c76286bafc [media] drx-j: avoid calling power_down_foo twice
When switching from one video standard to another one,
power_down_vsb is called twice. Well, as the device is already
in power_down mode, the second call always fail. This causes that
any subsequent frontend set to fail as well:

d7b0631eb2 [media] drx-j: remove some ugly bindings from drx39xxj_dummy.c
This file does an ugly binding between drxj and DVB frontend.

Remove most of the functions there. We still need to get rid of
get_frequency and set_frequency, but such patch is a little more
complex, as it should also remove some previous tuner bindings.

74c8794a8f [media] drx-j: comment or remove unused code
In order to avoid warnings and to remove dead code, remove
the functions that don't make sense to happen, while commenting
the others that might still be useful some day.

That reduced a lot the text size:

Before:

text data bss dec hex	filename
  58419 2916 4 61339 ef9b	drivers/media/dvb-frontends/drx39xyj/drx39xyj.ko

After:
text data bss dec hex	filename
  78331 2916 4 81251 13d63	drivers/media/dvb-frontends/drx39xyj/drx39xyj.ko

Without any functional changes.

It could be make sense latter to remove those drivers or to
move them into an analog-specific part of the driver.

b0baeb494e [media] drx-j: get rid of drxj_ctrl()
With this change, we finally got rid of all abstraction
layers on this driver.

This patch also fixes the LNA GPIO settings, as the original
code were using a wrong control name for it.

This patch exposes the several functions that aren't used.
Some of them are related to analog demod that might be
used some day, but others will likely never be needed, as
they don't fit on Linux media APIs.

Latter patches will clean up this mess.

9482354f4a [media] drx-j: Use the Linux error codes
Instead of defining its own set of error codes, use the linux
native ones.

Please note that this patch made a "stupid" error code mapping, just
replacing the codes with the closest one. In special, -EIO is being
used on several places. I'm pretty sure this could be better assigned,
but a change like that would require lots o time and efforts, without
much benefit.

So lets do adjstments at the error codes latter, when we have more
time.

Fix almost all checkpatch.pl warnings/errors on drxj.c, except for:

Add m88rs2000_get_tune_settings, min delay of 2000 ms on symbol

42ff76bdb0 [media] dib8000: make a better estimation for dBm
Use multiple linear segments to better interpolate the dBm
for the signal strength.

The table that converts from linear strength to dB was
empirically determinated with the help of a signal generator
(DTA-2111).

The entries from -35dBm to -22.5dBm were taken using just
the signal generator and the board.

For the entries from -36dBm to -51dBm, a 16 dB tap was used,
in order to extend its range.

Signals below to -51dBm are just linearly interpolated.

b4600d70c0 [media] dib8000: estimate strength in dBm
Better to have Signal strength in dB.
This takes a very rough estimation for the signal strength,
that was calibrated using a Dektec DTA-2111 Gold RF generator
and a Pixelview dib8076 stick.

It estimates the signal strength using a linear equation where:
	- the max is -22.5 dBm, with returns 55953
	- the min is -35.0 dBm, with returns 50110

With -22dBm, the signal strengh is returned as 65535.
Unfortunately, the min strength generated with DTA-2111 is
-35dBm.

It should be noticed that approximating it by a linear equation
is not right. I should probably be splitting it into 0.5 dB
linear segments, in order to get a higher precision, just like
it is done on mb86a20s, but that would force me to add some
attenuators, in order to get dB levels below -35dBm, which is,
btw, strong enough to get signal lock.

On ISDB-T, the valid values for interleaving are 0, 1, 2 and 4.
While the first 3 are properly reported, the last one is reported
as 3 instead. Fix it.

ad97618704 [media] dib8000: improves the auto search mode check logic
The logic that detects if auto search mode should be used is too
complex.

Also, it doesn't cover all cases, as the dib8000_tune logic
requires either auto mode or a fully specified manual mode.
So, move it to a separate function and add some extra debug
data to help identifying when it falled back to auto mode,
because the manual settings are invalid.

70315b3eaf [media] dib8000: Don't let tuner hang due to a call to get_frontend()
Both dvbv5-scan and dvbv5-zap tools call FE_GET_PROPERTY inside the
loop that checks for stats. If the frontend doesn't support DVBv5, it
falls back to call the DVBv5 stats APIs(FE_READ_BER, FE_READ_SIGNAL,
FE_READ_SNR and FE_READ_UNCORRECTED_BLOCKS).

A call to FE_GET_PROPERTY makes dvb-frontend core to call get_frontend().

However, due to a race condition on dib8000 between dib8000_get_frontend
and dib8000_tune, if get_frontend occurs too early, it causes the
tune state machine to fail and not get any lock.

This patch adds a workaround code that makes get_frontend() to just
return if none of the frontends have a SYNC. This change fixed the issue
with dvbv5-scan/dvbv5-zap, but a fine-tuned logic might be needed in
the future, when we implement DVBv5 stats on this frontend.

The procedure to test the bug and the fix is the one below:

1) tune into a non-existing frequency with:

	$ dvbv5-zap -I dvbv5 -c non_existing_freqs -m 679142857 -t3

2) tune/lock into an existing frequency with:

	$ dvbv5-zap -I dvbv5 -c isdb-test -m 479142857
    or
	$ dvbv5-scan isdb-test

In this case, 679 MHz carrier doesn't exist. Only 479 MHz does.

5ac64ba12a [media] dib8000: make 32 bits read atomic
As the dvb-frontend kthread can be called anytime, it can race
with some get status ioctl. So, it seems better to avoid one to
race with the other while reading a 32 bits register.
I can't see any other reason for having a mutex there at I2C, except
to provide such kind of protection, as the I2C core already has a
mutex to protect I2C transfers.

Note: instead of this approach, it could eventually remove the dib8000
specific mutex for it, and either group the 4 ops into one xfer or
to manually control the I2C mutex. The main advantage of the current
approach is that the changes are smaller and more puntual.

6894c070e1 [media] tda10071: change firmware download condition
Reading firmware status register to detect whether firmware is
running or not didn't work 100% reliably. That register was
likely set by firmware itself which means it could not contain
reasonable values until firmware is up and running. Usually it
just worked as some garbage value was returned accidentally but it
appears that in some cases returned garbage value was 0x00 which
was considered "firmware is up and running" by the driver and
firmware loading was skipped leaving device to non-working state.
Fix problem by removing unreliable check and let the driver keep
count whether firmware is loaded or not.

069ebbfc9e [media] stb0899: fix inversion enum values to match usage with CFR
Throughout the zig-zag-implementations, inversion is taken into
account when reading and writing the CFR register, which contains
the derotator frequency. As swapping IQ signals changes the sign
of that register for example, the idea is to compensate that sign
change by multiplying the register value with the inversion enum
value.
The current enum values 0 and 1 for IQ_SWAP_OFF and IQ_SWAP_ON
don't work in the case IQ_SWAP_OFF, due to the multiplication by
zero (I've only found a single device which actually uses
IQ_SWAP_OFF in it's config).
I've changed the enum values to +1 and -1 to accommodate to the
intended usage.

It seems that current inversion handling addresses only the signal
routing on the PCB, i. e. IQ signals are either swapped or not.
But when the device is operated in a Satellite Channel Router (SCR)

the SCR works. Therefore it makes sense to me to always enable auto

It should also be noticed that ARIB STD-B31, item

48a8a03b58 [media] cx88: kernel bz#9476: Fix tone setting for Nova-S+ model 92001
Hauppauge Nova-S-Plus DVB-S model 92001 does not lock on horizontal
polarisation. According with the info provided at the BZ, model
92002 does.

The difference is that, on model 92001, the tone select is done via
isl6421, while, on other devices, this is done via cx24123 code.
This patch adds a way to override the demod's set_tone at isl6421
driver. In order to avoid regressions, the override is enabled
only for cx88 Nova S plus model 92001. For all other models and
devices, the set_tone is provided by the demod driver.

Patch originally proposed at bz@9476[1] by Michel Meyers and
John Donoghue but applying the original patch would break support
for all other devices based on isl6421.

a78b41d5fd [media] mb86a20s: Always reset the frontend with set_frontend
Always init the frontend when set_frontend is called. The rationale
is: it was noticed that, on some devices, it fails to lock with a
different channel. It seems that some other registers need to be
restored to its initial state, when the channel changes.
As it is better to reset everything, even wasting a few more

Use the AGC settings present on a newer device.
The initial settings were taken from one of the first devices with
mb86a20s, and there are several reports that this is not working
properly on some places.
So, instead of keeping using it, get the parameters taken from a
newer device. Tests are welcomed.
Tested also with cx231xx PixelView SBTVD Hybrid with no regressions

15b1c5a068 [media] mb86a20s: provide CNR stats before FE_HAS_SYNC
State 9 means TS started to be output, and it should be
associated with FE_HAS_SYNC.
The mb86a20scan get CNR statistics at state 7, when frame sync
is obtained.
As CNR may help to adjust the antenna, provide it earlier.
A latter patch could eventually start outputing MER measures
earlier, but that would require a bigger change, and probably
won't be better than the current way, as the time between
changing from state 8 to 9 is generally lower than the time
to get the stats collected.

09b6d21e10 [media] mb86a20s: calculate statistics at .read_status()
Instead of providing separate callbacks to read the several FE
stats properties, the better seems to use just one method that will:
    - Read lock status;
    - Read signal strength;
    - if locked, get TMCC data;
    - if locked, get DVB statistics.
As the DVB frontend thread will call this read_status callback
on every 3 seconds, and userspace can even call it earlier,
all stats data and layers layout will be updated together if
available, with is a good thing.
