The V4L2 flash class initialisation expects struct led_classdev_flash that
describes an indicator but only uses struct led_classdev which is a field
iled_cdev in the struct. Use struct iled_cdev only.

06f8152027 media: v4l2-fwnode: link_frequency is an optional property
v4l2_fwnode_endpoint_alloc_parse() is intended as a replacement for
v4l2_fwnode_endpoint_parse(). It parses the "link-frequency" property and
if the property isn't found, it returns an error. However,
"link-frequency" is an optional property and if it does not exist is not
an error. Instead, the number of link frequencies is simply zero in that
case.

That's because, in thesis, the routine might have called with

Yet, better to shut up this warning, and make the code more

While here, simplify the code a little bit by reading only

eaec420f53 [media] v4l2-ioctl/exynos: fix G/S_SELECTION's type handling
The type field in struct v4l2_selection is supposed to never use the
_MPLANE variants. E.g. if the driver supports V4L2_BUF_TYPE_VIDEO_CAPTURE_MPLANE,
then userspace should still pass V4L2_BUF_TYPE_VIDEO_CAPTURE.

The reasons for this are lost in the mists of time, but it is really
annoying. In addition, the exynos drivers didn't follow this rule and
instead expected the _MPLANE type.

To fix that code is added to the v4l2 core that maps the _MPLANE buffer
types to their regular equivalents before calling the driver.

Effectively this allows for userspace to use either _MPLANE or the regular
buffer type. This keeps backwards compatibility while making things easier
for userspace.

Since drivers now never see the _MPLANE buffer types the exynos drivers
had to be adapted as well.

758d90e161 [media] v4l2-core: Use kvmalloc() for potentially big allocations
There are multiple places where arrays or otherwise variable sized
buffer are allocated through V4L2 core code, including things like
controls, memory pages, staging buffers for ioctls and so on. Such
allocations can potentially require an order > 0 allocation from the
page allocator, which is not guaranteed to be fulfilled and is likely to
fail on a system with severe memory fragmentation (e.g. a system with
very long uptime).

Since the memory being allocated is intended to be used by the CPU
exclusively, we can consider using vmalloc() as a fallback and this is
exactly what the recently merged kvmalloc() helpers do. A kmalloc() call
is still attempted, even for order > 0 allocations, but it is done
with __GFP_NORETRY and __GFP_NOWARN, with expectation of failing if
requested memory is not available instantly. Only then the vmalloc()
fallback is used. This should give us fast and more reliable allocations
even on systems with higher memory pressure and/or more fragmentation,
while still retaining the same performance level on systems not
suffering from such conditions.

While at it, replace explicit array size calculations on changed
allocations with kvmalloc_array().

Purposedly not touching videobuf1, as it is deprecated, has only few
users remaining and would rather be seen removed instead.

f9b67f0014 dma-buf: Rename dma-ops to prevent conflict with kunmap_atomic macro
Seeing the kunmap_atomic dma_buf_ops share the same name with a macro
in highmem.h, the former can be aliased if any dma-buf user includes
that header.

I'm personally trying to include highmem.h inside scatterlist.h and this
breaks the dma-buf code proper.

Christoph Hellwig suggested [1] renaming it and pushing this patch ASAP.

To maintain consistency I've renamed all four of kmap* and kunmap* to be
map* and unmap*. (Even though only kmap_atomic presently conflicts.)

Add this exception to v4l2-compat-ioctl32.

This fixes a compliance error when using compat32 and trying to

that case the driver will return -E2BIG and set edid.blocks to the

47b037a051 [media] v4l2-async: failing functions shouldn't have side effects
v4l2-async had several functions doing some operations and then
not undoing the operations in a failure situation. For example,
v4l2_async_test_notify() moved a subdev into notifier's done list
even if registering the subdev (v4l2_device_register_subdev) failed.
If the subdev was allocated and v4l2_async_register_subdev() called
from the driver's probe() function, as usually, the probe()
function freed the allocated subdev and returned a failure.
Nevertheless, the subdev was still left into the notifier's done
list, causing an access to already freed memory when the notifier
was later unregistered.

A hand-edited call trace leaving freed subdevs into the notifier:

v4l2_async_register_notifier(notifier, asd)
cameradrv_probe
 sd = devm_kzalloc()
 v4l2_async_register_subdev(sd)
  v4l2_async_test_notify(notifier, sd, asd)
   list_move(sd, &notifier->done)
   v4l2_device_register_subdev(notifier->v4l2_dev, sd)
    cameradrv_registered(sd) -> fails
->v4l2_async_register_subdev returns failure
->cameradrv_probe returns failure
->devres frees the allocated sd
->sd was freed but it still remains in the notifier's list.

This patch fixes this and several other cases where a failing
function could leave nodes into a linked list while the caller
might free the node due to a failure.

d2180e0cf7 [media] v4l: async: make v4l2 coexist with devicetree nodes in a dt overlay
In asds configured with V4L2_ASYNC_MATCH_OF, the v4l2 subdev can be
part of a devicetree overlay, for example:

&media_bridge {
	...
	my_port: port@0 {
		#address-cells = <1>;
		#size-cells = <0>;
		reg = <0>;
		ep: endpoint@0 {
			remote-endpoint = <&camera0>;
		};
	};
};

/ {
	fragment@0 {
		target = <&i2c0>;
		__overlay__ {
			my_cam {
				compatible = "foo,bar";
				port {
					camera0: endpoint {
						remote-endpoint = <&my_port>;
						...
					};
				};
			};
		};
	};
};

Each time the overlay is applied, its of_node pointer will be
different. We are not interested in matching the pointer, what we
want to match is that the path is the one we are expecting. Change to
use of_node_cmp() so that we continue matching after the overlay has
been removed and reapplied.

90cd366bc6 [media] media: Protect enable_source and disable_source handler code paths
Drivers might try to access and run enable_source and disable_source
handlers when the driver that implements these handlers is clearing
the handlers during its unregister.

Fix the following race condition:

process 1				process 2

request video streaming			unbind au0828
v4l2 checks if tuner is free
...					...

					au0828_unregister_media_device()
...					...
					(doesn't hold graph_mutex)
					mdev->enable_source = NULL;
if (mdev && mdev->enable_source)	mdev->disable_source = NULL;
	mdev->enable_source()
(enable_source holds graph_mutex)

As shown above enable_source check is done without holding the graph_mutex.
If unbind happens to be in progress, au0828 could clear enable_source and
disable_source handlers leading to null pointer de-reference.

Fix it by protecting enable_source and disable_source set and clear and
protecting enable_source and disable_source handler access and the call
itself.

process 1				process 2

request video streaming			unbind au0828
v4l2 checks if tuner is free
...					...

					au0828_unregister_media_device()
...					...
					(hold graph_mutex while clearing)
					mdev->enable_source = NULL;
if (mdev)				mdev->disable_source = NULL;
(hold graph_mutex to check and
 call enable_source)
    if (mdev->enable_source)
	mdev->enable_source()

If graph_mutex is held to just heck for handler being null and needs to be
released before calling the handler, there will be another window for the
handlers to be cleared. Hence, enable_source and disable_source handlers
no longer hold the graph_mutex and expect callers to hold it to avoid
forcing them release the graph_mutex before calling the handlers.

20b8522736 [media] media: Rename graph and pipeline structs and functions
The media_entity_pipeline_start() and media_entity_pipeline_stop()
functions are renamed as media_pipeline_start() and media_pipeline_stop(),
respectively. The reason is two-fold: the pipeline struct is, rightly,
already called media_pipeline (rather than media_entity_pipeline) and what
this really is about is a pipeline. A pipeline consists of entities ---
and, well, other objects embedded in these entities.

As the pipeline object will be in the future moved from entities to pads
in order to support multiple pipelines through a single entity, do the
renaming now.

Similarly, functions operating on struct media_entity_graph as well as the
struct itself are renamed by dropping the "entity_" part from the prefix
of the function family and the data structure. The graph traversal which
is what the functions are about is not specifically about entities only
and will operate on pads for the same reason as the media pipeline.

The patch has been generated using the following command:

git grep -l media_entity |xargs perl -i -pe '
	s/media_entity_pipeline/media_pipeline/g;
	s/media_entity_graph/media_graph/g'

1a29d85eb0 mm: use vmf->address instead of of vmf->virtual_address
Every single user of vmf->virtual_address typed that entry to unsigned
long before doing anything with it so the type of virtual_address does
not really provide us any additional safety. Just use masked

8720427c19 [media] v4l2-core: don't break long lines
Due to the 80-cols restrictions, and latter due to checkpatch
warnings, several strings were broken into multiple lines. This
is not considered a good practice anymore, as it makes harder
to grep for strings at the source code.

As we're right now fixing other drivers due to KERN_CONT, we need
to be able to identify what printk strings don't end with a "\n".
It is a way easier to detect those if we don't break long lines.

So, join those continuation lines.

The patch was generated via the script below, and manually
adjusted if needed.

</script>
use Text::Tabs;
while (<>) {
	if ($next ne "") {
		$c=$_;
		if ($c =~ /^\s+\"(.*)/) {
			$c2=$1;
			$next =~ s/\"\n$//;
			$n = expand($next);
			$funpos = index($n, '(');
			$pos = index($c2, '",');
			if ($funpos && $pos > 0) {
				$s1 = substr $c2, 0, $pos + 2;
				$s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . substr $c2, $pos + 2;
				$s2 =~ s/^\s+//;

				$s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . $s2 if ($s2 ne "");

				print unexpand("$next$s1\n");
				print unexpand("$s2\n") if ($s2 ne "");
			} else {
				print "$next$c2\n";
			}
			$next="";
			next;
		} else {
			print $next;
		}
		$next="";
	} else {
		if (m/\"$/) {
			if (!m/\\n\"$/) {
				$next=$_;
				next;
			}
		}
	}
	print $_;

63ae602cea Merge branch 'gup_flag-cleanups'
Merge the gup_flags cleanups from Lorenzo Stoakes:
 "This patch series adjusts functions in the get_user_pages* family such
  that desired FOLL_* flags are passed as an argument rather than
  implied by flags.

  The purpose of this change is to make the use of FOLL_FORCE explicit
  so it is easier to grep for and clearer to callers that this flag is
  being used. The use of FOLL_FORCE is an issue as it overrides missing
  VM_READ/VM_WRITE flags for the VMA whose pages we are reading
  from/writing to, which can result in surprising behaviour.

  The patch series came out of the discussion around commit 38e0885465
  ("mm: check VMA flags to avoid invalid PROT_NONE NUMA balancing"),
  which addressed a BUG_ON() being triggered when a page was faulted in
  with PROT_NONE set but having been overridden by FOLL_FORCE.
  do_numa_page() was run on the assumption the page _must_ be one marked
  for NUMA node migration as an actual PROT_NONE page would have been
  dealt with prior to this code path, however FOLL_FORCE introduced a
  situation where this assumption did not hold.

  See

      https://marc.info/?l=linux-mm&m=147585445805166

  for the patch proposal"

Additionally, there's a fix for an ancient bug related to FOLL_FORCE and
FOLL_WRITE by me.

a53d2f299d [media] v4l2-async: remove unneeded .registered_async callback
The v4l2_subdev_core_ops .registered_async callback was added to notify
a subdev when its entity has been registered with the media device, to
allow for example to modify the media graph (i.e: adding entities/links).

But that's not needed since there is already a .registered callback in
struct v4l2_subdev_internal_ops that's called after the entity has been
registered with the media device in v4l2_device_register_subdev().

fc49071766 [media] v4l: Do not allow re-registering sub-devices
Albeit not prohibited explicitly, re-registering sub-devices generated a
big, loud warning which quite likely soon was followed by a crash. What
followed was re-initialising a media entity, driver's registered() callback
being called and re-adding a list entry to a list.

Prevent this by returning an error if a sub-device is already registered.

82019205e3 [media] vb2: remove TODO comment for dma-buf in QBUF
There is a TODO comment about the dma-buf being mapped in VIDIOC_QBUF
instead of doing it closer to when the actual DMA is going to happen
when the buffers are queued in the driver (i.e: __enqueue_in_driver).

But there is a reason to do it earlier in QBUF, and is that userspace
has no way to know if a exported dma-buf can be imported successfully
and so relies on QBUF succeeding as indication that the dma-buf mapped.

If QBUF fails, the application can fallback to another streaming I/O
method. But moving the dma-buf mapping later when queueing the buffers
can be too late for userspace to recover, since it may had dropped the
buffer(s) already when it knows that the dma-buf mapping failed.

So remove the TODO instead and change the comment to explain this.

00085f1efa dma-mapping: use unsigned long for dma_attrs
The dma-mapping core and the implementations do not change the DMA
attributes passed by pointer. Thus the pointer can point to const data.
However the attributes do not have to be a bitfield. Instead unsigned
long will do fine:

1. This is just simpler. Both in terms of reading the code and setting
   attributes. Instead of initializing local attributes on the stack
   and passing pointer to it to dma_set_attr(), just set the bits.

2. It brings safeness and checking for const correctness because the
   attributes are passed by value.
