f696a21c22 ptp: replace getnstimeofday64() with ktime_get_real_ts64()
getnstimeofday64() is deprecated and getting replaced throughout
the kernel with ktime_get_*() based helpers for a more consistent
interface.

The two functions do the exact same thing, so this is just
a cosmetic change.

ceefc71d4c ptp: rework gianfar_ptp as QorIQ common PTP driver
gianfar_ptp was the PTP clock driver for 1588 timer
module of Freescale QorIQ eTSEC (Enhanced Three-Speed
Ethernet Controllers) platforms. Actually QorIQ DPAA
(Data Path Acceleration Architecture) platforms is
also using the same 1588 timer module in hardware.

This patch is to rework gianfar_ptp as QorIQ common
PTP driver to support both DPAA and eTSEC. Moved
gianfar_ptp.c to drivers/ptp/, renamed it as
ptp_qoriq.c, and renamed many variables. There were
not any function changes.

a9a08845e9 vfs: do bulk POLL* -> EPOLL* replacement
This is the mindless scripted replacement of kernel use of POLL*
variables as described by Al, done by this script:

for V in IN OUT PRI ERR RDNORM RDBAND WRNORM WRBAND HUP RDHUP NVAL MSG; do
        L=`git grep -l -w POLL$V | grep -v '^t' | grep -v /um/ | grep -v '^sa' | grep -v '/poll.h$'|grep -v '^D'`
        for f in $L; do sed -i "-es/^\([^\"]*\)\(\<POLL$V\>\)/\\1E\\2/" $f; done
    done

with de-mangling cleanups yet to come.

NOTE! On almost all architectures, the EPOLL* constants have the same
values as the POLL* constants do. But they keyword here is "almost".
For various bad reasons they aren't the same, and epoll() doesn't
actually work quite correctly in some cases due to this on Sparc et al.

The next patch from Al will sort out the final differences, and we
should be all done.

9f08890ab9 x86/pvclock: add setter for pvclock_pvti_cpu0_va
Right now there is only a pvclock_pvti_cpu0_va() which is defined
on kvmclock since:

commit dac16fba6f
("x86/vdso: Get pvclock data from the vvar VMA instead of the fixmap")

The only user of this interface so far is kvm. This commit adds a
setter function for the pvti page and moves pvclock_pvti_cpu0_va
to pvclock, which is a more generic place to have it; and would
allow other PV clocksources to use it, such as Xen.

While moving pvclock_pvti_cpu0_va into pvclock, rename also this
function to pvclock_get_pvti_cpu0_va (including its call sites)
to be symmetric with the setter (pvclock_set_pvti_cpu0_va).

001f60e1f6 ptp_kvm: probe for kvm guest availability
In the event of moving pvclock_pvti_cpu0_va() definition to common
pvclock code, this function would return a value on non KVM guests.
Later on this would fail with a GPF on ptp_kvm_init when running on a

b24413180f License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.

By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.

Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.

This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.

How this work was done:

Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
 - file had no licensing information it it.
 - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
 - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,

Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.

The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.

The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
 - Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
 - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
   lines of source
 - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
   lines).

All documentation files were explicitly excluded.

The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.

 - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
   COPYING file license applied.

For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|-------
   GPL-2.0 11139

and resulted in the first patch in this series.

If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH
Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|-------
   GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930

and resulted in the second patch in this series.

 - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
it (per prior point). Results summary:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|------
   GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270
   GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17
   LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15
   GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14
   ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5
   LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4
   LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1

and that resulted in the third patch in this series.

 - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
   the concluded license(s).

 - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.

 - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).

 - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
   in time.

In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.

Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.

In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.

Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
 - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
   license ids and scores
 - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
 - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
   SPDX license was correct

This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.

These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

d9535cb7b7 ptp: introduce ptp auxiliary worker
Many PTP drivers required to perform some asynchronous or periodic work,
like periodically handling PHC counter overflow or handle delayed timestamp
for RX/TX network packets. In most of the cases, such work is implemented
using workqueues. Unfortunately, Kernel workqueues might introduce
significant delay in work scheduling under high system load and on -RT,
which could cause misbehavior of PTP drivers due to internal counter
overflow, for example, and there is no way to tune its execution policy and
priority manuallly.

Hence, The kthread_worker can be used insted of workqueues, as it create
separte named kthread for each worker and its its execution policy and
priority can be configured using chrt tool.

This prblem was reported for two drivers TI CPSW CPTS and dp83640, so
instead of modifying each of these driver it was proposed to add PTP
auxiliary worker to the PHC subsystem.

The patch adds PTP auxiliary worker in PHC subsystem using kthread_worker
and kthread_delayed_work and introduces two new PHC subsystem APIs:

- long (*do_aux_work)(struct ptp_clock_info *ptp) callback in
ptp_clock_info structure, which driver should assign if it require to
perform asynchronous or periodic work. Driver should return the delay of
the PTP next auxiliary work scheduling time (>=0) or negative value in case
further scheduling is not required.

- int ptp_schedule_worker(struct ptp_clock *ptp, unsigned long delay) which
allows schedule PTP auxiliary work.

The name of kthread_worker thread corresponds PTP PHC device name "ptp%d".

d340266e19 time: Change posix clocks ops interfaces to use timespec64
struct timespec is not y2038 safe on 32 bit machines.

The posix clocks apis use struct timespec directly and through struct
itimerspec.

Replace the posix clock interfaces to use struct timespec64 and struct
itimerspec64 instead. Also fix up their implementations accordingly.

Note that the clock_getres() interface has also been changed to use
timespec64 even though this particular interface is not affected by the
y2038 problem. This helps verification for internal kernel code for y2038
readiness by getting rid of time_t/ timeval/ timespec.

Pull KVM updates from Paolo Bonzini:
"4.11 is going to be a relatively large release for KVM, with a little
over 200 commits and noteworthy changes for most architectures.

  ARM:
   - GICv3 save/restore
   - cache flushing fixes
   - working MSI injection for GICv3 ITS
   - physical timer emulation

  MIPS:
   - various improvements under the hood
   - support for SMP guests
   - a large rewrite of MMU emulation. KVM MIPS can now use MMU
notifiers to support copy-on-write, KSM, idle page tracking,
swapping, ballooning and everything else. KVM_CAP_READONLY_MEM is
also supported, so that writes to some memory regions can be
treated as MMIO. The new MMU also paves the way for hardware
     virtualization support.

  PPC:
   - support for POWER9 using the radix-tree MMU for host and guest
   - resizable hashed page table
   - bugfixes.

  s390:
   - expose more features to the guest
   - more SIMD extensions
   - instruction execution protection
   - ESOP2

  x86:
   - improved hashing in the MMU
   - faster PageLRU tracking for Intel CPUs without EPT A/D bits
   - some refactoring of nested VMX entry/exit code, preparing for live
     migration support of nested hypervisors
   - expose yet another AVX512 CPUID bit
   - host-to-guest PTP support
   - refactoring of interrupt injection, with some optimizations thrown
in and some duct tape removed.
   - remove lazy FPU handling
   - optimizations of user-mode exits
   - optimizations of vcpu_is_preempted() for KVM guests

  generic:
   - alternative signaling mechanism that doesn't pound on
     tsk->sighand->siglock"

baa73d9e47 posix-timers: Make them configurable
Some embedded systems have no use for them. This removes about
25KB from the kernel binary size when configured out.

Corresponding syscalls are routed to a stub logging the attempt to
use those syscalls which should be enough of a clue if they were
disabled without proper consideration. They are: timer_create,
timer_gettime: timer_getoverrun, timer_settime, timer_delete,
clock_adjtime, setitimer, getitimer, alarm.

The clock_settime, clock_gettime, clock_getres and clock_nanosleep
syscalls are replaced by simple wrappers compatible with CLOCK_REALTIME,
CLOCK_MONOTONIC and CLOCK_BOOTTIME only which should cover the vast
majority of use cases with very little code.

d1cbfd771c ptp_clock: Allow for it to be optional
In order to break the hard dependency between the PTP clock subsystem and
ethernet drivers capable of being clock providers, this patch provides
simple PTP stub functions to allow linkage of those drivers into the
kernel even when the PTP subsystem is configured out. Drivers must be
ready to accept NULL from ptp_clock_register() in that case.

And to make it possible for PTP to be configured out, the select statement
in those driver's Kconfig menu entries is converted to the new "imply"
statement. This way the PTP subsystem may have Kconfig dependencies of
its own, such as POSIX_TIMERS, without having to make those ethernet
drivers unavailable if POSIX timers are cconfigured out. And when support
for POSIX timers is selected again then the default config option for PTP
clock support will automatically be adjusted accordingly.

The pch_gbe driver is a bit special as it relies on extra code in
drivers/ptp/ptp_pch.c. Therefore we let the make process descend into
drivers/ptp/ even if PTP_1588_CLOCK is unselected.

d8d2635419 ptp: Introduce a high resolution frequency adjustment method.
The internal PTP Hardware Clock (PHC) interface limits the resolution for
frequency adjustments to one part per billion. However, some hardware
devices allow finer adjustment, and making use of the increased resolution
improves synchronization measurably on such devices.

This patch adds an alternative method that allows finer frequency tuning
by passing the scaled ppm value to PHC drivers. This value comes from
user space, and it has a resolution of about 0.015 ppb. We also deprecate
the older method, anticipating its removal once existing drivers have been
converted over.

719f1aa4a6 ptp: Add PTP_SYS_OFFSET_PRECISE for driver crosstimestamping
Currently, network /system cross-timestamping is performed in the
PTP_SYS_OFFSET ioctl. The PTP clock driver reads gettimeofday() and
the gettime64() callback provided by the driver. The cross-timestamp
is best effort where the latency between the capture of system time
(getnstimeofday()) and the device time (driver callback) may be
significant.

The getcrosststamp() callback and corresponding PTP_SYS_OFFSET_PRECISE
ioctl allows the driver to perform this device/system correlation when
for example cross timestamp hardware is available. Modern Intel
systems can do this for onboard Ethernet controllers using the ART
counter. There is virtually zero latency between captures of the ART
and network device clock.

The capabilities ioctl (PTP_CLOCK_GETCAPS), is augmented allowing
applications to query whether or not drivers implement the
getcrosststamp callback, providing more precise cross timestamping.

5f013c9bc7 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Conflicts:
	drivers/net/ethernet/altera/altera_sgdma.c
	net/netlink/af_netlink.c
	net/sched/cls_api.c
	net/sched/sch_api.c

The netlink conflict dealt with moving to netlink_capable() and
netlink_ns_capable() in the 'net' tree vs. supporting 'tc' operations
in non-init namespaces. These were simple transformations from
netlink_capable to netlink_ns_capable.

The Altera driver conflict was simply code removal overlapping some
void pointer cast cleanups in net-next.

1a466ae96e ptp: fix kconfig dependency warnings
Fix kconfig warnings:

PTP_1588_CLOCK selects NET_PTP_CLASSIFY, which depends on NET,
so PTP_1588_CLOCK should also depend on NET.

PTP_1588_CLOCK_PCH selects PTP_1588_CLOCK so the former should
depend on NET.

warning: (IXP4XX_ETH && PTP_1588_CLOCK) selects NET_PTP_CLASSIFY which has unmet direct dependencies (NET)

warning: (SFC && TILE_NET && BFIN_MAC_USE_HWSTAMP && TIGON3 && FEC && E1000E && IGB && IXGBE && I40E && MLX4_EN && SXGBE_ETH && STMMAC_ETH && TI_CPTS && PTP_1588_CLOCK_GIANFAR && PTP_1588_CLOCK_IXP46X && DP83640_PHY && PTP_1588_CLOCK_PCH) selects PTP_1588_CLOCK which has unmet direct dependencies (NET)
[This warning is caused by the new 'depends on NET' in PTP_1588_CLOCK.]

d39a743511 ptp: validate the requested frequency adjustment.
PTP Hardware Clock drivers specify a maximum frequency adjustment that
their clocks can accommodate. Normally, user space programs will want to
respect the advertised limits. However, no kernel or driver code checks
that the dialed frequency offset is within the bounds, and out of range
values can lead to surprising results.

This patch fixes the issue by rejecting bad values.

408eccce32 net: ptp: move PTP classifier in its own file
This commit fixes a build error reported by Fengguang, that is
triggered when CONFIG_NETWORK_PHY_TIMESTAMPING is not set:

  ERROR: "ptp_classify_raw" [drivers/net/ethernet/oki-semi/pch_gbe/pch_gbe.ko] undefined!

The fix is to introduce its own file for the PTP BPF classifier,
so that PTP_1588_CLOCK and/or NETWORK_PHY_TIMESTAMPING can select
it independently from each other. IXP4xx driver on ARM needs to
select it as well since it does not seem to select PTP_1588_CLOCK
or similar that would pull it in automatically.

This also allows for hiding all of the internals of the BPF PTP
program inside that file, and only exporting relevant API bits
to drivers.

This patch also adds a kdoc documentation of ptp_classify_raw()
API to make it clear that it can return PTP_CLASS_* defines. Also,
the BPF program has been translated into bpf_asm code, so that it
can be more easily read and altered (extensively documented in [1]).

In the kernel tree under tools/net/ we have bpf_asm and bpf_dbg
tools, so the commented program can simply be translated via
`./bpf_asm -c prog` where prog is a file that contains the
commented code. This makes it easily readable/verifiable and when
there's a need to change something, jump offsets etc do not need
to be replaced manually which can be very error prone. Instead,
a newly translated version via bpf_asm can simply replace the old
code. I have checked opcode diffs before/after and it's the very
same filter.

4986b4f008 ptp: drivers: set the number of programmable pins.
This patch updates the many PTP Hardware Clock drivers with the
newly introduced field that advertises the number of programmable
pins. Some of these devices do have programmable pins, but the
implementation will have to wait for follow on patches.
