761c251028 hwrng: omap - use devm_clk_get() instead of of_clk_get()
The omap-rng driver currently uses of_clk_get() to get a reference to
the clock, but never releases that reference. This commit fixes that by
using devm_clk_get() instead.

45c2fdde01 hwrng: omap - write registers after enabling the clock
Commit 383212425c ("hwrng: omap - Add device variant for SafeXcel
IP-76 found in Armada 8K") added support for the SafeXcel IP-76 variant
of the IP. This modification included getting a reference and enabling a
clock. Unfortunately, this was done *after* writing to the
RNG_INTMASK_REG register. This generally works fine when the driver is
built-in because the clock might have been left enabled by the
bootloader, but fails short when the driver is built as a module: it
causes a system hang because a register is being accessed while the
clock is not enabled.

This commit fixes that by making the register access *after* enabling
the clock.

This issue was found by the kernelci.org testing effort.

f0d5a11200 hwrng: omap - Don't prefix the probe message with OMAP
So far, this driver was only used for OMAP SoCs. However, if a device
variant is added for an IP block that has nothing to do with the OMAP
platform, the message "OMAP Random Number Generator Ver" is displayed
anyway. Instead of hardcoding "OMAP" into this message, we decide to
only display "Random Number Generator". As dev_info is already
pre-pending the message with the name of the device, we have enough
informations.

e54feeb0db hwrng: omap - Add support for 128-bit output of data
So far, this driver only supports up to 64 bits of output data generated
by an RNG. Some IP blocks, like the SafeXcel IP-76 supports up to 128
bits of output data. This commits renames registers descriptions
OUTPUT_L_REG and OUTPUT_H_REG to OUTPUT_0_REG and OUPUT_1_REG,
respectively. It also adds two new values to the enumeration of existing
registers: OUTPUT_2_REG and OUTPUT_3_REG.

b23d2d92ce hwrng: omap - Remove global definition of hwrng
The omap-rng driver currently assumes that there will only ever be a
single instance of an RNG device. For this reason, there is a statically
allocated struct hwrng, with a fixed name. However, registering two
struct hwrng with the same isn't accepted by the RNG framework, so we
need to switch to a dynamically allocated struct hwrng, each using a
different name. Then, we define the name of this hwrng to "dev_name(dev)",
so the name of the data structure is unique per device.

69eb4d0190 hwrng: omap - Switch to non-obsolete read API implementation
The ".data_present" and ".data_read" operations are marked as OBSOLETE
in the hwrng API. We have to use the ".read" operation instead. It makes
the driver simpler and moves the busy loop, that waits until enough data
is generated, to the read function. We simplify this step by only
checking the status of the engine, if there is data, we copy the data to
the output buffer and the amout of copied data is returned to the caller,
otherwise zero is returned. The hwrng core will re-call the read operation
as many times as required until enough data has been copied.

ad8529fde9 hwrng: omap - Only fail if pm_runtime_get_sync returns < 0
Currently omap-rng checks the return value of pm_runtime_get_sync and
reports failure if anything is returned, however it should be checking
if ret < 0 as pm_runtime_get_sync return 0 on success but also can return
1 if the device was already active which is not a failure case. Only

656d7e7ee3 hwrng: omap - Change RNG_CONFIG_REG to RNG_CONTROL_REG in init
omap4_rng_init() checks bit 10 of the RNG_CONFIG_REG to determine whether
the RNG is already running before performing any initiliasation. This is not
the correct register to check, as the enable bit is in RNG_CONFIG_CONTROL.
Read from RNG_CONTROL_REG instead.

1a5addfe82 hwrng: omap - Change RNG_CONFIG_REG to RNG_CONTROL_REG when checking and disabling TRNG
In omap4_rng_init(), a check of bit 10 of the RNG_CONFIG_REG is done to determine
whether the RNG is running. This is suspicious firstly due to the use of
RNG_CONTROL_ENABLE_TRNG_MASK and secondly because the same mask is written to
RNG_CONTROL_REG after configuration of the FROs. Similar suspicious logic is
repeated in omap4_rng_cleanup() when RNG_CONTROL_REG masked with
RNG_CONTROL_ENABLE_TRNG_MASK is read, the same mask bit is cleared, and then
written to RNG_CONFIG_REG. Unless the TRNG is enabled with one bit in RNG_CONTROL
and disabled with another in RNG_CONFIG and these bits are mirrored in some way,
I believe that the TRNG is not really shutting off.

Apart from the strange logic, I have reason to suspect that the OMAP4 related
code in this driver is driving an Inside Secure IP hardware RNG and strongly
suspect that bit 10 of RNG_CONFIG_REG is one of the bits configuring the
sampling rate of the FROs. This option is by default set to 0 and is not being
set anywhere in omap-rng.c. Reading this bit during omap4_rng_init() will
always return 0. It will remain 0 because ~(value of TRNG_MASK in control) will
always be 0, because the TRNG is never shut off. This is of course presuming
that the OMAP4 features the Inside Secure IP.

I'm interested in knowing what the guys at TI think about this, as only they
can confirm or deny the detailed structure of these registers.

Because SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() produces an empty omap_rng_pm structure in

27615a97b2 ARM: OMAP: Trivial driver changes to remove include plat/cpu.h
Drivers should not use cpu_is_omap or cpu_class_is_omap macros,
they should be private to the platform init code. And we'll be
removing plat/cpu.h and only have a private soc.h for the
arch/arm/*omap* code.

This patch is intended as preparation for the core omap changes
and removes the need to include plat/cpu.h from several drivers.
This is needed for the ARM common zImage support.

These changes are OK to do because:

- omap-rng.c does not need plat/cpu.h

- omap-aes.c and omap-sham.c get the proper platform_data
  passed to them so they don't need extra checks in the driver

- omap-dma.c and omap-pcm.c can test the arch locally as
  omap1 and omap2 cannot be compiled together because of
  conflicting compiler flags

2c799cef4d ARM: OMAP: Remove plat/io.h by splitting it into mach/io.h and mach/hardware.h
This is needed to minimize io.h so the SoC specific io.h
for ARMs can removed.

Note that minimal driver changes for DSS and RNG are needed to
include cpu.h for SoC detection macros.

6ba1a31ef1 hwrng: omap - add missing clk_put
Convert a return to a jump to an existing label that calls clk_put.

A simplified version of the semantic match that finds this problem is as
follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/)

// <smpl>
@r exists@
expression e1,e2;
statement S;
@@

e1 = clk_get@p1(...);
... when != e1 = e2
    when != clk_put(e1)
    when any
if (...) { ... when != clk_put(e1)
               when != if (...) { ... clk_put(e1) ... }

c652759b6a hwrng: omap - Convert release_resource to release_region/release_mem_region
Request_region should be used with release_region, not release_resource.

The local variable mem, storing the result of request_mem_region, is
dropped and instead the pointer res is stored in the drvdata field of the
platform device. This information is retrieved in omap_rng_remove to
release the region. The drvdata field is not used elsewhere.

The semantic match that finds this problem is as follows:
(http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/)

// <smpl>
@@
expression x,E;
@@
(
*x = request_region(...)
|
*x = request_mem_region(...)
)
... when != release_region(x)
    when != x = E
* release_resource(x);

9f171adc19 hwrng: omap - Move probe function to .devinit.text
A pointer to omap_rng_probe is passed to the core via
platform_driver_register and so the function must not disappear when the
.init sections are discarded. Otherwise (if also having HOTPLUG=y)
unbinding and binding a device to the driver via sysfs will result in an
oops as does a device being registered late.

An alternative to this patch is using platform_driver_probe instead of
platform_driver_register plus removing the pointer to the probe function
from the struct platform_driver.

c49a7f182c [HWRNG] omap: Minor updates
Minor cleanups to the OMAP RNG:

 - Comment update re RNG status:
     * yes, it works on 16xx; "rngtest" is quite happy
     * it's fast enough that polling vs IRQ is a non-issue
 - Get rid of BUG_ON
 - Help GCC not be stupid about inlining (object code shrink)
 - Remove "sparse" warning
 - Cope with new hotplug rule requiring "platform:" modalias

And make the file header match kernel conventions.

96de0e252c Convert files to UTF-8 and some cleanups
* Convert files to UTF-8.

  * Also correct some people's names
    (one example is Eißfeldt, which was found in a source file.
    Given that the author used an ß at all in a source file
    indicates that the real name has in fact a 'ß' and not an 'ss',
    which is commonly used as a substitute for 'ß' when limited to
    7bit.)

  * Correct town names (Goettingen -> Göttingen)
