A mirror of the official Linux kernel repository just in case

Currently, we just assume that it will stick around by virtue of the submitter's reference, but later patches will allow the syscall to return early and we can't rely on that reference at that point. While I'm not aware of any reports of it, Xiubo pointed out that this may fix a use-after-free. If the wait for a reply times out or is canceled via signal, and then the reply comes in after the syscall returns, the client can end up trying to access r_parent without a reference. Take an extra reference to the inode when setting r_parent and release it when releasing the request. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
