Make open counter to be incremented and decremented
from mei_cl_link and mei_cl_unlik function respectively
Nfc was assuming symmetric linking API and thus open handler
count was never decreased. This patch fixes that.
We need to add separate open hander count for amthif which
is handled out of link/unlink functions and doesn't break
the symmetric API.
Last we do not waste clients slots if amthif or wd are not present
in the device. we don't need to allocates slots ahead
it is all covered by link/unlink before the devices is responding
to user space connection and thus not racing on allocation

This fixes build failures seen on certain non X86 architectures.
The card driver should correctly always depend on X86. The host
driver can potentially work on non X86 architectures although
it has never been built or validated in such configurations.
The host driver dependency on X86 can be removed at some point
in the future but this workaround is required for now.

This patch introduces the card "Virtio over PCIe" interface for
Intel MIC. It allows virtio drivers on the card to communicate with their
user space backends on the host via a device page. Ring 3 apps on the host
can add, remove and configure virtio devices. A thin MIC specific
virtio_config_ops is implemented which is borrowed heavily from previous
similar implementations in lguest and s390 @

This patch introduces the host "Virtio over PCIe" interface for
Intel MIC. It allows creating user space backends on the host and instantiating
virtio devices for them on the Intel MIC card. It uses the existing VRINGH
infrastructure in the kernel to access virtio rings from the host. A character
device per MIC is exposed with IOCTL, mmap and poll callbacks. This allows the
user space backend to:
(a) add/remove a virtio device via a device page.
(b) map (R/O) virtio rings and device page to user space.
(c) poll for availability of data.
(d) copy a descriptor or entire descriptor chain to/from the card.
(e) modify virtio configuration.
(f) handle virtio device reset.
The buffers are copied over using CPU copies for this initial patch
and host initiated MIC DMA support is planned for future patches.
The avail and desc virtio rings are in host memory and the used ring
is in card memory to maximize writes across PCIe for performance.

Allwinner has electric fuses (efuse) on their line of chips. This driver
reads those fuses, seeds the kernel entropy and exports them as a sysfs
node.
These fuses are most likely to be programmed at the factory, encoding
things like Chip ID, some sort of serial number, etc. and appear to be
reasonably unique.
While in theory, these should be writeable by the user, it will probably
be inconvenient to do so. Allwinner recommends that a certain input pin,
labeled 'efuse_vddq', be connected to GND. To write these fuses however,
a 2.5 V programming voltage needs to be applied to this pin.
Even so, they can still be used to generate a board-unique mac from,
board unique RSA key and seed the kernel RNG.
On sun7i additional storage is available, this is initially used for an
UEFI BOOT key, Secure JTAG key, HDMI-HDCP key and vendor specific keys.
Currently supported are the following known chips:
Allwinner sun4i (A10)
Allwinner sun5i (A10s, A13)
Allwinner sun7i (A20)

to DMA consistent mappings for guest queuepair and doorbell pages that
are passed to the device. We still allocate each page individually,
since there's no guarantee that we'll get a contiguous block of physical
for an entire queuepair (especially since we allow up to 128 MiB!).
Also made the split between guest and host in the kernelIf struct much
clearer. Now it's obvious which fields are which.

Both H_IS and H_IE needs to be set to receive H_RDY
interrupt
1. Assert H_IS to clear the interrupts during hw reset
and use mei_me_reg_write instead of mei_hcsr_set as the later
strips down the H_IS
2. fix interrupt disablement embarrassing typo
hcsr |= ~H_IE -> hcsr &= ~H_IE;
this will remove the unwanted interrupt on power down

Some drivers can be built on more platforms than they run on. This is
a burden for users and distributors who package a kernel. They have to
manually deselect some (for them useless) drivers when updating their
configs via oldconfig. And yet, sometimes it is even impossible to
disable the drivers without patching the kernel.
Introduce a new config option COMPILE_TEST and make all those drivers
to depend on the platform they run on, or on the COMPILE_TEST option.
Now, when users/distributors choose COMPILE_TEST=n they will not have
the drivers in their allmodconfig setups, but developers still can
compile-test them with COMPILE_TEST=y.
Now the drivers where we use this new option:
* PTP_1588_CLOCK_PCH: The PCH EG20T is only compatible with Intel Atom
processors so it should depend on x86.
* FB_GEODE: Geode is 32-bit only so only enable it for X86_32.
* USB_CHIPIDEA_IMX: The OF_DEVICE dependency will be met on powerpc
systems -- which do not actually support the hardware via that
method.
* INTEL_MID_PTI: It is specific to the Penwell type of Intel Atom
device.
[v2]
* remove EXPERT dependency

This driver requests and remaps a memory region as configured in the
device tree. It serves memory from this region via the genalloc API. It
optionally enables the SRAM clock.
Other drivers can retrieve the genalloc pool from a phandle pointing to
this drivers' device node in the device tree.
The allocation granularity is hard-coded to 32 bytes for now, to make the
SRAM driver useful for the 6502 remoteproc driver. There is overhead for
bigger SRAMs, where only a much coarser allocation granularity is needed:
At 32 bytes minimum allocation size, a 256 KiB SRAM needs a 1 KiB bitmap
to track allocations.

it depends on the <mach/pcie.h> header that has not made it into the

The apds9802als driver implements runtime pm and at the same time uses the
legacy pm callbacks for suspend and resume. This does not work since the i2c
core wont look at the legacy pm callbacks if a driver has the 'pm' field set.
This patch fixes it by moving over to dev_pm_ops for suspend/resume as well.
Since both runtime pm and suspend/resume behave the same way this can easily be
done using the UNIVERSAL_DEV_PM_OPS macro.

The CS5535/CS5536 MFGPT has no support to reset the device.
The current method uses an undocumented bit but does not work on all
devices. At least on my ALIX board it completely freezes the board.
This new method tries to soft reset all timers by unconfiguring them.
But this does not clear the RO setup register and therefore it has to
be ignored while probing.
Resetting the timers is not only needed on broken BIOSes also when
kexec is used. Otherwise the new kernel will find preconfigured timers
and odd things will happen.

This fixes failure during initialization on Lynx Point LP devices.
ME driver needs to release the device from the reset
only after the FW has completed its flow and indicated
it by delivering an interrupt to the host.
This is the correct behavior for all the ME devices yet the
the previous versions are less susceptive to the implementation
that ignored FW reset completion indication.

Modify the request_module to prefix the file system type with "fs-"
and add aliases to all of the filesystems that can be built as modules
to match.
A common practice is to build all of the kernel code and leave code
that is not commonly needed as modules, with the result that many
users are exposed to any bug anywhere in the kernel.
Looking for filesystems with a fs- prefix limits the pool of possible
modules that can be loaded by mount to just filesystems trivially
making things safer with no real cost.
Using aliases means user space can control the policy of which
filesystem modules are auto-loaded by editing /etc/modprobe.d/*.conf
with blacklist and alias directives. Allowing simple, safe,
well understood work-arounds to known problematic software.
This also addresses a rare but unfortunate problem where the filesystem
name is not the same as it's module name and module auto-loading
would not work. While writing this patch I saw a handful of such
cases. The most significant being autofs that lives in the module
autofs4.
This is relevant to user namespaces because we can reach the request
module in get_fs_type() without having any special permissions, and
people get uncomfortable when a user specified string (in this case
the filesystem type) goes all of the way to request_module.
After having looked at this issue I don't think there is any
particular reason to perform any filtering or permission checks beyond
making it clear in the module request that we want a filesystem
module. The common pattern in the kernel is to call request_module()
without regards to the users permissions. In general all a filesystem
module does once loaded is call register_filesystem() and go to sleep.
Which means there is not much attack surface exposed by loading a
filesytem module unless the filesystem is mounted. In a user
namespace filesystems are not mounted unless .fs_flags = FS_USERNS_MOUNT,
which most filesystems do not set today.

We can't look up the address of the entry point of the function simply
via that function symbol for all architectures.
For PPC64 ABI, actually there is a function descriptors structure.
A function descriptor is a three doubleword data structure that contains
the following values:
* The first doubleword contains the address of the entry point of
the function.
* The second doubleword contains the TOC base address for
the function.
* The third doubleword contains the environment pointer for
languages such as Pascal and PL/1.
So we should call a wapperred dereference_function_descriptor() to get
the address of the entry point of the function.
Note this is also safe for other architecture after refer to
"include/asm-generic/sections.h" since:
dereference_function_descriptor(p) always is (p) if without arched definition.

I'm not sure why, but the hlist for each entry iterators were conceived
list_for_each_entry(pos, head, member)
The hlist ones were greedy and wanted an extra parameter:
hlist_for_each_entry(tpos, pos, head, member)
Why did they need an extra pos parameter? I'm not quite sure. Not only
they don't really need it, it also prevents the iterator from looking
exactly like the list iterator, which is unfortunate.
Besides the semantic patch, there was some manual work required:
- Fix up the actual hlist iterators in linux/list.h
- Fix up the declaration of other iterators based on the hlist ones.
- A very small amount of places were using the 'node' parameter, this
was modified to use 'obj->member' instead.
- Coccinelle didn't handle the hlist_for_each_entry_safe iterator
properly, so those had to be fixed up manually.
The semantic patch which is mostly the work of Peter Senna Tschudin is here:

- remove CONFIG_EXPERIMENTAL

The biggest change in this update is the unification of HD-audio codec
parsers. Now the HD-audio codec is parsed in a generic parser code
which is invoked by each HD-audio codec driver. Some background
information is found in David Henningsson's blog entry:
http://voices.canonical.com/david.henningsson/2013/01/18/upcoming-changes-to-the-intel-hda-drivers/
Other than that, some random updates/fixes like USB-audio and a bunch
of small AoC updates as usual.
Highlights:
- Unification of HD-audio parser code (aka generic parser)
- Support of new Intel HD-audio controller, new IDT codecs
- Fixes for HD-audio HDMI audio hotplug
- Haswell HDMI audio fixup
- Support of Creative CA0132 DSP code
- A few fixes of HDSP driver
- USB-audio fix for Roland A-PRO, M-Audio FT C600
- Support PM for aloop driver (and fixes Oops)
- Compress API updates for gapless playback support
For ASoC part:
- Support for a wider range of hardware in the compressed stream code
- The ability to mute capture streams as well as playback streams while
inactive
- DT support for AK4642, FSI, Samsung I2S and WM8962
- AC'97 support for Tegra
- New driver for max98090, replacing the stub which was there
- A new driver from Dialog
Note that due to dependencies, DTification of DMA support for Samsung
platforms (used only by the and I2S driver and SPI) is merged here as
well.

The reason is that it broke TI WiLink shared transport on Panda.
Also, callback functions should not be added to board files anymore,

The option allows you to remove TTY and compile without errors. This
saves space on systems that won't support TTY interfaces anyway.
bloat-o-meter output is below.
The bulk of this patch consists of Kconfig changes adding "depends on
TTY" to various serial devices and similar drivers that require the TTY
layer. Ideally, these dependencies would occur on a common intermediate
symbol such as SERIO, but most drivers "select SERIO" rather than
"depends on SERIO", and "select" does not respect dependencies.
bloat-o-meter output comparing our previous minimal to new minimal by
removing TTY. The list is filtered to not show removed entries with awk
'$3 != "-"' as the list was very long.

When st driver decodes protocol index received from raw data,
it does a value convert from "char" to "int". Because it's sign
extension from bit8 to bit32, the "int" value maybe minus, in
another word, the protocol index might be minus, but driver doesn't
filter such case and may continue access memory pointed by this
minus index.
This patch is to change the variable type of index from "int"
to "unsigned char", so that it avoids do such kind of type

Pull second round of sound fixes from Takashi Iwai:
"Yet a few more fixes popped up in this week.
The biggest change here is the addition of pinctrl support for Atmel,
which turned out to be almost mandatory to make things working.
The rest are a few fixes for M-Audio usb-audio device and a fix for
regression of HD-audio HDMI codecs with alsactl in the recent kernel."
