit 3f34cfae12 ("netfilter: on sockopt() acquire sock lock
only in the required scope"), the caller of nf_{get/set}sockopt() must
not hold any lock, but, in such changeset, I forgot to cope with DECnet.

This commit addresses the issue moving the nf call outside the lock,
in the dn_{get,set}sockopt() with the same schema currently used by
ipv4 and ipv6. Also moves the unhandled sockopts of the end of the main
switch statements, to improve code readability.

5c45ab24ac tipc: make struct tipc_server private for server.c
In order to narrow the interface and dependencies between the topology
server and the subscription/binding table functionality we move struct
tipc_server inside the file server.c. This requires some code
adaptations in other files, but those are mostly minor.

The most important change is that we have to move the start/stop
functions for the topology server to server.c, where they logically
belong anyway.

8985ecc7c1 tipc: simplify endianness handling in topology subscriber
Because of the requirement for total distribution transparency, users
send subscriptions and receive topology events in their own host format.
It is up to the topology server to determine this format and do the
correct conversions to and from its own host format when needed.

Until now, this has been handled in a rather non-transparent way inside
the topology server and subscriber code, leading to unnecessary
complexity when creating subscriptions and issuing events.

We now improve this situation by adding two new macros, tipc_sub_read()
and tipc_evt_write(). Both those functions calculate the need for
conversion internally before performing their respective operations.
Hence, all handling of such conversions become transparent to the rest
of the code.

df79d040dc tipc: eliminate struct tipc_subscriber
It is unnecessary to keep two structures, struct tipc_conn and struct
tipc_subscriber, with a one-to-one relationship and still with different
life cycles. The fact that the two often run in different contexts, and
still may access each other via direct pointers constitutes an additional
hazard, something we have experienced at several occasions, and still
see happening.

We have identified at least two remaining problems that are easier to
fix if we simplify the topology server data structure somewhat.

- When there is a race between a subscription up/down event and a
  timeout event, it is fully possible that the former might be delivered
  after the latter, leading to confusion for the receiver.

- The function tipc_subcrp_timeout() is executing in interrupt context,
  while the following call chain is at least theoretically possible:
  tipc_subscrp_timeout()
    tipc_subscrp_send_event()
      tipc_conn_sendmsg()
        conn_put()
          tipc_conn_kref_release()
            sock_release(sock)

I.e., we end up calling a function that might try to sleep in
interrupt context. To eliminate this, we need to ensure that the
tipc_conn structure and the socket, as well as the subscription
instances, only are deleted in work queue context, i.e., after the
timeout event really has been sent out.

We now remove this unnecessary complexity, by merging data and
functionality of the subscriber structure into struct tipc_conn
and the associated file server.c. We thereafter add a spinlock and
a new 'inactive' state to the subscription structure. Using those,
both problems described above can be easily solved.
