66f6fd278c rxrpc: Fix network address validation
Fix network address validation on entry to uapi functions such as connect()
for AF_RXRPC.  The check for address compatibility with the transport
socket isn't correct and allows an AF_INET6 address to be given to an
AF_INET socket, resulting in an oops now that rxrpc is calling
udp_sendmsg() directly.

1fc4fa2ac9 rxrpc: Fix congestion management
rxrpc has a problem in its congestion management in that it saves the
congestion window size (cwnd) from one call to another, but if this is 0 at
the time is saved, then the next call may not actually manage to ever
transmit anything.

To this end:

 (1) Don't save cwnd between calls, but rather reset back down to the
     initial cwnd and re-enter slow-start if data transmission is idle for
     more than an RTT.

 (2) Preserve ssthresh instead, as that is a handy estimate of pipe
     capacity.  Knowing roughly when to stop slow start and enter
     congestion avoidance can reduce the tendency to overshoot and drop
     larger amounts of packets when probing.

In future, cwind growth also needs to be constrained when the window isn't
being filled due to being application limited.

d57a3a1516 rxrpc: Save last ACK's SACK table rather than marking txbufs
Improve the tracking of which packets need to be transmitted by saving the
last ACK packet that we receive that has a populated soft-ACK table rather
than marking packets.  Then we can step through the soft-ACK table and look
at the packets we've transmitted beyond that to determine which packets we
might want to retransmit.

We also look at the highest serial number that has been acked to try and
guess which packets we've transmitted the peer is likely to have seen.  If
necessary, we send a ping to retrieve that number.

One downside that might be a problem is that we can't then compare the
previous acked/unacked state so easily in rxrpc_input_soft_acks() - which
is a potential problem for the slow-start algorithm.

a4ea4c4776 rxrpc: Don't use a ring buffer for call Tx queue
Change the way the Tx queueing works to make the following ends easier to
achieve:

 (1) The filling of packets, the encryption of packets and the transmission
     of packets can be handled in parallel by separate threads, rather than
     rxrpc_sendmsg() allocating, filling, encrypting and transmitting each
     packet before moving onto the next one.

 (2) Get rid of the fixed-size ring which sets a hard limit on the number
     of packets that can be retained in the ring.  This allows the number
     of packets to increase without having to allocate a very large ring or
     having variable-sized rings.

     [Note: the downside of this is that it's then less efficient to locate
     a packet for retransmission as we then have to step through a list and
     examine each buffer in the list.]

 (3) Allow the filler/encrypter to run ahead of the transmission window.

 (4) Make it easier to do zero copy UDP from the packet buffers.

 (5) Make it easier to do zero copy from userspace to the packet buffers -
     and thence to UDP (only if for unauthenticated connections).

To that end, the following changes are made:

 (1) Use the new rxrpc_txbuf struct instead of sk_buff for keeping packets
     to be transmitted in.  This allows them to be placed on multiple
     queues simultaneously.  An sk_buff isn't really necessary as it's
     never passed on to lower-level networking code.

 (2) Keep the transmissable packets in a linked list on the call struct
     rather than in a ring.  As a consequence, the annotation buffer isn't
     used either; rather a flag is set on the packet to indicate ackedness.

 (3) Use the RXRPC_CALL_TX_LAST flag to indicate that the last packet to be
     transmitted has been queued.  Add RXRPC_CALL_TX_ALL_ACKED to indicate
     that all packets up to and including the last got hard acked.

 (4) Wire headers are now stored in the txbuf rather than being concocted
     on the stack and they're stored immediately before the data, thereby
     allowing zerocopy of a single span.

 (5) Don't bother with instant-resend on transmission failure; rather,
     leave it for a timer or an ACK packet to trigger.

5d7edbc923 rxrpc: Get rid of the Rx ring
Get rid of the Rx ring and replace it with a pair of queues instead.  One
queue gets the packets that are in-sequence and are ready for processing by
recvmsg(); the other queue gets the out-of-sequence packets for addition to
the first queue as the holes get filled.

The annotation ring is removed and replaced with a SACK table.  The SACK
table has the bits set that correspond exactly to the sequence number of
the packet being acked.  The SACK ring is copied when an ACK packet is
being assembled and rotated so that the first ACK is in byte 0.

Flow control handling is altered so that packets that are moved to the
in-sequence queue are hard-ACK'd even before they're consumed - and then
the Rx window size in the ACK packet (rsize) is shrunk down to compensate
(even going to 0 if the window is full).

d4d02d8bb5 rxrpc: Clone received jumbo subpackets and queue separately
Split up received jumbo packets into separate skbuffs by cloning the
original skbuff for each subpacket and setting the offset and length of the
data in that subpacket in the skbuff's private data.  The subpackets are
then placed on the recvmsg queue separately.  The security class then gets
to revise the offset and length to remove its metadata.

If we fail to clone a packet, we just drop it and let the peer resend it.
The original packet gets used for the final subpacket.

This should make it easier to handle parallel decryption of the subpackets.
It also simplifies the handling of lost or misordered packets in the
queuing/buffering loop as the possibility of overlapping jumbo packets no
longer needs to be considered.

530403d9ba rxrpc: Clean up ACK handling
Clean up the rxrpc_propose_ACK() function.  If deferred PING ACK proposal
is split out, it's only really needed for deferred DELAY ACKs.  All other
ACKs, bar terminal IDLE ACK are sent immediately.  The deferred IDLE ACK
submission can be handled by conversion of a DELAY ACK into an IDLE ACK if
there's nothing to be SACK'd.

Also, because there's a delay between an ACK being generated and being
transmitted, it's possible that other ACKs of the same type will be
generated during that interval.  Apart from the ACK time and the serial
number responded to, most of the ACK body, including window and SACK
parameters, are not filled out till the point of transmission - so we can
avoid generating a new ACK if there's one pending that will cover the SACK
data we need to convey.

Therefore, don't propose a new DELAY or IDLE ACK for a call if there's one
already pending.

b6c66c4324 rxrpc: Use the core ICMP/ICMP6 parsers
Make rxrpc_encap_rcv_err() pass the ICMP/ICMP6 skbuff to ip_icmp_error() or
ipv6_icmp_error() as appropriate to do the parsing rather than trying to do
it in rxrpc.

This pushes an error report onto the UDP socket's error queue and calls
->sk_error_report() from which point rxrpc can pick it up.

It would be preferable to steal the packet directly from ip*_icmp_error()
rather than letting it get queued, but this is probably good enough.

Also note that __udp4_lib_err() calls sk_error_report() twice in some
cases.

b015424695 rxrpc: Add stats procfile and DATA packet stats
Add a procfile, /proc/net/rxrpc/stats, to display some statistics about
what rxrpc has been doing.  Writing a blank line to the stats file will
clear the increment-only counters.  Allocated resource counters don't get
cleared.

Add some counters to count various things about DATA packets, including the
number created, transmitted and retransmitted and the number received, the
number of ACK-requests markings and the number of jumbo packets received.

d3d863036d rxrpc: Fix local destruction being repeated
If the local processor work item for the rxrpc local endpoint gets requeued
by an event (such as an incoming packet) between it getting scheduled for
destruction and the UDP socket being closed, the rxrpc_local_destroyer()
function can get run twice.  The second time it can hang because it can end
up waiting for cleanup events that will never happen.

0d40f728e2 rxrpc: Fix an insufficiently large sglist in rxkad_verify_packet_2()
rxkad_verify_packet_2() has a small stack-allocated sglist of 4 elements,
but if that isn't sufficient for the number of fragments in the socket
buffer, we try to allocate an sglist large enough to hold all the
fragments.

However, for large packets with a lot of fragments, this isn't sufficient
and we need at least one additional fragment.

The problem manifests as skb_to_sgvec() returning -EMSGSIZE and this then
getting returned by userspace.  Most of the time, this isn't a problem as
rxrpc sets a limit of 5692, big enough for 4 jumbo subpackets to be glued
together; occasionally, however, the server will ignore the reported limit
and give a packet that's a lot bigger - say 19852 bytes with ->nr_frags
being 7.  skb_to_sgvec() then tries to return a "zeroth" fragment that
seems to occur before the fragments counted by ->nr_frags and we hit the
end of the sglist too early.

Note that __skb_to_sgvec() also has an skb_walk_frags() loop that is
recursive up to 24 deep.  I'm not sure if I need to take account of that
too - or if there's an easy way of counting those frags too.

Fix this by counting an extra frag and allocating a larger sglist based on
that.

ac56a0b48d rxrpc: Fix ICMP/ICMP6 error handling
Because rxrpc pretends to be a tunnel on top of a UDP/UDP6 socket, allowing
it to siphon off UDP packets early in the handling of received UDP packets
thereby avoiding the packet going through the UDP receive queue, it doesn't
get ICMP packets through the UDP ->sk_error_report() callback.  In fact, it
doesn't appear that there's any usable option for getting hold of ICMP
packets.

Fix this by adding a new UDP encap hook to distribute error messages for
UDP tunnels.  If the hook is set, then the tunnel driver will be able to
see ICMP packets.  The hook provides the offset into the packet of the UDP
header of the original packet that caused the notification.

An alternative would be to call the ->error_handler() hook - but that
requires that the skbuff be cloned (as ip_icmp_error() or ipv6_cmp_error()
do, though isn't really necessary or desirable in rxrpc's case is we want
to parse them there and then, not queue them).

Fix three bugs in the rxrpc's sendmsg implementation:

 (1) rxrpc_new_client_call() should release the socket lock when returning
     an error from rxrpc_get_call_slot().

 (2) rxrpc_wait_for_tx_window_intr() will return without the call mutex
     held in the event that we're interrupted by a signal whilst waiting
     for tx space on the socket or relocking the call mutex afterwards.

     Fix this by: (a) moving the unlock/lock of the call mutex up to
     rxrpc_send_data() such that the lock is not held around all of
     rxrpc_wait_for_tx_window*() and (b) indicating to higher callers
     whether we're return with the lock dropped.  Note that this means
     recvmsg() will not block on this call whilst we're waiting.

 (3) After dropping and regaining the call mutex, rxrpc_send_data() needs
     to go and recheck the state of the tx_pending buffer and the
     tx_total_len check in case we raced with another sendmsg() on the same
     call.

Thinking on this some more, it might make sense to have different locks for
sendmsg() and recvmsg().  There's probably no need to make recvmsg() wait
for sendmsg().  It does mean that recvmsg() can return MSG_EOR indicating
that a call is dead before a sendmsg() to that call returns - but that can
currently happen anyway.

Without fix (2), something like the following can be induced:

9a3dedcf18 rxrpc: Fix decision on when to generate an IDLE ACK
Fix the decision on when to generate an IDLE ACK by keeping a count of the
number of packets we've received, but not yet soft-ACK'd, and the number of
packets we've processed, but not yet hard-ACK'd, rather than trying to keep
track of which DATA sequence numbers correspond to those points.

We then generate an ACK when either counter exceeds 2.  The counters are
both cleared when we transcribe the information into any sort of ACK packet
for transmission.  IDLE and DELAY ACKs are skipped if both counters are 0
(ie. no change).

114af61f88 rxrpc: Don't try to resend the request if we're receiving the reply
rxrpc has a timer to trigger resending of unacked data packets in a call.
This is not cancelled when a client call switches to the receive phase on
the basis that most calls don't last long enough for it to ever expire.
However, if it *does* expire after we've started to receive the reply, we
shouldn't then go into trying to retransmit or pinging the server to find
out if an ack got lost.

Fix this by skipping the resend code if we're into receiving the reply to a
client call.

88e2215975 rxrpc: Fix listen() setting the bar too high for the prealloc rings
AF_RXRPC's listen() handler lets you set the backlog up to 32 (if you bump
up the sysctl), but whilst the preallocation circular buffers have 32 slots
in them, one of them has to be a dead slot because we're using CIRC_CNT().

This means that listen(rxrpc_sock, 32) will cause an oops when the socket
is closed because rxrpc_service_prealloc_one() allocated one too many calls
and rxrpc_discard_prealloc() won't then be able to get rid of them because
it'll think the ring is empty.  rxrpc_release_calls_on_socket() then tries
to abort them, but oopses because call->peer isn't yet set.

Fix this by setting the maximum backlog to RXRPC_BACKLOG_MAX - 1 to match
the ring capacity.

adc9613ff6 afs: Adjust ACK interpretation to try and cope with NAT
If a client's address changes, say if it is NAT'd, this can disrupt an in
progress operation.  For most operations, this is not much of a problem,
but StoreData can be different as some servers modify the target file as
the data comes in, so if a store request is disrupted, the file can get
corrupted on the server.

The problem is that the server doesn't recognise packets that come after
the change of address as belonging to the original client and will bounce
them, either by sending an OUT_OF_SEQUENCE ACK to the apparent new call if
the packet number falls within the initial sequence number window of a call
or by sending an EXCEEDS_WINDOW ACK if it falls outside and then aborting
it.  In both cases, firstPacket will be 1 and previousPacket will be 0 in
the ACK information.

Fix this by the following means:

 (1) If a client call receives an EXCEEDS_WINDOW ACK with firstPacket as 1
     and previousPacket as 0, assume this indicates that the server saw the
     incoming packets from a different peer and thus as a different call.
     Fail the call with error -ENETRESET.

 (2) Also fail the call if a similar OUT_OF_SEQUENCE ACK occurs if the
     first packet has been hard-ACK'd.  If it hasn't been hard-ACK'd, the
     ACK packet will cause it to get retransmitted, so the call will just
     be repeated.

 (3) Make afs_select_fileserver() treat -ENETRESET as a straight fail of
     the operation.

 (4) Prioritise the error code over things like -ECONNRESET as the server
     did actually respond.

 (5) Make writeback treat -ENETRESET as a retryable error and make it
     redirty all the pages involved in a write so that the VM will retry.

Note that there is still a circumstance that I can't easily deal with: if
the operation is fully received and processed by the server, but the reply
is lost due to address change.  There's no way to know if the op happened.
We can examine the server, but a conflicting change could have been made by
a third party - and we can't tell the difference.  In such a case, a
message like:

    kAFS: vnode modified {100058:146266} b7->b8 YFS.StoreData64 (op=2646a)

will be logged to dmesg on the next op to touch the file and the client
will reset the inode state, including invalidating clean parts of the
pagecache.

The RX_USER_ABORT code should really only be used to indicate that the user
of the rxrpc service (ie. userspace) implicitly caused a call to be aborted
- for instance if the AF_RXRPC socket is closed whilst the call was in
progress.  (The user may also explicitly abort a call and specify the abort
code to use).

Change some of the points of generation to use other abort codes instead:

 (1) Abort the call with RXGEN_SS_UNMARSHAL or RXGEN_CC_UNMARSHAL if we see
     ENOMEM and EFAULT during received data delivery and abort with
     RX_CALL_DEAD in the default case.

 (2) Abort with RXGEN_SS_MARSHAL if we get ENOMEM whilst trying to send a
     reply.

 (3) Abort with RX_CALL_DEAD if we stop hearing from the peer if we had
     heard from the peer and abort with RX_CALL_TIMEOUT if we hadn't.

 (4) Abort with RX_CALL_DEAD if we try to disconnect a call that's not
     completed successfully or been aborted.

4ba68c5192 rxrpc: Return an error to sendmsg if call failed
If at the end of rxrpc sendmsg() or rxrpc_kernel_send_data() the call that
was being given data was aborted remotely or otherwise failed, return an
error rather than returning the amount of data buffered for transmission.

The call (presumably) did not complete, so there's not much point
continuing with it.  AF_RXRPC considers it "complete" and so will be
unwilling to do anything else with it - and won't send a notification for
it, deeming the return from sendmsg sufficient.

Not returning an error causes afs to incorrectly handle a StoreData
operation that gets interrupted by a change of address due to NAT
reconfiguration.

This doesn't normally affect most operations since their request parameters
tend to fit into a single UDP packet and afs_make_call() returns before the
server responds; StoreData is different as it involves transmission of a
lot of data.

This can be triggered on a client by doing something like:

	dd if=/dev/zero of=/afs/example.com/foo bs=1M count=512

at one prompt, and then changing the network address at another prompt,
e.g.:

The Auristor fileserver logs code -453 (RXGEN_SS_UNMARSHAL), but the abort
code received by kafs is -5 (RX_PROTOCOL_ERROR) as the rx layer sees the

ad25f5cb39 rxrpc: Fix locking issue
There's a locking issue with the per-netns list of calls in rxrpc.  The
pieces of code that add and remove a call from the list use write_lock()
and the calls procfile uses read_lock() to access it.  However, the timer
callback function may trigger a removal by trying to queue a call for
processing and finding that it's already queued - at which point it has a
spare refcount that it has to do something with.  Unfortunately, if it puts
the call and this reduces the refcount to 0, the call will be removed from
the list.  Unfortunately, since the _bh variants of the locking functions
aren't used, this can deadlock.

39cb9faa5d rxrpc: Enable IPv6 checksums on transport socket
AF_RXRPC doesn't currently enable IPv6 UDP Tx checksums on the transport
socket it opens and the checksums in the packets it generates end up 0.

It probably should also enable IPv6 UDP Rx checksums and IPv4 UDP
checksums.  The latter only seem to be applied if the socket family is
AF_INET and don't seem to apply if it's AF_INET6.  IPv4 packets from an
IPv6 socket seem to have checksums anyway.

What seems to have happened is that the inet_inv_convert_csum() call didn't
get converted to the appropriate udp_port_cfg parameters - and
udp_sock_create() disables checksums unless explicitly told not too.

Fix this by enabling the three udp_port_cfg checksum options.

ee3b0826b4 rxrpc: Restore removed timer deletion
A recent patch[1] from Eric Dumazet flipped the order in which the
keepalive timer and the keepalive worker were cancelled in order to fix a
syzbot reported issue[2].  Unfortunately, this enables the mirror image bug
whereby the timer races with rxrpc_exit_net(), restarting the worker after
it has been cancelled:

ff8376ade4 rxrpc: fix some null-ptr-deref bugs in server_key.c
Some function calls are not implemented in rxrpc_no_security, there are
preparse_server_key, free_preparse_server_key and destroy_server_key.
When rxrpc security type is rxrpc_no_security, user can easily trigger a
null-ptr-deref bug via ioctl. So judgment should be added to prevent it

4a7f62f919 rxrpc: Fix call timer start racing with call destruction
The rxrpc_call struct has a timer used to handle various timed events
relating to a call.  This timer can get started from the packet input
routines that are run in softirq mode with just the RCU read lock held.
Unfortunately, because only the RCU read lock is held - and neither ref or
other lock is taken - the call can start getting destroyed at the same time
a packet comes in addressed to that call.  This causes the timer - which
was already stopped - to get restarted.  Later, the timer dispatch code may
then oops if the timer got deallocated first.

Fix this by trying to take a ref on the rxrpc_call struct and, if
successful, passing that ref along to the timer.  If the timer was already
running, the ref is discarded.

The timer completion routine can then pass the ref along to the call's work
item when it queues it.  If the timer or work item where already
queued/running, the extra ref is discarded.

2c13c05c5f rxrpc: Adjust retransmission backoff
Improve retransmission backoff by only backing off when we retransmit data
packets rather than when we set the lost ack timer.

To this end:

 (1) In rxrpc_resend(), use rxrpc_get_rto_backoff() when setting the
     retransmission timer and only tell it that we are retransmitting if we
     actually have things to retransmit.

     Note that it's possible for the retransmission algorithm to race with
     the processing of a received ACK, so we may see no packets needing
     retransmission.

 (2) In rxrpc_send_data_packet(), don't bump the backoff when setting the
     ack_lost_at timer, as it may then get bumped twice.

With this, when looking at one particular packet, the retransmission
intervals were seen to be 1.5ms, 2ms, 3ms, 5ms, 9ms, 17ms, 33ms, 71ms,
136ms, 264ms, 544ms, 1.088s, 2.1s, 4.2s and 8.3s.

40e67c1200 rxrpc: Fix fall-through warnings for Clang
In preparation to enable -Wimplicit-fallthrough for Clang, fix a warning
by explicitly adding a break statement instead of letting the code fall
through to the next case.

f105da1a79 afs: Don't truncate iter during data fetch
Don't truncate the iterator to correspond to the actual data size when
fetching the data from the server - rather, pass the length we want to read
to rxrpc.

This will allow the clear-after-read code in future to simply clear the
remaining iterator capacity rather than having to reinitialise the
iterator.

1a9b86c9fd rxrpc: use udp tunnel APIs instead of open code in rxrpc_open_socket
In rxrpc_open_socket(), now it's using sock_create_kern() and
kernel_bind() to create a udp tunnel socket, and other kernel
APIs to set up it. These code can be replaced with udp tunnel
APIs udp_sock_create() and setup_udp_tunnel_sock(), and it'll
simplify rxrpc_open_socket().

Note that with this patch, the udp tunnel socket will always
bind to a random port if transport is not provided by users,
which is suggested by David Howells, thanks!

When doing encap_enable/increasing encap_needed_key, up->encap_enabled
is not set in rxrpc_open_socket(), and it will cause encap_needed_key
not being decreased in udpv6_destroy_sock().

This patch is to improve it by just calling udp_tunnel_encap_enable()
where it increases both UDP and UDPv6 encap_needed_key and sets
up->encap_enabled.

7b5eab57ca rxrpc: Fix clearance of Tx/Rx ring when releasing a call
At the end of rxrpc_release_call(), rxrpc_cleanup_ring() is called to clear
the Rx/Tx skbuff ring, but this doesn't lock the ring whilst it's accessing
it.  Unfortunately, rxrpc_resend() might be trying to retransmit a packet
concurrently with this - and whilst it does lock the ring, this isn't
protection against rxrpc_cleanup_call().

Fix this by removing the call to rxrpc_cleanup_ring() from
rxrpc_release_call().  rxrpc_cleanup_ring() will be called again anyway
from rxrpc_cleanup_call().  The earlier call is just an optimisation to
recycle skbuffs more quickly.

Alternative solutions include rxrpc_release_call() could try to cancel the
work item or wait for it to complete or rxrpc_cleanup_ring() could lock
when accessing the ring (which would require a bh lock).

This can produce a report like the following:

5399d52233 rxrpc: Fix deadlock around release of dst cached on udp tunnel
AF_RXRPC sockets use UDP ports in encap mode.  This causes socket and dst
from an incoming packet to get stolen and attached to the UDP socket from
whence it is leaked when that socket is closed.

When a network namespace is removed, the wait for dst records to be cleaned
up happens before the cleanup of the rxrpc and UDP socket, meaning that the
wait never finishes.

Fix this by moving the rxrpc (and, by dependence, the afs) private
per-network namespace registrations to the device group rather than subsys
group.  This allows cached rxrpc local endpoints to be cleared and their
UDP sockets closed before we try waiting for the dst records.

The symptom is that lines looking like the following:

	unregister_netdevice: waiting for lo to become free

get emitted at regular intervals after running something like the
referenced syzbot test.

Thanks to Vadim for tracking this down and work out the fix.

a95d25dd7b rxrpc: Call state should be read with READ_ONCE() under some circumstances
The call state may be changed at any time by the data-ready routine in
response to received packets, so if the call state is to be read and acted
upon several times in a function, READ_ONCE() must be used unless the call
state lock is held.

As it happens, we used READ_ONCE() to read the state a few lines above the
unmarked read in rxrpc_input_data(), so use that value rather than
re-reading it.

d52e419ac8 rxrpc: Fix handling of an unsupported token type in rxrpc_read()
Clang static analysis reports the following:

net/rxrpc/key.c:657:11: warning: Assigned value is garbage or undefined
                toksize = toksizes[tok++];
                        ^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

rxrpc_read() contains two consecutive loops.  The first loop calculates the
token sizes and stores the results in toksizes[] and the second one uses
the array.  When there is an error in identifying the token in the first
loop, the token is skipped, no change is made to the toksizes[] array.
When the same error happens in the second loop, the token is not skipped.
This will cause the toksizes[] array to be out of step and will overrun
past the calculated sizes.

Fix this by making both loops log a message and return an error in this
case.  This should only happen if a new token type is incompletely
implemented, so it should normally be impossible to trigger this.

Insert the security header into the skbuff representing a DATA packet to be
transmitted rather than using skb_reserve() when the packet is allocated.
This makes it easier to apply crypto that spans the security header and the

Don't retain a pointer to the server key in the connection, but rather get
it on demand when the server has to deal with a response packet.

This is necessary to implement RxGK (GSSAPI-mediated transport class),
where we can't know which key we'll need until we've challenged the client
and got back the response.

This also means that we don't need to do a key search in the accept path in
softirq mode.

Also, whilst we're at it, allow the security class to ask for a kvno and
encoding-type variant of a server key as RxGK needs different keys for
different encoding types.  Keys of this type have an extra bit in the
description:

	"<service-id>:<security-index>:<kvno>:<enctype>"

2d914c1bf0 rxrpc: Fix accept on a connection that need securing
When a new incoming call arrives at an userspace rxrpc socket on a new
connection that has a security class set, the code currently pushes it onto
the accept queue to hold a ref on it for the socket.  This doesn't work,
however, as recvmsg() pops it off, notices that it's in the SERVER_SECURING
state and discards the ref.  This means that the call runs out of refs too
early and the kernel oopses.

By contrast, a kernel rxrpc socket manually pre-charges the incoming call
pool with calls that already have user call IDs assigned, so they are ref'd
by the call tree on the socket.

Change the mode of operation for userspace rxrpc server sockets to work
like this too.  Although this is a UAPI change, server sockets aren't
currently functional.

The session key should be encoded with just the 8 data bytes and
no length; ENCODE_DATA precedes it with a 4 byte length, which
confuses some existing tools that try to parse this format.

Add an ENCODE_BYTES macro that does not include a length, and use
it for the key.  Also adjust the expected length.

Note that commit 774521f353 ("rxrpc: Fix an assertion in
rxrpc_read()") had fixed a BUG by changing the length rather than
fixing the encoding.  The original length was correct.

245500d853 rxrpc: Rewrite the client connection manager
Rewrite the rxrpc client connection manager so that it can support multiple
connections for a given security key to a peer.  The following changes are
made:

 (1) For each open socket, the code currently maintains an rbtree with the
     connections placed into it, keyed by communications parameters.  This
     is tricky to maintain as connections can be culled from the tree or
     replaced within it.  Connections can require replacement for a number
     of reasons, e.g. their IDs span too great a range for the IDR data
     type to represent efficiently, the call ID numbers on that conn would
     overflow or the conn got aborted.

     This is changed so that there's now a connection bundle object placed
     in the tree, keyed on the same parameters.  The bundle, however, does
     not need to be replaced.

 (2) An rxrpc_bundle object can now manage the available channels for a set
     of parallel connections.  The lock that manages this is moved there
     from the rxrpc_connection struct (channel_lock).

 (3) There'a a dummy bundle for all incoming connections to share so that
     they have a channel_lock too.  It might be better to give each
     incoming connection its own bundle.  This bundle is not needed to
     manage which channels incoming calls are made on because that's the
     solely at whim of the client.

 (4) The restrictions on how many client connections are around are
     removed.  Instead, a previous patch limits the number of client calls
     that can be allocated.  Ordinarily, client connections are reaped
     after 2 minutes on the idle queue, but when more than a certain number
     of connections are in existence, the reaper starts reaping them after
     2s of idleness instead to get the numbers back down.

     It could also be made such that new call allocations are forced to
     wait until the number of outstanding connections subsides.

Impose a maximum on the number of client rxrpc calls that are allowed
simultaneously.  This will be in lieu of a maximum number of client
connections as this is easier to administed as, unlike connections, calls
aren't reusable (to be changed in a subsequent patch)..

This doesn't affect the limits on service calls and connections.

4700c4d80b rxrpc: Fix loss of RTT samples due to interposed ACK
The Rx protocol has a mechanism to help generate RTT samples that works by
a client transmitting a REQUESTED-type ACK when it receives a DATA packet
that has the REQUEST_ACK flag set.

The peer, however, may interpose other ACKs before transmitting the
REQUESTED-ACK, as can be seen in the following trace excerpt:

DATA packet 1 (q=xx) has REQUEST_ACK set (bit 1 of fl=xx).  The incoming
ping (labelled PNG) hard-acks the request DATA packet (f=xx exceeds the
sequence number of the DATA packet), causing it to be discarded from the Tx
ring.  The ACK that was requested (labelled REQ, r=xx references the serial
of the DATA packet) comes after the ping, but the sk_buff holding the
timestamp has gone and the RTT sample is lost.

This is particularly noticeable on RPC calls used to probe the service
offered by the peer.  A lot of peers end up with an unknown RTT because we
only ever sent a single RPC.  This confuses the server rotation algorithm.

Fix this by caching the information about the outgoing packet in RTT
calculations in the rxrpc_call struct rather than looking in the Tx ring.

A four-deep buffer is maintained and both REQUEST_ACK-flagged DATA and
PING-ACK transmissions are recorded in there.  When the appropriate
response ACK is received, the buffer is checked for a match and, if found,
an RTT sample is recorded.

If a received ACK refers to a packet with a later serial number than an
entry in the cache, that entry is presumed lost and the entry is made
available to record a new transmission.

ACKs types other than REQUESTED-type and PING-type cause any matching
sample to be cancelled as they don't necessarily represent a useful
measurement.

If there's no space in the buffer on ping/data transmission, the sample
base is discarded.

65550098c1 rxrpc: Fix race between recvmsg and sendmsg on immediate call failure
There's a race between rxrpc_sendmsg setting up a call, but then failing to
send anything on it due to an error, and recvmsg() seeing the call
completion occur and trying to return the state to the user.

An assertion fails in rxrpc_recvmsg() because the call has already been
released from the socket and is about to be released again as recvmsg deals
with it.  (The recvmsg_q queue on the socket holds a ref, so there's no
problem with use-after-free.)

We also have to be careful not to end up reporting an error twice, in such
a way that both returns indicate to userspace that the user ID supplied
with the call is no longer in use - which could cause the client to
malfunction if it recycles the user ID fast enough.

Fix this by the following means:

 (1) When sendmsg() creates a call after the point that the call has been
     successfully added to the socket, don't return any errors through
     sendmsg(), but rather complete the call and let recvmsg() retrieve
     them.  Make sendmsg() return 0 at this point.  Further calls to
     sendmsg() for that call will fail with ESHUTDOWN.

     Note that at this point, we haven't send any packets yet, so the
     server doesn't yet know about the call.

 (2) If sendmsg() returns an error when it was expected to create a new
     call, it means that the user ID wasn't used.

 (3) Mark the call disconnected before marking it completed to prevent an
     oops in rxrpc_release_call().

 (4) recvmsg() will then retrieve the error and set MSG_EOR to indicate
     that the user ID is no longer known by the kernel.

The UDP reuseport conflict was a little bit tricky.

The net-next code, via bpf-next, extracted the reuseport handling
into a helper so that the BPF sk lookup code could invoke it.

At the same time, the logic for reuseport handling of unconnected
sockets changed via commit efc6b6f6c3
which changed the logic to carry on the reuseport result into the
rest of the lookup loop if we do not return immediately.

This requires moving the reuseport_has_conns() logic into the callers.

While we are here, get rid of inline directives as they do not belong
in foo.c files.

The other changes were cases of more straightforward overlapping
modifications.

639f181f0e rxrpc: Fix sendmsg() returning EPIPE due to recvmsg() returning ENODATA
rxrpc_sendmsg() returns EPIPE if there's an outstanding error, such as if
rxrpc_recvmsg() indicating ENODATA if there's nothing for it to read.

Change rxrpc_recvmsg() to return EAGAIN instead if there's nothing to read
as this particular error doesn't get stored in ->sk_err by the networking
core.

Also change rxrpc_sendmsg() so that it doesn't fail with delayed receive
errors (there's no way for it to report which call, if any, the error was
caused by).

0041cd5a50 rxrpc: Fix notification call on completion of discarded calls
When preallocated service calls are being discarded, they're passed to
->discard_new_call() to have the caller clean up any attached higher-layer
preallocated pieces before being marked completed.  However, the act of
marking them completed now invokes the call's notification function - which
causes a problem because that function might assume that the previously
freed pieces of memory are still there.

Fix this by setting a dummy notification function on the socket after
calling ->discard_new_call().

This results in the following kasan message when the kafs module is
removed.

02c28dffb1 rxrpc: Fix afs large storage transmission performance drop
Commit 2ad6691d98, which moved the modification of the status annotation
for a packet in the Tx buffer prior to the retransmission moved the state
clearance, but managed to lose the bit that set it to UNACK.

Consequently, if a retransmission occurs, the packet is accidentally
changed to the ACK state (ie. 0) by masking it off, which means that the
packet isn't counted towards the tally of newly-ACK'd packets if it gets
hard-ACK'd.  This then prevents the congestion control algorithm from
recovering properly.

Fix by reinstating the change of state to UNACK.

Spotted by the generic/460 xfstest.

a2ad7c21ad rxrpc: Fix handling of rwind from an ACK packet
The handling of the receive window size (rwind) from a received ACK packet
is not correct.  The rxrpc_input_ackinfo() function currently checks the
current Tx window size against the rwind from the ACK to see if it has
changed, but then limits the rwind size before storing it in the tx_winsize
member and, if it increased, wake up the transmitting process.  This means
that if rwind > RXRPC_RXTX_BUFF_SIZE - 1, this path will always be
followed.

Fix this by limiting rwind before we compare it to tx_winsize.

The effect of this can be seen by enabling the rxrpc_rx_rwind_change
tracepoint.

2ad6691d98 rxrpc: Fix race between incoming ACK parser and retransmitter
There's a race between the retransmission code and the received ACK parser.
The problem is that the retransmission loop has to drop the lock under
which it is iterating through the transmission buffer in order to transmit
a packet, but whilst the lock is dropped, the ACK parser can crank the Tx
window round and discard the packets from the buffer.

The retransmission code then updated the annotations for the wrong packet
and a later retransmission thought it had to retransmit a packet that
wasn't there, leading to a NULL pointer dereference.

Fix this by:

 (1) Moving the annotation change to before we drop the lock prior to
     transmission.  This means we can't vary the annotation depending on
     the outcome of the transmission, but that's fine - we'll retransmit
     again later if it failed now.

 (2) Skipping the packet if the skb pointer is NULL.

The following oops was seen:

   - Make the inode hash table RCU safe and providing some RCU-safe

   - Allow AFS's callback processing to avoid taking the inode_hash_lock

   - Improve Ext4's time updating. Konstantin Khlebnikov said "For now,
     I've plugged this issue with try-lock in ext4 lazy time update.

  Then there's a set of changes to make a number of improvements to the
  AFS driver:

   - Improve callback (ie. third party change notification) processing
     by:

      (a) Relying more on the fact we're doing this under RCU and by
          using fewer locks. This makes use of the RCU-based inode
          searching outlined above.

      (b) Moving to keeping volumes in a tree indexed by volume ID
          rather than a flat list.

      (c) Making the server and volume records logically part of the
          cell. This means that a server record now points directly at
          the cell and the tree of volumes is there. This removes an N:M
          mapping table, simplifying things.

   - Improve keeping NAT or firewall channels open for the server
     callbacks to reach the client by actively polling the fileserver on
     a timed basis, instead of only doing it when we have an operation
     to process.

   - Improving detection of delayed or lost callbacks by including the
     parent directory in the list of file IDs to be queried when doing a
     bulk status fetch from lookup. We can then check to see if our copy
     of the directory has changed under us without us getting notified.

   - Determine aliasing of cells (such as a cell that is pointed to be a
     DNS alias). This allows us to avoid having ambiguity due to
     apparently different cells using the same volume and file servers.

   - Improve the fileserver rotation to do more probing when it detects
     that all of the addresses to a server are listed as non-responsive.
     It's possible that an address that previously stopped responding
     has become responsive again.

  Beyond that, lay some foundations for making some calls asynchronous:

   - Turn the fileserver cursor struct into a general operation struct
     and hang the parameters off of that rather than keeping them in
     local variables and hang results off of that rather than the call
     struct.

   - Implement some general operation handling code and simplify the
     callers of operations that affect a volume or a volume component
     (such as a file). Most of the operation is now done by core code.

   - Operations are supplied with a table of operations to issue
     different variants of RPCs and to manage the completion, where all
     the required data is held in the operation object, thereby allowing
     these to be called from a workqueue.

   - Put the standard "if (begin), while(select), call op, end" sequence
     into a canned function that just emulates the current behaviour for
     now.

  There are also some fixes interspersed:

   - Don't let the EACCES from ICMP6 mapping reach the user as such,
     since it's confusing as to whether it's a filesystem error. Convert
     it to EHOSTUNREACH.

   - Don't use the epoch value acquired through probing a server. If we
     have two servers with the same UUID but in different cells, it's
     hard to draw conclusions from them having different epoch values.

   - Don't interpret the argument to the CB.ProbeUuid RPC as a
     fileserver UUID and look up a fileserver from it.

   - Deal with servers in different cells having the same UUIDs. In the
     event that a CB.InitCallBackState3 RPC is received, we have to
     break the callback promises for every server record matching that
     UUID.

   - Don't let afs_statfs return values that go below 0.

   - Don't use running fileserver probe state to make server selection
     and address selection decisions on. Only make decisions on final
     state as the running state is cleared at the start of probing"

5ac0d62226 rxrpc: Fix missing notification
Under some circumstances, rxrpc will fail a transmit a packet through the
underlying UDP socket (ie. UDP sendmsg returns an error).  This may result
in a call getting stuck.

In the instance being seen, where AFS tries to send a probe to the Volume
Location server, tracepoints show the UDP Tx failure (in this case returing
error 99 EADDRNOTAVAIL) and then nothing more:

The problem is that if the initial packet fails and the retransmission
timer hasn't been started, the call is set to completed and an error is
returned from rxrpc_send_data_packet() to rxrpc_queue_packet().  Though
rxrpc_instant_resend() is called, this does nothing because the call is
marked completed.

So rxrpc_notify_socket() isn't called and the error is passed back up to
rxrpc_send_data(), rxrpc_kernel_send_data() and thence to afs_make_call()
and afs_vl_get_capabilities() where it is simply ignored because it is
assumed that the result of a probe will be collected asynchronously.

Fileserver probing is similarly affected via afs_fs_get_capabilities().

Fix this by always issuing a notification in __rxrpc_set_call_completion()
if it shifts a call to the completed state, even if an error is also
returned to the caller through the function return value.

Also put in a little bit of optimisation to avoid taking the call
state_lock and disabling softirqs if the call is already in the completed
state and remove some now redundant rxrpc_notify_socket() calls.

441fdee1ea rxrpc: Fix ack discard
The Rx protocol has a "previousPacket" field in it that is not handled in
the same way by all protocol implementations.  Sometimes it contains the
serial number of the last DATA packet received, sometimes the sequence
number of the last DATA packet received and sometimes the highest sequence
number so far received.

AF_RXRPC is using this to weed out ACKs that are out of date (it's possible
for ACK packets to get reordered on the wire), but this does not work with
OpenAFS which will just stick the sequence number of the last packet seen
into previousPacket.

The issue being seen is that big AFS FS.StoreData RPC (eg. of ~256MiB) are
timing out when partly sent.  A trace was captured, with an additional
tracepoint to show ACKs being discarded in rxrpc_input_ack().  Here's an
excerpt showing the problem.

window is set at that point).

However, the DLY ACK gets discarded because its previousPacket has gone

We then end up in a continuous cycle of retransmit/discard.  kafs fails to
update its window because it's discarding the ACKs and can't transmit an
extra packet that would clear the issue because the window is full.
OpenAFS doesn't change the previousPacket value in the ACKs because no new
DATA packets are received with a different previousPacket number.

Fix this by altering the discard check to only discard an ACK based on
previousPacket if there was no advance in the firstPacket.  This allows us
to transmit a new packet which will cause previousPacket to advance in the
next ACK.

The check, however, needs to allow for the possibility that previousPacket
may actually have had the serial number placed in it instead - in which
case it will go outside the window and we should ignore it.

c410bf0193 rxrpc: Fix the excessive initial retransmission timeout
rxrpc currently uses a fixed 4s retransmission timeout until the RTT is
sufficiently sampled.  This can cause problems with some fileservers with
calls to the cache manager in the afs filesystem being dropped from the
fileserver because a packet goes missing and the retransmission timeout is
greater than the call expiry timeout.

Fix this by:

 (1) Copying the RTT/RTO calculation code from Linux's TCP implementation
     and altering it to fit rxrpc.

 (2) Altering the various users of the RTT to make use of the new SRTT
     value.

 (3) Replacing the use of rxrpc_resend_timeout to use the calculated RTO
     value instead (which is needed in jiffies), along with a backoff.

Notes:

 (1) rxrpc provides RTT samples by matching the serial numbers on outgoing
     DATA packets that have the RXRPC_REQUEST_ACK set and PING ACK packets
     against the reference serial number in incoming REQUESTED ACK and
     PING-RESPONSE ACK packets.

 (2) Each packet that is transmitted on an rxrpc connection gets a new
     per-connection serial number, even for retransmissions, so an ACK can
     be cross-referenced to a specific trigger packet.  This allows RTT
     information to be drawn from retransmitted DATA packets also.

 (3) rxrpc maintains the RTT/RTO state on the rxrpc_peer record rather than
     on an rxrpc_call because many RPC calls won't live long enough to
     generate more than one sample.

 (4) The calculated SRTT value is in units of 8ths of a microsecond rather
     than nanoseconds.

The (S)RTT and RTO values are displayed in /proc/net/rxrpc/peers.

0e631eee17 rxrpc: Fix DATA Tx to disable nofrag for UDP on AF_INET6 socket
Fix the DATA packet transmission to disable nofrag for UDPv4 on an AF_INET6
socket as well as UDPv6 when trying to transmit fragmentably.

Without this, packets filled to the normal size used by the kernel AFS
client of 1412 bytes be rejected by udp_sendmsg() with EMSGSIZE
immediately.  The ->sk_error_report() notification hook is called, but
rxrpc doesn't generate a trace for it.

This is a temporary fix; a more permanent solution needs to involve
changing the size of the packets being filled in accordance with the MTU,
which isn't currently done in AF_RXRPC.  The reason for not doing so was
that, barring the last packet in an rx jumbo packet, jumbos can only be
assembled out of 1412-byte packets - and the plan was to construct jumbos
on the fly at transmission time.

Also, there's no point turning on IPV6_MTU_DISCOVER, since IPv6 has to
engage in this anyway since fragmentation is only done by the sender.  We
can then condense the switch-statement in rxrpc_send_data_packet().

One way to prevent this deadlock scenario from happening is to not
allow writing to userspace while holding the key semaphore. Instead,
an internal buffer is allocated for getting the keys out from the
read method first before copying them out to userspace without holding
the lock.

That requires taking out the __user modifier from all the relevant
read methods as well as additional changes to not use any userspace
write helpers. That is,

  1) The put_user() call is replaced by a direct copy.
  2) The copy_to_user() call is replaced by memcpy().
  3) All the fault handling code is removed.

Compiling on a x86-64 system, the size of the rxrpc_read() function is
reduced from 3795 bytes to 2384 bytes with this patch.

7d7587db0d afs: Fix client call Rx-phase signal handling
Fix the handling of signals in client rxrpc calls made by the afs
filesystem.  Ignore signals completely, leaving call abandonment or
connection loss to be detected by timeouts inside AF_RXRPC.

Allowing a filesystem call to be interrupted after the entire request has
been transmitted and an abort sent means that the server may or may not
have done the action - and we don't know.  It may even be worse than that
for older servers.

e138aa7d32 rxrpc: Fix call interruptibility handling
Fix the interruptibility of kernel-initiated client calls so that they're
either only interruptible when they're waiting for a call slot to come
available or they're not interruptible at all.  Either way, they're not
interruptible during transmission.

This should help prevent StoreData calls from being interrupted when
writeback is in progress.  It doesn't, however, handle interruption during
the receive phase.

Userspace-initiated calls are still interruptable.  After the signal has
been handled, sendmsg() will return the amount of data copied out of the
buffer and userspace can perform another sendmsg() call to continue
transmission.

963485d436 rxrpc: Fix call RCU cleanup using non-bh-safe locks
rxrpc_rcu_destroy_call(), which is called as an RCU callback to clean up a
put call, calls rxrpc_put_connection() which, deep in its bowels, takes a
number of spinlocks in a non-BH-safe way, including rxrpc_conn_id_lock and
local->client_conns_lock.  RCU callbacks, however, are normally called from
softirq context, which can cause lockdep to notice the locking
inconsistency.

To get lockdep to detect this, it's necessary to have the connection
cleaned up on the put at the end of the last of its calls, though normally
the clean up is deferred.  This can be induced, however, by starting a call
on an AF_RXRPC socket and then closing the socket without reading the
reply.

Fix this by having rxrpc_rcu_destroy_call() punt the destruction to a
workqueue if in softirq-mode and defer the destruction to process context.

Note that another way to fix this could be to add a bunch of bh-disable
annotations to the spinlocks concerned - and there might be more than just
those two - but that means spending more time with BHs disabled.

Note also that some of these places were covered by bh-disable spinlocks
belonging to the rxrpc_transport object, but these got removed without the
_bh annotation being retained on the next lock in.

b39a934ec7 rxrpc: Fix service call disconnection
The recent patch that substituted a flag on an rxrpc_call for the
connection pointer being NULL as an indication that a call was disconnected
puts the set_bit in the wrong place for service calls.  This is only a
problem if a call is implicitly terminated by a new call coming in on the
same connection channel instead of a terminating ACK packet.

In such a case, rxrpc_input_implicit_end_call() calls
__rxrpc_disconnect_call(), which is now (incorrectly) setting the
disconnection bit, meaning that when rxrpc_release_call() is later called,
it doesn't call rxrpc_disconnect_call() and so the call isn't removed from
the peer's error distribution list and the list gets corrupted.

KASAN finds the issue as an access after release on a call, but the
position at which it occurs is confusing as it appears to be related to a
different call (the call site is where the latter call is being removed
from the error distribution list and either the next or pprev pointer
points to a previously released call).

Fix this by moving the setting of the flag from __rxrpc_disconnect_call()
to rxrpc_disconnect_call() in the same place that the connection pointer
was being cleared.
