Currently the attribute cap.max_send_wr and cap.max_recv_wr
sent from user-space during create QP are the provider computed
SQ/RQ depth as opposed to raw values passed from application.
This inhibits computation of an accurate value for max_send_wr
and max_recv_wr for this QP in the kernel which matches the value
returned in user create QP. Also these capabilities needs to be
reported from the driver in query QP.
Add support by extending the ABI to allow the raw cap.max_send_wr and
cap.max_recv_wr to be passed from user-space, while keeping compatibility
for the older scheme.
The internal HW depth and shift needed for the WQs needs to be computed
now for both kernel and user-mode QPs. Add new helpers to assist with this:
irdma_uk_calc_depth_shift_sq, irdma_uk_calc_depth_shift_rq and
irdma_uk_calc_depth_shift_wq.
Consolidate all the user mode QP setup into a new function
irdma_setup_umode_qp which keeps it with its counterpart
irdma_setup_kmode_qp.

Add resize_cq verb support for user space CQs. Resize operation for
kernel CQs are not supported now.
Driver should free the current CQ only after user library polls
for all the completions and switch to new CQ. So after the resize_cq
is returned from the driver, user library polls for existing completions
and store it as temporary data. Once library reaps all completions in the
current CQ, it invokes the ibv_cmd_poll_cq to inform the driver about
the resize_cq completion. Adding a check for user CQs in driver's
poll_cq and complete the resize operation for user CQs.

Add feature bit to existing device caps field. EFA supports data polling
of 128 bytes blocks.
The flag indicates that the NIC guarentees that a 128 byte aligned block
is written in order, ie that observing the last 8 bits of the block mean
the prior 127 bytes are also written.
It is useful for "last data polling" acceleration techniques.

The user usually configures the number of sge through the max_send_sge
parameter when creating qp, and configures the maximum size of inline data
that can be sent through max_inline_data. Inline uses sge to fill data to
send. Expect the following:
1) When the sge space cannot hold inline data, the sge space needs to be
expanded to accommodate all inline data
2) When the sge space is enough to accommodate inline data, the upper
limit of inline data can be increased so that users can send larger
inline data
Currently case one is not implemented. When the inline data is larger than
the sge space, an error of insufficient sge space occurs. This part of
the code needs to be reimplemented according to the expected rules. The
calculation method of sge num is modified to take the maximum value of
max_send_sge and the sge for max_inline_data to solve this problem.

In include/uapi/rdma/rdma_user_rxe.h there are redundant copies of num_sge
in the rxe_send_wr, rxe_recv_wqe, and rxe_dma_info. Only the ones in
rxe_dma_info are actually used by the rxe kernel driver.
The userspace would set these values, but the kernel never read them.
This change has no affect on the current ABI and new or old versions of
rdma-core operate correctly with new or old versions of the kernel rxe

According to the ib spec:
If the CI supports the Base Memory Management Extensions defined in this
specification, the L_Key format must consist of:
24 bit index in the most significant bits of the R_Key, and
8 bit key in the least significant bits of the R_Key
Through a successful Allocate L_Key verb invocation, the CI must let the
consumer own the key portion of the returned R_Key
Therefore, when creating a mkey using DEVX, the consumer is allowed to
change the key part. The kernel should compare only the index part of a
R_Key to determine equality with another R_Key.
Adding capability in order not to break backward compatibility.

environment, initially offered in g7re instance. It can improve the
efficiency of large-scale distributed computing and communication
significantly and expand dynamically with the cluster scale of Alibaba
Cloud.
ERDMA is a RDMA networking adapter based on the Alibaba MOC hardware. It
works in the VPC network environment (overlay network), and uses iWarp
transport protocol. ERDMA supports reliable connection (RC). ERDMA also
supports both kernel space and user space verbs. Now we have already
supported HPC/AI applications with libfabric, NoF and some other internal
verbs libraries, such as xrdma, epsl, etc,.
For the ECS instance with RDMA enabled, our MOC hardware generates two
kinds of PCI devices: one for ERDMA, and one for the original net device
(virtio-net). They are separated PCI devices.

Expose a steering anchor per priority to allow users to re-inject
packets back into default NIC pipeline for additional processing.
MLX5_IB_METHOD_STEERING_ANCHOR_CREATE returns a flow table ID which
a user can use to re-inject packets at a specific priority.
A FTE (flow table entry) can be created and the flow table ID
used as a destination.
When a packet is taken into a RDMA-controlled steering domain (like
software steering) there may be a need to insert the packet back into
the default NIC pipeline. This exposes a flow table ID to the user that can
be used as a destination in a flow table entry.
With this new method priorities that are exposed to users via
MLX5_IB_METHOD_FLOW_MATCHER_CREATE can be reached from a non-zero UID.
As user-created flow tables (via RDMA DEVX) are created with a non-zero UID
thus it's impossible to point to a NIC core flow table (core driver flow tables
are created with UID value of zero) from userspace.
Create flow tables that are exposed to users with the shared UID, this
allows users to point to default NIC flow tables.
Steering loops are prevented at FW level as FW enforces that no flow
table at level X can point to a table at level lower than X.

There is a regular need in the kernel to provide a way to declare
having a dynamically sized set of trailing elements in a structure.
Kernel code should always use “flexible array members”[1] for these
cases. The older style of one-element or zero-length arrays should
no longer be used[2].
This code was transformed with the help of Coccinelle:
(linux-5.19-rc2$ spatch --jobs $(getconf _NPROCESSORS_ONLN) --sp-file script.cocci --include-headers --dir . > output.patch)
@@
identifier S, member, array;
type T1, T2;
@@
struct S {
...
T1 member;
T2 array[
- 0
];
};
-fstrict-flex-arrays=3 is coming and we need to land these changes
to prevent issues like these in the short future:
../fs/minix/dir.c:337:3: warning: 'strcpy' will always overflow; destination buffer has size 0,
but the source string has length 2 (including NUL byte) [-Wfortify-source]
strcpy(de3->name, ".");
^
Since these are all [0] to [] changes, the risk to UAPI is nearly zero. If
this breaks anything, we can use a union with a new member name.

Split out flags from ib_device::device_cap_flags that are only used
internally to the kernel into kernel_cap_flags that is not part of the

be copied to userspace.
This cleanly splits out the uverbs flags from the kernel flags to avoid
confusion in the flags bitmap.

the hardware through doorbell to read the data. Direct wqe is a mechanism
to fill wqe directly into the hardware. In the case of light load, the wqe
will be filled into pcie bar space of the hardware, this will reduce one
memory access operation and therefore reduce the latency. SIMD
instructions allows cpu to write the 512 bits at one time to device

Move the struct rxe_av av from struct rxe_send_wqe to struct rxe_send_wr
placing it in wr.ud at the same offset as it was previously. This has the
effect of increasing the size of struct rxe_send_wr while keeping the size

This patch adds support for CQ notifications through the standard verbs
api.
In order to achieve that, a new event queue (EQ) object is introduced,
which is in charge of reporting completion events to the driver. On
driver load, EQs are allocated and their affinity is set to a single
cpu. When a user app creates a CQ with a completion channel, the
completion vector number is converted to a EQ number, which is in charge
of reporting the CQ events.
In addition, the CQ creation admin command now returns an offset for the
CQ doorbell, which is mapped to the userspace provider and is used to arm
the CQ when requested by the user.
The EQs use a single doorbell (located on the registers BAR), which
encodes the EQ number and arm as part of the doorbell value. The EQs are
polled by the driver on each new EQE, and arm it when the poll is
completed.

Add Intel Ethernet Protocol Driver for RDMA (irdma)
The following patch series introduces a unified Intel Ethernet Protocol
Driver for RDMA (irdma) for the X722 iWARP device and a new E810 device
which supports iWARP and RoCEv2. The irdma module replaces the legacy
i40iw module for X722 and extends the ABI already defined for i40iw. It is
backward compatible with legacy X722 rdma-core provider (libi40iw).
X722 and E810 are PCI network devices that are RDMA capable. The RDMA
block of this parent device is represented via an auxiliary device
exported to 'irdma' using the core auxiliary bus infrastructure recently
added for 5.11 kernel. The parent PCI netdev drivers 'i40e' and 'ice'
register auxiliary RDMA devices with private data/ops encapsulated that
bind to auxiliary drivers registered in irdma module.
Currently, default is RoCEv2 for E810. Runtime support for protocol switch
to iWARP will be made available via devlink in a future patch.
