3e256ac5b1 fm10k: fix mis-ordered parameters in declaration for .ndo_set_vf_bw
We've had support for setting both a minimum and maximum bandwidth via
.ndo_set_vf_bw since commit 883a9ccbae ("fm10k: Add support for SR-IOV
to driver", 2014-09-20).

Likely because we do not support minimum rates, the declaration
mis-ordered the "unused" parameter, which causes warnings when analyzed
with cppcheck.

Fix this warning by properly declaring the min_rate and max_rate
variables in the declaration and definition (rather than using
"unused"). Also rename "rate" to max_rate so as to clarify that we only
support setting the maximum rate.

1f5c27e528 fm10k: use the MAC/VLAN queue for VF<->PF MAC/VLAN requests
Now that we have a working MAC/VLAN queue for handling MAC/VLAN messages
from the netdev, replace the default handler for the VF<->PF messages.
This new handler is very similar to the default code, but uses the
MAC/VLAN queue instead of sending the message directly. Unfortunately we
can't easily re-use the default code, so we'll just replace the entire
function.

This ensures that a VF requesting a large number of VLANs or MAC
addresses does not start a reset cycle, as explained in the commit which
introduced the message queue.

d876c1583b fm10k: don't loop while resetting VFs due to VFLR event
We've always had a really weird looping construction for resetting VFs.
We read the VFLRE register and reset the VF if the corresponding bit is
set, which makes sense. However we loop continuously until we no longer
have any bits left unset. At first this makes sense, as a sort of "keep
trying until we succeed" concept.

Unfortunately this causes a problem if we happen to surprise remove
while this code is executing, because in this case we'll always read all
1s for the VFLRE register. This results in a hard lockup on the CPU
because the loop will never terminate.

Because our own reset function will clear the VFLR event register
always, (except when we've lost PCIe link obviously) there is no real
reason to loop. In practice, we'll loop over once and find that no VFs
are pending anymore.

Lets just check once. Since we're clear the notification when we reset
there's no benefit to the loop. Additionally, there shouldn't be a race
as future VLFRE events should trigger an interrupt. Additionally, we
didn't warn or do anything in the looped case anyways.

4abf01b43b fm10k: simplify reading PFVFLRE register
We're doing a really convoluted bitshift and read for the PFVFLRE
register. Just reading the PFVFLRE(1), shifting it by 32, then reading
PFVFLRE(0) should be sufficient.

b52b7f7059 fm10k: reschedule service event if we stall the PF<->SM mailbox
When we are handling PF<->VF mailbox messages, it is possible that the
VF will send us so many messages that the PF<->SM FIFO will fill up. In
this case, we stop the loop and wait until the service event is
rescheduled.

Normally this should happen due to an interrupt. But it is possible that
we don't get another interrupt for a while and it isn't until the
service timer actually reschedules us. Instead, simply reschedule
immediately which will cause the service event to be run again as soon
as we exit.

This ensures that we promptly handle all of the PF<->VF messages with
minimal delay, while still giving time for the SM mailbox to drain.

17a9180994 fm10k: ensure we process SM mbx when processing VF mbx
When we process VF mailboxes, the driver is likely going to also queue
up messages to the switch manager. This process merely queues up the
FIFO, but doesn't actually begin the transmission process. Because we
hold the mailbox lock during this VF processing, the PF<->SM mailbox is
not getting processed at this time. Ensure that we actually process the
PF<->SM mailbox in between each PF<->VF mailbox.

This should ensure prompt transmission of the messages queued up after
each VF message is received and handled.

79aab093a0 net: Update API for VF vlan protocol 802.1ad support
Introduce new rtnl UAPI that exposes a list of vlans per VF, giving
the ability for user-space application to specify it for the VF, as an
option to support 802.1ad.
We adjusted IP Link tool to support this option.

For future use cases, the new UAPI supports multiple vlans. For now we
limit the list size to a single vlan in kernel.
Add IFLA_VF_VLAN_LIST in addition to IFLA_VF_VLAN to keep backward
compatibility with older versions of IP Link tool.

Add a vlan protocol parameter to the ndo_set_vf_vlan callback.
We kept 802.1Q as the drivers' default vlan protocol.
Suitable ip link tool command examples:
  Set vf vlan protocol 802.1ad:
ip link set eth0 vf 1 vlan 100 proto 802.1ad
Set vf to VST (802.1Q) mode:
ip link set eth0 vf 1 vlan 100 proto 802.1Q
Or by omitting the new parameter
ip link set eth0 vf 1 vlan 100

b655a5c735 fm10k: don't store sw_vid at reset
If we store the sw_vid at reset of PF, then we accidentally prevent the
VF from receiving the message to update its default VID. This only
occurs if the VF is created before the PF has come up, which is the
standard way of creating VFs when using the module parameter.

This fixes an issue where we request the incorrect MAC/VLAN
combinations, and prevents us from accidentally reporting some frames as
VLAN tagged.

a38488f540 fm10k: force LPORT delete when updating VLAN or MAC address
Currently, we don't notify the switch at all when the PF
administratively sets a new VLAN or MAC address. This causes the old
addresses to remain valid on the switch table. Since the PF is
overriding any configuration done directly by the VF, we choose to
simply re-create the LPORT for the VF. This does mean that all rules for
the VF will be dropped when we set something directly via the PF, but it
prevents some weird issues where the MAC/VLAN table retains some stale
configuration.

ada2411d4f fm10k: comment next_vf_mbx flow
Add a header comment explaining why we have the somewhat crazy mailbox
flow. This flow is necessary as it prevents the PF<->SM mailbox from
being flooded by the VF messages, which normally trigger a message to
the PF. This helps prevent the case where we see a PF mailbox timeout.

9de15bda37 fm10k: don't handle mailbox events in iov_event path and always process mailbox
Since we already schedule the service task, we can just wait for this
task to handle the mailbox events from the VF. This reduces some complex
code flow, and makes it so we have a single path for handling the VF
messages. There is a possibility that we have a slight delay in handling
VF messages, but it should be minimal.

The result of tx_complete and !rx_ready is insufficient to determine
whether we need to process the mailbox. There is a possible race
condition whereby the VF fills up the mbmem for us, but we have already
recently processed the mailboxes in the interrupt. During this time,
the interrupt is disabled. Thus, our Rx FIFO is empty, but the mbmem now
has data in it. Since we continually check whether Rx FIFO is empty, we
then never call process. This results in the possibility to prevent PF
from handling the VF mailbox messages.

Instead, just call process every time, despite the fact that we may or
may not have anything to process for the VF. There should be minimal
overhead for doing this, and it resolves an issue where the VF never
comes up due to never getting response for its SET_LPORT_STATE message.
