863e0d81b6 ocfs2: dlmfs: fix error handling of user_dlm_destroy_lock
When user_dlm_destroy_lock failed, it didn't clean up the flags it set
before exit. For USER_LOCK_IN_TEARDOWN, if this function fails because of
lock is still in used, next time when unlink invokes this function, it
will return succeed, and then unlink will remove inode and dentry if lock
is not in used(file closed), but the dlm lock is still linked in dlm lock
resource, then when bast come in, it will trigger a panic due to
user-after-free. See the following panic call trace. To fix this,
USER_LOCK_IN_TEARDOWN should be reverted if fail. And also error should
be returned if USER_LOCK_IN_TEARDOWN is set to let user know that unlink
fail.

For the case of ocfs2_dlm_unlock failure, besides USER_LOCK_IN_TEARDOWN,
USER_LOCK_BUSY is also required to be cleared. Even though spin lock is
released in between, but USER_LOCK_IN_TEARDOWN is still set, for
USER_LOCK_BUSY, if before every place that waits on this flag,
USER_LOCK_IN_TEARDOWN is checked to bail out, that will make sure no flow
waits on the busy flag set by user_dlm_destroy_lock(), then we can
simplely revert USER_LOCK_BUSY when ocfs2_dlm_unlock fails. Fix
user_dlm_cluster_lock() which is the only function not following this.

0b6d14e3db ocfs2: dlmfs: don't clear USER_LOCK_ATTACHED when destroying lock
The following function is the only place that checks USER_LOCK_ATTACHED.
This flag is set when lock request is granted through user_ast() and only
the following function will clear it.

Checking of this flag here is to make sure ocfs2_dlm_unlock is not issued
if this lock is never granted. For example, lock file is created and then
get removed, open file never happens.

Clearing the flag here is not necessary because this is the only function
that checks it, if another flow is executing user_dlm_destroy_lock(), it
will bail out at the beginning because of USER_LOCK_IN_TEARDOWN and never
check USER_LOCK_ATTACHED. Drop the clear, so we don't need take care of
it for the following error handling patch.

int user_dlm_destroy_lock(struct user_lock_res *lockres)
{
    ...

    status = 0;
    if (!(lockres->l_flags & USER_LOCK_ATTACHED)) {
        spin_unlock(&lockres->l_lock);
        goto bail;
    }

    lockres->l_flags &= ~USER_LOCK_ATTACHED;
    lockres->l_flags |= USER_LOCK_BUSY;
    spin_unlock(&lockres->l_lock);

	status = ocfs2_dlm_unlock(conn, &lockres->l_lksb, DLM_LKF_VALBLK);
    if (status) {
        user_log_dlm_error("ocfs2_dlm_unlock", status, lockres);
        goto bail;
    }
	...
}

bb20b31dee ocfs2: fix mounting crash if journal is not alloced
Patch series "rewrite error handling during mounting stage".

This patch (of 5):

After commit da5e7c8782 ("ocfs2: cleanup journal init and shutdown"),
journal init later than before, it makes NULL pointer access in free
routine.

Crash flow:

ocfs2_fill_super
 + ocfs2_mount_volume
 |  + ocfs2_dlm_init //fail & return, osb->journal is NULL.
 |  + ...
 |  + ocfs2_check_volume //no chance to init osb->journal
 |
 + ...
 + ocfs2_dismount_volume
    ocfs2_release_system_inodes
      ...
       evict
        ...
         ocfs2_clear_inode
          ocfs2_checkpoint_inode
           ocfs2_ci_fully_checkpointed
            time_after(journal->j_trans_id, ci->ci_last_trans)
             + journal is empty, crash!

For fixing, there are three solutions:

1> Partly revert commit da5e7c8782

   For avoiding kernel crash, this make sense for us. We only
   concerned whether there has any non-system inode access before dlm
   init. The answer is NO. And all journal replay/recovery handling
   happen after dlm & journal init done. So this method is not graceful
   but workable.

2> Add osb->journal check in free inode routine (eg ocfs2_clear_inode)

   The fix code is special for mounting phase, but it will continue
   working after mounting stage. In another word, this method adds
   useless code in normal inode free flow.

3> Do directly free inode in mounting phase

   This method is brutal/complex and may introduce unsafe code,
   currently maintainer didn't like.

At last, we chose method <1> and did partly reverted job. We reverted
journal init codes, and kept cleanup codes flow.

6b1f86f8e9 Filesystem folio changes for 5.18
Primarily this series converts some of the address_space operations
 to take a folio instead of a page.

 ->is_partially_uptodate() takes a folio instead of a page and changes the
 type of the 'from' and 'count' arguments to make it obvious they're bytes.
 ->invalidatepage() becomes ->invalidate_folio() and has a similar type change.
 ->launder_page() becomes ->launder_folio()
 ->set_page_dirty() becomes ->dirty_folio() and adds the address_space as
 an argument.

 There are a couple of other misc changes up front that weren't worth
 separating into their own pull request.

07888c665b block: pass a block_device and opf to bio_alloc
Pass the block_device and operation that we plan to use this bio for to
bio_alloc to optimize the assignment. NULL/0 can be passed, both for the
passthrough case on a raw request_queue and to temporarily avoid
refactoring some nasty code.

Also move the gfp_mask argument after the nr_vecs argument for a much
more logical calling convention matching what most of the kernel does.

ddf4b773aa ocfs2: fix a deadlock when commit trans
commit 6f1b228529 introduces a regression which can deadlock as
follows:

  Task1:                              Task2:
  jbd2_journal_commit_transaction     ocfs2_test_bg_bit_allocatable
  spin_lock(&jh->b_state_lock)        jbd_lock_bh_journal_head
  __jbd2_journal_remove_checkpoint    spin_lock(&jh->b_state_lock)
  jbd2_journal_put_journal_head
  jbd_lock_bh_journal_head

Task1 and Task2 lock bh->b_state and jh->b_state_lock in different
order, which finally result in a deadlock.

So use jbd2_journal_[grab|put]_journal_head instead in
ocfs2_test_bg_bit_allocatable() to fix it.

f6a26318e3 ocfs2: fix subdirectory registration with register_sysctl()
The kernel test robot reports that commit c42ff46f97 ("ocfs2: simplify
subdirectory registration with register_sysctl()") is broken, and
results in kernel warning messages like

  sysctl table check failed: fs/ocfs2/nm Not a file
  sysctl table check failed: fs/ocfs2/nm No proc_handler
  sysctl table check failed: fs/ocfs2/nm bogus .mode 0555

and in fact this was already reported back in linux-next, but nobody
seems to have reacted to that report. Possibly that original report
only ever made it to the lkp list.

The problem seems to be that the simplification didn't actually go far
enough, and should have converted the whole directory path to the final
sysctl file, rather than just the two first components.

So take that last step.

0a4ee51818 mm: remove cleancache
Patch series "remove Xen tmem leftovers".

Since the removal of the Xen tmem driver in 2019, the cleancache hooks
are entirely unused, as are large parts of frontswap. This series
against linux-next (with the folio changes included) removes
cleancaches, and cuts down frontswap to the bits actually used by zswap.

This patch (of 13):

The cleancache subsystem is unused since the removal of Xen tmem driver
in commit 814bbf49dc ("xen: remove tmem driver").

5147da902e Merge branch 'exit-cleanups-for-v5.16' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/ebiederm/user-namespace
Pull exit cleanups from Eric Biederman:
 "While looking at some issues related to the exit path in the kernel I
  found several instances where the code is not using the existing
  abstractions properly.

  This set of changes introduces force_fatal_sig a way of sending a
  signal and not allowing it to be caught, and corrects the misuse of
  the existing abstractions that I found.

  A lot of the misuse of the existing abstractions are silly things such
  as doing something after calling a no return function, rolling BUG by
  hand, doing more work than necessary to terminate a kernel thread, or
  calling do_exit(SIGKILL) instead of calling force_sig(SIGKILL).

  In the review a deficiency in force_fatal_sig and force_sig_seccomp
  where ptrace or sigaction could prevent the delivery of the signal was
  found. I have added a change that adds SA_IMMUTABLE to change that
  makes it impossible to interrupt the delivery of those signals, and
  allows backporting to fix force_sig_seccomp

  And Arnd found an issue where a function passed to kthread_run had the
  wrong prototype, and after my cleanup was failing to build."

inode size despite the fact that underlying blocks should be already
zeroed out and writeback will skip writing such pages anyway. Avoid the
pointless work.

839b63860e ocfs2: fix data corruption on truncate
Patch series "ocfs2: Truncate data corruption fix".

As further testing has shown, commit 5314454ea3 ("ocfs2: fix data
corruption after conversion from inline format") didn't fix all the data
corruption issues the customer started observing after 6dbf7bb555
("fs: Don't invalidate page buffers in block_write_full_page()") This
time I have tracked them down to two bugs in ocfs2 truncation code.

One bug (truncating page cache before clearing tail cluster and setting
i_size) could cause data corruption even before 6dbf7bb555, but before
that commit it needed a race with page fault, after 6dbf7bb555 it
started to be pretty deterministic.

Another bug (zeroing pages beyond old i_size) used to be harmless
inefficiency before commit 6dbf7bb555. But after commit 6dbf7bb555
in combination with the first bug it resulted in deterministic data
corruption.

Although fixing only the first problem is needed to stop data
corruption, I've fixed both issues to make the code more robust.

This patch (of 2):

ocfs2_truncate_file() did unmap invalidate page cache pages before
zeroing partial tail cluster and setting i_size. Thus some pages could
be left (and likely have left if the cluster zeroing happened) in the
page cache beyond i_size after truncate finished letting user possibly
see stale data once the file was extended again. Also the tail cluster
zeroing was not guaranteed to finish before truncate finished causing
possible stale data exposure. The problem started to be particularly
easy to hit after commit 6dbf7bb555 "fs: Don't invalidate page buffers
in block_write_full_page()" stopped invalidation of pages beyond i_size
from page writeback path.

Fix these problems by unmapping and invalidating pages in the page cache
after the i_size is reduced and tail cluster is zeroed out.

ae3fab5bcc ocfs2: fix handle refcount leak in two exception handling paths
The reference counting issue happens in two exception handling paths of
ocfs2_replay_truncate_records(). When executing these two exception
handling paths, the function forgets to decrease the refcount of handle
increased by ocfs2_start_trans(), causing a refcount leak.

Fix this issue by using ocfs2_commit_trans() to decrease the refcount of
handle in two handling paths.

b15fa9224e ocfs2: mount fails with buffer overflow in strlen
Starting with kernel 5.11 built with CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE mouting an
ocfs2 filesystem with either o2cb or pcmk cluster stack fails with the
trace below. Problem seems to be that strings for cluster stack and
cluster name are not guaranteed to be null terminated in the disk
representation, while strlcpy assumes that the source string is always
null terminated. This causes a read outside of the source string
triggering the buffer overflow detection.
