2042c1c4e7 [AVR32] Implement more at32_add_device_foo() functions
Implement functions for adding platform devices for TWI, MCI, AC97C
and ABDAC. They may need to be modified to cope with platform data,
etc. when the corresponding drivers are ready to be merged, but such
changes are much less likely to conflict than adding support for a
whole new type of device.

Because of compile errors that may occur after bit changes if asm/bitops.h is
included directly without e.g.  linux/kernel.h which includes linux/bitops.h,

622a9edd91 Remove dma_cache_(wback|inv|wback_inv) functions
dma_cache_(wback|inv|wback_inv) were the earliest attempt on a generalized
cache managment API for I/O purposes.  Originally it was basically the raw
MIPS low level cache API exported to the entire world.  The API has
suffered from a lack of documentation, was not very widely used unlike it's
more modern brothers and can easily be replaced by dma_cache_sync.  So
remove it rsp.  turn the surviving bits back into an arch private API, as
discussed on linux-arch.

68a9bd0cd5 remove strict ansi check from __u64 in asm/types.h
Remove the __STRICT_ANSI__ check from the __u64/__s64 declaration on
32bit targets.

GCC can be made to warn about usage of long long types with ISO C90
(-ansi), but only with -pedantic.  You can write this in a way that even
then it doesn't cause warnings, namely by:

#ifdef __GNUC__
__extension__ typedef __signed__ long long __s64;
__extension__ typedef unsigned long long __u64;
#endif

The __extension__ keyword in front of this switches off any pedantic
warnings for this expression.

04fc8bbcf5 kill DECLARE_MUTEX_LOCKED
DECLARE_MUTEX_LOCKED was used for semaphores used as completions and we've
got rid of them.  Well, except for one in libusual that the maintainer
explicitly wants to keep as semaphore.  So convert that useage to an
explicit sema_init and kill of DECLARE_MUTEX_LOCKED so that new code is
reminded to use a completion.

f438d914b2 kprobes: support kretprobe blacklist
Introduce architecture dependent kretprobe blacklists to prohibit users
from inserting return probes on the function in which kprobes can be
inserted but kretprobes can not.

This patch also removes "__kprobes" mark from "__switch_to" on x86_64 and
registers "__switch_to" to the blacklist on x86-64, because that mark is to
prohibit user from inserting only kretprobe.

74a0b57627 x86: optimize page faults like all other achitectures and kill notifier cruft
x86(-64) are the last architectures still using the page fault notifier
cruft for the kprobes page fault hook.  This patch converts them to the
proper direct calls, and removes the now unused pagefault notifier bits
aswell as the cruft in kprobes.c that was related to this mess.

I know Andi didn't really like this, but all other architecture maintainers
agreed the direct calls are much better and besides the obvious cruft
removal a common way of dealing with kprobes across architectures is
important aswell.

bb7aa6d47f [AVR32] Don't use __builtin_xchg()
The implementation of __builtin_xchg() in at least some versions of
avr32 gcc is buggy. Rather than find out exactly which versions that
have this bug, let's just avoid the problem altogether by implementing
xchg() in inline assembly.

Also, in most architectures, xchg() seems to imply a memory barrier,
while the existing avr32 implementation did not. This patch also fixes
that discrepancy.

af8184718a [AVR32] SMC configuration in clock cycles
This patch makes the SMC configuration take timings in clock cycles
instead of nanoseconds. A function to calculate timings in clock
cycles is added.

This patch removes the rounding troubles of the previous SMC
configuration method.

b5a8e7362a [AVR32] Make dma_sync_*_for_cpu no-ops
I don't think the dma_sync_*_for_cpu ever did anything useful. We
flush the relevant cache lines when mapping the buffer or when calling
dma_sync_*_for_device(), and the CPU isn't allowed to touch the buffer
after that.

In other words, if these functions actually have anything to flush
from the caches, we're already in trouble.

cca67164bb [AVR32] Define mmiowb()
Add empty definition of mmiowb() since some drivers need it. Uncached
writes are strongly ordered on AVR32. They may be delayed if the
dcache is busy doing a writeback, but AFAICT that's not what this
macro is supposed to deal with, at least on UP systems.

We might have to revisit this definition when a SMP-capable AVR32 CPU
comes along, depending on how the busses and cache coherency stuff
end up being implemented.

6f834197a7 [AVR32] Fix bogus pte_page() definition
The current definition of pte_page() masks out valid bits from the
physical address, causing vmalloc_to_page() to misbehave. This may
lead to everything from mmap() silently accessing the wrong data to
"invalid pte" errors dumped by the kernel.

Also remove the now-unused definition of PTE_PHYS_MASK.

Thanks to Matteo Vit for discovering this bug.

There's really no need to retry an allocation with __GFP_REPEAT set.
Also, use get_zeroed_page() and __GFP_ZERO to eliminate the extra call
to clear_page() afterwards.

b111757c50 arch: personality independent stack top
New arch macro STACK_TOP_MAX it gives the larges valid stack address for the
architecture in question.

It differs from STACK_TOP in that it will not distinguish between
personalities but will always return the largest possible address.

This is used to create the initial stack on execve, which we will move down to
the proper location once the binfmt code has figured out where that is.

3da86ee4f1 [AVR32] Fix atomic_add_unless() and atomic_sub_unless()
These functions depend on "result" being initalized to 0, but "result"
is not included as an input constraint to the inline assembly block
following its initialization, only as an output constraint. Thus gcc
thinks it doesn't need to initialize it, so result ends up undefined
if the "unless" condition is true.

This fixes an oops in sunrpc where the faulty atomics caused
rpciod_up() to not start the workqueue as it should.

e122eaf694 [AVR32] Remove optimization of unaligned word loads
If we let unaligned word loads bypass the generic unaligned handling,
gcc may combine it with a swap.b instruction and turn it into a ldwsp
instruction, which does not work with unaligned addresses.

Revert the optimization to prevent the RNDIS driver from crashing.
Hopefully we'll figure something out later (it may be better to do the
optimization in gcc.)

7a5b805907 [AVR32] Split SM device into PM, RTC, WDT and EIC
Split the SM platform device into separate platform devices for PM,
RTC, WDT and EIC. This is more correct according to the documentation
and allows us to simplify the code a little.

Also turn the EIC driver into a real platform driver.

c6083cd61b [AVR32] faster avr32 unaligned access
Use a more conventional implementation for unaligned access, and include
an AT32AP-specific optimization:  the CPU will handle unaligned words.

The result is always faster and smaller for 8, 16, and 32 bit values.
For 64 bit quantities, it's presumably larger.

return a nonzero value if the device is the primary display.

Currently, only the i386 is supported where the function checks for the
IORESOURCE_ROM_SHADOW flag.

4eb6bf6bfb lots-of-architectures: enable arbitary speed tty support
Add the termios2 structure ready for enabling on most platforms.  One or
two like Sparc are plain weird so have been left alone.  Most can use the
same structure as ktermios for termios2 (ie the newer ioctl uses the
structure matching the current kernel structure)

d0a2b7af27 [AVR32] Implement platform hooks for atmel_lcdfb driver
This modifies and extends the existing lcdc platform code to support
the new atmel_lcdfb driver. The ATSTK1000 board code is set up to use
the on-board Samsung LTV350QV LCD panel.

9caebec7b8 [AVR32] optimize pagefault path
Avoid the costly notifier list in the pagefault path and call
the kprobes code directly.  The same change went into the 2.6.22
cycle for powerpc, 2s390 and sparc64 already.

e7498281d3 Use common cpu_is_xxx() macros on AT91 and AVR32
Several drivers shared between AT91 and AVR32 chips use cpu_is_xxx()
to handle CPU-specific differences. Currently, such code needs to be
inside #ifdef CONFIG_ARCH_AT91 because the macros don't exist on AVR32.

By defining the same macros on both AT91 and AVR32, these #ifdefs can
be eliminated. Since the macros will evaluate to a constant value for
CPUs that aren't supported by the current architecture, any code that
is only needed on AT91 will be optimized away on AVR32 and vice versa.

Rename .taglist to .taglist.init to silence section mismatch warnings.
The .taglist.init section was already placed in the .init output
section along with .init.text, so the warning didn't indicate any real

0bb5e19d63 Clean up mostly unused IOSPACE macros
Most architectures defined three macros, MK_IOSPACE_PFN(), GET_IOSPACE()
and GET_PFN() in pgtable.h.  However, the only callers of any of these
macros are in Sparc specific code, either in arch/sparc, arch/sparc64 or
drivers/sbus.

This patch removes the redundant macros from all architectures except
sparc and sparc64.

1eeb66a1bb move die notifier handling to common code
This patch moves the die notifier handling to common code.  Previous
various architectures had exactly the same code for it.  Note that the new
code is compiled unconditionally, this should be understood as an appel to
the other architecture maintainer to implement support for it aswell (aka
sprinkling a notify_die or two in the proper place)

arm had a notifiy_die that did something totally different, I renamed it to
arm_notify_die as part of the patch and made it static to the file it's
declared and used at.  avr32 used to pass slightly less information through
this interface and I brought it into line with the other architectures.
