5755be5f15 media: v4l2-subdev: Rename .init_cfg() operation to .init_state()
The subdev .init_cfg() operation is affected by two issues:

- It has long been extended to initialize a whole v4l2_subdev_state
instead of just a v4l2_subdev_pad_config, but its name has stuck
  around.

- Despite operating on a whole subdev state and not being directly
exposed to the subdev users (either in-kernel or through the userspace
API), .init_cfg() is categorized as a subdev pad operation.

This participates in making the subdev API confusing for new developers.
Fix it by renaming the operation to .init_state(), and make it a subdev
internal operation.

Return NULL from sub-device pad state access functions
(v4l2_subdev_state_get_{format,crop,compose}) for non-existent pads. While
this behaviour differs from older set of pad state information access

validate the pad index nowadays. Therefore problems are not expected.

dd4229fa7b media: v4l2-dev: Check that g/s_selection are valid before selecting crop
The cropcap and g/s_crop ioctls are automatically marked as valid whenever
the g/s_selection ops are filled. The rationale is to auto-enable these
legacy cropcap and g/s_crop ioctls that rely on g/s_selection.

However it's possible that the ops are filled but explicitly disabled with
calls to v4l2_disable_ioctl. In this situation the legacy ioctls should not
be enabled.

Add a check on the video device's valid ioctls field before auto-selecting
them to honor the driver's choice. Note that the meaning of the bitfield
stored in the video device is the opposite of what the name suggests as
v4l2_disable_ioctl will set the bits. Their meaning will be reversed at
the end of the function.

6aa210d27b media: core: v4l2-ioctl: check if ioctl is known to avoid NULL name
When ioctl debugging is turned on, the v4l_printk_ioctl() is used
to log the ioctl that is called. It uses an array of ioctl information
to log the ioctl name and it correctly checks for out-of-bound indexing
of that array. However, the array may have holes since not all ioctl
numbers are used. In that case the name of the ioctl is NULL.

It is harmless (printk handles NULL pointers), but not intended. Instead
use the v4l2_is_known_ioctl() function to determine if the ioctl
information is available or not.

613cbb91e9 media: Add MIPI CCI register access helper functions
The CSI2 specification specifies a standard method to access camera sensor
registers called "Camera Control Interface (CCI)".

This uses either 8 or 16 bit (big-endian wire order) register addresses
and supports 8, 16, 24 or 32 bit (big-endian wire order) register widths.

Currently a lot of Linux camera sensor drivers all have their own custom
helpers for this, often copy and pasted from other drivers.

Add a set of generic helpers for this so that all sensor drivers can
switch to a single common implementation.

These helpers take an extra optional "int *err" function parameter,
this can be used to chain a bunch of register accesses together with
only a single error check at the end, rather than needing to error
check each individual register access. The first failing call will
set the contents of err to a non 0 value and all other calls will
then become no-ops.

28a1295795 media: v4l: async: Allow multiple connections between entities
When the v4l2-async framework was introduced, the use case for it was to
connect a camera sensor with a parallel receiver. Both tended to be rather
simple devices with a single connection between them.

The framework has been since improved in multiple ways but there are
limitations that have remained, for instance the assumption an async
sub-device is connected towards a single notifier and via a single link
only.

This patch enables connecting a sub-device to one or more notifiers
simultaneously, with one or more connections per notifier. The notifier
information is moved from the sub-device to the connection and the
connections in sub-device are no longer a pointer but a linked list.

9bf19fbf0c media: v4l: async: Rework internal lists
This patch re-arranges internal V4L2 async lists for preparation of
supporting multiple connections per sub-device as well as cleaning up used
lists.

The list of unbound V4L2 sub-devices shall be maintained for the purpose of
listing those sub-devices only, not for their bindin status. Also, the V4L2
async connections now have, instead of two list entries, a single list
entry in the notifier's list, be that either waiting or done lists, while
the notifier's asc_list is removed.

The one-to-one relation between a sub-device and a connection is still
maintained in this patch.

adb2dcd5f2 media: v4l: async: Rename v4l2_async_subdev as v4l2_async_connection
Rename v4l2_async_subdev as v4l2_async_connection, in order to
differentiate between the sub-devices and their connections: one
sub-device can have many connections but the V4L2 async framework has so
far allowed just a single one. Connections in this context will later
translate into either MC ancillary or data links.

This patch prepares changing that relation by changing existing users of
v4l2_async_subdev to switch to v4l2_async_connection. Async sub-devices
themselves will not be needed anymore

Additionally, __v4l2_async_nf_add_subdev() has been renamed
__v4l2_async_nf_add_connection().

1029939b37 media: v4l: async: Simplify async sub-device fwnode matching
V4L2 async sub-device matching originally used the device nodes only.
Endpoint nodes were taken into use instead as using the device nodes was
problematic for it was in some cases ambiguous which link might have been
in question.

There is however no need to use endpoint nodes on both sides, as the async
sub-device's fwnode can always be trivially obtained using
fwnode_graph_get_remote_endpoint() when needed while what counts is
whether or not the link is between two device nodes, i.e. the device nodes
match.

This will briefly break the adv748x driver but it will be fixed later in
the set, by patch "media: adv748x: Return to endpoint matching".
