233f4e12bb xfs: add parent pointer ioctls
This patch adds a pair of new file ioctls to retrieve the parent pointer
of a given inode.  They both return the same results, but one operates
on the file descriptor passed to ioctl() whereas the other allows the
caller to specify a file handle for which the caller wants results.

42672471f9 xfs: bind together the front and back ends of the file range exchange code
So far, we've constructed the front end of the file range exchange code
that does all the checking; and the back end of the file mapping
exchange code that actually does the work.  Glue these two pieces
together so that we can turn on the functionality.

966ceafc7a xfs: create deferred log items for file mapping exchanges
Now that we've created the skeleton of a log intent item to track and
restart file mapping exchange operations, add the upper level logic to
commit intent items and turn them into concrete work recorded in the
log.  This builds on the existing bmap update intent items that have
been around for a while now.

a095686a23 xfs: support in-memory btrees
Adapt the generic btree cursor code to be able to create a btree whose
buffers come from a (presumably in-memory) buftarg with a header block
that's specific to in-memory btrees.  We'll connect this to other parts
of online scrub in the next patches.

Note that in-memory btrees always have a block size matching the system
memory page size for efficiency reasons.  There are also a few things we
need to do to finalize a btree update; that's covered in the next patch.

5076a6040c xfs: support in-memory buffer cache targets
Allow the buffer cache to target in-memory files by making it possible
to have a buftarg that maps pages from private shmem files.  As the
prevous patch alludes, the in-memory buftarg contains its own cache,
points to a shmem file, and does not point to a block_device.

The next few patches will make it possible to construct an xfs_btree in
pageable memory by using this buftarg.

c2beff99eb xfs: add debug knob to slow down writeback for fun
Add a new error injection knob so that we can arbitrarily slow down
writeback to test for race conditions and aberrant reclaim behavior if
the writeback mechanisms are slow to issue writeback.  This will enable
functional testing for the ifork sequence counters introduced in commit
745b3f76d1 ("xfs: maintain a sequence count for inode fork
manipulations").

0020a190cf xfs: AIL needs asynchronous CIL forcing
The AIL pushing is stalling on log forces when it comes across
pinned items. This is happening on removal workloads where the AIL
is dominated by stale items that are removed from AIL when the
checkpoint that marks the items stale is committed to the journal.
This results is relatively few items in the AIL, but those that are
are often pinned as directories items are being removed from are
still being logged.

As a result, many push cycles through the CIL will first issue a
blocking log force to unpin the items. This can take some time to
complete, with tracing regularly showing push delays of half a
second and sometimes up into the range of several seconds. Sequences
like this aren't uncommon:

In each of these cases, every AIL pass saw 101 log items stuck on
the AIL (pinned) with very few other items being found. Each pass, a
log force was issued, and delay between last/first is the sleep time
+ the sync log force time.

Some of these 101 items pinned the tail of the log. The tail of the
log does slowly creep forward (first lsn), but the problem is that
the log is actually out of reservation space because it's been
running so many transactions that stale items that never reach the
AIL but consume log space. Hence we have a largely empty AIL, with
long term pins on items that pin the tail of the log that don't get
pushed frequently enough to keep log space available.

The problem is the hundreds of milliseconds that we block in the log
force pushing the CIL out to disk. The AIL should not be stalled
like this - it needs to run and flush items that are at the tail of
the log with minimal latency. What we really need to do is trigger a
log flush, but then not wait for it at all - we've already done our
waiting for stuff to complete when we backed off prior to the log
force being issued.

Even if we remove the XFS_LOG_SYNC from the xfs_log_force() call, we
still do a blocking flush of the CIL and that is what is causing the
issue. Hence we need a new interface for the CIL to trigger an
immediate background push of the CIL to get it moving faster but not
to wait on that to occur. While the CIL is pushing, the AIL can also
be pushing.

We already have an internal interface to do this -
xlog_cil_push_now() - but we need a wrapper for it to be used
externally. xlog_cil_force_seq() can easily be extended to do what
we need as it already implements the synchronous CIL push via
xlog_cil_push_now(). Add the necessary flags and "push current
sequence" semantics to xlog_cil_force_seq() and convert the AIL
pushing to use it.

One of the complexities here is that the CIL push does not guarantee
that the commit record for the CIL checkpoint is written to disk.
The current log force ensures this by submitting the current ACTIVE
iclog that the commit record was written to. We need the CIL to
actually write this commit record to disk for an async push to
ensure that the checkpoint actually makes it to disk and unpins the
pinned items in the checkpoint on completion. Hence we need to pass
down to the CIL push that we are doing an async flush so that it can
switch out the commit_iclog if necessary to get written to disk when
the commit iclog is finally released.

Move the xfs_perag infrastructure to the libxfs files that contain
all the per AG infrastructure. This helps set up for passing perags
around all the code instead of bare agnos with minimal extra

60e3d70707 xfs: support bulk loading of staged btrees
Add a new btree function that enables us to bulk load a btree cursor.
This will be used by the upcoming online repair patches to generate new
btrees.  This avoids the programmatic inefficiency of calling
xfs_btree_insert in a loop (which generates a lot of log traffic) in
favor of stamping out new btree blocks with ordered buffers, and then
committing both the new root and scheduling the removal of the old btree
blocks in a single transaction commit.

The design of this new generic code is based off the btree rebuilding
code in xfs_repair's phase 5 code, with the explicit goal of enabling us
to share that code between scrub and repair.  It has the additional
feature of being able to control btree block loading factors.

e06536a692 xfs: introduce fake roots for ag-rooted btrees
Create an in-core fake root for AG-rooted btree types so that callers
can generate a whole new btree using the upcoming btree bulk load
function without making the new tree accessible from the rest of the
filesystem.  It is up to the individual btree type to provide a function
to create a staged cursor (presumably with the appropriate callouts to
update the fakeroot) and then commit the staged root back into the
filesystem.

250d4b4c40 xfs: remove unused header files
There are many, many xfs header files which are included but
unneeded (or included twice) in the xfs code, so remove them.

nb: xfs_linux.h includes about 9 headers for everyone, so those
explicit includes get removed by this.  I'm not sure what the
preference is, but if we wanted explicit includes everywhere,
a followup patch could remove those xfs_*.h includes from
xfs_linux.h and move them into the files that need them.
Or it could be left as-is.

0b61f8a407 xfs: convert to SPDX license tags
Remove the verbose license text from XFS files and replace them
with SPDX tags. This does not change the license of any of the code,
merely refers to the common, up-to-date license files in LICENSES/

This change was mostly scripted. fs/xfs/Makefile and
fs/xfs/libxfs/xfs_fs.h were modified by hand, the rest were detected
and modified by the following command:

a4fbe6ab1e xfs: decouple inode and bmap btree header files
Currently the xfs_inode.h header has a dependency on the definition
of the BMAP btree records as the inode fork includes an array of
xfs_bmbt_rec_host_t objects in it's definition.

Move all the btree format definitions from xfs_btree.h,
xfs_bmap_btree.h, xfs_alloc_btree.h and xfs_ialloc_btree.h to
xfs_format.h to continue the process of centralising the on-disk
format definitions. With this done, the xfs inode definitions are no
longer dependent on btree header files.

The enables a massive culling of unnecessary includes, with close to
200 #include directives removed from the XFS kernel code base.

239880ef64 xfs: decouple log and transaction headers
xfs_trans.h has a dependency on xfs_log.h for a couple of
structures. Most code that does transactions doesn't need to know
anything about the log, but this dependency means that they have to
include xfs_log.h. Decouple the xfs_trans.h and xfs_log.h header
files and clean up the includes to be in dependency order.

In doing this, remove the direct include of xfs_trans_reserve.h from
xfs_trans.h so that we remove the dependency between xfs_trans.h and
xfs_mount.h. Hence the xfs_trans.h include can be moved to the
indicate the actual dependencies other header files have on it.

Note that these are kernel only header files, so this does not
translate to any userspace changes at all.

5706278758 xfs: unify directory/attribute format definitions
The on-disk format definitions for the directory and attribute
structures are spread across 3 header files right now, only one of
which is dedicated to defining on-disk structures and their
manipulation (xfs_dir2_format.h). Pull all the format definitions
into a single header file - xfs_da_format.h - and switch all the
code over to point at that.

70a9883c5f xfs: create a shared header file for format-related information
All of the buffer operations structures are needed to be exported
for xfs_db, so move them all to a common location rather than
spreading them all over the place. They are verifying the on-disk
format, so while xfs_format.h might be a good place, it is not part
of the on disk format.

Hence we need to create a new header file that we centralise these
related definitions. Start by moving the bffer operations
structures, and then also move all the other definitions that have
crept into xfs_log_format.h and xfs_format.h as there was no other
shared header file to put them in.

6ca1c9063d xfs: separate dquot on disk format definitions out of xfs_quota.h
The on disk format definitions of the on-disk dquot, log formats and
quota off log formats are all intertwined with other definitions for
quotas. Separate them out into their own header file so they can
easily be shared with userspace.

ad1e95c54e xfs: clean up xfs_bit.h includes
With the removal of xfs_rw.h and other changes over time, xfs_bit.h
is being included in many files that don't actually need it. Clean
up the includes as necessary.

Also move the only-used-once xfs_ialloc_find_free() static inline
function out of a header file that is widely included to reduce
the number of needless dependencies on xfs_bit.h.

Untangle the header file includes a bit by moving the definition of
xfs_agino_t to xfs_types.h. This removes the dependency that xfs_ag.h has on

c59d87c460 xfs: remove subdirectories
Use the move from Linux 2.6 to Linux 3.x as an excuse to kill the
annoying subdirectories in the XFS source code.  Besides the large
amount of file rename the only changes are to the Makefile, a few
files including headers with the subdirectory prefix, and the binary
sysctl compat code that includes a header under fs/xfs/ from
kernel/.
