Rust's `unused_imports` lint covers both unused and redundant imports. In the upcoming 1.78.0, the lint detects more cases of redundant imports [1], e.g.: error: the item `bindings` is imported redundantly --> rust/kernel/print.rs:38:9 | 38 | use crate::bindings; | ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ the item `bindings` is already defined by prelude Most cases are `use crate::bindings`, plus a few other items like `Box`. Thus clean them up. Note that, in the `bindings` case, the message "defined by prelude" above means the extern prelude, i.e. the `--extern` flags we pass. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
