Since the report buffer is used by all kinds of drivers in various ways, let's
zero-initialize it during allocation to make sure that it can't be ever used
to leak kernel memory via specially-crafted report.

fetch_item() does not modify the descriptor it operates on.
As a prerequisite for the constification of hid_driver::dev_rdesc,
mark the parameters and return value of fetch_item() as const.
Also adapt the variable types in the callers to match this

This helper will allow HID drivers to easily determine if they should
bind to a hid_device by checking for the prescence of a certain field
when its ID is not enough, which can be the case on USB devices with
multiple interfaces and/or configurations.
Convert google-hammer driver to use it, and remove now superfluous

Here is the big set of driver core changes for 6.11-rc1.
Lots of stuff in here, with not a huge diffstat, but apis are evolving
which required lots of files to be touched. Highlights of the changes
in here are:
- platform remove callback api final fixups (Uwe took many releases to
get here, finally!)
- Rust bindings for basic firmware apis and initial driver-core
interactions. It's not all that useful for a "write a whole driver
in rust" type of thing, but the firmware bindings do help out the
phy rust drivers, and the driver core bindings give a solid base on
which others can start their work. There is still a long way to go
here before we have a multitude of rust drivers being added, but
it's a great first step.
- driver core const api changes. This reached across all bus types,
and there are some fix-ups for some not-common bus types that
linux-next and 0-day testing shook out. This work is being done to
help make the rust bindings more safe, as well as the C code, moving
toward the end-goal of allowing us to put driver structures into
read-only memory. We aren't there yet, but are getting closer.
- minor devres cleanups and fixes found by code inspection
- arch_topology minor changes
- other minor driver core cleanups
All of these have been in linux-next for a very long time with no
reported problems.

- Rewrite of HID-BPF internal implementation to use bpf struct_ops
instead of tracing (Benjamin Tissoires)
- Add new HID-BPF hooks to be able to intercept userspace calls
targetting a HID device and filtering them (Benjamin Tissoires)
- Add support for various new devices through HID-BPF filters (Benjamin
Tissoires)
Couple of fixes for HID-core:
- use of kvzalloc in case memory gets too fragmented (Hailong Liu)
- retrieve the device firmware node in the child HID device (Danny
Kaehn)
In the match() callback, the struct device_driver * should not be
changed, so change the function callback to be a const *. This is one
step of many towards making the driver core safe to have struct
device_driver in read-only memory.
Because the match() callback is in all busses, all busses are modified
to handle this properly. This does entail switching some container_of()
calls to container_of_const() to properly handle the constant *.
For some busses, like PCI and USB and HV, the const * is cast away in
the match callback as those busses do want to modify those structures at
this point in time (they have a local lock in the driver structure.)
That will have to be changed in the future if they wish to have their
struct device * in read-only-memory.

This is the same logic than hid_hw_raw_request or hid_hw_output_report:
we can allow hid_bpf_try_input_report to be called from a hook on
hid_input_report if we ensure that the call can not be made twice in a
row.
There is one extra subtlety in which there is a lock in hid_input_report.
But given that we can detect if we are already in the hook, we can notify
hid_input_report to not take the lock. This is done by checking if
ctx_kern data is valid or null, and if it is equal to the dedicated
incoming data buffer.
In order to have more control on whether the lock needs to be taken or not
we introduce a new kfunc for it: hid_bpf_try_input_report()

hid_bpf_input_report() is already marked to be used in sleepable context
only. So instead of hammering with timers the device to hopefully get
an available slot where the device is not sending events, we can make
that kfunc wait for the current event to be terminated before it goes in.
This allows to work with the following pseudo code:
in struct_ops/hid_device_event:
- schedule a bpf_wq, which calls hid_bpf_input_report()
- once this struct_ops function terminates, hid_bpf_input_report()
immediately starts before the next event

Same story than hid_hw_raw_requests:
This allows to intercept and prevent or change the behavior of
hid_hw_output_report() from a bpf program.
The intent is to solve a couple of use case:
- firewalling a HID device: a firewall can monitor who opens the hidraw
nodes and then prevent or allow access to write operations on that
hidraw node.
- change the behavior of a device and emulate a new HID feature request
The hook is allowed to be run as sleepable so it can itself call
hid_hw_output_report(), which allows to "convert" one feature request into
another or even call the feature request on a different HID device on the
same physical device.

When we attach a sleepable hook to hid_hw_raw_requests, we can (and in
many cases should) call ourself hid_bpf_raw_request(), to actually fetch
data from the device itself.
However, this means that we might enter an infinite loop between
hid_hw_raw_requests hooks and hid_bpf_hw_request() call.
To prevent that, if a hid_bpf_hw_request() call is emitted, we prevent
any new call of this kfunc by storing the information in the context.
This way we can always trace/monitor/filter the incoming bpf requests,
while preventing those loops to happen.
I don't think exposing "from_bpf" is very interesting because while
writing such a bpf program, you need to match at least the report number
and/or the source of the call. So a blind "if there is a
hid_hw_raw_request() call, I'm emitting another one" makes no real
sense.

We want to add sleepable callbacks for hid_hw_raw_request() and
hid_hw_output_report(), but we can not use a plain RCU for those.
Prepare for a SRCU so we can extend HID-BPF.
This changes a little bit how hid_bpf_device_init() behaves, as it may
now fail, so there is a tiny hid-core.c change to accommodate for this.

The function hid_register_field() might allocate more than 32k, which
would use order-4 contiguous memory if the parameter usage exceeds
1024. However, after the system runs for a while, the memory can
become heavily fragmented. This increases the likelihood of order-4 page
allocation failure. Here’s the relevant log.

It can be interesting to inject events from BPF as if the event were
to come from the device.
For example, some multitouch devices do not all the time send a proximity
out event, and we might want to send it for the physical device.
Compared to uhid, we can now inject events on any physical device, not
just uhid virtual ones.

More and more drivers rely on devres to manage their resources, however
if bus' probe() and release() methods are not trivial and control some
of resources as well (for example enable or disable clocks, or attach
device to a power domain), we need to make sure that driver-allocated
resources are released immediately after driver's remove() method
returns, and not postponed until driver core gets around to releasing
resources.
In case of HID we should not try to close the report and release
associated memory until after all devres callbacks are executed. To fix
that we open a new devres group before calling driver's probe() and
explicitly release it when we return from driver's remove().
This is similar to what we did for I2C bus in commit 5b5475826c ("i2c:
ensure timely release of driver-allocated resources"). It is tempting to
try and move this into driver core, but actually doing so is challenging,
we need to split bus' remove() method into pre- and post-remove methods,
which would make the logic even less clear.

Here is the large set of driver core changes for 6.3-rc1.
There's a lot of changes this development cycle, most of the work falls
into two different categories:
- fw_devlink fixes and updates. This has gone through numerous review
cycles and lots of review and testing by lots of different devices.
Hopefully all should be good now, and Saravana will be keeping a
watch for any potential regression on odd embedded systems.
- driver core changes to work to make struct bus_type able to be moved
into read-only memory (i.e. const) The recent work with Rust has
pointed out a number of areas in the driver core where we are
passing around and working with structures that really do not have
to be dynamic at all, and they should be able to be read-only making
things safer overall. This is the contuation of that work (started
last release with kobject changes) in moving struct bus_type to be
constant. We didn't quite make it for this release, but the
remaining patches will be finished up for the release after this
one, but the groundwork has been laid for this effort.
Other than that we have in here:
- debugfs memory leak fixes in some subsystems
- error path cleanups and fixes for some never-able-to-be-hit
codepaths.
- cacheinfo rework and fixes
- Other tiny fixes, full details are in the shortlog

Presently, when a report is processed, its proposed size, provided by
the user of the API (as Report Size * Report Count) is compared against
the subsystem default HID_MAX_BUFFER_SIZE (16k). However, some
low-level HID drivers allocate a reduced amount of memory to their
buffers (e.g. UHID only allocates UHID_DATA_MAX (4k) buffers), rending
this check inadequate in some cases.
In these circumstances, if the received report ends up being smaller
than the proposed report size, the remainder of the buffer is zeroed.
That is, the space between sizeof(csize) (size of the current report)
and the rsize (size proposed i.e. Report Size * Report Count), which can
be handled up to HID_MAX_BUFFER_SIZE (16k). Meaning that memset()
shoots straight past the end of the buffer boundary and starts zeroing
out in-use values, often resulting in calamity.
This patch introduces a new variable into 'struct hid_ll_driver' where
individual low-level drivers can over-ride the default maximum value of
HID_MAX_BUFFER_SIZE (16k) with something more sympathetic to the
interface.

Conflicts:
* drivers/hid/i2c-hid/Kconfig:
commit bf7660dab3 ("HID: stop drivers from selecting CONFIG_HID")
conflicts with commit 2afac81dd1 ("HID: fix I2C_HID not selected

the resolution is simple enough: just drop the "default" and "select"
lines as the new commit from Arnd is doing
- constify hid_ll_driver (Thomas Weißschuh)
- map standard Battery System Charging to upower (José Expósito)
- couple of assorted fixes and new handling of HID usages (Jingyuan
Liang & Ronald Tschalär)
The custom "debug" module parameter is fairly inflexible.
It can only manage debugging for all calls dbg_hid() at the same time.
Furthermore it creates a mismatch between calls to hid_dbg() which can
be managed by CONFIG_DYNAMIC_DEBUG and dbg_hid() which is managed by the
module parameter.
Furthermore the change to pr_debug() allows the debugging statements to
be completely compiled-out if desired.

Add a check for empty report_list in hid_validate_values().
The missing check causes a type confusion when issuing a list_entry()
on an empty report_list.
The problem is caused by the assumption that the device must
have valid report_list. While this will be true for all normal HID

We need to also be able to change the size of the report.
Reducing it is easy, because we already have the incoming buffer that is
big enough, but extending it is harder.
Pre-allocate a buffer that is big enough to handle all reports of the
device, and use that as the primary buffer for BPF programs.
To be able to change the size of the buffer, we change the device_event
API and request it to return the size of the buffer.

Declare an entry point that can use fmod_ret BPF programs, and
also an API to access and change the incoming data.
A simpler implementation would consist in just calling
hid_bpf_device_event() for any incoming event and let users deal
with the fact that they will be called for any event of any device.
The goal of HID-BPF is to partially replace drivers, so this situation
can be problematic because we might have programs which will step on
each other toes.
For that, we add a new API hid_bpf_attach_prog() that can be called
from a syscall and we manually deal with a jump table in hid-bpf.
Whenever we add a program to the jump table (in other words, when we
attach a program to a HID device), we keep the number of time we added
this program in the jump table so we can release it whenever there are
no other users.
HID devices have an RCU protected list of available programs in the
jump table, and those programs are called one after the other thanks
to bpf_tail_call().
To achieve the detection of users losing their fds on the programs we
attached, we add 2 tracing facilities on bpf_prog_release() (for when
a fd is closed) and bpf_free_inode() (for when a pinned program gets
unpinned).
