88464106f9 [media] au8522: Properly set default brightness
The chip's default value for the brightness didn't match what we were sending
back in the queryctrl ioctl(), so if the application actually set the
brightness to the "default", it would actually end up being way too bright.

b9ede79ada [media] add a driver for mb86a20s
This adds the trivial bits to mb86a20s. As the driver won't touch

3a509bb11a [media] Re-write the s921 frontend
On our tests with Leadership ISDBT, the s921 frontend were not work. As its
design contained some weird things, it ended to be easier to just re-write
it, getting another frontend as an example (cx24123).

As the old s921 driver weren't used, there's no regression. Some info from
the old frontend were used as a way to double check the behavior that were
noticed on the USB dumps retrieved from Leadership driver.

7655e59494 [media] af9015: Fix max I2C message size when used with tda18271
Changeset 1724c8fa7e added an option to change
the maximum I2C size to 8 bytes. However, it forgot to replace the previous
usage at af9015 to use the newly defined macro value
(TDA18271_16_BYTE_CHUNK_INIT).

A latter changeset (e350d44fed) extended the
possible values for .small_i2c field and, instead of using a random sequence
of numbers, it used a number that makes more sense (e. g. the actual limit,
in terms of bytes).

However, as af9015 were using .small_i2c = 1, this become undefined, and the
restriction of a max size of 16 was gone.

While here, fix the reported msg size at tda18271-common.c.

52065c513a [media] firedtv: add parameter to fake ca_system_ids in CA_INFO
The Digital Everywhere firmware have the shortcoming that ca_info_enq and
ca_info are not supported. This means that we can never retrieve the correct
ca_system_id to present in the CI message CA_INFO. Currently the driver uses
the application id retrieved using app_info_req and app_info, but this id
only match the correct ca_system_id as given in ca_info in some cases.
This patch adds a parameter to the driver in order for the user to override
what will be returned in the CA_INFO CI message. Up to four ca_system_ids can
be specified.
This is needed for users with CAMs that have different manufacturer id and
ca_system_id and that uses applications that take this into account, like
MythTV.

6038f373a3 llseek: automatically add .llseek fop
All file_operations should get a .llseek operation so we can make
nonseekable_open the default for future file operations without a
.llseek pointer.

The three cases that we can automatically detect are no_llseek, seq_lseek
and default_llseek. For cases where we can we can automatically prove that
the file offset is always ignored, we use noop_llseek, which maintains
the current behavior of not returning an error from a seek.

New drivers should normally not use noop_llseek but instead use no_llseek
and call nonseekable_open at open time. Existing drivers can be converted
to do the same when the maintainer knows for certain that no user code
relies on calling seek on the device file.

The generated code is often incorrectly indented and right now contains
comments that clarify for each added line why a specific variant was
chosen. In the version that gets submitted upstream, the comments will
be gone and I will manually fix the indentation, because there does not
seem to be a way to do that using coccinelle.

Some amount of new code is currently sitting in linux-next that should get
the same modifications, which I will do at the end of the merge window.

Many thanks to Julia Lawall for helping me learn to write a semantic
patch that does all this.

===== begin semantic patch =====
// This adds an llseek= method to all file operations,

// - use seq_lseek for sequential files
// - use default_llseek if we know we access f_pos
// - use noop_llseek if we know we don't access f_pos,
// but we still want to allow users to call lseek

04cab131ce V4L/DVB: rc-core: increase repeat time
As reported by Anton Blanchard <anton@samba.org>, double IR events on
2.6.36-rc2 and a DViCO FusionHDTV DVB-T Dual Express are happening:

[ 1351.032084] ir_keydown: i2c IR (FusionHDTV): key down event, key 0x0067, scancode 0x0051
[ 1351.281284] ir_keyup: keyup key 0x0067

ie one key down event and one key up event 250ms later.

So, we need to increase the repeat timeout, to avoid this bug to hit.

As we're doing it at core, this fix is not needed anymore at dib0700 driver.

3bfb317f97 V4L/DVB: Don't identify PV SBTVD Hybrid as a DibCom device
As reported by Carlos, Prolink Pixelview SBTVD Hybrid is based on
Conexant cx231xx + Fujitsu 86A20S demodulator. However, both shares
the same USB ID. So, we need to use USB bcdDevice, in order to
properly discover what's the board.

We know for sure that bcd 0x100 is used for a dib0700 device, while
bcd 0x4001 is used for a cx23102 device. This patch reserves two ranges,
the first one from 0x0000-0x3f00 for dib0700, and the second from
0x4000-0x4fff for cx231xx devices.

This may need fixes in the future, as we get access to other devices.

Those breakages seem to be caused by two bad things at IR_CORE Kconfig:

1) cx23885 is using select for IR_CORE;

844a9e93d7 V4L/DVB: sms: Convert IR support to use the Remote Controller core
Rewrites the siano IR implementation. The previous implementation were
non-standard. As such, it has issues if more than one device registers IR,
as there used to have some static constants used during protocol decoding
phase. Also, it used to implement its on RAW decoder, and only for RC5.

The new code uses RC core subsystem for handling IR. This brings several
new features to the driver, including:
	- Allow to dynamically replace the IR keycodes;
	- Supports all existing raw decoders (JVC, NEC, RC-5, RC-6, SONY);
	- Supports lirc dev;
	- Doesn't have race conditions when more than one sms IR is
	  registered;
	- The code size for the IR implementation is very small;
	- it exports the IR features via /sys/class/rc.

The config Option DVB_DIBCOM_DEBUG was dropped while removing the dibusb

places of the kernel config.

Instead of just removing the debug capability, the better is to just remove
the bad dependency, making the modprobe function always visible.

f6a20eb1a2 V4L/DVB: Add FE_CAN_TURBO_FEC
Some (North American) providers use a non-standard mode called
"8psk turbo fec". Since there is no flag in the driver that
would allow an application to determine whether a particular
device can handle "turbo fec", the attached patch introduces
FE_CAN_TURBO_FEC.

Since there is no flag in the SI data that would indicate
that a transponder uses "turbo fec", VDR will assume that
all 8psk transponders on DVB-S use "turbo fec".

804258c95f V4L/DVB: dvb: add lgdt3304 support to lgdt3305 driver
There's a currently-unused lgdt3304 demod driver, which leaves a lot to
be desired as far as functionality. The 3304 is unsurprisingly quite
similar to the 3305, and empirical testing yeilds far better results
and more complete functionality by merging 3304 support into the 3305
driver. (For example, the current lgdt3304 driver lacks support for
signal strength, snr, ucblocks, etc., which we get w/the lgdt3305).

For the moment, not dropping the lgdt3304 driver, and its still up to
a given device's config setup to choose which demod driver to use, but
I'd suggest dropping the 3304 driver entirely.

As a follow-up to this patch, I've got another patch that adds support
for the KWorld PlusTV 340U (ATSC) em2870-based tuner stick, driving
its lgdt3304 demod via this lgdt3305 driver, which is what I used to
successfully test this patch with both VSB_8 and QAM_256 signals.

A few pieces are still a touch crude, but I think its a solid start,
as well as much cleaner and more feature-complete than the existing
lgdt3304 driver.

33e553fe2b firewire: remove an unused function argument
void (*fw_address_callback_t)(..., int speed, ...) is the speed that a
remote node chose to transmit a request to us. In case of split
transactions, firewire-core will transmit the response at that speed.

Upper layer drivers on the other hand (firewire-net, -sbp2, firedtv, and
userspace drivers) cannot do anything useful with that speed datum,
except log it for debug purposes. But data that is merely potentially
(not even actually) used for debug purposes does not belong into the API.

997ea58eb9 USB: rename usb_buffer_alloc() and usb_buffer_free() users
For more clearance what the functions actually do,

  usb_buffer_alloc() is renamed to usb_alloc_coherent()
  usb_buffer_free()  is renamed to usb_free_coherent()

They should only be used in code which really needs DMA coherency.

All call sites have been changed accordingly, except for staging
drivers.

 - dvb_unregister_frontend :
 - stop kernel thread with dvb_frontend_stop :
  - fepriv->exit = 1;
  - thread loop catch stop event and break while loop

fdafc96c91 V4L/DVB: ngene: properly support boards where channel 0 isn't a TS input
The current code assumes that channel zero is always a TS input, which would
result in an oops if the "one_adapter" modprobe option is 1 (which it is by
default) and the board in question has something else on channel zero (which
is the case for the Avermedia m780, which has it's analog input wired to UVI1)

The code now explicitly tracks the first adapter created and ensures that
other channels cannot accidentially be associated with a NULL adapter.

Also, eliminate what appears to be a typo where all of the channel parameters
are getting associated with stream zero's properties, which will work if you
happen to have a dual stream board with the exact same configuration, but if
they differ then the second stream is going to end up with the first stream's
configuration.

32ec4576c3 V4L/DVB: media/az6027: doing dma on the stack
I changed the dma buffers to use allocated memory instead of stack
memory.

The reason for this is documented in Documentation/DMA-API-HOWTO.txt
under the section: "What memory is DMA'able?" That document was only
added a couple weeks ago and there are still lots of modules which
haven't been corrected yet. Btw. Smatch includes a pretty good test to
find places which use stack memory as a dma buffer. That's how I found
these.  (http://smatch.sf.net).

b187913c77 V4L/DVB: Add FE_CAN_PSK_8 to allow apps to identify PSK_8 capable DVB devices
The enum fe_caps provides flags that allow an application to detect
whether a device is capable of handling various modulation types etc.
A flag for detecting PSK_8, however, is missing.
This patch adds the flag FE_CAN_PSK_8 to frontend.h and implements
it for the gp8psk-fe.c and cx24116.c driver (apparently the only ones
with PSK_8). Only the gp8psk-fe.c has been explicitly tested, though.
