34e0247ffc regulator: act8865: fix build when OF is not enabled
act8846_matches and act8865_matches are defined only when OF is
enabled. Move references to them to the act8865_pdata_from_dt()
function to avoid a build error when OF is disabled.

bbb83f38a8 regulator: act8865: set correct number of regulators in pdata
act8865_pdata_from_dt() populates the array pdata->regulators with all
the regulators and then assigns the field init_data only for the ones
actually found in the DT.

The patch changes the value assigned to pdata->num_regulators to match
the size of the array.

48a1e1b50d regulator: act8865: fix parsing of platform data
The driver loops through all available regulators (ACT8865_REG_NUM)
and accesses pdata->regulators[i].platform_data without checking the
actual value of num_regulators in platform data, potentially causing a
invalid memory access.

Fix this and look up the regulator init_data by id in platform data.

4f2352cf52 regulator: tps65090: Set voltage for fixed regulators
According to the tps65090 data manual [0], the DCDC1 and DCDC2
step-down converters and the LDO's have a fixed output voltage.

Add this information to the driver since these fixed regulators
can be used as parent input supply for switches that don't have
an output voltage defined. So the regulator core needs to fetch
the FET parent output voltage if the child voltage is queried.

26988efe11 regulator: core: Allow to get voltage count and list from parent
Load switches are modeled as regulators but they just provide
the voltage of their parent input supply. So, the drivers for
these switches usually neither provide a .list_voltage handler
not set a .n_voltages count. But there is code in the kernel
that assumes that all regulators should be able to provide this
information (e.g: cpufreq and mmc subsystems).

If the voltage count and list are not available for a regulator
and it has a parent input supply, then use the parent values.

handler but there is code in the kernel that assumes that all
regulators should be able to provide its current voltage rail.

So, if the output voltage for a regulator is not available and
it has a parent supply, then pass the voltage of its parent.

404d4df260 regulator: lp872x: Don't set constraints within the regulator driver
Regulator drivers should not be specifying constraints since the valid
configurations depend on how the device is used in a given system, there
is no way to know if a configuration is safe for a given board.

04eca28cde regulator: Add helpers for low-level register access
Add helper functions that allow regulator consumers to obtain low-level
details about the regulator hardware, like the voltage selector register
address and such. These details can be useful when configuring hardware
or firmware that want to do low-level access to regulators, with no
involvement from the kernel.

The use-case for Tegra is a voltage-controlled oscillator clocksource
which has control logic to change the supply voltage via I2C to achieve
a desired output clock rate.

b632815e9a regulator: palmas: Fix SMPS enable/disable/is_enable for tps65917
We use regmap regulator ops to enable/disable and check if regulator
is enabled for various SMPS. However, these depend on valid
enable_reg, enable_mask and enable_value in regulator descriptor.

So, similar to fix we did in commit 318dbb02b5
("regulator: palmas: Fix SMPS enable/disable/is_enabled"), populate the
same for TPS65917 SMPS registration. LDO definitions are already in
place.

Palmas regulator needs to full up the regulator_desc based on PMIC and
type of regulator. However, we dont need to do desc[id] every time. we

cf910b6b71 regulator: palmas: Simplify code by using pointer to palmas_reg_info
Palmas register information is part of the ddata pointer which is used
through out the code by indexing off the driver data array. Instead,
just do the indexing once and use the pointer to further reference
structure fields.

This simplifies code and prevents errors by accessing wrong variables.

a181c1c702 regulator: as3722: Fix incorrect parameter initialization
'name' field was re-initialized and getting overwritten in some
cases possibly due to a typo. Code inspection says the second time

5b01bd11b7 regulator: palmas: fix typo in enable_reg calculation
When setting up .enable_reg for an SMPS regulator, presumably we should
call PALMAS_BASE_TO_REG(PALMAS_SMPS_BASE, ...) rather than using
LDO_BASE. This change makes the LCD panel and HDMI work again on the
NVIDIA Dalmore board anyway.

636f4a31e3 regulator: bcm590xx: fix vbus name
The vbus regulator was not getting its name set. This results
in the sysfs entry being empty. The lack of a bcm590xx_regs[]
table entry also upsets Coverity runs. Add the table entry
so the name gets set properly.

318dbb02b5 regulator: palmas: Fix SMPS enable/disable/is_enabled
We use regmap regulator ops to enable/disable and check if regulator
is enabled for various SMPS. However, these depend on valid
enable_reg, enable_mask and enable_value in regulator descriptor.

Currently we do not populate these for SMPS other than SMPS10, this
results in spurious results as regmap assumes that the values are
valid and ends up reading register 0x0 RTC:SECONDS_REG on Palmas
variants that do have RTC! To fix this, we update proper parameters
for the descriptor fields.

Further, we want to ensure the behavior consistent with logic
prior to commit dbabd624d4, where, once you do a set_mode,
enable/disable ensure the logic remains consistent and configures
Palmas to the configuration that we set with set_mode (since the
configuration register is common). To do this, we can rely on the
regulator core's regulator_register behavior where the regulator
descriptor pointer provided by the regulator driver is stored. (no
reallocation and copy is done). This lets us update the enable_value
post registration, to remain consistent with the mode we configure as
part of set_mode.

6b7f2d82d5 regulator: palmas: Fix SMPS list for 0V
get_voltage_sel reads from SMPS register - if the read selector value
is 0, the SMPS is actually disabled - So, this is in addition to the
ctrl_register that may also be used to enable/disable the SMPS.

The original logic(prior to commit dbabd624d4) used to be:

To handle this scenario, with the transition to regulator_list
implementation, we seem to have missed the data necessary to mark as
one of the valid entries as "0" 'disabled regulator' which results in
0 volts - So, stick with pre-existing logic.

Without this added to the list, palmas regulator driver,
on probe, attempts to setup constraints and in the case of
OMAP5uEVM, SMPS9 (which is mapped for 2v1 audio supply) fails in
regulator_list_voltage_linear_range mapping of '0', and as a fall back
of constraints not being applied, the entire regulator list is not
enumerated due to assumption that something system wide has gone bad
on with the PMIC.

the print is a little more informative to explain the nature of the

is a little more informative for debugging the error.

2050afde19 regulator: as3722: Make 0 a valid selector
As of commit 064d5cd110 (regulator: core: Fix the init of DT defined
fixed regulators) the regulator core tries to query the current voltage
of a regulator when applying constraints. This exposes a bug in the
AS3722 regulator driver which fails to read the voltage of disabled
regulators. The reason is that the hardware is programmed to a selector
of 0, but none of the voltage tables include 0 as a valid selector. The
datasheets indicate that 0 is a valid selector when the regulators are
powered off.

To fix this, add a range including selector 0 to the voltage tables.

fd482a3e3e regulator: core: Disable unused regulators after deferred probing is done
regulator_init_complete does a scan of regulators which dont have
always-on or consumers are automatically disabled as being unused.
However, with deferred probing, late_initcall() is too soon to
declare a regulator as unused as the regulator itself might not
have registered due to defferal - Example: A regulator deffered due
to i2bus not available which in turn is deffered due to pinctrl
availability.

Since deferred probing is done in late_initcall(), do the cleanup of
unused regulators by regulator_init_complete in late_initcall_sync
instead of late_initcall.

In the spirit of conservatism that governs our general approach to
permissions it is better if we don't touch regulators we weren't explicitly
given permissions to control. This avoids the need to explicitly specify
unknown regulators in DT as always on, if a regulator is not otherwise
involved in software control it can be omitted from the DT.

Regulators explicitly given constraints in DT still need to have an always
on constraint specified as before.

When fixed_uV is set and n_voltage is 1, regulator core will return

share the field (offset 4) in ramp delay register S2MPA01_REG_RAMP2.

and actually the ramp delay of buck1 was never set.

3b9334ac83 mfd: vexpress: Convert custom func API to regmap
Components of the Versatile Express platform (configuration
microcontrollers on motherboard and daughterboards in particular)
talk to each other over a custom configuration bus. They
provide miscellaneous functions (from clock generator control
to energy sensors) which are represented as platform devices
(and Device Tree nodes). The transactions on the bus can
be generated by different "bridges" in the system, some
of which are universal for the whole platform (for the price
of high transfer latencies), others restricted to a subsystem
(but much faster).

Until now drivers for such functions were using custom "func"
API, which is being replaced in this patch by regmap calls.
This required:

* a rework (and move to drivers/bus directory, as suggested
  by Samuel and Arnd) of the config bus core, which is much
  simpler now and uses device model infrastructure (class)
  to keep track of the bridges; non-DT case (soon to be
  retired anyway) is simply covered by a special device
  registration function

* the new config-bus driver also takes over device population,
  so there is no need for special matching table for
  of_platform_populate nor "simple-bus" hack in the arm64
  model dtsi file (relevant bindings documentation has
  been updated); this allows all the vexpress devices
  fit into normal device model, making it possible
  to remove plenty of early inits and other hacks in
  the near future

* adaptation of the syscfg bridge implementation in the
  sysreg driver, again making it much simpler; there is
  a special case of the "energy" function spanning two
  registers, where they should be both defined in the tree
  now, but backward compatibility is maintained in the code

* modification of the relevant drivers:

  * hwmon - just a straight-forward API change
  * power/reset driver - API change
  * regulator - API change plus error handling
    simplification
  * osc clock driver - this one required larger rework
    in order to turn in into a standard platform driver

ed11f1ead5 regulator: tps65090: Make FETs more reliable by adding retries
An issue was discovered with tps65090 where sometimes the FETs
wouldn't actually turn on when requested (they would report
overcurrent).  The most problematic FET was the one used for the LCD
backlight on the Samsung ARM Chromebook (FET1).  Problems were
especially prevalent when the device was plugged in to AC power (when
the backlight voltage was higher).

Mitigate the problem by adding retries on the enables of the FETs,
which works around the problem fairly effectively.

8a82b408ac regulator: max14577: Add support for MAX77836 regulators
Add support for MAX77836 chipset and its additional two LDO regulators.
These LDO regulators are controlled by the PMIC block with additional
regmap (different I2C slave address).

The MAX77836 charger and safeout regulators are almost identical to
MAX14577. The registers layout is the same, except values for charger's
current. The patch adds simple mapping between device type and supported
current by the charger regulator.

1cb7b43f67 regulator: pbias: Fix is_enabled callback implementation
The is_enabled implementation is wrong in some cases:
e.g. for pbias_mmc_omap5: enable_mask is : BIT(27) | BIT(25) | BIT(26)
However, pbias_regulator_enable() only sets BIT(27) | BIT(26) bits.
So is_enabled callback will always return false in this case.
Fix the logic to compare the register value with info->enable rather than
info->enable_mask.

97f53d710b regulator: s2mps11: Add external GPIO control for S2MPS14
Add support for external control over GPIO for LDO10, LDO11 and LDO12
S2MPS14 regulators. External control can be turned on by writing 0x0 to
control register which in case of other regulators is used for disabling
them. These LDO10-LDO12 regulators can be disabled only by I2C GPIO or
PWREN pin so the patch actually allows proper way of disabling them.

Additionally the GPIO control has two benefits:
 - It is faster than toggling it over I2C bus.
 - It allows disabling the regulator during suspend to RAM; The AP will
   enable it during resume.

63c7c9e16c regulator: core: Get and put regulator of_node
Currently the regulator core does not take an additional reference to
the of_node it is passed. This means that the caller must ensure that
the of_node is valid for the duration of the regulator's existance.
It is reasonable for the framework to assume it is passed a valid
of_node but seems onerous for it to assume the caller will keep the node
valid for the life-time of the regulator, especially when
devm_regulator_register is used and there will likely be no code in the
driver called at the point it would be safe to put the of_node.

This patch adds an additional of_node_get when the regulator is
registered and an of_node_put when it is unregistered in the core. This
means individual drivers are free to put their of_node references at the
end of probe letting the regulator core handling it from there. This
simplifies code on the driver side.

Currently, of_regulator_match does not increment the reference count of
the of_nodes it takes new references to. This could cause the node
pointer held to be invalid, by the time it is passed to the regulator

f4fbb3ce34 regulator: s5m8767: Fix carried over ena_gpio assignment
During registration of regulators if external control for regulator was
set in DTS the ena_gpio and ena_gpio_flags fields of regulator_config
were set to proper values.

However the same regulator_config was used in next iterations of loop so
the ena_gpio fields carried over to next regulators.

The issue was not observed as ena_gpio is supported only for Buck9
regulator which is often the last regulator parsed from DTS.
Be sure to clear ena_gpio config fields before registering the
regulator.

4a5d301328 regulator: Add new driver for ST's PWM controlled voltage regulators
On some STMicroelectronics hardware reside regulators consisting
partly of a PWM input connected to the feedback loop. As the PWM
duty-cycle is varied the output voltage adapts. This driver
allows us to vary the output voltage by adapting the PWM input
duty-cycle.

114c5748d5 regulator: anatop: Remove checking control_reg in [set|get]_voltage_sel
Remove checking control_reg in [set|get]_voltage_sel and then convert to use
regulator_[set|get]_voltage_sel_regmap for [set|get]_voltage_sel callbacks.

The anatop-reg-offset property is a required property rather than optional
property. So the question is what is the meaning of setting anatop-reg-offset
to 0? If 0 is a valid setting for anatop-reg-offset and it has special meaning,
we had better document it in the binding document. Otherwise, remove the testing
for control_reg in the driver.

No anatop voltage regulator node in the dts files set anatop-reg-offset to 0.
So I think it's safe to remove testing if control_reg is 0.

a35ff28616 regulator: arizona-ldo1: Correct default regulator init_data
Both 5102 and 8997 have the regulator capable of supplying 1.8V, and the
voltage step from the 5110 regulator is different from what is specified
in the default description. This patch updates the default regulator

8997.

This patch extends the regulator helpers to account for device that use
multiple bits for control when using regmap enable/disable/bypass ops.

The actual regulator helpers wrongly assume that the regulator control
is always performed using single bits, using in the regulator_desc
struct only two parameters *_reg and *_mask defining register and mask
for control.

This patch extends this struct and introduces the helpers to take into
account devices where control is performed using multiple bits and
specific multi-bit values are used for enabling/disabling/bypassing the
regulator.

3e80f95bfc regulator: s2mps11: Copy supported regulators from initconst
Add __initconst to 'regulator_desc' array with supported regulators.
During probe choose how many and which regulators will be supported
according to device ID. Then copy the 'regulator_desc' array to
allocated memory so the regulator core can use it.

Additionally allocate array of of_regulator_match() dynamically (based
on number of regulators) instead of allocation on the stack.

This is needed for supporting different devices in s2mps11
driver and actually prepares the regulator driver for supporting the
S2MPS14 device.

Code for supporting the S2MPS14 device will add its own array of
'regulator_desc' (also marked as __initconst). This way memory footprint
of the driver will be reduced (approximately 'regulators_desc' array for
S2MPS11 occupies 5 kB on 32-bit ARM, for S2MPS14 will occupy 3 kB).

66fda75f47 regulator: core: Replace direct ops->disable usage
There are many places where ops->disable is called directly. Instead we
should use _regulator_do_disable() which also handles gpio regulators.

To be able to use the wrapper function from _regulator_force_disable(),
I moved the _notifier_call_chain() call from _regulator_do_disable() to
_regulator_disable(). This way, _regulator_force_disable() can use
different flags for _notifier_call_chain() without calling it twice.

30c2197103 regulator: core: Replace direct ops->enable usage
There are some direct ops->enable in the regulator core driver. This is
a potential issue as the function _regulator_do_enable() handles gpio
regulators and the normal ops->enable calls. These gpio regulators are
simply ignored when ops->enable is called directly.

One possible bug is that boot-on and always-on gpio regulators are not
enabled on registration.

This patch replaces all ops->enable calls by _regulator_do_enable.

08221fc4e7 regulator: max14577: Fix invalid return value on DT parse success
This fixes bug introduced in 667a6b7a (regulator: max14577: Add missing
of_node_put). The DTS parsing function returned number of matched
regulators as success status which then was compared against 0 in probe.

Result was a probe fail after successful parsing the DTS:
max14577-regulator: probe of max14577-regulator failed with error 2

d38018f201 regulator: anatop: Add bypass support to digital LDOs
The ARM, PU, and SOC LDOs in the i.MX6 PMU can operate
in bypass mode. This allows to use external switching
regulators for cpu voltage scaling.

Since bypass and power gating modes are not configured
with their own bits, but via the voltage target bitfield,
store bypass state to be restored when reenabling the
regulator.

The ARM, PU, and SOC LDOs in the i.MX6 PMU can completely gate
their power output. Since power gating is configured by writing
zero to the voltage target bitfield,, store a copy of the
voltage selector to be restored when reenabling the regulator.

Thus change ti-abb-regulator to use the helper for element counting and
of_property_read_u32_index for retrieval of individual values.

This makes it possible to remove the raw access to the property entirely.

ebf6dad0de regulator: da9063: Bug fix when setting max voltage on LDOs 5-11
Bug fix to allow the setting of maximum voltage for certain LDOs.

What the bug is:

There is a problem caused by an invalid calculation of n_voltages
in the driver. This n_voltages value has the potential to be
different for each regulator.

The value for linear_min_sel is set as DA9063_V##regl_name#
which can be different depending upon the regulator. This is
chosen according to the following definitions in the DA9063
registers.h file:

DA9063_VLDO1_BIAS	0
DA9063_VLDO2_BIAS	0
DA9063_VLDO3_BIAS	0
DA9063_VLDO4_BIAS	0
DA9063_VLDO5_BIAS	2
DA9063_VLDO6_BIAS	2
DA9063_VLDO7_BIAS	2
DA9063_VLDO8_BIAS	2
DA9063_VLDO9_BIAS	3
DA9063_VLDO10_BIAS	2
DA9063_VLDO11_BIAS	2

The calculation for n_voltages is valid for LDOs whose BIAS value
is zero but this is not correct for those LDOs which have a
non-zero value.

What the fix is:

In order to take into account the non-zero linear_min_sel value which
is set for the regulators LDO5, LDO6, LDO7, LDO8, LDO9, LDO10 and
LDO11, the calculation for n_voltages should take into account the
missing term defined by DA9063_V##regl_name#.

This will in turn allow the core constraints calculation to set the
maximum voltage limits correctly and therefore allow users to apply
the maximum expected voltage to all of the LDOs.
