5e857047ba dmaengine: rcar-dmac: initialize all data before registering IRQ handler
Anton Volkov noticed that engine->dev is NULL before
of_dma_controller_register() in probe.
Thus there might be a NULL pointer dereference in
rcar_dmac_chan_start_xfer while accessing chan->chan.device->dev which
is equal to (&dmac->engine)->dev.
On same reason, same and similar things will happen if we didn't
initialize all necessary data before calling register irq function.
To be more safety code, this patch initialize all necessary data
before calling register irq function.

56b177055a rcar-dmac: fixup descriptor pointer for descriptor mode
In descriptor mode, the descriptor running pointer is not maintained
by the interrupt handler, thus, driver finds the running descriptor
from the descriptor pointer field in the CHCRB register.
But, CHCRB::DPTR indicates *next* descriptor pointer, not current.
Thus, The residue calculation will be missed. This patch fixup it.

dc312349e8 dmaengine: rcar-dmac: Widen DMA mask to 40 bits
By default, the DMA mask covers only the low 32-bit address space, which
causes SWIOTLB on arm64 to fall back to a bounce buffer for DMA
transfers involving memory outside the 32-bit address space.

The R-Car DMA controller hardware supports a 40-bit address space, hence
widen the DMA mask to 40 bits to actually make use of this feature.

553911c67e dmaengine updates for 4.8-rc1
This is bit large pile of code which bring in some nice additions:
  - Error reporting: we have added a new mechanism for users of dmaenegine to
    register a callback_result which tells them the result of the dma
    transaction. Right now only one user ntb is using it.
  - As we discussed on KS mailing list and pointed out NO_IRQ has no place in
    kernel, this also remove NO_IRQ from dmaengine subsystem (both arm and
    ppc users)
  - Support for IOMMU slave transfers and it implementation for arm.
  - To get better build coverage, enable COMPILE_TEST for bunch of driver,
    and fix the warning and sparse complaints on these.
  - Apart from above, usual updates spread across drivers.

3565fe5333 dmaengine: rcar-dmac: use list_add() on rcar_dmac_desc_put()
For each descriptor, in addition to the memory used by the descriptors
structure itself, the driver allocates a list of chunks as well as a
buffer for hardware descriptors. Descriptors themselves are preallocated,
and allocation of the chunks and buffer is performed the first time the
descriptor is used. The memory isn't freed when the transfer is completed,
as the chunks and buffer will be needed again when the descriptor is
reused internally, so the driver keeps the memory around.

If only a few descriptors are used concurrently, the current
list_add_tail() implementation will result in all preallocated descriptors
being used before going back to the first one, and will thus allocate
chunks and a buffer for all preallocated descriptors. Using list_add()
will put the complete descriptor at the head of the list of available
descriptors, so the next transfer will be more likely to reuse a
descriptor that already has associated memory instead of one that has
never been used before.

As of commit 4baadb9e05 ("ARM: shmobile: r8a7778: remove obsolete

In theory it could still be used on R-Car Gen1 SoCs, but that requires
adding DT support to the driver, which is not planned.

Remove the driver, it can be resurrected from git history when needed.

This happens because usb_dmac_probe() calls pm_runtime_put() before
usb_dmac_chan_probe(), leading to the device being suspended before the
DMA channels are initialized, causing a NULL pointer dereference.

Move the call to pm_runtime_put() to the end of usb_dmac_probe() to fix
this.

Add a check to usb_dmac_runtime_suspend() to prevent the crash from
happening in the error path.

d23c9a0a5c dmaengine: rcar-dmac: fixup spinlock in rcar-dmac
Current rcar-dmac driver is using spin_lock_irq() / spin_unlock_irq()
in some functions. But, some other driver might call DMAEngine API
during interrupt disabled. In such case, rcar-dmac side spin_unlock_irq()
forcefully allows all interrupts. Therefore, other driver receives
unexpected interruption, and its exclusive access control will be broken.
This patch replaces spin_lock_irq() to spin_lock_irqsave(),
and spin_unlock_irq() to spin_unlock_irqrestore().

dma/sh/shdmac.c:695:16: warning: unused variable irqflags [-Wunused-variable]
dma/sh/shdmac.c: At top level:
dma/sh/shdmac.c:447:20: warning: sh_dmae_err defined but not used [-Wunused-function]

This changes all the #ifdef to test for CONFIG_ARCH_SHMOBILE to
avoid that warning. An earlier patch from Laurent had fixed the warning
for non-ARM case, but it still remained present in ARM randconfig builds.

d7d8e892aa dmaengine: usb-dmac: Fix dereferencing freed memory 'desc'
This patch fixes an issue that the usb_dmac_desc_free() is
dereferencing freed memory 'desc' because it uses list_for_each_entry().
This function should use list_for_each_entry_safe().

0c1c8ff32f dmaengine: usb-dmac: Add Renesas USB DMA Controller (USB-DMAC) driver
This DMAC is Renesas USB high-speed module DMA controller that
supports slave transfer.

This USB-DMAC has similar register sets with R-Car Gen2 DMAC, but
the USB-DMAC has specific registers to control the USB transactions.
If this code is added into the rcar-dmac driver, it will become
unreadable. So, this driver is independent from the rcar-dmac.

And, this USB-DMAC uses virt-dma infrastructure.

3cd44dcd35 dmaengine: remove Renesas Audio DMAC peri peri
Renesas R-Car sound (= rsnd) needs 2 DMAC which are called as
Audio DMAC (= 1st DMAC) and Audio DMAC peri peri (2nd DMAC).
And rsnd had assumed that 1st / 2nd DMACs are implemented as DMAEngine.
But, in result of DMA ML discussion, 2nd DMAC was concluded that it is
not a general purpose DMAC (2nd DMAC is for Device to Device inside
sound system). Additionally, current DMAEngine can't support Device to
Device, and we don't have correct DT bindings for it at this point.
So the easiest solution for it is that move it from DMAEngine to rsnd
driver.
Audio DMAC peri peri on DMAEngine is no longer needed. remove it.

Geert Uytterhoeven
b6d1778bc5 dmaengine: shdma: Move DMA stop to (runtime) suspend callbacks
During system reboot, the sh-dma-engine device may be runtime-suspended,
causing a crash:

    Unhandled fault: imprecise external abort (0x1406) at 0x0002c02c
    Internal error: : 1406 [#1] SMP ARM
    ...
    PC is at sh_dmae_ctl_stop+0x28/0x64
    LR is at sh_dmae_ctl_stop+0x24/0x64

If the sh-dma-engine is runtime-suspended, its module clock is turned
off, and its registers cannot be accessed.

To fix this, move the call to sh_dmae_ctl_stop(), which touches the
DMAOR register, to the sh_dmae_suspend() and sh_dmae_runtime_suspend()
callbacks. This makes PM operations more symmetric, as both
sh_dmae_resume() and sh_dmae_runtime_resume() already call sh_dmae_rst()
to re-initialize the DMAOR register.

Remove sh_dmae_shutdown(), as it became empty.
