24586d8342 video: mmp: add pitch info in mmp_win structure
Add pitch length info of graphics/video layer, pitch is used
to represent line length in byte, the usage depends on pix_fmt.
If the fmt is YUV, the pitch[0] will be Y length,pitch[1]
will be U length, pitch[2] will be V lenth.
If the fmt is RGB, the picth[0] will be line lenth, and
pitch[1]/pitch[2] will be 0 and not be used.

9a27d5916b video: mmp: rb swap setting update for mmp display
We could set rb swap in two modules: DMA controler input part and
dsi interface output part.
DMA input part is based on pix_fmt to set rbswap, dsi output interface
part will set rbswap based on platform dsi_rbswap configuration.

This patch include below change and enhancement:

1) The input format which support rbswap is based on RGB format,
eg. RGB565 indicates the source data in memory is that Red is [15~11],
Green is [10~5], Blue is [4:0], Red is MSB, Blue is LSB, but for the
display dma input default setting(rbswap = 0), it only support Blue
is [15~11], Green is [10~5], Red is [4:0], Red is LSB, Blue is MSB,
so for this format(RGB565), display controller need to set rbswap
 = 1 and it can support the MSB/LSB correctly.
BGR/YUV format will not set it in mmp display driver.

2) The dsi output part of rbswap is depend on dsi_rbswap which is
defined in specific platfrom. For output dsi interface, it has this
feature to do rbswap again if it needs specifc byte sequence of RGB
byte for DSI panel.
eg. If display content is set RGB565 in memory and DMA input part set
rbswap in driver to support Red as MSB , Blue LSB, but dsi panel only
support Red as LSB, Blue as MSB, then it can use this feature.
If there is no this requirement of panel, this dsi output part is not
needed.

9560dc1059 OMAPDSS: rename omap_dss_device's 'device' field to 'dst'
In the old panel device model we had omap_dss_output entities,
representing the encoders in the DSS block. This entity had "device"
field, which pointed to the panel that was using the omap_dss_output.

With the new panel device model, the omap_dss_output is integrated into
omap_dss_device, which now represents a "display entity". Thus the "device"
field, now in omap_dss_device, points to the next entity in the display
entity-chain.

This patch renames the "device" field to "dst", which much better tells
what the field points to.

a73fdc6474 OMAPDSS: rename omap_dss_device's 'output' to 'src'
In the old panel device model we had "outputs", which were the encoders
inside OMAP DSS block, and panel devices (omap_dss_device). The panel
devices had a reference to the source of the video data, i.e. reference
to an "output", in a field named "output".

That was somewhat confusing even in the old panel device model, but even
more so with the panel device model where we can have longer chains of
display entities.

This patch renames the "output" field to "src", which much better tells
what the field points to.

This is the second part of OMAP DSS changes for 3.11. This part contains the
 new DSS device model support.
 
 The current OMAP panel drivers use a custom DSS bus, and there's a hard limit
 of one external display block per video pipeline. In the new DSS device model
 the devices/drivers are made according to the control bus of the display block,
 usually platform, i2c or spi. The display blocks can also be chained so that we
 can have separate drivers for setups with both external encoder and panel.
 
 To allow the current board files, which use the old style panels, to function,
 the old display drivers are left in their current state, and new ones are added
 to drivers/video/omap2/displays-new/. When the board files have been converted
 to use the new style panels, we can remove the old code. This is planned to
 happen in v3.12.
 
 Having to support two very different DSS device models makes the driver
 somewhat confusing in some parts, and prevents us from properly cleaning up
 some other parts. These cleanups will be done when the old code is removed.
 
 The new device model is designed with CDF (Common Display Framework) in mind.
 While CDF is still under work, the new DSS device model should be much more
 similar to CDF's model than the old device model, which should make the
 eventual conversion to CDF much easier.

5d47dbc852 OMAPDSS: public omapdss_register_output()
In order to allow multiple display block in a video pipeline, we need to
give the drivers way to register themselves. For now we have
the omapdss_register_display() which is used to register panels, and
dss_register_output() which is used to register DSS encoders.

This patch makes dss_register_output() public (with the name of
omapdss_register_output), which can be used to register also external
encoders. The distinction between register_output and register_display
is that a "display" is an entity at the end of the videopipeline, and
"output" is something inside the pipeline.

The registration and naming will be made saner in the future, but the
current names and functions are kept to minimize changes during the dss
device model transition.

1f68d9c4b6 OMAPDSS: combine omap_dss_output into omap_dss_device
We currently have omap_dss_device, which represents an external display
device, sometimes an external encoder, sometimes a panel. Then we have
omap_dss_output, which represents DSS's output encoder.

In the future with new display device model, we construct a video
pipeline from the display blocks. To accomplish this, all the blocks
need to be presented by the same entity.

Thus, this patch combines omap_dss_output into omap_dss_device. Some of
the fields in omap_dss_output are already found in omap_dss_device, but
some are not. This means we'll have DSS output specific fields in
omap_dss_device, which is not very nice. However, it is easier to just
keep those output specific fields there for now, and after transition to
new display device model is made, they can be cleaned up easier than
could be done now.

The omap_dss_start_device() and omap_dss_stop_device(), called by the
DSS output drivers, are old relics. They originally did something
totally else, but nowadays they increase the module ref count for panels
that are enabled.

This model is quite broken: the panel modules may be used even before
they are enabled. For example, configuring the panel requires calls to
functions located in the panel modules.

In the following patches we try to improve the ref count management for
the modules and display devices. The first step, however, is to remove
the omap_dss_start/stop_device() totally.

We are about to remove the dss bus support, which also means that the
omap_dss_device won't be a real device anymore. This means that the
embedded "dev" struct needs to be removed from omap_dss_device.

After we've finished the removal of the dss bus, we see the following
changes:

- struct omap_dss_device won't be a real Linux device anymore, but more
  like a "display entity".
- struct omap_dss_driver won't be a Linux device driver, but "display
  entity ops".
- The panel devices/drivers won't be omapdss devices/drivers, but
  platform/i2c/spi/etc devices/drivers, whichever fits the control
  mechanism of the panel.
- The panel drivers will create omap_dss_device and omap_dss_driver,
  fill the required fields, and register the omap_dss_device to
  omapdss.
- omap_dss_device won't have an embedded dev struct anymore, but a
  dev pointer to the actual device that manages the omap_dss_device.

The model described above resembles the model that has been discussed
with CDF (common display framework).

For the duration of the conversion, we temporarily have two devs in the
dssdev, the old "old_dev", which is a full embedded device struct, and the
new "dev", which is a pointer to the device. "old_dev" will be removed
in the future.

For devices belonging to dss bus the dev is initialized to point to
old_dev. This way all the code can just use the dev, for both old and
new style panels.

Both the new and old style panel drivers work during the conversion, and
only after the dss bus support is removed will the old style panels stop
to compile.

2e7e3dc794 OMAPDSS: add panel list
We currently use the omapdss bus (which contains all the available
displays) to iterate the displays. As the omapdss bus is on its way out,
this needs to be changed.

Instead of using the dss bus to iterate displays, this patch adds our
own list of displays which we manage. The panels on the dss bus are
automatically added to this new list.

An "alias" field is also added to omap_dss_device. This field is
set to "display%d", the same way as omap_dss_device's dev name is set.
This alias is later used to keep backward compatibility, when the
embedded dev is no longer used.

a7e71e7f9f OMAPDSS: Implement display (dis)connect support
We currently have two steps in panel initialization and startup: probing
and enabling. After the panel has been probed, it's ready and can be
configured and later enabled.

This model is not enough with more complex display pipelines, where we
may have, for example, two panels, of which only one can be used at a
time, connected to the same video output.

To support that kind of scenarios, we need to add new step to the
initialization: connect.

This patch adds support for connecting and disconnecting panels. After
probe, but before connect, no panel ops should be called. When the
connect is called, a proper video pipeline is established, and the panel
is ready for use. If some part in the video pipeline is already
connected (by some other panel), the connect call fails.

One key difference with the old style setup is that connect() handles
also connecting to the overlay manager. This means that the omapfb (or
omapdrm) no longer needs to figure out which overlay manager to use, but
it can just call connect() on the panel, and the proper overlay manager
is connected by omapdss.

This also allows us to add back the support for dynamic switching
between two exclusive panels. However, the current panel device model is
not changed to support this, as the new device model is implemented in
the following patches and the old model will be removed. The new device
model supports dynamic switching.

omap_dss_device. Internally omapdss uses the device's name to resolve

63e28a7a5f uvesafb: Clean up MTRR code
The old code allowed very strange memory types.  Now it works like
all the other video drivers: ioremap_wc is used unconditionally,
and MTRRs are set if PAT is unavailable (unless MTRR is disabled
by a module parameter).

UC, WB, and WT support is gone.  If there are MTRR conflicts that prevent
addition of a WC MTRR, adding a non-conflicting MTRR is pointless; it's
better to just turn off MTRR support entirely.

As an added bonus, any MTRR added is freed on unload.

allocating memory for the entries. However, most of the time when
parsing display timings from DT data is needed, there's only one display
timing as it's not common for a LCD panel to support multiple videomodes.

This patch creates a new function:

When booting with DT, there's a crash when omapfb is probed. This is
caused by the fact that omapdss+DT is not yet supported, and thus
omapdss is not probed at all. On the other hand, omapfb is always
probed. When omapfb tries to use omapdss, there's a NULL pointer
dereference crash. The same error should most likely happen with omapdrm
and omap_vout also.

To fix this, add an "initialized" state to omapdss. When omapdss has
been probed, it's marked as initialized. omapfb, omapdrm and omap_vout
check this state when they are probed to see that omapdss is actually
there.

 reason or another the subsystem maintainer preferred to get merged
 through the arm-soc tree. There are both new drivers as well as

 In particular, we can now have pinctrl, clk, clksource and irqchip
 drivers in one file per driver, without the need to call into

 Most of the drivers we touch this time are for clocksource. Since
 now most of them are part of drivers/clocksource, I expect that we
 won't have to touch these again from arm-soc and can let the
 clocksource maintainers take care of these in the future.
 
 Another larger part of this series is specific to the exynos platform,
 which is seeing some significant effort in upstreaming and
 modernization of its device drivers this time around, which
 unfortunately is also the cause for the churn and a lot of the
 merge conflicts.
 
 There is one new subsystem that gets merged as part of this series:
 the reset controller interface, which is a very simple interface
 for taking devices on the SoC out of reset or back into reset.
 Patches to use this interface on i.MX follow later in this merge

46e1915eef drivers/video/backlight/platform_lcd.c: introduce probe callback
Platform LCD devices may need to do some device-specific initialization
before they can be used (regulator or GPIO setup, for example), but
currently the driver does not support any way of doing this.  This patch
adds a probe() callback to plat_lcd_data which platform LCD devices can
set to indicate that device-specific initialization is needed.

The new code does not need DSI video mode parameters from the panel
driver, like the old code does. Instead the new code is given the normal
video timings, and a few DSI parameters, which are used to create DSI

2eea5ae6c1 OMAPDSS: add output->dispc_channel
The DISPC channel used for each output is currently passed in panel
platform data from the board files.

To simplify this, and to make the panel drivers less dependent on OMAP,
this patch changes omapdss to resolve the channel independently. The
channel is resolved based on the OMAP version and, in case of DSI, the
DSI module id. This resolved channel is stored into a new field in
output, dispc_channel.

The few places where dssdev->channel was used are changed to use
output->recommended_channel. After this patch, dssdev->channel is
obsolete.

a0d8dde9cb OMAPDSS: panels: keep platform data of all panels in a single header
Structs for platform data of omapdss panels are found in headers in the
'include/video/' path. Board files populate these structs with platform
specific values, and the panel driver uses these to configure the panel.

Currently, each panel has it's own header in the above path. Move all the
omapdss panel platform data structs to a single header omap-panel-data.h.
This is useful because:

- All other omapdss panel drivers will be modified to use platform data. This
  would lead to a lot of panel headers usable only by omapdss. A lot of these
  platform data structs are trivial, and don't really need a separate header.
- Platform data would be eventually removed, and platform information would be
  passed via device tree. Therefore, omapdss panel platform data structs are
  temporary, and will be easier to remove if they are all in the same header.
- All board files will have to include the same header to configure a panel's
  platform data, that makes the board files more consistent.

Add platform device-id table in order to identify the controller and
determine its configuration.

The currently used configuration parameters are:

have_alt_pixclock
 - SOC uses an alternate pixel-clock calculation formula (at91sam9g45
   non-ES)

have_hozval
 - SOC has a HOZVAL field in LCDFRMCFG which is used to determine the
   linesize for STN displays (at91sam9261, at921sam9g10 and at32ap)

have_intensity_bit
 - SOC uses IBGR:555 rather than BGR:565 16-bit pixel layout
   (at91sam9261, at91sam9263 and at91sam9rl)

This allows us to remove all the remaining uses of cpu_is macros from
the driver.

Tested on at91sam9263 and at91sam9g45, compile-tested for other
AT91-SOCs, and untested for AVR32.

Add mmp display subsystem to support Marvell MMP display controllers.

This subsystem contains 4 parts:
--fb folder
--core.c
--hw folder
--panel folder

1. fb folder contains implementation of fb.  fb get path and overlay
   from common interface and operates on these structures.

2. core.c provides common interface for a hardware abstraction.  Major
   parts of this interface are:

   a) Path: path is a output device connected to a panel or HDMI TV.  Main
      operations of the path is set/get timing/output color.  fb operates
      output device through path structure.

   b) Ovly: Ovly is a buffer shown on the path.

      Ovly describes frame buffer and its source/destination size, offset,
      input color, buffer address, z-order, and so on.  Each fb device maps
      to one overlay.

3. hw folder contains implementation of hardware operations defined by
   core.c.  It registers paths for fb use.

4. panel folder contains implementation of panels.  It's connected to
   path.  Panel drivers would also regiester panels and linked to path
   when probe.

cc3f414cf2 video: add of helper for display timings/videomode
This adds support for reading display timings from DT into a struct
display_timings. The of_display_timing implementation supports multiple
subnodes. All children are read into an array, that can be queried.

If no native mode is specified, the first subnode will be used.

For cases where the graphics driver knows there can be only one
mode description or where the driver only supports one mode, a helper
function of_get_videomode is added, that gets a struct videomode from DT.

8714c0cecf video: add display_timing and videomode
Add display_timing structure and the according helper functions. This allows
the description of a display via its supported timing parameters.

Also, add helper functions to convert from display timings to a generic videomode
structure.

The struct display_timing specifies all needed parameters to describe the signal
properties of a display in one mode. This includes
    - ranges for signals that may have min-, max- and typical values
    - single integers for signals that can be on, off or are ignored
    - booleans for signals that are either on or off

As a display may support multiple modes like this, a struct display_timings is
added, that holds all given struct display_timing pointers and declares the
native mode of the display.

Although a display may state that a signal can be in a range, it is driven with
fixed values that indicate a videomode. Therefore graphic drivers don't need all
the information of struct display_timing, but would generate a videomode from
the given set of supported signal timings and work with that.

The video subsystems all define their own structs that describe a mode and work
with that (e.g. fb_videomode or drm_display_mode). To slowly replace all those
various structures and allow code reuse across those subsystems, add struct
videomode as a generic description.

This patch only includes the most basic fields in struct videomode. All missing
fields that are needed to have a really generic video mode description can be
added at a later stage.

ca2e16faa7 OMAP: board-files: fix i2c_bus for tfp410
The i2c handling in tfp410 driver, which handles converting parallel RGB
to DVI, was changed in 958f2717b8
(OMAPDSS: TFP410: pdata rewrite). The patch changed what value the
driver considers as invalid/undefined.  Before the patch, 0 was the
invalid value, but as 0 is a valid bus number, the patch changed this to
-1.

However, the fact was missed that many board files do not define the bus
number at all, thus it's left to 0. This causes the driver to fail to
get the i2c bus, exiting from the driver's probe with an error, meaning
that the DVI output does not work for those boards.

This patch fixes the issue by changing the i2c_bus number field in the
driver's platform data from u16 to int, and setting the bus number to -1
in the board files for the boards that did not define the bus. The
exception is devkit8000, for which the bus is set to 1, which is the
correct bus for that board.

The bug exists in v3.5+ kernels.

8dd2491a42 OMAPDSS: add omapdss_compat_init()
Add two new exported functions, omapdss_compat_init and
omapdss_compat_uninit, which are to be used by omapfb, omap_vout to
enable compatibility mode for omapdss. The functions are called by
omapdss internally for now, and moved to other drivers later.

The compatibility mode is implemented fully in the following patches.
For now, enabling compat mode only sets up the private data in apply.c.

b2c7d54f72 OMAPDSS: get the dss version from core pdev
The output drivers get the omapdss hw version from the platform data for
their respective output device. This doesn't work with DT, as there's no
platform data for them.

Add a new function, omapdss_get_version(), which returns the dss version
from the core device, which will have platform data on DT also. The
function is exported so that users of omapdss can also use it.

version the SoC has. This enum is initialized during platform init, and

749feffa6b OMAPDSS: DISPC: Configure overlay-like parameters in dispc_wb_setup
Create struct omap_dss_writeback_info, this is similar to omap_overlay_info,
the major difference is that there is no parameter which describes the input
size to writeback, this is because this is always fixed, and decided by the
connected overlay or overlay manager. One more difference is that screen_width
is renamed to buf_width, to give the value of stride the writeback buffer has.

Call dispc_ovl_setup_common() through dispc_wb_setup() to configure overlay-like
parameters. The parameters in dispc_ovl_setup_common() which do not hold for
writeback are filled passed as zeroes or false, the code takes care of not
configuring them as they won't possess the needed overlay caps.

so writeback can reuse dispc_ovl_setup() to the maximum.

Keep the omap_overlay_manager pointer in omap_dss_device for now to prevent
breaking things. This will be removed later when outputs are supported

484dc404d2 OMAPDSS: outputs: Create a new entity called outputs
The current OMAPDSS design contains 3 software entities: Overlays, Managers and
Devices. These map to pipelines, overlay managers and the panels respectively in
hardware. One or more overlays connect to a manager to represent a composition,
the manager connects to a device(generally a display) to display the content.

The part of DSS hardware which isn't represented by any of the above entities
are interfaces/outputs that connect to an overlay manager, i.e blocks like DSI,
HDMI, VENC and so on. Currently, an overlay manager directly connects to the
display, and the output to which it is actually connected is ignored. The panel
driver of the display is responsible of calling output specific functions to
configure the output.

Adding outputs as a new software entity gives us the following benefits:

- Have exact information on the possible connections between managers and
  outputs: A manager can't connect to each and every output, there only limited
  hardware links between a manager's video port and some of the outputs.

- Remove hacks related to connecting managers and devices: Currently, default
  links between managers and devices are set in a not so clean way. Matching is
  done via comparing the device type, and the display types supported by the
  manager. This isn't sufficient to establish all the possible links between
  managers, outputs and devices in hardware.

- Make panel drivers more generic: The DSS panel drivers currently call
  interface/output specific functions to configure the hardware IP. When making
  these calls, the driver isn't actually aware of the underlying output. The
  output driver extracts information from the panel's omap_dss_device pointer
  to figure out which interface it is connected to, and then configures the
  corresponding output block. An example of this is when a DSI panel calls
  dsi functions, the dsi driver figures out whether the panel is connected
  to DSI1 or DSI2. This isn't correct, and having output as entities will
  give the panel driver the exact information on which output to configure.
  Having outputs also gives the opportunity to make panel drivers generic
  across different platforms/SoCs, this is achieved as omap specific output
  calls can be replaced by ops of a particular output type.

- Have more complex connections between managers, outputs and devices: OMAPDSS
  currently doesn't support use cases like 2 outputs connect to a single
  device. This can be achieved by extending properties of outputs to connect to
  more managers or devices.

- Represent writeback as an output: The writeback pipeline fits well in OMAPDSS
  as compared to overlays, managers or devices.

Add a new struct to represent outputs. An output struct holds pointers to the
manager and device structs to which it is connected. Add functions which can
register/unregister an output, or look for one. Create an enum which represent
each output instance.

66a0f9e4ac OMAPDSS: Use WB fifo for GFX overlay
OMAP4's GFX overlay has smaller fifo than the rest of the overlays
(including writeback "overlay"). This seems to be the reason for
underflows in some more demanding scenarios.

We can avoid the problems by using the WB fifo for GFX overlay, and vice
versa. WB usage is not supported yet, but when it will, it should
perform just fine with smaller fifo as there are no hard realtime
constraints with WB.

ee144e645a OMAPDSS: DSI: calculate dsi clock
Currently the way to configure clocks related to DSI (both DSI and DISPC
clocks) happens via omapdss platform data. The reason for this is that
configuring the DSS clocks is a very complex problem, and it's
impossible for the SW to know requirements about things like
interference.

However, for general cases it should be fine to calculate the dividers
for clocks in the SW. The calculated clocks are probably not perfect,
but should work.

This patch adds support to calculate the dividers when using DSI command
mode panels. The panel gives the required DDR clock rate and LP clock
rate, and the DSI driver configures itself and DISPC accordingly.

This patch is somewhat ugly, though. The code does its job by modifying
the platform data where the clock dividers would be if the board file
gave them. This is not how it's going to be in the future, but allows us
to have quite simple patch and keep the backward compatibility.

It also allows the developer to still give the exact dividers from the
board file when there's need for that, as long as the panel driver does
not override them.

There are also other areas for improvement. For example, it would be
better if the panel driver could ask for a DSI clock in a certain range,
as, at least command mode panels, the panel can work fine with many
different clock speeds.

While the patch is not perfect, it allows us to remove the hardcoded
clock dividers from the board file, making it easier to bring up a new
panel and to use device tree from omapdss.

We currently manage HDMI GPIOs in the board files via
platform_enable/disable calls. This won't work with device tree, and in
any case the correct place to manage the GPIOs is in the HDMI driver.

This patch moves the handling of the GPIOs to the HDMI driver. The GPIO
handling is moved to the common hdmi.c file, and this probably needs to
be revisited when adding OMAP5 HDMI support to see if the GPIO handling
needs to be moved to IP specific files.

timings. This generic op can be considered as a way to set custom or private
timings for the output.

In the case of OMAP, DSI and RFBI require some more timings apart from the
relgular DISPC timings. The structs omap_dss_videomode_timings and rfbi_timings
can be considered as these output specific timings respectively.

DSI command mode panels don't need to configure a full set of timings to
configure DSI, they only require the width and the height of the panel in
pixels.

Use omapdss_dsi_set_size for command mode panels, omapdss_dsi_set_timings is
meant for video mode panels. When performing rotation via chaning the address
mode of the panel, we would need to swap width and height when doing 90 or 270
rotation. Make sure that omapdss_dsi_set_size() makes the new width and height
visible to DSI.

fb8fa94319 video: da8xx-fb: configure FIFO threshold to reduce underflow errors
Patch works around the below silicon errata:
During LCDC initialization, there is the potential for a FIFO
underflow condition to occur. A FIFO underflow condition
occurs when the input FIFO is completely empty and the LCDC
raster controller logic that drives data to the output pins
attempts to fetch data from the FIFO. When a FIFO underflow
condition occurs, incorrect data will be driven out on the
LCDC data pins.

Software should poll the FUF bit field in the LCD_STAT register
to check if an error condition has occurred or service the
interrupt if FUF_EN is enabled when FUF occurs. If the FUF bit
field has been set to 1, this will indicate an underflow
condition has occurred and then the software should execute a
reset of the LCDC via the LPSC.

This problem may occur if the LCDC FIFO threshold size
(LCDDMA_CTRL[TH_FIFO_READY]) is left at its default value after
reset. Increasing the FIFO threshold size will reduce or
eliminate underflows. Setting the threshold size to 256 double
words or larger is recommended.

bd5a7b11a0 OMAPDSS: DSI: Fix HSYNC, VSYNC and DE polarities between DISPC and DSI
For DSI operation in videomode, DISPC logic levels for the signals HSYNC, VSYNC
and DE need to be specified to DSI via the fields VP_HSYNC_POL, VP_VSYNC_POL and
VP_DE_POL in DSI_CTRL registers.

This information is completely internal to DSS as logic levels for the above
signals hold no meaning on the DSI bus. Hence a DSI panel driver should be
totally oblivious of these fields.

Fix the logic levels/polarities in the DISPC and DSI registers to a default
value. This is done by overriding these fields in omap_video_timings struct
filled by the panel driver for DISPC, and use the equivalent default values
when programming DSI_CTRL registers. Also, remove the redundant polarity related
fields in omap_dss_dsi_videomode_data.

a8d5e41cef OMAPDSS: Add some new fields to omap_video_timings
Some panel timing related fields are contained in omap_panel_config in the form
of flags. The fields are:

- Hsync logic level
- Vsync logic level
- Data driven on rising/falling edge of pixel clock
- Output enable/Data enable logic level
- HSYNC/VSYNC driven on rising/falling edge of pixel clock

Out of these parameters, Hsync and Vsync logic levels are a part of the timings
in the Xorg modeline configuration. So it makes sense to move the to
omap_video_timings. The rest aren't a part of modeline, but it still makes
sense to move these since they are related to panel timings.

These fields stored in omap_panel_config in dssdev are configured for LCD
panels, and the corresponding LCD managers in the DISPC_POL_FREQo registers.

Add the above fields in omap_video_timings. Represent their state via new enums.

Add these parameters to the omap_video_timings instances in the panel drivers.
Keep the corresponding IVS, IHS, IPC, IEO, RF and ONOFF flags in
omap_panel_config for now. The struct will be removed later.

e86d456a23 OMAPDSS: Add LCD3 overlay manager and Clock and IRQ support
The support for LCD3 manager has been added into the manager module. LCD3 panel
has registers as DISPC_CONTROL3 and DISPC_CONFIG3 just like those in LCD and
LCD2 panels. These registers control the Display Controller (DISPC) module for
LCD3 output. The three LCDs support Display Serial Interface (DSI), Remote Frame
Buffer Interface (RFBI) and Parallel CMOS Output Interface (DPI). These LCDs can
be connected through parallel output interface using DISPC and RFBI or DPI. For
serial interface DSS uses DSI.

The LCD3 panel, just like LCD and LCD2 panels, has a clock switch in DSS_CTRL
register which has been enabled. The clock switch chooses between DSS_CLK and
DPLL_DSI1_C_CLK1 as source for LCD3_CLK. New IRQs as DISPC_IRQ_VSYNC3,
DISPC_IRQ_FRAMEDONE3, DISPC_IRQ_ACBIAS_COUNT_STAT3 and DISPC_IRQ_SYNC_LOST3 have
been added specific to the new manager.

65e006ff4b OMAPDSS: DISPC: Support rotation through TILER
TILER is a block in OMAP4's DMM which lets DSS fetch frames in a rotated manner.
Physical memory can be mapped to a portion of OMAP's system address space called
TILER address space. The TILER address space is split into 8 views. Each view
represents a rotated or mirrored form of the mapped physical memory. When a
DISPC overlay's base address is programmed to one of these views, the TILER
fetches the pixels according to the orientation of the view. A view is further
split into 4 containers, each container holds elements of a particular size.
Rotation can be achieved at the granularity of elements in the container. For
more information on TILER, refer to the Memory Subsytem section in OMAP4 TRM.
Rotation type TILER has been added which is used to exploit the capabilities of
these 8 views for performing various rotations.

When fetching from addresses mapped to TILER space, the DISPC DMA can fetch
pixels in either 1D or 2D bursts. The fetch depends on which TILER container we
are accessing. Accessing 8, 16 and 32 bit sized containers requires 2D bursts,
and page mode sized containers require 1D bursts.

The DSS2 user is expected to provide the Tiler address of the view that it is
interested in. This is passed to the paddr and p_uv_addr parameters in
omap_overlay_info. It is also expected to provide the stride value based on the
view's orientation and container type, this should be passed to the screen_width
parameter of omap_overlay_info. In calc_tiler_rotation_offset screen_width is
used to calculate the required row_inc for DISPC. x_predecim and y_predecim are
also used to calculate row_inc and pix_inc thereby adding predecimation support
for TILER.

9c0b842036 OMAPDSS: Provide an interface for audio support
There exist several display technologies and standards that support audio as
well. Hence, it is relevant to update the DSS device driver to provide an audio
interface that may be used by an audio driver or any other driver interested in
the functionality.

The audio_enable function is intended to prepare the relevant
IP for playback (e.g., enabling an audio FIFO, taking in/out of reset
some IP, enabling companion chips, etc). It is intended to be called before
audio_start. The audio_disable function performs the reverse operation and is
intended to be called after audio_stop.

While a given DSS device driver may support audio, it is possible that for
certain configurations audio is not supported (e.g., an HDMI display using a
VESA video timing). The audio_supported function is intended to query whether
the current configuration of the display supports audio.

The audio_config function is intended to configure all the relevant audio
parameters of the display. In order to make the function independent of any
specific DSS device driver, a struct omap_dss_audio is defined. Its purpose
is to contain all the required parameters for audio configuration. At the
moment, such structure contains pointers to IEC-60958 channel status word and
CEA-861 audio infoframe structures. This should be enough to support HDMI and
DisplayPort, as both are based on CEA-861 and IEC-60958. The omap_dss_audio
structure may be extended in the future if required.

The audio_enable/disable, audio_config and audio_supported functions could be
implemented as functions that may sleep. Hence, they should not be called
while holding a spinlock or a readlock.

The audio_start/audio_stop function is intended to effectively start/stop audio
playback after the configuration has taken place. These functions are designed
to be used in an atomic context. Hence, audio_start should return quickly and be
called only after all the needed resources for audio playback (audio FIFOs,
DMA channels, companion chips, etc) have been enabled to begin data transfers.
audio_stop is designed to only stop the audio transfers. The resources used
for playback are released using audio_disable.

A new enum omap_dss_audio_state is introduced to help the implementations of
the interface to keep track of the audio state. The initial state is _DISABLED;
then, the state transitions to _CONFIGURED, and then, when it is ready to
play audio, to _ENABLED. The state _PLAYING is used when the audio is being
rendered.

00928eaf52 OMAPDSS: clean up the omapdss platform data mess
The omapdss pdata handling is a mess. This is more evident when trying
to use device tree for DSS, as we don't have platform data anymore in
that case. This patch cleans the pdata handling by:

- Remove struct omap_display_platform_data. It was used just as a
  wrapper for struct omap_dss_board_info.
- Pass the platform data only to omapdss device. The drivers for omap
  dss hwmods do not need the platform data. This should also work better
  for DT, as we can create omapdss device programmatically in generic omap
  boot code, and thus we can pass the pdata to it.
- Create dss functions for get_ctx_loss_count and dsi_enable/disable_pads
  that the dss hwmod drivers can call.

e4a9e94cc5 OMAPDSS: DSI: implement generic DSI pin config
In preparation for device tree, this patch changes how the DSI pins are
configured. The current configuration method is only doable with board
files and the configuration data is OMAP specific.

This patch moves the configuration data to the panel's platform data,
and the data can easily be given via DT in the future. The configuration
data format is also changed to a generic one which should be suitable
for all platforms.

The new format is an array of pin numbers, where the array items start
from clock + and -, then data1 + and -, and so on. For example:

	2,	// pin num for data1 lane +
	3,	// pin num for data1 lane -
	...
}

The pin numbers are translated by the DSI driver and used to configure
the hardware appropriately.

For now, it just contains the hack for cirrusfb on Amiga, which is moved
out of <video/vga.h> with some slight modifications (use raw_*() instead of
z_*(), which are defined on all m68k platforms).

8f9c60f2e2 fbdev: sh_mipi_dsi: add extra phyctrl for sh_mipi_dsi_info
sh_mipi uses some clocks, but the method of setup depends on CPU.

Current SuperH (like sh73a0) can control all of these clocks
by CPG (Clock Pulse Generator).
It means we can control it by clock framework only.
But on sh7372, it needs CPG settings AND sh_mipi PHYCTRL::PLLDS,
and only sh7372 has PHYCTRL::PLLDS.

But on current sh_mipi driver, PHYCTRL::PLLDS of sh7372 was
overwrote since the callback timing of clock setting was changed
by c2658b70f0
(fbdev: sh_mipi_dsi: fixup setup timing of sh_mipi_setup()).
To solve this issue, this patch adds extra .phyctrl.

This patch adds detail explanation for unclear mipi settings
and fixup wrong PHYCTRL::PLLDS value for ap4evb (0xb -> 0x6).

cdf88b9072 fbdev: sh_mobile_meram: Remove unneeded sanity checks
The meram_register(), meram_unregister() and meram_update() operations
check that the pointers they get from the caller are not NULL. Those
checks can be remove, as the caller already ensures that the pointers
are valid.

The platform sanity checks can also be removed, as the operations can't
be accessed without valid platform data anyway.
