and PM QoS once all the prerequisite patches will get upstreamed.
The parent clock is now managed by the clock driver and we also should
assume that PLLM rate can't be changed on some devices (Galaxy Tab 10.1
for example). Altogether there is no point in touching of clock's rate
from the EMC driver.

7211 uses a newer version of API v2 which is half way between what was
defined as API v3 and what used to be called API v2 but was used with
DPFE firmwares with major versions 1.x.x.x. Starting with **the new**
API v2, we are no longer getting loadable firmware images, so the
capability to load it is removed (like v3).
To avoid spreading more confusion, map 7268/7271/7278 to the old DPFE
API version 2, 7211 to the new API v2 and introduce the specific
commands for that, and leave newer versions to map to API v3.

In the commit 4f0a1a1ae3 ("memory: mtk-smi: Invoke pm runtime_callback
to enable clocks"), we use pm_runtime callback to enable/disable the smi
larb clocks. It will cause the larb's clock may not be disabled when
suspend. That is because device_prepare will call pm_runtime_get_noresume
which will keep the larb's PM runtime status still is active when suspend,
then it won't enter our pm_runtime suspend callback to disable the
corresponding clocks.
This patch adds suspend pm_ops to force disable the clocks, Use "LATE" to
make sure it disable the larb's clocks after the multimedia devices.

The M4U IP blocks in mt8183 is MediaTek's generation2 M4U which use
the ARM Short-descriptor like mt8173, and most of the HW registers
are the same.
Here list main differences between mt8183 and mt8173/mt2712:
1) mt8183 has only one M4U HW like mt8173 while mt2712 has two.
2) mt8183 don't have the "bclk" clock, it use the EMI clock instead.
3) mt8183 can support the dram over 4GB, but it doesn't call this "4GB
mode".
4) mt8183 pgtable base register(0x0) extend bit[1:0] which represent
the bit[33:32] in the physical address of the pgtable base, But the
standard ttbr0[1] means the S bit which is enabled defaultly, Hence,
we add a mask.
5) mt8183 HW has a GALS modules, SMI should enable "has_gals" support.
6) mt8183 need reset_axi like mt8173.
7) the larb-id in smi-common is remapped. M4U should add its larbid_remap.

In some SoCs like mt8183, SMI add GALS(Global Async Local Sync) module
which can help synchronize for the modules in different clock frequency.
It can be seen as a "asynchronous fifo". This is a example diagram:

GALS only help transfer the command/data while it doesn't have the
configuring register, thus it has the special "smi" clock and doesn't
have the "apb" clock. From the diagram above, we add "gals0" and
"gals1" clocks for smi-common and add a "gals" clock for smi-larb.
This patch adds gals clock supporting in the SMI. Note that some larbs
may still don't have the "gals" clock like larb1 and larb4 above.

It seems that this tree is becoming the funnel point of lots of smaller

larger over time and does not just contain stuff under drivers/char/ and
drivers/misc.
Lots of small updates all over the place here from different driver

- documentation file movements and updates
- Android binder fixes and updates
- extcon driver updates
- google firmware driver updates
- fsi driver updates

Pull GPIO updates from Linus Walleij:
"This is the big slew of GPIO changes for the v5.3 kernel cycle. This
is mostly incremental work this time.
Three important things:
- The FMC subsystem is deleted through my tree. This happens through
GPIO as its demise was discussed in relation to a patch decoupling
its GPIO implementation from the standard way of handling GPIO. As
it turns out, that is not the only subsystem it reimplements and
the authors think it is better do scratch it and start over using
the proper kernel subsystems than try to polish the rust shiny. See
the commit (ACKed by the maintainers) for details.
- Arnd made a small devres patch that was ACKed by Greg and goes into
the device core.
- SPDX header change colissions may happen, because at times I've
seen that quite a lot changed during the -rc:s in regards to SPDX.
(It is good stuff, tglx has me convinced, and it is worth the
occasional pain.)
Apart from this is is nothing controversial or problematic.

When a gpio_chip wants to request a descriptor from itself
using gpiochip_request_own_desc() it needs to be able to specify
fully how to use the descriptor, notably line inversion
semantics. The workaround in the gpiolib.c can be removed
and cases (such as SPI CS) where we need at times to request
a GPIO with line inversion semantics directly on a chip for
workarounds, can be fully supported with this call.
Fix up some users of the API that weren't really using the
last flag to set up the line as input or output properly
but instead just calling direction setting explicitly
after requesting the line.

For dual-rank LPDDR4, result data for any command is placed in byte 0
and byte 3 of the corresponding MR register by the firmware.
Single-rank RAM was supposed to work the same way. However, due to a
firmware bug, result values are only placed in byte 3 of the
corresponding MR register.
Since byte 3 works for single-rank and dual-rank setups, we change the
Linux driver to always use byte 3, thus returning the correct value in
either case.

In certain situations, such as when returning from low power modes, the
EMIF must re-run hardware leveling to properly restore DDR3 access.
This is accomplished by introducing a new ti-emif-sram-pm call,
ti_emif_run_hw_leveling, to check if DDR3 is in use and if so, trigger
the full write and read leveling processes.

the start of converting DT bindings from free-form text to a
structured format.
- Reworking of initrd address initialization. This moves to using the
phys address instead of virt addr in the DT parsing code. This
rework was motivated by CONFIG_DEV_BLK_INITRD causing unnecessary
rebuilding of lots of files.
- Fix stale phandle entries in phandle cache
- DT overlay validation improvements. This exposed several memory
leak bugs which have been fixed.

Convert string compares of DT node names to use of_node_name_eq helper
instead. This removes direct access to the node name pointer.
For instances using of_node_cmp, this has the side effect of now using

One of the more common cases of allocation size calculations is finding
the size of a structure that has a zero-sized array at the end, along
with memory for some number of elements for that array. For example:
struct foo {
int stuff;
void *entry[];
};
instance = devm_kzalloc(dev, sizeof(struct foo) + sizeof(void *) * count, GFP_KERNEL);
Instead of leaving these open-coded and prone to type mistakes, we can
now use the new struct_size() helper:
instance = devm_kzalloc(dev, struct_size(instance, entry, count), GFP_KERNEL);

Here is the bit set of char/misc drivers for 4.19-rc1
There is a lot here, much more than normal, seems like everyone is
writing new driver subsystems these days... Anyway, major things here
are:
- new FSI driver subsystem, yet-another-powerpc low-level
hardware bus
- gnss, finally an in-kernel GPS subsystem to try to tame all of
the crazy out-of-tree drivers that have been floating around
for years, combined with some really hacky userspace
implementations. This is only for GNSS receivers, but you
have to start somewhere, and this is great to see.
Other than that, there are new slimbus drivers, new coresight drivers,
new fpga drivers, and loads of DT bindings for all of these and existing
drivers.
Full details of everything is in the shortlog.
All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
issues.

The Reset Controller should be registered in the end of probe, otherwise
Memory Controller device goes away if IRQ requesting fails and the Reset
Controller stays registered. To avoid having to unwind the MC probing in
a case of SMMU probe failure, let's simply print the error message without
failing the MC probe. This allows us to just move the Reset Controller
registering before the SMMU registration, reducing code churning. Also
let's not fail MC probe in a case of Reset Controller registration failure
as it doesn't prevent the MC driver to work.

At over 4000 #includes, <linux/platform_device.h> is the 9th most
#included header file in the Linux kernel. It does not need
<linux/mod_devicetable.h>, so drop that header and explicitly add
<linux/mod_devicetable.h> to source files that need it.
4146 #include <linux/platform_device.h>
After this patch, there are 225 files that use <linux/mod_devicetable.h>,
for a reduction of around 3900 times that <linux/mod_devicetable.h>
does not have to be read & parsed.
225 #include <linux/mod_devicetable.h>
This patch was build-tested on 20 different arch-es.
It also makes these drivers SubmitChecklist#1 compliant.

After an RTC+DDR cycle we lose sram context so emif pm functions present
in sram are lost. We can check if the first byte of the original
code in DDR contains the same first byte as the code in sram, and if
they do not match we know we have lost context and must recopy the
functions to the previous address to maintain PM functionality.

We can hook sysfs objects to the parent platform device that we are
created from, no need to have a synthetic dpfe_dev just for that. This
incidentally removes the need for having an index, since we are
guaranteed to have an unique path in the sysfs hiearchy.

In order to reset busy HW properly, memory controller needs to be
involved, otherwise it is possible to get corrupted memory or hang machine
if HW was reset during DMA. Introduce memory client 'hot reset' that will
be used for resetting of busy HW.

Tegra30+ has some minor differences in registers / bits layout compared
to Tegra20. Let's squash Tegra20 driver into the common tegra-mc driver
in a preparation for the upcoming MC hot reset controls implementation,
avoiding code duplication.
Note that this currently doesn't report the value of MC_GART_ERROR_REQ
because it is located within the GART register area and cannot be safely
accessed from the MC driver (this happens to work only by accident). The
proper solution is to integrate the GART driver with the MC driver, much
like is done for the Tegra SMMU, but that is an invasive change and will
be part of a separate patch series.

Currently we are enabling handling of interrupts specific to Tegra124+
which happen to overlap with previous generations. Let's specify
interrupts mask per SoC generation for consistency and in a preparation
of squashing of Tegra20 driver into the common one that will enable
handling of GART faults which may be undesirable by newer generations.

The ISR reads interrupts-enable mask, but doesn't utilize it. Apply the
mask to the interrupt status and don't handle interrupts that MC driver
haven't asked for. Kernel would disable spurious MC IRQ and report the
error. This would happen only in a case of a very severe bug.

Currently aemif is supported in two places separately. By the platform
driver in drivers/memory and by a hand crafted driver in mach-davinci.
We want to drop the latter but also keep the legacy mode. Add support
for board files to the aemif driver.
The new structure in platform data currently only contains the chip
select number, since currently existing users don't require anything
else, but it can be extended in the future.
While extending the platform data struct, add kernel docs describing
its members.

The sleep33xx and sleep43xx files should not depend on a header file
generated in drivers/memory. Remove this dependency and instead allow
both drivers/memory and arch/arm/mach-omap2 to generate all macros
needed in headers local to their own paths.
This fixes an issue where the build fail will when using O= to set a
split object directory and arch/arm/mach-omap2 is built before
drivers/memory with the following error:
.../drivers/memory/emif-asm-offsets.c:1:0: fatal error: can't open
drivers/memory/emif-asm-offsets.s for writing: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.

The DCPU can now send message data in two ways:
- via the data RAM, as before (this is now message type 0)
- via the message RAM (this is message type 1)
In order to support both methods, we check the message type of the
response (bits 31:28) and then treat the offset (bits 27:0)
accordingly.
