Recently in commit 8a964f44e0
("iwlwifi: always copy first 16 bytes of commands") we fixed
the problem that the hardware writes back to the command and
that could overwrite parts of the data that was still needed
and would thus be corrupted.
Investigating this problem more closely we found that this
write-back isn't really ordered very well with respect to
other DMA traffic. Therefore, it sometimes happened that the
write-back occurred after unmapping the command again which
is clearly an issue and could corrupt the next allocation
that goes to that spot, or (better) cause IOMMU faults.
To fix this, allocate coherent memory for the first 16 bytes
of each command, containing the write-back part, and use it
for all queues. All the dynamic DMA mappings only need to be
TO_DEVICE then. This ensures that even when the write-back
happens "too late" it can't hit memory that has been freed
or a mapping that doesn't exist any more.
Since now the actual command is no longer modified, we can
also remove CMD_WANT_HCMD and get rid of the DMA sync that
was necessary to update the scratch pointer.

Supporting 8K A-MSDU means that we need to allocate order 1
pages for every Rx packet. Even when there is no traffic.
This adds stress on the memory manager. The handling of
compound pages is also less trivial for the memory manager
and not using them will make the allocation code run faster
although I didn't really measure.
Eric also pointed out that having huge buffers with little
data in them is not very nice towards the TCP stack since
the truesize of the skb is huge. This doesn't allow TCP
to have a big Rx window.
See https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/2167711/ for details.
Note that very few vendors will actually send A-MSDU.

The reason we mapped them bidirectionally was that not doing
so had caused IOMMU exceptions, due to the fact that the HW
writes back into the command. Now that the first part of the
command including the write-back part is always in the first
buffer, we don't need to map the remaining buffer(s) bidi
and can get rid of the special-casing for commands.
This is a requisite patch for another one to fix DMA mapping.

I'm not sure why, but the hlist for each entry iterators were conceived
list_for_each_entry(pos, head, member)
The hlist ones were greedy and wanted an extra parameter:
hlist_for_each_entry(tpos, pos, head, member)
Why did they need an extra pos parameter? I'm not quite sure. Not only
they don't really need it, it also prevents the iterator from looking
exactly like the list iterator, which is unfortunate.
Besides the semantic patch, there was some manual work required:
- Fix up the actual hlist iterators in linux/list.h
- Fix up the declaration of other iterators based on the hlist ones.
- A very small amount of places were using the 'node' parameter, this
was modified to use 'obj->member' instead.
- Coccinelle didn't handle the hlist_for_each_entry_safe iterator
properly, so those had to be fixed up manually.
The semantic patch which is mostly the work of Peter Senna Tschudin is here:

On many different chips, important aspects of the MAC state are not
fully cleared by a warm reset. This can show up as tx/rx hangs, those
annoying "DMA failed to stop in 10 ms..." messages or other quirks.
On AR933x, the chip can occasionally get stuck in a way that only a
driver unload/reload or a reboot would bring it back to life.
With this patch, a full reset is issued when bringing the chip out of
FULL-SLEEP state (after idle), or if either Rx or Tx was not shut down
properly. This makes the DMA related error messages disappear completely
in my tests on AR933x, and the chip does not get stuck anymore.

This USB ethernet adapter was purchased in anodyne packaging
from the computer store adjacent to linux.conf.au 2013 in
Canberra (Australia). A web search shows other recent
purchasers in Lancaster (UK) and Seattle (USA). Just like an
emergent virus, our age of e-commerce and airmail allows
underdocumented hardware to spread around the world instantly
using the vector of ridiculously low prices.
Paige Thompson, infected via eBay, discovered that the HG20F9
is a copy of the Asix 88772B; many viruses copy the RNA of
other viruses. See Paige's work at
<https://github.com/paigeadele/HG20F9>.
This patch uses her discovery to update the restructured Asix
driver in the current kernel.

HG20F9 uses the Vendor ID 0x066b assigned to Linksys Inc.
For the present there is no clash of Product ID 0x20f9.

When stations are removed while packets are in the queue,
we drain the queues first, and then remove the stations.
If this happens in AP mode while the interface is removed
the MAC context might be removed from the firmware before
we removed the station(s), resulting in a SYSASSERT 3421.
This is because we remove the MAC context from the FW in
stop_ap(), but only flush the station drain work later in
remove_interface().
Refactor the code a bit to have a common MAC context

The FH hardware will always write back to the scratch field
in commands, even host commands not just TX commands, which
can overwrite parts of the command. This is problematic if
the command is re-used (with IWL_HCMD_DFL_NOCOPY) and can
cause calibration issues.
Address this problem by always putting at least the first
16 bytes into the buffer we also use for the command header
and therefore make the DMA engine write back into this.
For commands that are smaller than 16 bytes also always map
enough memory for the DMA engine to write back to.

We must only ever stop TX queues when they are full or the net device
is not 'ready' so far as the net core, and specifically the watchdog,
is concerned. Otherwise, the watchdog may fire *immediately* if no
packets have been added to the queue in the last 5 seconds.
The device is ready if all the following are true:
(a) It has a qdisc
(b) It is marked present
(c) It is running
(d) The link is reported up
(a) and (c) are normally true, and must not be changed by a driver.
(d) is under our control, but fake link changes may disturb userland.
This leaves (b). We already mark the device absent during reset
and self-test, but we need to do the same during MTU changes and ring
reallocation. We don't need to do this when the device is brought
down because then (c) is already false.

We assume that the mapping between DMA and virtual addresses is done
on whole pages, so we can find the page offset of an RX buffer using
the lower bits of the DMA address. However, swiotlb maps in units of
2K, breaking this assumption.
Add an explicit page_offset field to struct efx_rx_buffer.

We may currently allocate two RX DMA buffers to a page, and only unmap
the page when the second is completed. We do not sync the first RX
buffer to be completed; this can result in packet loss or corruption
if the last RX buffer completed in a NAPI poll is the first in a page
and is not DMA-coherent. (In the middle of a NAPI poll, we will
handle the following RX completion and unmap the page *before* looking
at the content of the first buffer.)

Noticed that vmxnet3's get_ringparam function was returning the summation of all
ring buffers on a NIC, rather than just the size of any one ring. This causes
problems when a vmxnet3 instance has multiple queues, as ethtool, when setting
ring parameters, first gets the current ring parameters to set the existing
values in the set_ringparm commannd. The result is, that unless both rx and tx
ring sizes are set in a single operation, which ever ring is not set will
silently have its ring count multiplied by the number of queues on the NIC until
it reaches a driver defined maxiumum value.
Fix it by not multiplying the rx and tx ring sizes by the number of queues in
the system, like every other driver. Tested by myself successfully.

The mlx4_en driver allocates the number of objects for the CPU affinity
reverse-map based on the number of rx rings of the device. However,
mlx4_assign_eq() calls irq_cpu_rmap_add() as many times as IRQ's are
assigned to EQ's, which can be as large as mlx4_dev->caps.comp_pool. If
caps.comp_pool is larger than rx_ring_num we will eventually hit the
BUG_ON() in cpu_rmap_add().
Fix this problem by allocating space for the maximum number of CPU
affinity reverse-map objects we might want to add.

Converting more ARM platforms to multiplatform support. This time, OMAP
gets converted, which is a major step since this is by far the largest
platform in terms of code size. The same thing happens to the vt8500
platform.
Conflicts include:
* Two mach/uncompress.h files are removed, the changes made to them
elsewhere can be discarded now.
* Moving the OMAP4 irq_match array has context clashes with turning
omap4_sar_ram_init into an omap_early_initcall()

workqueue interfaces which are deprecated and/or misleading.
This round drops a number of usages of [delayed_]work_pending(), which
are dangerous as they lack any form of synchronization and thus often
lead to buggy / unnecessary code. There are a couple legitimate use
cases in kernel. Hopefully, they can be converted and
[delayed_]work_pending() can be removed completely. Even if not,

examples of misuses and thus slow down growth of them.

it is that the put here parallels the one in netbk_tx_err(), and
the one in xenvif_carrier_off() matches the get from
xenvif_connect() (which normally would be done on the path
coming through xenvif_disconnect()).

This patch fixes the following inconsistencies in bond_release_all:
- IFF_BONDING flag is not stripped from slaves
- MTU is not restored
- no netdev notifiers are sent
Instead of trying to keep bond_release and bond_release_all in sync
I think we can re-use bond_release as the environment for calling it
is correct (RTNL is held). I have been running tests for the past
week and they came out successful. The only way for bond_release to fail
is for the slave to be attached in a different bond or to not be a slave
but that cannot happen as RTNL is held and no slave manipulations can be
achieved.
V2: As suggested bond_release is renamed to __bond_release_one with a
new parameter "all" introduced so to avoid calling unnecessary code while
destroying a bond, and a wrapper for it called bond_release is created
because of ndo_del_link. bond_release_all() is removed.

This probably is the last big pull request for wireless bits
for 3.9. Of course, I'm sure there will be a few stragglers here
and there...surely a few bug fixes as well... :-) (In fact, I see
that Johannes has already queued-up a few more for me while I was
preparing this...)
Included are a number of pulls...
For mac80211-next, Johannes says:
"The biggest change I have is undoubtedly Marco's mesh powersave
implementation. Beyond that, I have a patch from Emmanuel to modify the
DTIM period API in mac80211, scan improvements and a removal of some
previous workaround code from Stanislaw, dynamic short slot time from
Thomas and 64-bit station byte counters from Vladimir. I also made a
number of changes myself, some related to WoWLAN, some auth/deauth
improvements and most of them BSS list cleanups."
"This time, I have relatively large number of fixes in various areas of
the code (a memory leak in regulatory, an RX race in mac80211, the new
radar checking caused a P2P device problem, some mesh issues with
stations, an older bug in tracing and for kernel-doc) as well as a
number of small new features. The biggest (in the diffstat) is my work
on hidden SSID tracking."
"Please pull to get
* radar detection work from Simon
* mesh improvements from Thomas
* a connection monitoring/powersave fix from Wojciech
* TDLS-related station management work from Jouni
* VLAN crypto fixes from Michael Braun
* CCK support in minstrel_ht from Felix
* an SMPS (not SMSP, oops) related improvement in mac80211 (Emmanuel)
* some WoWLAN work from Amitkumar Karwar: pattern match offset and a
documentation fix
* some WoWLAN work from myself (TCP connection wakeup feature API)
* and a lot of VHT (and some HT) work (also from myself)
And a number of more random cleanups/fixes. I merged mac80211/master to
avoid a merge problem there."
And regarding iwlwifi-next, Johannes says:
"We continue work on our new driver, but I also have a WoWLAN and AP mode
improvement for the previous driver and a change to use threaded
interrupts to prepare us for working with non-PCIe devices."
Regarding wl12xx, Luca says:
"A few more patches intended for 3.9. Mostly some clean-ups I've been
doing to make it easier to support device-tree. Also including one bug
fix for wl12xx where the rates we advertise were wrong and an update in
the wlconf structure to support newer firmwares."
For the nfc-next bits, Samuel says:
"This is the second NFC pull request for 3.9.
We have:
- A few pn533 fixes on top of Waldemar refactorization of the driver, one of
them fixes target mode.
- A new driver for Inside Secure microread chipset. It supports two
physical layers: i2c and MEI. The MEI one depends on a patchset that's
been sent to Greg Kroah-Hartman for inclusion into the 3.9 kernel [1]. The
dependency is a KConfig one which means this code is not buildable as long
as the MEI API is not usptream."
"This 3rd NFC pull request for 3.9 contains a fix for the microread MEI
physical layer support, as the MEI bus API changed.
From the MEI code, we now pass the MEI id back to the driver probe routine,
and we also pass a name and a MEI id table through the mei_bus_driver
structure. A few renames as well like e.g. mei_bus_driver to mei_driver or
mei_bus_client to mei_device in order to be closer to the driver model
practices."
For the ath6kl bits, Kalle says:
"There's not anything special here, most of the patches are just code
cleanup. The only functional changes are using the beacon interval from user
space and fixing a crash which happens when inserting and removing the
module in a loop."
Also, I pulled the wireless tree in order to resolve some pending
merge issues. On top of that, there is a bunch of work on brcmfmac
that leads up to P2P support. Also, mwifiex, rtlwifi, and a variety
of other drivers see some basic cleanups and minor enhancements.
Please let me know if there are problems!

The reason is a problem with asynchronous vs. synchronous
commands, what happens here is the following:
* TE 0x2601 is removed, the TIME_EVENT_CMD for that is async
* a new TE (will be 0x2701) is created, the TIME_EVENT_CMD
for that is sync and also uses a notification wait for the
response (to avoid another race condition)
* the response for the TE 0x2601 removal comes from the
firmware, and is handled by the notification wait handler
that's really waiting for the second response, but can't
tell the difference, we therefore see the message
"TIME_EVENT_CMD response - UID = 0x2601" instead of
"TIME_EVENT_CMD response - UID = 0x2701".
Fix this issue by making the TE removal synchronous as well,
this means that we wait for the response to that command
first, before there's any chance of sending a new one.
Also, to detect such issues more easily in the future, add
a warning to the notification handler that detects them.

This series contains updates to e1000, e1000e, igb, igbvf and ixgbe.
The e1000, e1000e, igb and igbvf are single patch changes and the
remaining 11 patches are all against ixgbe.
The e1000 patch is a comment cleanup to align e1000 with the code
commenting style for /drivers/net. It also contains a few other white
space cleanups (i.e. fix lines over 80 char, remove unnecessary blank
lines and fix the use of tabs/spaces).
The e1000e patch from Koki (Fujitsu) adds a warning when link speed is
downgraded due to SmartSpeed.
The igb patch from Stefan (Red Hat) increases the timeout in the ethtool
offline self-test because some i350 adapters would sometimes fail the
self-test because link auto negotiation may take longer than the current
4 second timeout.
The igbvf patch from Alex is meant to address several race issues that
become possible because next_to_watch could possibly be set to a value
that shows that the descriptor is done when it is not. In order to correct
that we instead make next_to_watch a pointer that is set to NULL during
cleanup, and set to the eop_desc after the descriptor rings have been written.
The remaining patches for ixgbe are a mix of fixes and added support as well
as some cleanup. Most notably is the added support for displaying the
number of Tx/Rx channels via ethtool by Alex. Also Aurélien adds the
ability for reading data from SFP+ modules over i2c for diagnostic
monitoring.

Instead of adjusting the FCoE and Flow director limits based on the number
of CPUs we can define them much sooner. This allows the user to come
through later and adjust them once we have updated the code to support the
set_channels ethtool operation.
I am still allowing for FCoE and RSS queues to be separated if the number
queues is less than the number of CPUs. This essentially treats the two
groupings like they are two separate traffic classes.
In addition I am changing the initialization to use the MAX_TX/RX_QUEUES
defines instead of trying to compute the value as it will be possible in
upcoming patches for the user to request the maximum number of queues.
I have also updated things so that the upper limit on queues is exactly 63
instead of allowing it to go up to 64. The reason for this change is to
address the fact thqt the driver only supports up to 63 queue vectors since
the hardware supports 64 MSI-X vectors, but one must be reserved for "other"
causes.

This change is meant to address several race issues that become possible
because next_to_watch could possibly be set to a value that shows that the
descriptor is done when it is not. In order to correct that we instead make
next_to_watch a pointer that is set to NULL during cleanup, and set to the
eop_desc after the descriptor rings have been written.
To enforce proper ordering the next_to_watch pointer is not set until after
a wmb writing the values to the last descriptor in a transmit. In order to
guarantee that the descriptor is not read until after the eop_desc we use the
read_barrier_depends which is only really necessary on the alpha architecture.

This series contains updates to igb and ixgbe. Most of the changes
are against igb, except for one patch against ixgbe.
There are 3 igb fixes from Carolyn which were reported by Dan
Carpenter which resolve issues found in the get_i2c_client(). Alex
does some cleanup of the igb driver to match similar functionality
in ixgbe on transmit. Alex also makes it so that we can enable the use
of build_skb for cases where jumbo frames are disabled. The advantage
to this is that we do not have to perform a memcpy to populate the header
and as a result we see a significant performance improvement.
Akeem provides 4 patches to initialize function pointers and do a
re-factoring of the function pointers in igb_get_variants() to assist
with driver debugging.
The ixgbe patch comes from Emil to reshuffle the switch/case structure
of the flag assignment to allow for the flags to be set for each MAC

After reviewing the igb and ixgbe code I realized there are a few issues in
how the code is structured. Specifically we are not checking the size of the
buffers being used in transmits and we are not using the same value to
determine when to stop or start a Tx queue. As such the code is prone to be
buggy.
This patch makes it so that we have one value DESC_NEEDED that we will use for

For VHT, many more bandwidth changes are possible. As a first
step, stop toggling the IEEE80211_HT_CAP_SUP_WIDTH_20_40 flag
in the HT capabilities and instead introduce a bandwidth field
indicating the currently usable bandwidth to transmit to the
station. Of course, make all drivers use it.
To achieve this, make ieee80211_ht_cap_ie_to_sta_ht_cap() get
the station as an argument, rather than the new capabilities,
so it can set up the new bandwidth field.
If the station is a VHT station and VHT bandwidth is in use,
also set the bandwidth accordingly.
Doing this allows us to get rid of the supports_40mhz flag as
the HT capabilities now reflect the true capability instead of
the current setting.
While at it, also fix ieee80211_ht_cap_ie_to_sta_ht_cap() to not
ignore HT cap overrides when MCS TX isn't supported (not that it

This fixes a less obvious error on one hand, and prevents futher
similar errors by disambiguating and optimizing RxFCB indication,
on the other hand.
The error consists in NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_TX flag being used as an
indication of Rx FCB insertion. This happened as soon gfar_uses_fcb(),
which despite its name indicates Rx FCB insertion, started
incorporating is_vlan_on().
is_vlan_on(), on the other hand, is also a misleading construct because
we need to differentiate b/w hw VLAN extraction/VLEX (marked by VLAN_RX
flag) and hw VLAN insertion/VLINS (VLAN_TX flag), which are different
mechanisms using different types of FCBs.
The hw spec for the RxFCB feature is as follows:
In the case of RxBD rings, FCBs (Frame Control Block) are inserted by
the eTSEC whenever RCTRL[PRSDEP] is set to a non-zero value. Only one
FCB is inserted per frame (in the buffer pointed to by the RxBD with
bit F set). TOE acceleration for receive is enabled for all rx frames
in this case.
This patch introduces priv->uses_rxfcb field to quickly signal RxFCB
insertion in accordance with the specification above.
The dependency on FSL_GIANFAR_DEV_HAS_TIMER was also eliminated as
another source of confusion. The actual dependency is to priv->hwts_rx_en.
Upon changing priv->hwts_rx_en via IOCTL, the gfar device is being
restarted and on init_mac() the priv->hwts_rx_en flag determines RxFCB
insertion, and rctrl is programmed accordingly. The patch takes care
of this case too.
Though maybe not as self documenting as the inlining version uses_fcb(),
priv->uses_rxfcb has the main purpose to quickly signal, on the hot path,
that the incoming frame has a *Rx* FCB block inserted which needs to be
pulled out before passing the skb to the stack. This is a performance
critical operation, it needs to happen fast, that's why uses_rxfcb is
placed in the first cacheline of gfar_private.
This is also why a cached rctrl cannot be used instead: 1) because
we don't have 32 bits available in the first cacheline of gfar_priv
(but only 16); 2) bit operations are expensive on the hot path.

The controller's ref manual states clearly that when the hw Rx vlan
offload feature is enabled, meaning that the VLEX bit from RCTRL is
correctly enabled, then the hw performs automatic VLAN tag extraction
and deletion from the ethernet frames. So there's no point in trying to
increase the rx buff size when rxvlan is on, as the frame is actually
smaller.
And the Tx vlan hw accel feature (VLINS) has nothing to do with rx buff
size computation.

Group run-time critical fields within the 1st cacheline (32B)
followed by the tx|rx_queue reference arrays and the interrupt
group instances (gfargrp), all cacheline aligned.
This has several benefits. Firstly comes the performance benefit
by having the members required by the driver's hot path re-grouped
in the structure's first cache lines, whereas the unimportant
members were pushed towards the end of the struct.
Another benefit comes from eliminating a 24 byte memory hole that
was rendering gfar_priv's 2nd cacheline useless. The default gcc
layout of gfar_private leaves an implicit 24 byte hole after the
errata (enum) member. This patch fixes it.
The uchar bitfields were pushed towards the end of the struct
as these are not run-time performance critical (used for init
time operations). Because there is no other 2 byte member
around to couple the uchar bitfields memeber with, we will
have an addititnal 2 byte hole after the bitfields. This is
unsignificant however, and it doesn't influence gfar_priv's
size, because the whole structure is padded to be a 32B multiple.

Use device pointer (dev) to simplify the code and to
avoid double indirections, especially on the hot path.
Basically, instead of accessing priv to get the ofdev
reference and then accessing the ofdev structure to
dereference the needed dev pointer, we will get the
dev pointer directly from priv.
The dev pointer is required on the hot path, see gfar_new_rxbdp
or gfar_clean_rx_ring (or xmit), and this patch makes
it available directly from priv's 1st cacheline.
This change is reflected at asm level too, taking (the hot)

commit bd329e1 ("net: cdc_ncm: do not bind to NCM compatible MBIM devices")
added a test for a CDC MBIM altsetting, implementing the cdc_ncm part of
MBIM backward compatibility support. This intentionally made the driver
behave differently for CDC NCM devices with 2 alternate settings for the
Communication interface, depending on whether or not CONFIG_USB_NET_CDC_MBIM
was enabled. This is correct iff alternate setting #1 really *is* a MBIM
setting. If not, then NCM probing will use a different altsetting than before,
possibly causing probing failures depending on CONFIG_USB_NET_CDC_MBIM.
Fix by setting the altsetting back to default after the test, restoring the
previous behaviour for non MBIM devices.
This bug causes probing of Huawei E3276 devices to fail when the MBIM driver
is enabled, because these devices have a second alternate setting with no CDC
functional descriptors.

Patch cef401de7b (net: fix possible wrong checksum
generation) fixed wrong checksum calculation but it broke TSO by
defining new GSO type but not a netdev feature for that type.
net_gso_ok() would not allow hardware checksum/segmentation
offload of such packets without the feature.
Following patch fixes TSO and wrong checksum. This patch uses
same logic that Eric Dumazet used. Patch introduces new flag
SKBTX_SHARED_FRAG if at least one frag can be modified by
the user. but SKBTX_SHARED_FRAG flag is kept in skb shared
info tx_flags rather than gso_type.
tx_flags is better compared to gso_type since we can have skb with
shared frag without gso packet. It does not link SHARED_FRAG to
GSO, So there is no need to define netdev feature for this.

Eric noticed that the handling of local u64 ethtool counters for
this driver commonly found on Freescale ppc-32 boards was racy.
However, before converting them over to atomic64_t, I noticed
that an internal struct was being used to determine the offsets
for exporting this data into the ethtool buffer, and in doing
so, it assumed that the counters would always be u64. Rather
than keep this implicit assumption, a simple code cleanup gets
rid of the struct completely, and leaves less conversion sites.
The alternative solution would have been to take advantage of
the fact that the counters are all relating to error conditions,
and hence make them internally u32. In doing so, we'd be assuming
that U32_MAX of any particular error condition is highly unlikely.
This might have made sense if any increments were in a hot path.
Tested with "ethtool -S eth0" on sbc8548 board.

the users of that function are fixed up to correctly handle a negative

The gfar_stats struct is only used in copying out data
via ethtool. It is declared as the extra stats, followed
by the rmon stats. However, the rmon stats are never
actually ever used in the driver; instead the rmon data
is a u32 register read that is cast directly into the
ethtool buf.
It seems the only reason rmon is in the struct at all is
to give the offset(s) at which it should be exported into
the ethtool buffer. But note gfar_stats doesn't contain
a gfar_extra_stats as a substruct -- instead it contains
a u64 array of equal element count. This implicitly means
we have two independent declarations of what gfar_extra_stats
really is. Rather than have this duality, we already have
defines which give us the offset directly, and hence do not
need the struct at all.
Further, since we know the extra_stats is unconditionally
always present, we can write it out to the ethtool buf
1st, and then optionally write out the rmon data. There
is no need for two independent loops, both of which are
simply copying out the extra_stats to buf offset zero.
This also helps pave the way towards allowing the extra
stats fields to be converted to atomic64_t values, without
having their types directly influencing the ethtool stats
export code (gfar_fill_stats) that expects to deal with u64.

Until now, the MPC5200 FEC ethernet driver relied upon the bootloader
(U-Boot) to write the MAC address into the ethernet controller
registers. The Linux driver should not rely on such a thing. So
lets read the MAC address from the DT as it should be done here.
The following priority is now used to read the MAC address:
1) First, try OF node MAC address, if not present or invalid, then:
2) Read from MAC address registers, if invalid, then:
3) Log a warning message, and choose a random MAC address.
This fixes a problem with a MPC5200 board that uses the SPL U-Boot
version without FEC initialization before Linux booting for
boot speedup.
Additionally a status line is now be printed upon successful
driver probing, also displaying this MAC address.

than necessary because it was assumed ixgbe does RSC on IPv6 frames and this

__netpoll_rcu_free is used to free netpoll structures when the rtnl_lock is
already held. The mechanism is used to asynchronously call __netpoll_cleanup
outside of the holding of the rtnl_lock, so as to avoid deadlock.
Unfortunately, __netpoll_cleanup modifies pointers (dev->np), which means the
rtnl_lock must be held while calling it. Further, it cannot be held, because
rcu callbacks may be issued in softirq contexts, which cannot sleep.
Fix this by converting the rcu callback to a work queue that is guaranteed to
get scheduled in process context, so that we can hold the rtnl properly while
