Since commit 97ad2bdcbe ("ARM/PCI: Convert PCI scan API to
pci_scan_root_bus_bridge()") the space for struct pci_sys_data is allocated
by pci_alloc_host_bridge() as part of the struct pci_host_bridge.
Therefore, failure paths must deallocate the entire pci_host_bridge by
using pci_free_host_bridge().

Legacy PCI host controllers (ie host controllers that set-up the PCI bus
through the ARM pci_common_init() API) are currently relying on
pci_fixup_irqs() to assign legacy PCI irqs to devices. This is not ideal
in that pci_fixup_irqs() assigns IRQs for all PCI devices present in a given
system some of which may well be enabled by the time pci_fixup_irqs() is
called (ie a system with multiple host controllers). With the introduction
of struct pci_host_bridge.(*map_irq) pointer it is possible to assign IRQs
for all devices originating from a PCI host bridge at probe time; this is
implemented through pci_assign_irq() that relies on the struct
pci_host_bridge.map_irq pointer to map IRQ for a given device.
The benefits this brings are twofold:
- the IRQ for a device is assigned once at probe time
- the IRQ assignment works also for hotplugged devices
Remove pci_fixup_irqs() call from bios32 code and rely on pci_assign_irq()
to carry out the IRQ mapping at device probe time.
The map_irq() and swizzle_irq() struct pci_host_bridge callbacks are set-up
in the struct pci_host_bridge created in the bios32 pcibios_init_hw()
function and mach-* code paths (for PCI mach implementations that require a
specific struct hw_pci.(*scan) function callback).

The introduction of pci_scan_root_bus_bridge() provides a PCI core API to
scan a PCI root bus backed by an already initialized struct pci_host_bridge
object, which simplifies the bus scan interface and makes the PCI scan root
bus interface easier to generalize as members are added to the struct
pci_host_bridge.
Convert ARM bios32 code to pci_scan_root_bus_bridge() to improve the PCI

On systems with PCI_PROBE_ONLY set, we rely on BAR assignments from
firmware. Previously we did not insert those resources into the resource
tree, so we had to skip pci_enable_resources() because it fails if
resources are not in the resource tree.
Now that we *do* insert resources even when PCI_PROBE_ONLY is set, we no
longer need the ARM-specific pcibios_enable_device(). Remove it so we
use the generic version.

We claim PCI BAR and bridge window resources in pci_bus_assign_resources(),
but when PCI_PROBE_ONLY is set, we treat those resources as immutable and
don't call pci_bus_assign_resources(), so the resources aren't put in the
resource tree.
When the resources aren't in the tree, they don't show up in /proc/iomem,
we can't detect conflicts, and we need special cases elsewhere for
PCI_PROBE_ONLY or resources without a parent pointer.
Claim all PCI BAR and window resources in the PCI_PROBE_ONLY case.
If a PCI_PROBE_ONLY platform assigns conflicting resources, Linux can't fix
the conflicts. Previously we didn't notice the conflicts, but now we will,
which may expose new failures.

For callers of pci_common_init_dev(), we previously always required a PCI
I/O port resource. If the caller's ->setup() function had added an I/O
resource, we used that; otherwise, we added a default 64K I/O port space
for it.
There are PCI host bridges that do not support I/O port space, and we
should not add fictitious spaces for them.
If a caller sets struct hw_pci.io_optional, assume it is responsible for
adding any I/O port resource it desires, and do not add any default I/O
port space.

According to kernel documentation, the pci=firmware command line
parameter is only meant to be used on IXP2000 ARM platforms to prevent
the kernel from assigning PCI resources configured by the bootloader.
Since the IXP2000 ARM platforms support has been removed from the
kernel in commit:
commit c65f2abf54 ("ARM: remove ixp23xx and ixp2000 platforms")
its platforms specific kernel parameters should be removed
too from the kernel documentation along with the kernel code
currently handling them in that they have just become obsolete.
This patch removes the pci=firmware command line parameter handling
from ARM code and the related kernel parameters documentation

Commit b3a72384fe ("ARM/PCI: Replace pci_sys_data->align_resource with

dw_pcie_host_init() creates the PCI host bridge with pci_common_init_dev(),
an ARM-specific function that supplies the ARM-specific pci_sys_data
structure as the PCI "sysdata". To use dw_pcie_host_init() on other
architectures, we will copy the internals of pci_common_init_dev() into
pcie-designware.c instead of calling it, and dw_pcie_host_init() will
supply the DesignWare pcie_port structure as "sysdata".
Most ARM "sysdata" users are specific to non-DesignWare host bridges;
they'll be unaffected because those bridges will continue to have the ARM
pci_sys_data. Most of the rest are ARM-generic functions called by
pci_common_init_dev(); these will be unaffected because dw_pcie_host_init()
will no longer call pci_common_init().
But the ARM pcibios_align_resource() can be called by the PCI core for any
bridge, so it can't depend on sysdata since it may be either pci_sys_data
or pcie_port.
Remove the pcibios_align_resource() dependency on sysdata by replacing the
pci_sys_data->align_resource pointer with a global function pointer.
This is less general (we can no longer have per-host bridge
align_resource() methods), but the pci_sys_data->align_resource pointer was
used only by Marvell (see mvebu_pcie_enable()), so this would only be a
problem if we had a system with a combination of Marvell and other host
bridges

ARM previously stored the msi_controller pointer in its sysdata, struct
pci_sys_data, and implemented pcibios_msi_controller() to retrieve it.
That made PCI host controller drivers specific to ARM because they had to
put the msi_controller pointer in the ARM-specific pci_sys_data.
There is now a generic mechanism, pci_scan_root_bus_msi(), for giving the
msi_controller pointer to the PCI core. Use this for all ARM systems and
for the DesignWare and Xilinx PCI host controller drivers.
This removes an ARM dependency from the DesignWare, DRA7xx, EXYNOS, i.MX6,

The pci_mmap_page_range() API should be written to expect offset
values representing PCI memory resource addresses as seen by user
space, through the pci_resource_to_user() API.
ARM relies on the standard implementation of pci_resource_to_user()
which actually is an identity map and exports to user space
PCI memory resources as they are stored in PCI devices resources
structures, which represent CPU physical addresses (fixed-up using
BUS to CPU address conversions) not PCI bus addresses.
Therefore, on ARM platforms where the mapping between CPU and BUS
address is not a 1:1 the current pci_mmap_page_range() implementation is
erroneous, in that an additional shift is applied to an already fixed-up
offset passed from userspace.
Hence, this patch removes the mem_offset from the pgoff calculation
since the offset as passed from user space already represents the CPU
physical address corresponding to the resource to be mapped, ie no
additional offset should be applied.

Most if not all ARM PCI host controller device drivers either ignore the
domain field in the pci_sys_data structure or just increment it every time
a host controller is probed, using it as a domain counter.
Therefore, instead of relying on pci_sys_data to stash the domain number in
a standard location, ARM pcibios code can be moved to the newly introduced
generic PCI domains code, implemented in commits:
41e5c0f81d ("of/pci: Add pci_get_new_domain_nr() and of_get_pci_domain_nr()")
670ba0c888 ("PCI: Add generic domain handling")
ARM code is made to select PCI_DOMAINS_GENERIC by default, which builds
core PCI code that assigns the domain number through the generic function:
void pci_bus_assign_domain_nr(...)
that relies on a DT property to define the domain number or falls back to a
counter according to a predefined logic; its usage replaces the current
domain assignment code in PCI host controllers present in the kernel.

so remove the pointers from hw_pci. That makes pcibios_add_bus() and
pcibios_remove_bus() themselves superfluous, so remove them as well.

Currently ARM associates an MSI controller with a PCI bus by defining
pcibios_add_bus() and using it to call a struct hw_pci.add_bus() method.
That method sets the struct pci_bus "msi" member. That's unwieldy and
unnecessarily couples MSI with the PCI enumeration code.
On ARM, all devices under the same PCI host bridge share an MSI controller,
so add an msi_controller pointer to the struct pci_sys_data and implement
pcibios_msi_controller() to retrieve it.
This is a step toward moving the msi_controller pointer into the generic
struct pci_host_bridge.

Call pcie_bus_configure_settings() on ARM, like for other platforms.
pcie_bus_configure_settings() makes sure the MPS across the bus is uniform
and provides the ability to tune the MRSS and MPS to higher performance
values. This is particularly important for embedded where there is no
firmware to program these PCIe settings for the OS.

- Support for Cortex-A12 (run perf stat on your FPGA!)
- Support for perf_sample_event_took, allowing us to automatically decrease
the sample rate if we can't handle the PMU interrupts quickly enough

- Basic uprobes support from David Long:
This patch series adds basic uprobes support to ARM. It is based on
patches developed earlier by Rabin Vincent. That approach of adding
hooks into the kprobes instruction parsing code was not well received.
This approach separates the ARM instruction parsing code in kprobes out
into a separate set of functions which can be used by both kprobes and
uprobes. Both kprobes and uprobes then provide their own semantic action
tables to process the results of the parsing.
- ARMv7M (microcontroller) updates from Uwe Kleine-König
- OMAP DMA updates (recently added Vinod's Ack even though they've been
sitting in linux-next for a few months) to reduce the reliance of
omap-dma on the code in arch/arm.

This patch moves bios32 over to using the generic code for enabling PCI
resources. Since the core code takes care of bridge resources too, we
can also drop the explicit IO and MEMORY enabling for them in the arch
code.
A side-effect of this change is that we no longer explicitly enable
devices when running in PCI_PROBE_ONLY mode. This stays closer to the
meaning of the option and prevents us from trying to enable devices
without any assigned resources (the core code refuses to enable
resources without parents).

- Enablement of the mbus infrastructure from Marvell PCI-e drivers.
- Preparation of MSI support for Marvell platforms.
- Addition of new PCI-e host controller driver for Tegra platforms
- Some churn caused by sharing of macro names between i.MX 6Q and 6DL

- Versatile Express support for MCPM, part of big little support.
- Allwinner platform support for A20 and A31 SoCs (dual and quad Cortex-A7)
- OMAP2+ support for DRA7, a new Cortex-A15-based SoC.
The code that touches other architectures are patches moving

Some PCI drivers may need to adjust the pci_bus structure after it has
been allocated by the Linux PCI core. The PCI core allows
architectures to implement the pcibios_add_bus() and
pcibios_remove_bus() for this purpose. This commit therefore extends
the hw_pci and pci_sys_data structures of the ARM PCI core to allow
PCI drivers to register ->add_bus() and ->remove_bus() in hw_pci,
which will get called when a bus is added or removed from the system.
This will be used for example by the Marvell PCIe driver to connect a
particular PCI bus with its corresponding MSI chip to handle Message
Signaled Interrupts.

We currently enable PCI bridges after scanning a bus and assigning
resources. This is often done in arch code.
This patch changes this so we don't enable a bridge until necessary, i.e.,
until we enable a PCI device behind the bridge. We do this in the generic
pci_enable_device() path, so this also removes the arch-specific code to
enable bridges.

When working with device tree support for PCI on ARM you run
into a problem when mapping IRQs from the device tree irqmaps:
doing this the code in drivers/of/of_pci_irq.c will try to
find the OF node on the root bridge and this fails, because
bus->dev.of_node is NULL, and that in turn boils down to
the fact that pci_set_bus_of_node() has called
pcibios_get_phb_of_node() from drivers/pci/of.c to obtain
the OF node of the bridge or its parent and none is set
and thus NULL is returned.
Fix this by adding an additional parent argument API for
registering PCI bridges on the ARM architecture called
pci_common_init_dev(), and pass along this parent to
pci_scan_root_bus() called from pcibios_init_hw() in
bios32.c and voila: the IRQ mappings start working:
the OF node can be retrieved from the parent.
Create the old pci_common_init() as a wrapper around
the new call.

The PCI specifications says that an I/O region must be aligned on a 4
KB boundary, and a memory region aligned on a 1 MB boundary.
However, the Marvell PCIe interfaces rely on address decoding windows
(which allow to associate a range of physical addresses with a given
device). For PCIe memory windows, those windows are defined with a 1
MB granularity (which matches the PCI specs), but PCIe I/O windows can
only be defined with a 64 KB granularity, so they have to be 64 KB
aligned. We therefore need to tell the PCI core about this special
alignement requirement.
The PCI core already calls pcibios_align_resource() in the ARM PCI
core, specifically for such purposes. So this patch extends the ARM
PCI core so that it calls a ->align_resource() hook registered by the
PCI driver, exactly like the existing ->map_irq() and ->swizzle()
hooks.
A particular PCI driver can register a align_resource() hook, and do
its own specific alignement, depending on the specific constraints of
the underlying hardware.

This is the 2nd part of mach/io.h removals. This series removes io.h on
platforms with PCI by creating a fixed virtual I/O mapping and a common
__io() macro.
This version has changed a bit to accommodate Tegra converting its PCIe
host to a platform driver. Now the virtual space is only reserved during
early boot before .map_io() is called. The mapping is not created until
calling pci_ioremap_io which can be done at any point after vmalloc is
initialized.
I've gone back to fixed 64K windows for each PCI bus. This allows
removing all the i/o resource setup from the individually platforms and
placing it within the common ARM PCI code.
I've only tested versatilepb under qemu (with the model hacked up to
actually enable i/o space), so any testing is appreciated. iop3xx and
mv78xx0 have some risk of breaking as the PCI bus addresses are moved
to 0 from matching the cpu host bus addesss.

is used to align with PMD size, but IO_SPACE_LIMIT is 1MB. The space
is reserved after .map_io and can be mapped at any time later with
pci_ioremap_io. Platforms which need early i/o mapping (e.g. for vga

having each group of platforms provide a duplicated bus scan function,
provide the PCI configuration ops structure via the hw_pci structure,
and call the root bus scanning function from core ARM PCI code.

Most PCI implementations use the standard PCI swizzle function, which
handles the well defined behaviour of PCI-to-PCI bridges which can be
found on cards (eg, four port ethernet cards.)
Rather than having almost every platform specify the standard swizzle
function, make this the default when no swizzle function is supplied.
Therefore, a swizzle function only needs to be provided when there is
something exceptional which needs to be handled.
This gets rid of the swizzle initializer from 47 files, and leaves us
with just two platforms specifying a swizzle function: ARM Integrator
and Chalice CATS.
