aaa8cfdada pcmcia: use pcmcia_loop_config in misc pcmcia drivers
Use pcmcia_loop_config() in a few drivers missed during the first
round. On fmvj18x_cs.c it -- strangely -- only requries us to set
conf.ConfigIndex, which is done by the core, so include an empty
loop function which returns 0 unconditionally.

86c34fe89e libertas: remove internal buffers from GSPI driver
This patch removes the internal command and data buffers that the GSPI driver
maintained and instead relies on the Libertas core to synchronize access
to the command and data ports as with the other interface drivers. This
cleanup reduces the GSPI driver's memory footprint and should improve
performance by removing the need to copy to these internal buffers.
This also simplifies the bottom half of the interrupt handler.

This is an incremental cleanup: after removing the redundant buffers, we
can further improve the driver to use a threaded IRQ handler instead of
maintaining its own thread. However I would like a few folks to test
the buffer removal first and make sure that I'm not introducing
regressions.

Tested on Blackfin BF527 with DMA disabled due to an issue with the SPI
host controller driver in the current bleeding-edge Blackfin kernel. I
would appreciate it if someone with working DMA could test this patch
and provide feedback.

e9024a059f libertas if_usb: Fix crash on 64-bit machines
On a 64-bit kernel, skb->tail is an offset, not a pointer. The libertas
usb driver passes it to usb_fill_bulk_urb() anyway, causing interesting
crashes. Fix that by using skb->data instead.

This highlights a problem with usb_fill_bulk_urb(). It doesn't notice
when dma_map_single() fails and return the error to its caller as it
should. In fact it _can't_ currently return the error, since it returns
void.

So this problem was showing up only at unmap time, after we'd already
suffered memory corruption by doing DMA to a bogus address.

Most of the 11d code was protected with an "if (priv->enable11d)" clause.
But there was no code that anywhere that was able to set this

57921c312e libertas: Read buffer overflow
Several arrays were read before checking whether the index was within
bounds. ARRAY_SIZE() should be used to determine the size of arrays.

rates->rates has an arraysize of 1, so calling get_common_rates()

tmp_size can increment at most to (ARRAY_SIZE(lbs_bg_rates) - 1) *

23b149c189 libertas: fix card cleanup order in SDIO driver
The SDIO driver sets the surpriseremoved flag before calling
lbs_remove_card. With IEEE PS enabled, lbs_remove_card must issue a
command to exit IEEE PS mode, however with that flag set the command
path is blocked and the card is never taken out of IEEE PS mode. This
step is required to ensure that the driver can be reloaded. This patch
moves the setting of surpriseremoved after lbs_remove_card is called.

Tested with V9 firmware by ensuring that IEEE PS is disabled when the
driver is removed. Reloading the driver is not fully tested due to a
separate issue with module reload in the SDIO driver, however this
patch at least leaves the card in a better state when we bring the
driver down.

efcfd1f28f libertas: correct card cleanup order in SPI driver
The SPI driver does a couple of card cleanup steps in the wrong order on
module removal. If IEEE PS is enabled, this results in the card being
left in IEEE PS mode and subsequent failures to reload the module. The
problem is that the surpriseremoved flag is set before calling
lbs_remove_card, but that function needs to issue a command to exit IEEE
PS mode (the flag blocks the command path). In addition, lbs_stop_card
should be called first because it clears out any pending commands.

Tested on a GSPI device with V9 firmware by confirming that we can
reload the module with or without IEEE PS enabled.

Also fix a warning from the wrong uint format in a printk.

6bc61f4d8e libertas: improve function init/shutdown handling for SD8688
This patch is to incorporate Dan Williams' comments for commit:
"libertas: implement function init/shutdown commands for SD8688"

1. remove fn_init_required and fn_shutdown_required variables from
lbs_private structure. If required, __lbs_cmd() will be called
directly to send function init/shutdown command for SD8688 in
if_sdio_probe() or if_sdio_remove() callback.

2. add global variable "user_rmmod" to distinguish between the module
removal case and the card removal case. This flag will be checked in
if_sdio_remove() against SD8688 card to determine whether or not the
function shutdown command needs to be sent.

3. remove "card" from if_sdio_model structure as it cannot store
card pointers for multiple cards. Besides, it's no longer needed
to store the "card" pointer with changes #1 & #2 above.

524ad0a791 netdevice: safe convert to netdev_priv() #part-4
We have some reasons to kill netdev->priv:
1. netdev->priv is equal to netdev_priv().
2. netdev_priv() wraps the calculation of netdev->priv's offset, obviously
netdev_priv() is more flexible than netdev->priv.
But we cann't kill netdev->priv, because so many drivers reference to it
directly.

This patch is a safe convert for netdev->priv to netdev_priv(netdev).
Since all of the netdev->priv is only for read.
But it is too big to be sent in one mail.
I split it to 4 parts and make every part smaller than 100,000 bytes,
which is max size allowed by vger.

OK, becasue Dave S. Miller said, "every direct netdev->priv usage is a bug",
and I want to kill netdev->priv later, I decided to convert all the direct
reference of netdev->priv first.

Different to readonly reference of netdev->priv, in this driver, netdev->priv

9c31fd635d libertas: Reduce the WPA key installation time.
WPA requires that the PTK is installed immediately after the 4-way handshake
in order to properly decrypt the subsequent incoming EAPOL-GTK frame. If the
PTK is not enabled by the time the EAPOL-GTK frame arrives, the frame is
dropped and the supplicant does not receive the group key.

This will happen with fast Access Points that send the EAPOL-GTK frame before
the suplicant has successfully installed and enabled the PTK. To mitigate
this situation, this patch simplifies and accelerates the SIOCSIWENCODEEXT
execution.

a01f545040 libertas: fix sleep confirmation
This fixes an issus that made "iwconfig eth1 power on" non-working.
When we get a "PS sleep" event, we have to confirm this to the firmware.
The confirm happens with a command, but this command is special: the
firmware won't send us a response. if_cs_host_to_card() is setting
priv->dnld_sent anyway, so this variable stayed at DNLD_DATA_SENT and
was never cleared back.

Now I put the special knowledge that the CMD_802_11_PS_MODE with
CMD_SUBCMD_SLEEP_CONFIRMED doesn't need to need a response by directly
clearing the dnld_sent state in lbs_send_confirmsleep().

75bf45a7b4 libertas: fix multicast filtering on eth and msh interfaces
We weren't properly handling multicast on the mesh interface. Fix that,
which involves setting up the hardware to use the union of dev->mc_list
for both eth%d and msh%d devices.

This means we can't do it directly from ->set_multicast_list() because
we'd need to lock the other device to read its list, and we can't do
that because it might deadlock. So punt the actual work to keventd.

Also, invoke the same when taking an interface down; for some reason the
core calls ->set_multicast_list while IFF_UP is still set in dev->flags
when we're taking it down, so its addresses don't get removed then.

We also convert MAC_MULTICAST_ADR to a direct command while we're at it,
removing one more entry from the big switch statement in the deprecated
lbs_prepare_and_send_command() function.

This patch (co-developed by Dan Williams and Holger Schurig) uses a kfifo
object for events and a swapping buffer scheme for the command response to
preserve the zero-copy semantics of the CF driver and keep memory usage low.
The main thread should only ever touch the buffer indexed by priv->resp_idx,
while the interface code is free to write to the second buffer, then swap
priv->resp_idx under the driver spinlock. The firmware specs only permit
one in-flight command, so there will only ever be one command response to
process at a time.

priv->hw_get_int_status. However, lbs_thread() has already taken the
priv->driver_lock. So it's a fault to take the same lock again here.

Now uses __lbs_cmd() to get the "log" (it's actually more a snapshot of

the patch add the following logical changes:

* Removes the priv->logmsg variable, it was only used in one place anyway,
also don't blindly get the counters when associating. Getting the
counters then the user asks via WEXT for them is good enought.
* don't set wstats.discard.fragment with log.rxfrag, because the latter is

No need for these any more. We've collapsed all the unneeded nests of
functions which needed to keep track of which device the skb belonged to.

It replaces two lines of code. And even for those it has to make
inferences about things (i.e. which device) which the caller would have
just known.

180be755ae libertas: remove unreachable code from process_rxed_802_11_packet()
The function is only ever called if we're in rtap mode. So the bit in it
which is conditional on rtap mode seems a little superfluous.

The locking issues with TX, especially TX from multiple netdevs, get
_so_ much easier if you do it like this.

a97bcfed96 libertas: TX packet is radiotap iff it comes from rtap_dev
Fix one of the barriers to simultaneous radiotap and normal operation --
stop misinterpreting the TX packets on the normal devices. We're also
going to have to clone the incoming skbs and feed them into both
devices, and there seem to be firmware problems with staying associated
too. But this is a reasonable start...

121947c62a libertas: set dev_addr on rtap device
This lets us bring it up, because eth_validate_addr() succeeds instead
of returning -EINVAL. And finally monitor mode seems to (mostly) work.

d9268fb9a1 libertas: stop using ieee80211 for radiotap device
There seems to be no point in doing it as an ieee80211 device instead of
a normal netdev, and when we override its ->priv and then call
free_ieee80211() it has a distressing tendency to crash horribly.

198cefb932 libertas: kill lbs_pre_start_xmit(), lib_mesh_pre_start_xmit()
These wrappers only do two things.

Firstly, they set the frame type, which isn't necessary since
lbs_hard_start_xmit() gets to see which device it belongs to anyway.

Secondly, they return -EOPNOTSUPP if the device is in monitor mode.
Which is a strange thing to do and will provide nasty warnings from
qdisc_restart(). And lbs_hard_start_xmit() seems to have code to cope
with monitor mode anyway.

on the locking.

2abdc0b775 libertas: kill internal tx queue for PS mode
It was buggy as hell anyway, since it was just spewing packets at the
device when it wasn't necessarily ready for them (in the USB case, while
the URB was still busy).

We could probably do with a better way of flushing packets to the device
_immediately_, before we stick it back into sleep mode. But we can no
longer just dequeue packets directly, it seems.
